I just love this place, been going there for years, awesome. Just sat outside Saturday lunchtime supping a beer and watching the world go by. Cool bananas.

Actually a nice pub, but a bit grubby. The glasses were piled up on the bar and were washed by hand in seconds.

We were lucky; on Fridays and Saturdays, the Moluccan Rita cooks delicious Indonesian food from 5:00 PM onwards. There is a basic menu with white rice, daging smoor, and atjar, and various side dishes can be ordered such as satay, ajam kerrie, and pisang goreng. What a feast of delicious flavors. Not spicy, unless you add the homemade sambal yourself. Thanks Rita, we enjoyed it.

The atmosphere is perfect, the staff is very friendly, and they really go the extra mile to ensure you have a great evening. I hope it stays that way for a long time to come.

I've been going there for quite a while now and I get what I've been getting for years. I enjoy going there, especially when there are lots of people passing by.

In Venlo, found it by chance, enjoyed a Hertog Jan wheat beer outside on the terrace.

Regular pub, the only real one and always friendly people

Sitting outside is quite comfortable. The food isn't that great. You can drink beer, but it's expensive.

Café in the city centre. Cosy with regular live performances. When you walk outside you have to pay attention. The exit is on a corner where you are immediately on the road. If you are not paying attention you will end up under a bicycle. The cyclists come down a mountain here and the speed is therefore quite high.

We visited the café when we took a short trip to Venlo. The restaurant was well attended, the service was quick and also very friendly. All in all it was worth a visit. We will definitely go there again when we are in Venlo. I can't say anything about the food, we just had something to drink

I've been to this cafe several times and every time it's been a great mix of: comfortably trying a new cold beer, dancing around to good music or just smoking outside and chatting with others.

Bar with central atmosphere. Very friendly staff.

Today we ate fries there and they where totally discusting. They tasted like the oil was older than my grandma, please change the oil, maybe you are using car oil or something.

This pub was part of a pub wave, I had a beer and Jagerbomb here, which went down fine. There is little to say about the taste, the quantity in the jagerbomb could have been a bit more..

We just stopped there for a quick shopping trip. Very cozy, rustic atmosphere, friendly service and a wide range of drinks with many types of beer including "van de tap (on tap)" 👍😀

Nice place, but you are thrown out of the place without proof or anything because you are supposedly dealing. Never done drugs in my life, but that night I was dealing according to security. Therefore 2 stars.

My first arrival in Venlo and I'm delighted with the part of the city called Klein Itälie... Of all the coffee bars, I decided on Café de Locomotief... The ambiance inside the Café is fantastic... Pleasant staff , the service is perfect...

We were here with a group of Brabant girls, best DJ ever. Great entertainment, don't know who that DJ was but he made our evening x100!

The moment you enter Café De Locomotief you immediately experience the homely atmosphere. It has been a catering establishment in the center of Venlo for years and years where people immediately feel at home, and where - outside of Friday and Saturday evenings :) - it is pleasant to sit on the benches. The staff is extremely competent and hospitable. One of the great advantages of café de Locomotief is that they have Hertog Jan lager on tap. A small disadvantage (with a wink) is that they no longer serve nuts when you have been drinking all evening. Some things used to be even better... But more than worth the 4 stars!

Food, drinks and atmosphere were good. Also excellent prices. Staff very variable. Been there on 2 occasions. One waitress was great and the other didn't seem to feel like it at all.

Today we went to De Locomotief cafe. We had something to drink there and a drink. It was super well prepared and delicious. The staff really friendly and the atmosphere quite enjoyable.

Went there with my girlfriend, it was very cozy, we got nibbles with our beer. Was a nice day :)

Worst place in "Night Venlo" to go. Closer to 10-12 pm this place turns into a dance pool with DJs, and also continues to work as a bar. The music played by the DJ is quite energetic and involves fun dancing to it. But there is no fun in this club. Those who “lively” dance and “capture the dance floor” are certainly trying to kick them out, arguing that there is not enough space. However, at the same time, the guards continue to let an infinite number of people inside. Also, before my eyes, there was the clearest manifestation of racism towards dark-skinned guys who were kicked out of the club in front of my eyes, very aggressively and, as it turned out, soon undeservedly. Worst place to hang out. The bartenders are unfriendly. The guards are anti-social boors.

Nice service and atmosphere. Different prices than in the west. It was quite busy around 10pm. You have to be able to withstand a lot of noise.

A great place to sit and have lunch. Don't expect haute cuisine. It could be cleaner, the hygiene is not great. The atmosphere makes up for something. It looks a bit like a pub, a bit like a sports bar. The menu is quite broad and the lunch was absolutely not disappointing. Range of beers is wide.

Music that is too loud makes communication almost impossible.

We ordered two cocktails and they both came with cheap alcohol even though it was advertised otherwise. The “Jack Daniel’s” whiskey was not in fact Jack Daniel’s. And the Martini cocktail was absolutely disgusting, my stomach immediately started to burn and my head started to hurt after 3 sips.

No more than ten minutes ago I was literally kicked out from your premise, even though I have been there no more than an hour ago. Your security member have used physical violence against me when I asked him why he is letting in another people without an ID, and he have had send me back home because I did not had had one, even though I was let in before without it. I find this behaviour highly racist due to my incorrect dutch language and that my friends were the only ones in a long queue that were not let's inside without showing an ID apart from our mature look. In addition; I would add that mentioned before ID was presented due to mine absence in the premise.

Security at the door sucks (especially the guy with the beard). Very unfriendly and anti-social. No wonder something always happens in front of this tent. Argument and "tense atmosphere". Actually they have very little to offer, other than some cheap B-brand beer and bad music.

I had worst experience with Locomotief today. They cheated us with 2 beers. We only ordered 7 beers while they charged us with 9 beers. I had discussed the same with everybody but no one accepted the same. We are very disappointed as we don't appreciate the cheating,

very tasty burgers, very nice waitresses and a great atmosphere. The salad is fresh and crunchy. the fries well salted and tasty. The mayo seems homemade, very tasty. But there is a point deduction because the patty was not fresh. there is better quality. But the whole meal convinced me as a whole.

Been sitting here for 45 minutes waiting for our order. Staff completely overwhelmed, disorganized and incompetent. Glasses dirty. Absolutely underground. Absolute no go.
