Staff is very unfriendly and rude

At first the bar looked okay, but once the DJ came, he started making a lot of mean comments towards us, so much so that we had to leave before one of us started throwing fists. As other people mentioned, this place seems "reserved" to Dutch people and owners will make you feel that. Also the bar, even though decent audio system, is rather small. Also drinks are more expensive than everywhere else. Avoid this place and it's owners.

Everything is tasty and clean and healthy and fresh.

Not only do they treat people like garbage, there’s one guy named Fred that got really angry because we didn’t believe in the chemtrails conspiracy. He got so irate and abusive we considered calling the police. Do NOT visit this business. There are a lot better places in Amsterdam.

Too bad about that security "woman." I went in there to have a nice drink, first to the restroom, and this "lady" started banging on the door like crazy, yelling, "You're underage!" and "Get out!" in a very aggressive and disrespectful tone. I'm almost 20. Mental health services still have a place for her.

It's incredibly cruel how you're treated here in the restroom. Paying €1.20 to be treated incredibly rudely just to be allowed to pee. Luckily, it's quite nice at the bar.

I've lived in Amsterdam for 5 years paying my taxes and a bouncer wouldn't let me into this bar (he let in 5 Dutch friends I was with) because I didn't speak good enough Dutch and because I'm English. I get it's annoying for locals with too many expats but this guy was ridiculous. I believe the Trump administration is looking for racists - maybe this bloke should send them his CV. Welcome to 2025 people.

Horrible bouncer - i was racially discriminated by the bouncer and not let in because im not Dutch. Awful experience

Security guard was extremely rude. One of us had to pee and then he scolded her for having a dirty 'pee pussy'. Very misogynistic staff! So don't go!

A very racist doorman. I was literally staring into space and he accused me of being aggressive. I really have no idea what I would have done. After this I felt so bad and insecure. I don't wish this feeling on anyone. I really hope that people will notice that this is not okay. I just wanted to have a nice evening with colleagues.

Enjoy a nice evening out with friends at this old Dutch café right next to Leidseplein! Staff friendly and atmosphere pleasant. (Bartender thanks for the straws in the hair haha)..

Extremely rude doorman who will not let you in if you are not Dutch. He openly admitted to us that he is racist.

Altijd een top avond in “ het winkeltje “ enorm gezellig, vriendelijk personeel wat je avond tot een geweldige nacht brengt/maakt.

Typical Dutch club. Dutch music all round. Nice crowd.

Hangt een gespannen sfeer ondanks dat er een beveiliger aan de deur staat. De barkeepers lijken geen plezier meer in hun werk te hebben. Service prima maar uitstraling verveeld

Achterlijk druk, je kan er je kont niet keren. Biertjes zijn nog minder dan een fluitje. Ik zou ergens anders heen gaan

Bastille leidse is een gezellige tent! Ik kom er met veel plezier! De toilet dame staat er al jaren en is echt een topper!
