We just had drinks and ice cream, so can't comment too much on the food. Smoking seems to be allowed on the patio, so we had to move away from the smokers.

A wonderful place where you can enjoy a beer either on the terrace or inside. The food is also highly recommended. Great atmosphere and often packed 👌🏽

Service was not great. The burger was cold and when we told them , they said that it was supposed to be like that. If you want to throw away money for bad food this is the place to be . If I could I would give minus 5 stars . VERY SAD BUSINESS. THE LIL GUY IN THE FRONT SHOULD GET FIRED! AWFUL JUST AWFUL.

Live music would be nice but really not needed as ambient is nice. Daan and Zoe were exceptional, best hosts ever!!!! Had a really nice time at this bar Food is amazing!!!!

We enjoyed this little bistro, mostly because it was close to our hotel in an area, not overrun by tourists.

Sunday 2135, no service at the table, staff was not behind the bar. When it turned out that we could no longer order snacks "because it had been so quiet" we left again. We felt more like a burden than welcome.

What a cozy cafe! We had a nice beer with a snack! Great. Spacious terrace but inside it was cozy and pleasant. Friendly service. I've been cycling past it for years but now I finally went in with a friend.

Good food, filling and the staff very kind and nice! The chef personally came to ask how the food was and offered our little girl fresh fruit 😊 The two blonde employees are wonderful!! Super understanding and helpful!🤩

Een heel gezellige avond gehad met zeer vriendelijk personeel. Er is een geweldige sfeer waarin iedereen van jong tot oud zich thuis voelt. Met als klap op de vuurpijl vroeg het personeel toen we weg gingen heeft u een leuke avond gehad. Dat zijn van die kleine dingen die je niet vaak meer tegen komt. Dames van de bar bedankt voor deze heerlijke avond.

We ordered 2 coffees and two omelettes, they brought me the cold coffees and the omelettes never arrived, we waited 50 minutes for them and left. I went up to talk to the manager and the only thing he could tell me was that there was a lot of demand. (It was almost empty), terrible service.

What a deception yesterday. The welcome was very warm, but the food was not good. Soggy spareribs and the hamburger (from Louman) was a hard, dry stone.

Gezien het mooie weer besloten wij werkoverleg te houden op dit fraaie terras aan de Weteringschans. Wij werden vriendelijk ontvangen door de vlotte, jonge bediening. Onder het genot van een lekker biertje hebben wij ons de bitterballen van Holtkamp goed laten smaken. Minder vonden wij het waterballet op het toilet waar we door moesten waden. Hopelijk is dat bij een volgend bezoek verholpen.

Friendly staff and a good chicken Saté. It is located out of the tourist center so not as crowded as other local pubs.

Great little place near our hotel. Food quality is excellent, the beef burger and chicken burgers were superb. Staff were very friendly and helpful, our attempts at Dutch were met with perfect English from the staff. Came here on our first night in Amsterdam with no research, ducked in to avoid the rain. Came back on our last night because we enjoyed the food so much.

Cozy place with tasty beers and excellent snacks!

We kwamen om te lunchen en wij eten geen vlees. Heel verbazingwekkend om te zien dat dit gerenommeerde eetcafé in een stad als Amsterdam acht lunchgerechten op de kaart heeft staan MET vlees. En helemaal niets zonder vlees. Oké: garnalenkroketten op brood was het alternatief. Dus die dan maar genomen. En dat bleken drie heel kleine kroketjes te zijn, niet echt naar garnaal smakend, met twee gewone sneetjes supermarktbrood en wat groen. Voor €14,50!! Café Kale komt er mee weg, want ze zitten lekker centraal en het is op zich een gezellige plek. Maar jammer is het wel. En wij lunchen elders tot er hopelijk een nieuwe lunchkaart is...

Loved this little low key cafe/bar. Great food, friendly service. Delicious soup, salads & sandwiches. Simple, no fuss, outside seating. Highly recommend. Will definitely stop back again in the near future :)

Café Kale is a super cozy café where you can enjoy delicious food. Whether it was a hot chicken sandwich, crispy salad, Angus burger or delicious spare ribs, we all thoroughly enjoyed the food. Beer tastes good too 😉🍻 The employees are extremely friendly. Highly recommended to go if you are in Amsterdam.

