Microwaved mussels. I don't need to say more. You're right. I was allowed to stand in your kitchen. Mussels PRE-COOKED FROM A VACUUM BAG!!! Unprofessional and certainly not usual for a restaurant. And you certainly had/have mussels on the menu. The photo below my review from someone else shows that you have mussels, so don't lie. It doesn't look good on you, but luckily one with the shell looks more like it. Microwave, as soon as you walk into the kitchen, it's against the wall on the left. Good luck with the rest. The fact that you're reacting shows there's some shame. Keep it up. But really, I saw it, and that was really substandard back then. Take action, I have witnesses. Just don't do this again. Mussels with the shell, fresh frozen, are fine. But not pre-cooked ones from a vacuum bag and then heated in a microwave. People don't pay for that. Those are just hard facts.

I appreciated that they also catered to special dietary needs and Halal. We had a delicious Italian buffet. Definitely worth it.

Lovely outdoor location opposite the mill. They also have a playground with a great view. We've been here several times for coffee, lunch, and dinner. Next year, it's our daughter and her partner's wedding venue. The food and drinks were good. The service is friendly and helpful.

Today, Christmas Day, we had dinner here. Perfect. Delicious food, super friendly staff, fast service, beautifully decorated, and a heated tent for smokers with music and hot chocolate. We loved it.

We ate here today on the way back to our holiday accommodation. We received a friendly welcome. We sat by the fire with a view of the mill and thoroughly enjoyed a three-course meal. All the dishes were delicious. The price/quality ratio was excellent. Unfortunately, it was very quiet that evening due to the bad weather. We highly recommend it.

The pasta fruits de mer was served without the salmon mentioned, the octopus was tough, not teceten, and the Parmesan cheese was not grated. A piece of seaweed was still in the tournedos.

Kitchen staff is being bullied by other staff, including the boss. The owner isn't very nice; he's not getting any money or positive reviews from me.

It was the first time I was here because of a wedding, but everything was taken care of down to the last detail and the food was also delicious.

The crepe and fries were very meager for lunch. The quality was definitely good and tasty. Their festival was in session, so it wasn't as quiet as usual.

A push-through concept: making sure the tables are full three times a night to cash in. The food and staff are terrible; you don't go here for a pleasant meal. The prices are way too high.

We had to wait way too long for our food, even though it wasn't very busy. We spent a total of three hours there! We didn't order bruschetta, and the table next to us didn't like it either. The rest of the food was good, and the service was also nice, but we didn't realize it was taking so long. It was fun for the kids to play, though.

I chose the salmon with vegetables and bernaise sauce. The portions were very small, with very few vegetables. One asparagus spear that wasn't peeled properly and half a sausage with two tomatoes. The salmon was cooked completely dry. I also found the Greek rice with the dish a rather odd combination. The sauce was thick and greasy. The starter was supposed to be burrata with salad and pesto. However, it wasn't burrata, but mozzarella. You should serve what's on the menu or announce that it's gone! I also couldn't have a latte macchiato or cappuccino after dinner because they were out of frothy milk!?? In short, a major disappointment, unfortunately. Not worth repeating.

Terras was prima, met mooie speelweide voor de kinderen. Eten was helaas matig. Service zakelijk. Bij het afrekenen werd niet eerst de bon gepresenteerd: daar moesten wij achteraf om vragen. Er bleken niet bestelde items op te staan. Toen ik hier iets over zei werd geen excuses aangeboden maar aangegeven dat als ik dat zou willen ik het teveel betaalde geld wel terug kon krijgen. Op het terras begonnen 2 oudere dames uit de buurt zich ermee te bemoeien: hoe zielig het van ons was om hier een opmerking over te maken. Zeer onbehoorlijk gedrag waar vanuit het personeel geen opmerking over gemaakt werd. “We hadden nog niet veel meegemaakt in ons leven”, werd ons verweten….Zal wel familie van de eigenaar of personeel geweest zijn. We zijn jaren geleden toen we in de buurt woonden hier vaak gaan eten: altijd goed bediend en prima eten. Helaas is in de tussentijd veel veranderd. Tip voor als je hier gaat eten: vraag eerst expliciet om de rekening alvorens je betaalt.

We had a reservation for 6 p.m. today and called today to say we'd be 15 minutes late. They told us we'd have to leave the restaurant at 8 p.m. because there was a wedding taking place. They didn't tell us that when we made the reservation yesterday, Friday, July 4, 2025. That's really bad.

