Burger King in Wijk 40 Emmen-Centrum

Never again! We had to wait 15 minutes because the owner was on a break. He was smoking outside. We couldn't order anything; all the screens were off. He didn't wash his hands. When we ordered, we had to wait over half an hour for our food. When it was finally ready, the order was wrong. The food was so disgusting. But the hygiene was even worse. Nothing was clean. Never again! 🤢🤢 We're all sick of it. There were 7 of us there.

It took way too long, and the burger was tasty, but it was gone quickly. The chicken nuggets were almost cold. It was very busy, but they did everything in order, which made it take too long. If I were them, I'd order the quickest and if you have time, order in between.

The food was awful, dry, and barely warm. But there's trash everywhere: paper, straws, receipts, and empty cups. Staff is shouting because they're trying to call out numbers in English. Lots of broken furniture. Dirty screens for ordering. It's all a bit unhygienic. Nothing is being cleaned, they just stand behind the counter chatting with each other. Staff barely speaks Dutch.

Our fries were very soft and not well fried but there was a lot of salt on them I think it's a bit bad but if you get a deal it's not too bad but it's not very tasty I would rather go to McDonald's or something because that's a bit tastier and cheaper otherwise it was tasty

Sinterklaas Sunday... 22 minutes waiting for crispy chicken, small fries, and Fanta. When I get the fries, they're cold. I asked for new fries and was immediately assigned a new employee. There's nothing I can do about it. It wasn't even that busy at the time... They say there weren't enough people scheduled. This is also the first time the shops are open on the Sunday before Sinterklaas... strange... customers have to clean the tables themselves...

I'd filled out a checklist about the hows and whys. When I went to the checkout, a girl named Eline had to tell me I could only get a drink because I already had something else. Firstly, why did I go to the checkout to order that drink? Secondly, there's another way, and thirdly, it doesn't necessarily mean I have to go for the whopper. I find it really strange that I'm going to the checkout specifically for a drink and getting an answer that doesn't need to be given? Does Eline think I'm not smart or something? Does she think I need help or what? This isn't called service. I should have mustered up all my courage for this, and then this? I made that whole checklist specifically for that drink, not for that whopper. Update: There's also an Englishman working there who doesn't speak Dutch. At least hire someone who can learn Dutch and is willing to put in the effort.

45-minute wait. It's incredibly slow. Everything is super gross. They don't clean until closing time!

Burgerking is is normally better than most fast food placed, although the staff are a tad forgetful, they forgot the chicken from my long chicken

Standing at the checkout with my 3-year-old, just barely potty-trained, asking for a toilet token, they first demand a receipt as proof that you've eaten there. They also didn't suggest that he should pee first before ordering anything. So, we didn't order anything this time. Even when we did, the service was terrible (there's always something wrong with the order). We'll be skipping Burger King Emmen from now on.

The small 3-star whopper wasn't warm, and the rest of the order wasn't complete, but thankfully, it was resolved quickly. A friendly face behind the counter was quick to resolve the issue.

We went to eat after Wildland. There was trash all over the floor, tables weren't clean. Seats were torn. The restrooms were broken; I was told I couldn't even go in to wash my hands because they were overflowing. Both disinfectant dispensers were empty. There was food all over the floor behind the counter. The food tasted normal.

The floor was sticky, all the tables were sticky, it was crawling with flies, all the furniture was broken, and four milkshakes took almost 13 minutes to be ready... with only two orders before me. And this at 3 p.m. But hey, if your staff doesn't even speak Dutch, how are they supposed to understand the guidelines? Never again.