Café Kale is een super gezellig (eet)café waar je héél lekker kunt eten. Of het nu een broodje hete kip, crispy salade, Angus burger of de overheerlijke spareribs zijn, wij hebben met z'n allen volop genoten van eten. Biertje smaakt er ook goed 😉🍻 De medewerkers / medewerksters zijn ontzettend vriendelijk. Echt een aanrader om heen te gaan als je in Amsterdam bent.

This is just the café where you want to have a drink/eat! The staff is always very friendly and the people very pleasant. Be sure to order satay!!

Sad that the kitchen extractor hood doesn't work and the cook is new and apparently can only make chicken satay. But if you put your customers at a table where the frying air is blown straight into their faces, so that your hair smells like chips for the rest of the evening, and it gives you a headache, then do something about the bill, your customers will come towards. Chicken was also very fatty, satay sauce very bland. Very nice service.

All day dining is not true, no one tells you that there is no food if you come before 12 and ask for the lunch menu and order a drink in advance. It seems logical to me that I want to order something to eat when I ask for the lunch menu.

Great, food had the omelet and service is amazing. This is a great place for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Lovely terrace in the sun. At Kale you can sit on the terrace for 2 hours without a high bill! Unfortunately it seems like they are understaffed, making the staff invisible.

Over a period of five weeks, Cafe Kale was in the neighborhood of my flat. I enjoyed several lunches and dinners with friends, and can recommend the spareribs, chicken satay, and hamburgers. The fish and chips and kipfilet Caesar salad were recommended by my friends. Don’t forget the frites. There is a good selection of beer and wine. Several wet mid afternoons, I enjoyed the warm hospitality with a latte and apple pie. The bar and wait staff were consistently friendly and provided a casual, comfortable environment. The evenings, between 5 to 7 can get very busy so the noise level can vary.

I sat for a while before I was offered a drink or a menu.Tthe staff seemed almost disinterested, almost as if they were trying to play it cool. The place was classy in appearance, a very proper and traditional looking place. The food tasted good, but admittedly was wrong, I ordered a ham sandwich only to get a plate with a base of bread with a honey mustard spread, greans like arugula and possibly kale, and deli cuts of ham atop it. It felt a culinary artist from an alien planet was described a sandwich in writing and then had to make a sandwich. The food tasted good which is most important, but it just felt wrong. I wanted to hold my sandwich in my hands and drink a beer. In total things were good, but strange.

Tot een tijdje geleden was Café Kale de plek waar het áltijd goed toeven was. Maar sinds enige tijd staat de muziek soms zo hard dat ik er niet meer naartoe ga. Jammer!

I used this place for an early evening meal, drinks and football.... as a visitor from the UK, I was received very well in the early evening of what looked like mostly a professional crowd. Football was only on for the duration of the game, the screen put away as soon as it completed..... fantastic friendly vibe all round. Satay meal, and Dutch Apple dessert were just right... perfect on a rainy November night.

Gezellig, vriendelijke bediening.

Eten is okee. Mensen achter de bar zijn vriendelijk. Enigste wat echt minder is dat de volume steeds harder gaat ... Hoe later het word, het is geen club maar een cafe. Paar keer geweest nu en elke keer verlies ik bijna mijn stem.. daardoor is het best heftig om gewoon gezellig te ontspannen.

Stopped by for drinks. Extremely friendly staff. Bonnie makes a wonderful cocktail using her own syrups - ask for her Amaretto sour. Amazing! Ken is friendly and gave us some great places to stop. Highly recommend for local atmosphere.

Wat een leuke kroeg. Helaas was het weer iets minder dus niet op het terras gezeten. Wel fijn terras en leuke locatie. Hier ga ik vaak komen!!!

Mostly we go there for drinking beer. The service depends on the person behind the bar. At times it is impossible to order because they simple don't 'see' you.
