Brasserie Steinerbos in Wijk 00 Stein

Nice space, but communication around the food and beverage area is truly poor. If you're all the way back to the area that closes at 5:00 PM, it's simply closed. You can't even have a drink. It's utterly absurd, just because it's "quiet"... so tell the first food and beverage counter!

The pancake was way too thick and ice cold. The soup was lukewarm and way too salty. The staff was lax, meaning no one came to us for wish checks or drinks... a shame because the location is beautiful.

The food is okay, but the staff clearly aren't there to enjoy themselves. They don't think along, don't apologize for their mistakes, and work sloppily.

Delicious food for a good price

We recommended Brasserie Steinerbos to friends staying at the Ibis hotel. They went for dinner that evening and... the service was poor and the food was (very) mediocre. It's a real shame, because we think it's a beautiful location and have been there many times in the past with mixed feelings. Now that I hear this again, I—as a resident of Steinde—will no longer recommend this location. It's a shame, I hope you read this and take action.

Very, very bad food. Tasteless! Service is subpar and lacks structure. If you want another drink, you have to find the waiter. They don't come and ask. Very, very bad. Not worth repeating. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL.

I called to make a reservation, but the connection was disconnected. I called again to see if there was room. It was busy. When we arrived, there was no chicken in the restaurant. We had to wait a long time. We were the only ones there, but outside there were three occupied tables. I went to the counter myself to order something. We were asked if the 7-year-old child wanted cutlery. The frikandel, fries, and pastry were not warm. Fortunately, the satay was. Unskilled staff, and my neighbor's food was passed over me. When we paid, we weren't even asked if we enjoyed it. The debit card was held in front of me. That was it. Not worth repeating.

Food was okay. Satay and sauerkraut. The steak was very thick, making it very red inside. The service was very inexperienced. We weren't even asked if we wanted drinks. When we asked for dessert at 7:10 PM, the kitchen turned out to be closed. A shame. Nice location, parking nearby. But once and never again.

This is our second stopover on our way to vacation. A quick breath of fresh air, a nice cup of coffee, and then we're back on track.

Delicious snacks on a cozy terrace

My first experience with a restaurant in Stein, and what a disaster. Absolutely no one here knows what they're doing. The staff's appearance is appalling, as is the dirty and broken awning, tables, and chairs. I quickly ordered a drink that took a lot of effort to bring, and I never saw anyone again after the menu was brought. Smart move, as we live around the corner and were potentially frequent visitors, but now we'll obviously never return.

Ordered two coffees and could we please have the menu? After a while, the coffee arrived without a menu. After that, I asked twice more, but it was probably too much trouble. I quickly paid and never returned.

Great, young team that really goes the extra mile. Good value for money. Cozy space inside.

On Wednesday afternoon, we had made a reservation for five people to eat pancakes. The children had been looking forward to this for a long time, having seen that delicious stack of pancakes on the flyers at Steinerbos. I'd seen someone mention reheated pancakes from a package in the Google reviews, but since I couldn't quite imagine that, I asked before ordering just to be sure. The answer was that the pancake batter hadn't been delivered, so they would indeed be reheating pancakes from a package (apparently, judging by the review, this wasn't the first time). If we wanted a pancake with bacon, they put it on top. What a huge disappointment! Frankly, I think it's incredibly misleading to advertise/promote a great concept like this, only to find that when you actually come to use it, it's completely unrealistic. When we made our reservation (two days ago), it even said we were coming for pancakes. If you don't have any batter, I think it would be nice to let them know in advance. Unfortunately, I didn't receive a response to my detailed email to Brasserie Steinerbos, hence this review.

A beautiful brasserie in the middle of a charming forest. Delicious food and even better service. We were two people at breakfast.

Cake was old and dry and even after we pointed it out to them it remained in the counter to be sold staff even told us that all cakes had been there for a long time. We were there at 11:30 and were already told that we could not eat anything they were full. Don't think we will go back there again

Tables full of empty glasses and plates while there were only 6 people on the terrace, no one inside 🥲🥲🥲 and 2 ladies serving. Had to wait 20 minutes before someone came outside and took order. Ordered Blanche Daell cappuccino was tasty but for € 3.45 you can at least expect a cookie or something. Too bad that this potentially beautiful location is so poorly exploited and yes, the best helmsmen are on shore but with more than 20 years of catering experience I know what I'm talking about.

Had to wait an hour for food, got a lukewarm bottle of omer. Ball tent, I won't go there again.

Dear entrepreneur, Visited your brasserie this afternoon, for the umpteenth time. But unfortunately you are going further and further down in quality. Nothing compared to the service. The blonde lady in charge is also trying to make the best of it, but she is running into so many obstacles. You have such a gem in use, but you probably don't see it. Beautiful terrace, but unkempt. Everywhere there is rubbish against the plants. Tables not cleared and sticky. Part of the terrace is closed and walk-ins are sent away. Why? No upless at the table, so missed income. Then the dishes. A vegetable mix of forgotten vegetables is served with the main course. Don't do that, mainly seniors are eating, and there are also other vegetable mixes with cauliflower, peas and carrots and beans. But no almost snotty, tasteless mix of carrots and cabbages. A pie was ordered. Homemade. Looked like that, but bone dry. Really a lump without a creamy sauce. Add some stock and heat it up correctly. This was cement. The blonde lady in charge solved it very correctly after we reported it, but it shouldn't be necessary. These are all well-intentioned tips, but in the last six months you have been slipping further and further back. For the time being you have lost us as evening guests. We will definitely come back for lunch or a drink. But there is work to be done in terms of the evening menu in the kitchen. Get started with it, because you really have a lot of potential in your hands. And again, the ladies of the service did a good job, but are also committed to what the kitchen spends. Good luck!!!!