Super bad. Just like with McDonald's, something always goes wrong. Either half the order is missing or it's the wrong order... so always check when you pick something up! We also earn points by scanning coupons through the app. I've saved up 1000 points by then... I want to exchange these points for a Texas Bacon Lover, which was on the app... I get a Veggie burger twice... they shouldn't be calling it a burger. After repeatedly stating and showing I ordered a regular burger, they simply say it's our own fault. And I have to eat a veggie burger... because they didn't take it back and weren't allowed to get a real burger in return. I was really hungry and had to eat something, so I took a bite of the burger. I've NEVER TASTE SOMETHING SO RANCID!!! The smell was unbearable. 🤮 Which even the toilet didn't like afterward. I don't know what they put in those veggie burgers. But it stinks, it's gross, and it looks awful. I've been coming here for years for a beef burger. And then you solve this like this... The staff is always MEGA grumpy. There's literally one woman who's always nice and fixes everything, but unfortunately, she wasn't there and I don't think she works there anymore. They're incredibly slow, and they have a mouth on them, which is unbelievable. We've also had to wait more than 45 minutes for our food the last two times. You can't order normally at the cash register anymore. Only through the screen. And then they have two screens where you can order. Because the rest don't work? In other words, you can't pay with cash either? Because you have to pay directly through the screen. It's getting crazier every month here in Emmen, and people have no respect for each other anymore. It's completely gone here. I make my own burgers...

A 40-minute wait for our order, with three staff members. The hygiene was terrible, with overflowing trash bins and trash on the floor. The food was extremely small portions. We'll never eat there again!

Getting 4 ice creams... it takes a whole 20 minutes before it's ready... The milk still needs to be milked, the Twix still needs to be picked up at Albert Heijn... What a crappy place. Receipt after receipt is processed at a leisurely pace... You won't see us there anymore.

This Burger King is absolutely terrible. It takes at least 30 minutes, and with small children, that's really not ideal. The food is decent, but definitely not what you'd normally expect from Burger King. All the tables are dirty, and the trash cans are overflowing! I won't be coming back.

Waited 40 minutes, no employee willing to speak to me. The toilet was filthy, feces all over it. The order was incomplete and cold. Never again.

We waited 45 minutes for our food. When we finally got it, my chicken nuggets were cold. I ordered twisted fries but got regular fries. I also ordered fries sauce, but I didn't get it. I paid €1.20 extra for something I didn't even get. My burger and drink were good.

I've never had to wait as long as I do here... There's a surplus of staff in the kitchen, but somehow it's not working. Food is just thrown in bags.

Underground. Behind the counter, the floor is covered with fallen food and packaging. The situation is no better on the counter in front of the drinks dispenser. Hygiene cannot be guaranteed. The cashier is in contact with the food, there are no gloves, and the employees appear extremely unkempt. The organization of order processing is poor.

Long wait for food, as many comments mention, you almost have to speak English. Food is not very warm. And why have a cash register if you ultimately won't be helped, I've seen better chains.

May 3, '25 (we also found out when we picked up that some of our burgers had been burned when we got home) Fortunately, these people work at Burger King instead of something that is useful to you 😪

The quality of the food, the atmosphere and the service have deteriorated even more. My wife, her friend and I came here again after a wet day of wildlands food. I had the Whopper again, my wife a long chicken and her friend a crazy cheese, all menus. There was an English lady behind the counter, we ordered from her at the cash register, but it turned out that we could not pay by card there. She was very friendly and helped us further at the screens. Loud music came from the kitchen as usual, I could hardly understand the lady at the cash register. The loud rock music could be heard throughout the entire branch. Since the departure of a number of staff members, the quality of the food and service has plummeted. When we finally got our food after 20 minutes (which is not really fast food in my opinion) it was lukewarm, the fries were cold and the Sprite with my wife's menu tasted like sparkling water. This was a shame, nevertheless we finished our food and left. I would only come back here if there are clear and strong changes!

Here the big king XXL tastes and is different from other BK's. They put arugula in it instead of lettuce, less cheese...

This Burger King is a clear recommendation for me. Very friendly staff and always fresh and hot food. Waiting times are short and acceptable even when there is a lot of traffic. I like going there. It tastes excellent!

