Nice brown cafe where you can play pool and drink beer.

We stumbled upon it spontaneously, and it was so nice! Owner Jan came over for a friendly chat and told us his story about the café. Half-liter Grolsch, and good old-fashioned peanuts in the shell on the table. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a no-nonsense beer.

We were not warmly received, we were asked what we were doing here. We got the impression that (Westerners) were not welcome here. The concept is fine but the owner doesn't understand life.

Café Dorus was an indoor amusement park in Overijssel (Netherlands). The entire park was approximately the size of 4 football fields and was located on the Maatgraven in the Twente village of Rijssen, municipality of Rijssen-Holten. The park was located in and around a former Avebe potato flour factory that was purchased in 1985 by entrepreneur Hennie van der Most. The café was open for the first time on July 24, 1992. The Snooker Centre, originally called Pipodorp, was opened a few years later. This includes more than 250 holiday bungalows, colorfully painted as caravans by artist Chris Veldhof, inspired by the TV series Pipo the Clown. Disappointing visitor figures meant that this part was the first to be closed in 2014. In October of that year, a new purpose was found for the park: it was rented by Van der Most to the COA to house asylum seekers.

We took a walk to Rijssen and found this quaint pub in the middle of the town. Warm welcome from the boss, who had had a long night. The Netherlands national team won. Great ambience and delicious beer. Would love to come back.

Broen kafee woer'j good köant zitn. Völle ruumte en good verzörgde pool- en snookertoafels. Kearl den't de glaazn ophaaln dut, mag wat meender nosterig wean. Met n kafeebaas kö'j van alns oawerlegn. 'Met dubbele penne skriewn' he'k hier nog nooit met emaakt. Juust aandersumme.
