This place is definitely to be avoided! They tried to kick us out because three of us didn't want to order anything. The lady at the counter is arrogant and treats tourists badly. Don't go.

Rude staff, we went in for some beers and they didn't allow us to stay at the table because not everyone present would have consumed. I consider it quite unacceptable.

Hands down the best people watching spot of the red light district. The outside bar seats were wonderful and we stopped here multiple times throughout the day just to people watch and have a beer. It's a must stop!

Great bar on the side of a canal good beer at a reasonable price. They don't serve food but they let you bring food in to eat with a drink. The barman told us there was a frites shop round the corner. So we did they were excellent.

I have read bad reviews of this place. I, on the other hand, have had a very good time in this bar at night, in fact I came back again because of how comfortable I was. The waitress was very friendly, yes, the beers have the price they have.... they are expensive compared to Spain, that's what it is. But if you go to Amsterdam you already know what you're going for... The days we were there the atmosphere was great, very lively, right in the red light district. The only thing that would improve is the price of the beers😉

(English) Awfull treatment by the waitress (dark haired, around fifty). She came to our table and said hello to us. One of us said hello back to her while we where choosing what to drink but she didn't listen to her and she left. When we went to ask for our drinks, she was incredible rude to us telling us that we never talked back to her and making derogatory faces. We were truly surprised and sad by the bad treatment. Not recommended at all. (Spanish) Terrible service from the waitress (black hair, around 50 years old). He came to our table and said hello. One of us waved back while the rest decided what to drink but she didn't listen and left. When we went to the bar to order our drinks she was very rude saying that we hadn't answered her and making disrespectful faces. It was an incredible lack of respect. And we were totally stunned for a long time. Guys, there are a lot of drinking places in Amsterdam. Don't go to one without respect for the client.

The bar had an unpleasant smell, and the waitress was speechless. I had a beer and during that period of time, I saw how he treated a group of clients terribly and shouted at another group who were laughing to stop laughing.

Very impolite Barkeeper. She was aggressive and attacked us (3 girls who wanted to sit outside) she was hysterical and shout at us. Be careful, don‘t even think to go there. She scared us a lot..

We were three girls. We didn’t even sit down. As we were removing our coats, a woman in her 50s maybe working there told us very aggressively to leave the premises thinking we were just hiding from the rain. We told her that we wanted to drink there but she started gas-lighting us by saying we were the one being agressive. Even the people around us were shocked by her manners. She also told us she doesn’t kick people out but that we should leave (basically kicking us out) and started intimidating us and still talking about us in the bar very loudly as we were leaving. She became very violent and disrespectful.

Saskia is an absolute queen, we love her. So friendly. So hard working. Made us feel very welcome. Absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!

The place is quite expensive. However, it is located just around the corner from Red Light. I think the exterior is not hygienic at all. It also has a really narrow balcony. Wifi is available and free. It is an ideal location to sit and chat and watch the street. After a certain hour, the men on the street look very funny, I can say it's the best place to watch it. However, I think that in such a central location, there should be a heater in the outdoor seating.

Honnêtement je tombe des nues en lisant les avis de mes pairs... L'ambiance est glauque, à la rigueur c'est sûrement accentué par la localisation du lieu mais le patron y participe grandement... Il est morose et presque désagréable. Quand je lui ai demandé la bière blanche qui était sur la carte et que je ne connaissais pas, il m'apporte une hoegaarden en me disant "c'est pas la même mais c'est une blanche donc ça va le faire"... Bah non mon cher Monsieur ça ne le fait pas du tout. Du coup heureusement dans ces conditions que ce n'est pas trop cher (encore que 33cL pour 4,50€ une bière à 5%, je ne suis pas non plus conquis). Bref, je ne vous recommande pas spécialement cet établissement, car dites vous que si c'est le seul où il reste de la place à 500m à la ronde, c'est qu'il y a une raison. Je mets 2 étoiles, cela méritait peut-être la moyenne mais Google ne veut toujours pas nous offrir cette option !

Nice bar/café in the heart of the Red Light District. Coffee was good and the beer too. Atmosphere is dark, appropriate for the occasion/location. Service was very good.

I absolutely love this bar. I come here every time I'm in Amsterdam to just sit and soak up the atmosphere. Drinks are fairly priced and the staff are always friendly. I have yet to find a better bar in the world.