Really, really bad!!! I placed an order, waited over 30 minutes and asked for a refund.. I couldnt and didnt want to wait any longer! There were so many orders on the screen in progress but only two employees! I also saw a man from, i think NVWA (food inspection) checking the entire kitchen and products.

The branch was dirty, filthy tables, food on the floor. It was quiet so there were plenty of opportunities to tidy up and clean, but chatting was more important than working. When we finally got the food, the burgers were lukewarm, but at least the fries were hot.

The most ordinary street food, reusable cups can be returned at the checkout and the cost will be refunded, delicious French fries and master grilled burgers are the most delicious, some chairs are high with a broken footrest and are uncomfortable to sit on, there are no sockets (I didn’t find any), the staff quickly does their job, many times I saw a lot of orders on the screen and they did the job very quickly, at kfc where I am also often the staff is not so fast, the toilet is old of course. I ordered via Uber-eats, after waiting 1.30 hours I received a message that the order had been cancelled! After that I heard nothing more about why!

Waiting time more than 30 minutes, then the order was cancelled. With 1 person in the kitchen and 2 behind the counter who hardly understand what they have to do, this would certainly have taken more than 1 hour extra given the pace at which the orders were processed (a total of 2 menus were ready in those 30 minutes). The employees were friendly and did their best, but the owner of this branch should be ashamed to let them drown like that on a busy Sunday evening.

Ordered food there at 5.45 pm (this was requested), at 6.15 pm it was ready and we had to take it with us. They closed early because the door was broken. We heard this when the order was ready. So after a day at Wildlands with the kids to the car, we arrive and the order is wrong and incomplete. Very unfortunate after a nice day!.

We will never come here again. You order your food and it's ready, you get your jet pushed into your hands with a bag and you have to leave. Medium fries well, at McDonalds they are small fries. The nuggets were soft and looked like sponges. Whopper dry and cold. Price-quality ratio is hard to find, for what we spent, from now on just a snack bar, at least a lot of good food. They haven't heard of friendliness here, and then they suddenly kick everyone out due to a disruption, so we don't eat inside, they should have said that before we ordered. All in all a very bad thing, if I could give fewer stars it would be minus 5 stars.

Due to declining visitor numbers, this branch is closing earlier and earlier. Where they were previously open until 2 a.m., they now close at 8 p.m. A look at the reviews explains why. Such as dirty sticky floors, dirty furniture, dirty toilet, leftover food everywhere, orders almost always have something wrong with them, antisocially unfriendly staff, staff who determine their own opening hours. They do nothing about feedback and complaints at this branch and it is a matter of time until no more dogs come into this pigsty and the Burger King in Emmen will disappear.

One of the few Burger King's that is clean and the furniture is mainly intact. And being in a place where you can still feel safe, especially if you come with children;) almost all Burger King's can learn something from it, especially those in the big cities. Why are the Whoppers at BK in Emmen always COLD?

Please stop working with Uber and ensure decent delivery. Already received 3 wrong orders, which BK cannot do anything with 'because it goes through Uber'. Now I've been waiting for an hour, and suddenly it says 'waiting for a delivery person', so now I can wait until a delivery person happens to report to Uber.

So much better taste than McDonalds. I always order the double whopper menu there and am very satisfied with it.

If you hardly ever visit the BK, it is complicated to do everything correctly on those screens. And then those cups with a deposit...not handy.

Order incomplete as always and this theater with the toilets is well known in the Netherlands. There are no toilets in any shopping center in the province or any public place. It's better to let people shamefully urinate or defecate in the corner. Sad truth. Plus, money-hungry as always. Bad service, high prices. As always in the Netherlands!!!

Those hamburgers were really rancid with mushrooms and so much sauce to mask the rot. I think I'll just send the inspection over there.

The lid of my cup was really dirty so I politely asked for a new one, which was thrown at me by the staff with a very arrogant look. When I continued my way and wanted to eat my food on the way, I discovered that I had received a small fries instead of a medium one. Very annoying and not customer friendly staff.
