Great cafe, nice and cozy atmosphere

We've been coming to Cafe de Gruyter for years. It's always a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere.

Pushy staff. Asking 3 times an hour if you want something to drink... not really customer friendly. They almost look at you from the table. Unfortunately, this will probably have been determined by the boss. Tips therefore do not apply.

No honest opinion on this. Seems like a business that is having a hard time at the moment. Eating something doesn't seem to be possible here. Quite strange considering the location. But fortunately enough good eateries in the immediate area. Just look at the occupancy of the surrounding terraces and you will immediately know where not to be. And yet I wish the owner success and better times.

Had a delicious Irish coffee. Nice music in the background. Just a nice brown cafe without any fuss.

Nice restaurant, very good location, great selection of music (Rainbow, Queen). There was a small portion of fries on the house with the beer - delicious 😋

Upon our arrival by bicycle with plenty of luggage (due to a cycling holiday), we were provided with unsolicited and inimitable advice by a kind of schoolmaster. We park our bicycle neatly along the boundary of the terrace, without causing any inconvenience. The gentleman commented on the locking, the location of the stables, started talking about boas, picking up bicycles, bicycle sheds... It is difficult for me to describe it here, it was so incoherent. When I asked whether he didn't want our bicycles there, whether it was forbidden to store bicycles there, whether they really had to be in the garage, or what he actually wanted to say, he arrogantly remained silent. No explanation, just a sort of contempt. I googled some stuff later, but I'm still puzzled. Once at the table, the schoolmaster turned out to be the innkeeper who asked us what we wanted to drink. My wife said she wanted to think for a moment. He just stood there. Only when she said that he could do something else did he walk away. Later he took the order without a boo or yuck (2 beers in a bottle). When serving, he threw some leftover rinse water out of the glasses, leaving some foam behind. I asked him kindly if he wanted to rinse the glasses again. He then said “I am willing to do that if you leave my terrace immediately.” I asked him what was actually bothering him, but then he walked away. What a jerk! This man really needs to stop. With so little contact with hospitality he must be very unhappy. We went elsewhere for a nice drink of beer and something to eat.

With a name like mine I can only like this cafe. But they are very friendly people and the selection of beers, including the Gruyter, is great!

The tapas was delicious. Falafel a little less, a bit dry in my opinion, but you can argue about the taste.

Simple food with a hefty price tag. Total 'I'll throw something on a plate'. Not worthy of the name chef, shame on you!

Brown café without any fuss. This is the right place for a nice evening or a pleasant afternoon on the terrace. Tasty (special) beers on tap and/or bottle! Snacking on a bitterballen or something else is also no problem. If you want to chill out in the Weert countryside, then you've come to the right place!

Nice café with a good terrace and friendly service, affordable prices During the summer evening concerts on Thursdays it is a nice place to be if the weather is good During our visit there was a nice wind band playing which gave a special cachet to the whole

The food is delicious! Good atmosphere and delicious wine. Service was great: dietary requirements were immediately taken into account. The patio chairs are not great for my back. Otherwise great!
