Nice cafe, I was there for someone's birthday. Delicious cake and a good snack platter.

I stumbled upon it last Friday with my cousin. It's a great place! Terrace overlooking the greenery, delicious food (especially the fries), a great atmosphere, and excellent service. I'll definitely be back!

I love this café! Is really nice in summer, winter and ever other station. They have good cocktails and sangría pitcher! The food is also very nice and varied, you can get snacks but also a tasty lunch or dinner. I come here every time I have the chance and besides, it is right in front of the Anna Frank's park, which gives you a perfect view ☺️

Good food and service! We had breakfast....the only thing I would not recommend is the syrup they use for their pancakes. It is not maple. It is something out of a bottle, seems cheap, and tastes terrible so I would not recommend anything that needs syrup unless you like to have pancakes without syrup.

Super nice staff. Was at the marathon and had to go to the toilet. Even though they were not yet open, I was still allowed to use their toilet facilities

Als vanouds even lekker na borrelen op het terras, na de Monumentendag, vroeg ons gezelschap van 4 personen om een bitterbal garnituur van 12 stuks. Na enig wachten kwam het bordje vol dampende ballen en mosterd. Toch maar even geteld, want we gingen het met elkaar eerlijk verdelen... Het bleken er 'slechts' 11. Kan gebeuren. Even gemeld. Zou in orde gemaakt worden. En dan merk je, dat de keuken en/of bediening toch horeca-flair missen. Echte gastheren / vrouwen zouden dan z.s.m. met minstens 3-4 extra ballen komen, om de 'fout' te herstellen. Niets daarvan. Zonder verder excuses, werd wat later 1 (één) bitterbal op een schoteltje nabezorgd. Dat is dus geen goedmaker, maar fantasieloos 'herstel'. Wat een gemiste kans! Management; leer je medewerkers ware hospitality svp! We hebben er met z'n 4-en natuurlijk wel smakelijk om gelachen...

Nice cozy cafe in the middle of a residential area. On a warm spring evening the terrace was pleasantly busy, mainly with students. After a drink in the area we came here for a bite to eat. The printer had not been turned on, so we had to wait a little longer for our order, 2x tomato soup with satay. Friendly service made an excuse and said the next drink is for us. Tomato soup with pieces of fresh tomato was spicy and stayed warm for a long time. Chicken satay was a bit disappointing. It was tender, but the whole thing was a bit sparse. Two chopsticks, a little lettuce and not too many dark small fries. Brugse Zot was very tasty. All in all, more of a place to have a drink than to eat.

When you are in Amsterdam and you want to see and experience where the locals live, dine and drink, then visit this Café in Amsterdam South. Café Blek is situated in The Rivierenbuurt, Waalstraat 48. This is across the former house of Anne Frank’s family before they had to move out to their hide-out. This café is my personal favorite in Amsterdam, as I live there myself. So this post is as authentic as it can get. The staff is kind and professional. The beer collection is outstanding, the wines are great, and whatever you choose to snack or for diner, it is delicious. They have a charcoal grill as well. The terrace is large and sun guaranteed outside from spring to autumn. So, do visit this great neighborhood in Amsterdam South and there is a great chance you will see me at 5 PM at Café Blek, so we can have a chat.

Cozy cafe. Suitable for a great lunch.

Went in and asked if I can have a coffee and work. Was told that it’s ok. Started working. After 2 and a half hours was told that if I don’t want to order anything else I have to leave. I was already planning to go anyway so I asked if I can wrap up my things and leave in 30 minutes. Git refused and was asked to leave immediately. I would understand it if it was a busy hour or if I wouldn’t ask them upfront if I can work. But I did and The bar was half-empty so I wasn’t really keeping somebody else’s space. Very rude staff :(

My choice of local bar. Borrel plates, delicious burgers, various beers including IPAs. Definitely recommend to try gouden carolus beer

Heerlijk geluncht. 12 uurtje genomen de soep en kroket waren top. De kaas had iets pittiger gemogen. Maar ik hou gewoon niet zo van jonge kaas

The atmosphere is great! They are super child friendly, and they have all of your “must-have” Dutch drinks and snacks: beer, Jenever, bitterballen, etc. They have board games, and you can come watch the Ajax football matches when they are on

Extremely friendly staff and great dishes in decent prices. Located in a nice neighborhood not too crowdy relative the city center. Suitbale for watching sport games but at the same time they manage to keep also a serene and cozy environment at the entrance. Highly recommended.

Als er geen prik aan de cola zit hoor je gewoon een nieuwe te krijgen. De Amaretto was geen 'di Saronno'. Verder prima tent qua gezelligheid.

Wat een barman is die Bram. Alleen al voor hem zou ik hier vaker een pilsje komen drinken. Erg vriendelijk! Leuk café om lekker een hapje en drankje te doen.

Vriendelijk personeel, heerlijk koffie-(thee), taart en meer, alles op 1,5 meter met spat schermen tussen de tafels. Je kan ook op het terras zitten, lekker uit de wind. Prima plek!

Buurt Cafe en restaurant zoals je het iedere buurt toewenst. Super variëteit aan top bieren en wijnen per glas. En lekker eten met goede kwaliteit en heel toegankelijk. Bediening heel goed en scherp.

Leuk eetcafé met een gezellige sfeer en super leuk en vriendelijk personeel. Goede service en kaart en terras afschermt met tussenschotten ( deze periode ) goed voor personal space en natuurlijk ook voor bescherming en ev windt, prijzen zijn om.

Wij wonen in de rivierenbuurt en drinken vaker iets bij cafe Blek. Het is een prima buurtcafe met een goede sfeer. Deze keer besloten we ook wat te eten en dat was eerlijk gezegd een fout. Ik verwacht niet veel van een eetcafe maar dat jullie zelfs dat beetje salade niet aanmaken !???? Ik schrijf nooit slechte recesnsies maar wij besloten unaniem het het voortaan op een drankje te houden

Ik woon sinds een paar jaar in de Rivierenbuurt maar was al vanaf dag één fan van Cafe Blek. Goeie koffie, vriendelijk personeel, aardige eigenaren & goed geprijsd. Ik kom hier altijd graag met mijn zoon een tosti en frietjes eten na school.

Con amigos de negocios, cenamos tarde allí después de un largo día en la Horecava. Sacia con papas fritas y salat. Gran gusto y personal super amable. Siempre es genial experimentar la amabilidad, siempre me hace feliz y me siento bienvenido. Volveremos allí de nuevo.
