Cafe de schoof in Centrum

This owner doesn't deserve a star. He is a real racist. Because my partner has a non-Dutch appearance, he was refused entry at the door. Of course, it wasn't said like that, but it was clear that that was the reason.

People are refused entry based on their skin color, despite a pleasant evening with colleagues. Even the regulars aren't averse to pushing and shoving when you briefly discuss it with them.

Just enjoyed a nice holiday drink in an old-fashioned pub atmosphere. Then, when you have to go to the station in the rain, you spontaneously get an umbrella. Great!!

Nothing bad to say. The bartender is incredibly hospitable and, despite the crowds, takes the trouble to walk over to the table to serve the beer 👍 Good place, I love coming back here!

It's a shame that you're only allowed in here as a white Dutch person. We weren't admitted with the excuse that it was full, even though the place was half empty and the people behind us were allowed in.

Schoof is a great place when I go with my Dutch colleagues. But when I go with 3 Turkish friends, it's suddenly regulars' night. That's a shame.

A truly cozy and pleasant bar/cafe. The attentiveness and service from the bar staff were simply excellent. The music was great, good, and enjoyable, and the DJ even listened to our requests. It felt like coming home. Keep up the good work, and we'll definitely be back.

Normally, I'd give it 5 stars. But after being turned away a few times, I'm not going here anymore. The worst part is, when I go with my white friends, there's never a problem. But when I go with my black friend, we're turned away every time with some lame excuse. Surely my friend, who was born here in the Netherlands but has black parents, doesn't have any less right to enjoy a night out? After several attempts, I can only conclude that you're racially profiling, and that's putting it mildly.

As always, we had a wonderful evening at De Schoof. The atmosphere is always good, cozy, and friendly. We'll definitely be back!

Yesterday, six people tried to get in. We were immediately asked where we were from. It was a strange question; at first, we thought it was a joke. Not so, so we replied, "Smurfland." The bearded bouncer/doorman wasn't pleased, so we were turned away, as only regulars were allowed in. But that didn't spoil our evening; you can spend money anywhere. 😉

Always fun, been there so many times since 1999 until yesterday. A new bouncer at the door, and he asks you...what are you even doing here? Uh... I thought a table for two, a nice meal and then bowling...duh, we're just having a drink, Mr. Bouncer. Honestly, with a pancake like that at the door who thinks he's everything, you really don't want to go in. Such a waste. I'd go to the Loft instead, where the security is nice and relaxed. It's a shame De Schoof is super cozy and a great place to have a drink, but this really ruins the atmosphere and doesn't make me want to spend my money there again. Such a shame. All the bouncers who've worked there in recent years were ten times better than this brat and his beard. If I were you, I'd talk to him again because the way he approaches people is absolutely ridiculous. This will cost you customers, it's just a waste of such a nice place.

Zoë is fantastic, great service. Great girl. The sausage was delicious.

If you're going out, you should always pop in here for a nice drink and/or a pleasant conversation.

Apparently, you have to know the security guard on Saturday nights; if not, you won't be let in.🤣🤣🤣 I went there three times, and he wouldn't let me in. He made up an excuse.👎

We were having a nice beer when Bert came to tell us to keep it quiet because of the regular customers and the bar staff, very strange.

Great café, have been coming here with pleasure for years! But that grumpy gray pigeon at the bar could retire! What a man he is! Terrible.

Nicest pub in Arnhem. A truly old-fashioned cafe with atmosphere and conviviality. We were not from the area but were immediately welcomed by the bartender, we also received shots and special real beer was arranged for us and no ditch water. Recommended!

The Sheaf. Words are not enough. Great place for a delicious bock beer. People dancing early in the evening and lots of fun.

Een echt geweldig café, we komen er nu al 3 jaar, en we gaan dit herhalen

Leuke ambiance, leuke sfeer, prijs normaal, leuk representatief personeel, maar dan heb, je Bert.. Als een rode draad loopt hij door de revieuws als, 'Chagarijnige Barman' Helaas moet ik ook constateren dat dit het geval is, hij stoot klanten af ipv dat hij ze aantrekt, met een onverzorgd uiterlijk en ver over de houdbaarheid datum mag hij gewoon blijven staan van Frank, helaas ziet laatstgenoemde maar niet in dat hij deze gast moet lozen, daar deze ver over de houdbaarheid datum is. Wij en onze vrienden komen al meer dan 30 jaar bij dit Café, vooral Zondag's, maar als hij er is hoeft het voor ons niet meer. W overwegen ergens anders ons heil te gaan zoeken.

Deze mensen weten wat gastvrijheid is.

9 euro(!) voor een eenvoudig bacootje is echt belachelijk. Verder heeft het altijd iets treurigs als personeel zelf loopt te zuipen.

De beste cocktails worden hier gemaakt laat je verrassen door die ouwe grijze man achter de bar gegarandeerd een gezellige avond

Leuke tent, maar de cocktails waren écht knudde. Amper drank er in en vooral één grote klomp ijs. Toen we er wat van zeiden kregen we te horen dat we het er maar mee moesten doen. Heb uiteindelijk de klomp ijs op het dienblad van de serveerster gelegd. Niet dat zij er wat aan kon doen, zij vond het ook niet chill. Zonde van de ruim 10 euro voor een glas ijs🥴

Echt een ouderwetse kroeg! Goed personeel, iedereen maakt er een compleet feest van. Hier ga je niet heen voor een 'lekker theetje' .. gewoon gas erop! Supertent!

Bij aankomst van deze bar kregen mijn vrienden en ik direct een sacherijnig hoofd van de ontvanger en werd ons op direct op een geïrriteerde manier verwezen om weg te gaan omdat deze tent in zijn ogen niks voor ons is vertelde hij. Wij vroegen vriendelijk of we toch wat mochten drinken waarbij dit direct boos werd afgewezen en wilde hij met fysiek contact ons het pand uit bonjouren. Vreselijke bar geen aanrader even verder kijken en er zijn veel gezelligere barretjes.

Ben er vroeger veel uitgegaan. Het was altijd gezellig. Ik heb er mijn huidige man leren kennen. Al 25 jaar geleden...en al 3 kinderen rijker. Zij gaan nu langzaam het huis uit. En wij waren vorig jaar weer even terug na een concert van de Dijk en wat denk je ....alweer supergezellig!!!!

Leuk café voor een drankje te doen. Fijne bediening, sfeer prima en gezellig. Zeker een aanrader om even een drankje te doen.

Als je een avondje ouderwets wil stappen met heerlijk muziek dan kun je hier goed terecht! Personeel is erg vriendelijk.

Ik was met enkele vriendinnen uit amsterdam op stap in arnhem, meteen zag je dat het bij de schoof veel drukker was dan bij de rest. De service is super, ze weten tenminste hoe cocktails gemaakt horen te worden;) lekkere muziek en gezellig mensen, zoals eerder al werd gezegd, jong en oud komt er! zeker een aanrader wanneer je gaat stappen in arnhem!!!
