Buurthuis 'Het Geschilde Tomaatje' in Wijk 01 Eibergen

Community centre "Het Gescheelde Tomaatje" in Eibergen: a place where you can have such a good time that you almost forget that you went to a community centre and not to a cosy café in the big city. Imagine: you walk in and the first thing you see is a wall full of photos of local celebrities – mainly consisting of the prize winners of the annual tomato wrestling festival, which we should all attend by the way. Who would have thought that tomatoes could be so versatile? The atmosphere is so homely that you immediately feel welcome, as if you were plopping down on your grandmother's couch, but without the smell of forget-me-nots and with more 'interesting' conversations about the latest developments in the neighbourhood. The volunteers are friendly, but it is clear that the only real challenge for them is organising the cooking, which will in no way prepare your taste buds for what is to come. The community center is not big, but it offers everything you need: a dartboard with at least three missing darts, a karaoke system that has been lovingly and carefully set to the right volume to bring out your inner rock star, and a pool table whose balls always move just a little too much – but that doesn’t make the competition any less exciting. And then there’s the café! The coffee is *this* time exceptionally good, but the cookies are always a surprise. You never know if they’re freshly baked or just mysteriously come from a forgotten pantry. And the name, “Het Gescheelde Tomaatje” – who came up with that? The name makes you think of a well-intentioned fruit that may have been left in the sun for a little too long, but it makes the community center all the more charming. Nothing is perfect here, but that’s exactly what makes it so special. So, if you’re ever in Eibergen and you’re in need of an uncomplicated evening full of fun, don’t hesitate to go to “Het Gescheelde Tomaatje”. The tomatoes may be torn, but the atmosphere is always whole.

Only positive experiences. I didn't have to pay for my beer and the music was great. An unexpected pleasure was the exhibition about mouse droppings in the kitchen. If you open your mind a little, it is very interesting!

Best community center in the region, nice coffee and a cold beer👌🏻 a bit uncomfortable these days with only 1 visitor, but the excellent CD collection makes up for a lot💪🏻

Very nice, but I think it's silly that I lost the deposit because I parked the car next to my bed. If anyone comes across my cow, would you please open the front door? She will come home on her own, her name is Clara 97. She loves whiskey, you can lure her with it. I last saw her in the wardrobe

Een heel erg positieve ervaring. Erg vriendelijk en gastvrij, ook als je niet kan betalen wordt je hartelijk ontvangen. De eigenaar is niet te beroerd om een biertje voor je te halen. Hij had in eerste instantie alleen Grolsch in huis, maar daar krijg ik hoofdpijn van. Daarom is hij speciaal voor mij naar de winkel gestrompeld om een kratje Heineken voor me te halen!

Prima plek. Mooie omgeving en makkelijk bereikbaar (helaas geen stoeltjeslift). De gastheer is zeer vriendelijk, waarvoor dank. Er wordt ook goede muziek gedraaid en dit kom je niet vaak tegen. Prima bier en koffie. Een minpunt was dat ik nergens mijn kameel kon parkeren waardoor die onbewaakt stond (foto) en ik kreeg ook geen geschilde tomaat. Verder een prima aanrader en een echte aanwinst voor deze mooie dorp.

Fantastische cursusavond Oegandese sieraden maken gehad. Cursusleider Mbasa Omsassi was top.

Wat een aanrader!! Voornamelijk de grote hoeveelheid planten en bier maken deze plek top! De twijfelaar kan je ook prima met z’n drieën in liggen, dus genoeg slaapplek :) Wel 1 puntje: vergeet niet om je eigen fris mee te nemen voor je baco, want anders moet je mixen met melk..