Haven't even gotten to the food yet Unfriendly approach when we already came in. Even though I had made a mistake when booking via Social deal (already had vouchers and paid), I had booked via their site and they couldn't find it. It also turned out to be sold out via Social deal, while that wasn't the case yesterday, when I had booked. We spoke to 3 people and all three were unfriendly.

Cheese fondue French fries bread cauliflower sprouts ..last strange choice .. Broccoli and some cherry tomatoes and a few slices of raw ham would have been nice. No warming .. cooled down of course because of this the last bit of cheese tasted very much like alcohol. But nevertheless cozy and still tasty. Something different for a change ...

We reserved a day in advance, which was good because the few tables outside were well occupied. The weather was good, so there were no guests inside. The location is very nice for a cozy evening. The terrace is large but the space is not fully utilized with tables/chairs. The service on site was okay. We were there at 6 p.m. The drinks were picked up shortly after and arrived about 15 minutes later. No special requests... beer, soft drinks,... The menu for dinner was finally given to us around 6:30 p.m. We were then able to place the order quite quickly. We received the starter after 1 hour. The main course after 1 1/2 hours. It was already after 8 p.m. In terms of taste, the food was okay but not a huge highlight. The service staff is not particularly attentive. You almost had to beg for attention for new drinks.

Today we had a delicious three-course menu. It was all very tasty and we had some quiet time.

Young ministry that still has a lot to learn, but we have all been at that point ourselves at some point. Everyone is equally friendly. The food is tasty, both lunch and dinner and large portions. Cozy atmosphere. Definitely worth repeating.

Recommended! Nothing to complain about, the food was simply good and well prepared.

The apple pie was tasty, just smaller than I am used to

Restaurant on the edge of a small lake, with play areas. I tried the soup of the day, very correct, and the Zuurvlees, a typical meat stew from the area that is a must try. There were more dinner options than lunch, but the value for money is very good and the environment very pleasant.

A warm welcome by Carlito, a nice table and everything in such a beautiful Christmas atmosphere. 3 courses chosen; all dishes were prepared with care and beautifully served, delicious! Brasserie Steinerbos offers a pleasant culinary experience in beautiful surroundings. During our surprise dinner for two people we enjoyed creative and tasty dishes, prepared with care and beautifully presented. The service was attentive and friendly, adding to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The variety in the menu and the quality of the ingredients made it a memorable evening. Highly recommended for anyone who likes good food in a beautiful setting!

What an asset the new manager. Truly a catering man of pure talent and sincerely involved with the customers and with a heart for the business. Ambiance is nice here anyway, but this also benefits the atmosphere. Food could sometimes be better, but we are already working on that. And finally fresh pie again, especially on Friday!

Today, September 19, we sat on the terrace for a nice lunch. Unfortunately, after 30 minutes we still didn't see a waiter, so I got up to go have lunch somewhere else. a tip for the owner, do something about the staff on the terrace, otherwise more people will walk away this way

Had coffee with apple pie on Sunday because there was no other choice. Apple pie came from the freezer, was wet, soggy and had no taste at all. You can't serve that to anyone, it's scandalous, while the bakery in the center is open until 1 p.m. This just came from some wholesaler. Serve people a fresh piece of pie and if you have any left, give the staff a piece to take home and don't be so stingy🤬

I didn't think the toilets looked very fresh. These could be cleaned better and more often. I thought the entrance price was a bit too high and it should be a lot lower for adults. Other than that it was fine.

Today we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary in a small group at Brasserie Steinerbos. We were spoiled here and it turned out to be an unforgettable day for us. Thank you Dave and team for this fantastic afternoon.

"Pancake with fresh fruit" Fruit is a combination of semi-thawed gunk and canned fruit with syrup. The outcome is a soggy pancake, which is lukewarm from the microwave from the Hanos packaging. They dare to charge €11.50 for this. Scam, fresh, but even the pancake is not fresh. Wasn't edible. But they had to pay for this disgrace.

Nice sitting there. Just inefficient operation. They could earn more here if they want.

We vonden het verrassend goed, we waren er de eerste keer vroeg in de middag daarom misschien niet zo druk. Eten en service waren zeer goed.

Uitstekende plaats om verkoeling te zoeken op een warme dag. Uitgebreide bierkaart en zowel de spare ribs als de hamburger zijn aanraders.

Leuke gezellige locatie met vriendelijke bediening. We komen hier regelmatig als rustlocatie tijdens een wandeling. Vandaag (29-04) genoten van een overheerlijk diner.
