A very relaxed atmosphere. Pleasant music. The food is delicious, and the prices are reasonable. The staff is very friendly and attentive. If you like, you can play games, such as Connect Four, chess, checkers, or cards. In winter, patio heaters are turned on outside. Thank you for the lovely afternoon and evening.

During my last holidays in Amsterdam I found this place by accident. It was my last day in Amsterdam, so I was almost broke and ordered a coffee and a smoothie. I started chatting with the very friendly waiter and later on she gave me the half of her lunch, which was a very tasty sandwich. I will never forget her kindness. There was also a cute cat inside.

A nice place to sit and watch all the activity at Nieuwmarkt. We ordered shared tapas, something like that. It looked great, was delicious, and the service was very friendly.

We went here for lunch as we were wandering around. We stumbled upon Spargo when we were looking for some place to eat. The food was tasty and the service was great too. We sat outside on the patio and had a great time watching the traffic. You get some really good entertainment for sure haha.

The service was friendly, fast and welcoming. I had the ribs, which were the best ribs I had in Amsterdam thus far, great place to just relax after a long walk around town.

Just horrible to be met with micro aggression when kindly asked the bartender if my drink could be remade, it’s totally fine he didn’t want to remake it but the condescending lecture he gave about “where he comes from”(Turkey) and how I, as a foreigner, should understand that things are different here. He then proceeded to make assumptions about my background and tolerance for spice, implying I simply didn’t get it — as if this was my first time ordering a spicy margarita. As an Asian person living here, I’m used to a certain amount of subtle bias, but this experience was loaded with microaggressions, internalized prejudice, and a stunning lack of professionalism. I wasn’t spoken to as a guest, but down to as someone who didn’t belong. Definitely come here if you’re looking for • Being talked down to • A lecture about your expectations • Feeling singled out because of how you look • Experiencing a power dynamic where the person could have chosen kindness or respect — and didn’t • “foreigner vs. foreigner” policing, where one person tries to legitimize their place in a dominant culture by invalidating someone else

We stopped by one evening with the kids. The fact that there were tables and games was a plus, it was fun.

A small restaurant with tight seating, we had to ask for menus and water once we were sat inside. The food was good, but the fries were a bit greasy for my preferences, an one of the beef burgers we ordered was still red in the middle.

1 star because I can't give zero! No one to run away 1 hour and a half before having our starter then my girlfriend had her dish 15 minutes later and mine and never arrived we left!

Very nice location with the Waag across the street. The beer (Nieuwe Markt Blond) tasted excellent. The price well you are in Amsterdam, so everything is price. The lady serving is a bit overly friendly. Her continuous broad smile is very forced.

Stopped by during a weekend trip to Amsterdam. Great experience, and Michal, the bartender, took amazing care of our group.

Absolute Disgrace. While on a wonderful visit on Amsterdam with some friends , we came across this spot and decided to give it a go only to come across one if not the worst restaurant experiences we have had. Bad quality in foods and drinks , long waits for our stuff and not to mention the constant shouting and yelling from drunk and probably crazy locals that the shop allowed to stay . I would totally recommend to try and avoid this shop and instead aim for a different shop nearby. NOT WORTH IT.

One of the worst experiences in my whole life. Let’s not talk about the mid food which they sell as something special and traditional. We tried the most unworth cocktail of our live (it was the espresso martini and the pornstar martini), since they were pre-made and they just serving them with ice. Last by not least, the blonde lady who was drunk and was multiple times yelling and cursing the employees, made us feel super uncomfortable. I would totally try to prevent anyone from going there because amsterdam should never be correlated with such an awful place.

I was extremely disappointed with this place. On the menu, they claim the pizza is “home-made,”. but in reality, it’s frozen! I know this because I used to work at Lidl, and they used to sell the exact same pizzas. It’s a total fraud. To make things worse, the espresso martini was another scam. They advertise it as being made with a fresh espresso shot and the original recipe, but I saw the barwoman using a pre-made juice and just shaking it. It’s nothing but a tourist trap. Avoid at all costs!!

