In addition to super delicious coffee, (vegan) pastries and a very cozy atmosphere, it is also a very nice bicycle shop. I am very happy with my incredibly beautiful Giant Gravelbike and will often come back for the fun!

Many riders regard crackle from dried mud on the calves, black snot in front of the eyes and skin burned red by the sun as repetitive incidents in their turbulent cycling lives. This also includes the hunger pang, which is merciless and kills many a rider halfway through the most picturesque races. The environment doesn't count for a while. What does count is surviving on a bar of chocolate, a currant bun and a banana that has often been crushed to a pulp. Or a stopping place… a cycling café… Located on the flanks of the Hoge Veluwe and the majestic Posbank, two hilly areas that are challenged en masse by cycling enthusiasts, cycling café Cadans, on what can safely be called 'the roof of Arnhem', glows in the early Friday morning light that Hoogte 80 is treated to today. The sun is bright and hot on this June 23rd, when I join the now empty and small but pleasant terrace. Café Cadans opened on April 1, 2023 and is run by the friendliest owner from Arnhem. The business is decorated like a living room with lots of wood and pastel green walls and furniture that radiate the coziness of the 50s, 60s and 70s. Sunny and elevated seats are located at the large windows that overlook the sidewalk with the terrace on it. The left side of the cycling café is furnished with bicycles that are for sale here. In collaboration with Poutsma Fietsen, located right next to Cadans, you can also go here to refurbish your 'old' bicycle. Everything here breathes wheels, derailleurs, rims, tires, lubricating oil and chains. But I come here for the coffee. After I sit down, the order is taken quickly and served quickly. The blend from Velpse coffee supplier Espressowinkel.nl is beautifully nutty and full and its taste moves towards dark chocolate. A very nice coffee experience that lingers just long enough after consumption not to become annoying. The coffee comes without additives but with a sugar shaker with cane sugar. The owner's own 'Cadence blend' can also be purchased, the owner said. The village atmosphere that I encounter this morning, sitting on the terrace of Café Cadans, certainly has charm. The 'good mornings' are frequent. The surroundings do not necessarily invite you to have a drink all afternoon, but that is also not what Cadans proclaims. This is where you go, even as a non-cyclist, for a good cup of coffee, a nice piece of cake, a sandwich or a nutritious cup of soup. It is a stopping place where you can recharge your inner battery before you either get back on your bike to continue your tour through this beautiful area or afterwards walk 100 meters with a particularly satisfied feeling and, with your head in the sun , take in the breathtaking panoramic view from Height 80 and reflect on what a beautiful city Arnhem is. Been here twice while on a road trip. Staff are friendly and hospitable. The owner seems to have noticed less of that. Got the feeling that we were disturbing him when we passed by instead of having a nice chat. Coffee tasted burnt and cake was dry and far from fresh. Next time we'll go somewhere else on a ride. Shame!

Such a nice place to go! I like coming there. With my son, friends or my mother. There is always time for a chat, the cake is hard to resist as are the toasted sandwiches and I like to drink a chai. My son is happy with the ice cream and playing a game. Our son was ready for a new bike and the owner helped us fantastically with that. Even I, who don't like cycling, now have a bike. And even though I bought this via marktplaats, the owner of Cadans still provided me with advice. Top! Something fun is regularly organized, both for cyclists and non-cyclists among us. Keep an eye on their agenda! High living room feeling, beautiful photos on the walls, clean toilet... in short, why drink tea at home if you can do it there?!

Because we as a group of cyclists were curious, we cycled around specifically for this purpose. But we should have sat somewhere else. 👎 The man behind the bar was busy with a lot of things at the same time, but not really with us. The pastries from outside were tasty, but also quite expensive. Out of dissatisfaction we left again after one round. As a hotspot for cyclists, we clearly expected more from this. Next time we will just sit at Paviljoen De Posbank again.

Prachtig plekje om onder het genot van een kop koffie en taartje even bij te komen van je fietsrit. Ik kom hier zeker nog vaker langs!

Wat een leuke nieuwe plek om wat te drinken in Arnhem! We zijn met het gezin op een zaterdagmiddag met de fiets bij Cadans geweest. We hebben genoten van de lekkere taartjes, er was veel keuze. Persoonlijke sfeer met een huiskamergevoel. We komen zeker weer een keer langs!

Super leuk koffietentje. Gezellig ingericht en heerlijke (ook vegan!) gebakjes. Ik heb niks met wielrennen maar dat maakt niet uit, juist leuk om naar indrukwekkende fietsen te kijken die er hangen. Lekker relaxed huiskamersfeertje.

Hele leuke plek! Goede locatie om je fietstocht te beginnen. Je kunt je fiets er goed en veilig stallen. Personeel is vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De koffie en taartjes zijn heerlijk. Ziet er ook netjes en schoon uit. Aanwinst voor Arnhem en omgeving.

Ik woon in de wijk en kwam er langs met de hond. Kopje thee gedronken. Mijn hond kreeg spontaan een bakje water, heel lief. Maar degene die bediende was verder bezig met zijn laptop en maakte nauwelijks contact met de mensen die er zaten. Dat nodigt niet uit om terug te komen. Het ziet er allemaal keurig uit, lekkere thee maar ik vond het er niet gezellig.

Prima koffie. Enthousiaste eigenaar.

So happy that a cute coffee place like this has popped up in Geitenkamp! Great addition to the neighborhood, great coffee, and the cheesecake was amazing, highly recommend. Can’t wait to come back to try all the other goodies. Everybody working was also very kind!