Was wandering the city and found this little gem on the corner. So glad I did! It was exactly what I was looking for. Cozy atmosphere, staff was fantastic, and I really enjoyed my pizza. It was perfectly thin, yummy sauce, and I’m a big fan of fresh basil too. Got the tiramisu for dessert which is homemade. It was good, but a bit heavy for my taste. Wine was great and so reasonably priced. Definitely recommend.

The lied there was a birthday event just for us to leave because we are not Dutch.

The attendant was very angry, I returned a beer that was hot and she came to my table to say that the temperature was the same and that she would charge me to change it!!!! I HAD TO ACCEPT!

Came for a quick cocktail here, bar lady was extremely unfriendly, i was almost ready to walk away. Cocktails were absolute rubbish though, wrong alcohol used.

Random bar on a touristy spot, good for people watching, but nothing else that draws attention in either a good or a bad way, aside from service, which can apparently be surprisingly inpolite if you catch them on a bad day. Been twice and would've thought of it as a 3 and not bothered to leave a review were it not for the fact that the second time when I came to the bar to pay I had the bartender ask for a tip, twice in a row (first in murky phrasing that I didn't understand, then in plain words to make sure I understood she wanted more of my money), and that after I got served wine from a glass with lipstick marks and had to pick up and pour over the wine into a clean glass myself. The lipstick mark was not a biggie (it wasn't that obvious and I guess it can slip by unnoticed when taking a bunch of glasses from the dishwasher) and neither was me pouring over the wine myself, but the requesting of the tip and the treatment afterwards just showed a lack of common courtesy. I declined adding a tip, paid, said my thank you, but didn't get a word back, neither you're welcome, nor goodbye, not even a look, just pointed ignoring with her face down to her mobile phone. Very awkward.

Stumbled across this bar/restaurant when walking around the city. Great pizza and enjoyed a drink sitting outside enjoying the views and people watching. Staff were excellent, very attentive and friendly. Great find.

I visited spargo with friends yesterday , and we were very satisfied!!! the atmosphere is very good! we had dinner and the food was very delicious!!! we really liked the pasta and the spargo plank!!! we will be back again soon.

I rarely write reviews, and yet. We’ve been waiting for bruschettas for half an hour. When I tried to pay and leave an employee told me that it was only 26 minutes, so less than I said (ha-ha), which is a standard time to prepare the dish, and that it was ready. Well I believe that if it takes so much time to make sandwiches, it is better to warn your clients, so they might reconsider the order. So we didn’t like both attitude and timing. The food was nice though.

Avoid the Burger steak which is grilled and very tough.

Wir kamen durch Zufall auf das Spargo. Wir haben die Tapas Platte für 2 bestellt und es war einfach die beste Platte die ich seit langem hatte! Mit viel Liebe angerichtet, frisch und einfach nur lecker! Das ein wenig längere Warten hat sich gelohnt. Auch der Hauptgang war einfach nur gut. Das Personal war aufmerksam, gut gelaunt und einfach mehr als angenehm. Man fühlte sich sofort willkommen und gut aufgehoben. Wir werden definitiv bei jedem Besuch in Amsterdam wieder vorbei schauen. Tipp: wie erwähnt die Tapas Platte, hammer!

Wir haben das Restaurant per zufall entdeckt & waren sofort begeistert. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen & das Service Personal kam immer wieder an den Tisch & fragte nach ob wir noch etwas brauchen. Das Personal war motiviert & freute sich sehr über unsere positive Rückmeldung. Das Essen war super gut. Vorallem die Vorspeisen Tapps Platte war unser Favorit! Definitiv eine der besten die ich je hatte! Sehr frisch & schön angerichtet & vorallem geschmacklich perfekt! Die Cocktails waren ebenfalls schön angerichtet & sehr gut. Ich würde es definitiv weiterempfelen. Beim nächsten besuch in Amsterdam werde ich sicher wider vorbei kommen.

Little gem hiding in the New Market. It's only a small venue (space inside for maybe 30 diners?) but that gives it a fantastic atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and appear to actually enjoy working there. Food and beer are excellent and very reasonably priced. The cocktails looked good too but I didn't personally try those. I would give it 10 stars if I could!