Very nice Café-Restaurant. Just had a few pancakes, perfectly cooked, good portions (although I always order 2). Beautiful location, it also attracts nice vehicles. There is also a playground.

Aan de Meule is located on the main road from Beek to Schimmert, directly opposite the mill that regularly turns. It was a busy day with several celebrations of groups, birthdays, weddings and a large group of MG fans, who had made a ride through the Limburg hills and ended their event in the party room in the basement. Despite the crowds, fast and correct service, and the glass accompanied by cocktail nuts tasted good. We were happy!

The service was even better: friendly staff, they were attentive, fast, helpful and the service was just generally as it should be. Really a gem where it is as it should be. Prettige plek, twee x tijdens aspergeseizoen gegeten en beide keren als prima ervaren. Eten was smakelijk, bediening aardig en netjes, ambiance in het oude gedeelte gezelliger dan in het nieuws. Tweede x op het terras gezeten met onze kindjes in de grote speeltuin, kind deed zich ontzettend pijn en er kwam snel een doek met ijsblokjes. Sowieso waren alle (jonge) mensen die er werken vriendelijk. Wij wonen binnenkort in de buurt en zullen zeker vaker gaan.

We had dinner here with our children during the May holidays. Because we arrived a little earlier than planned, we started with a drink on the terrace before heading to the table. Aan de Meule has a nice outdoor playground where young children can play, run, play football or ride the cable car. The menu is extensive and the dishes we chose (vegetarian lasagna, risotto and poffertjes) were very tasty. There is a relaxed atmosphere and the service is friendly and helpful.

Enjoyed Sunday brunch today. The food was reasonable, but at checkout a higher price was charged than stated on their website. We also took advantage of the birthday discount (1 brunch free), but here too we were initially not reimbursed for the full brunch. So our advice is: check your account.

Had something to drink on the outside terrace, not too friendly service

We ordered pie, chocolate milk and freshly squeezed orange juice, all of which were not in stock. It was a Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. Send someone from the staff to a supermarket and get some.

We had a 3-course menu with our family on Christmas Day. We are a little disappointed. Within 1 hour and 20 minutes, all 3 courses were pushed through. There was no pleasant dining together here... it was extremely noisy, so we could barely hear each other. The food was not bad, but certainly not top quality either. The soup was almost lukewarm, and when the plates were picked up, the main course was served within 5 minutes. (There was no room to indicate that we wanted to wait a while) The salmon was just like a dried-out piece of cardboard. It's a shame if you have to pay 49.95 for this. (And then you can't order a nice piece of meat because you also pay an extra 7.95 for it...) All in all, it felt very rushed, as many people as possible in the shortest possible time... a shame when you consider that this is the time of year where we actually enjoy being together......

Nice place and atmosphere. Bad service (they forgot main courses, no apologies, mea culpa or anything like discount. Had to wait 1:40 hours) and average food. Price/quality 4/10. Finally, everyone was charged for mayo while there was 1 portion of fries for 8 people. We will never come back here again.

Na een wandeling, gelunched bij "aan de Meule". Beide clubsandwich kip, prijs kwaliteit is slecht. Fabrieksbrood zonder smaak en dan een gefrituurde kipsnack ertussen. Voor die prijs zijn wij beter gewend, voor ons niet weer.

Very cozy, great food, good portions and when the weather is nice lots for the kids to do. We went during Christmas holidays and the weather wasn’t nice enough to play outside also we were looking for an indoor play area but just decided to bring our son’s toys in and he was fine with that and loved the windmill and all of the decorations. We will definitely go back in summer and get another burger, very good! My wife’s gramma got a tosti and it was really good as well. Thanks for the great hospitality and food.

Had dinner at the Meule at Christmas. Service was good. Food was decent. However, the bill was ..... We had to pay for mayonnaise (didn't ask for mayonnaise ...) Sauce with the meals was also counted (it was not mentioned anywhere ...) So last time I've been here, I feel robbed.... They should have mentioned this, those extra costs

Het eten was super, de bediening zeer vriendelijk. Gezellige ambiance. Vanwege de drukte iets langer moeten wachten op het hoofdgerecht, maar dit was geen probleem. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

Food was fine, just a bit cold quickly. We were also charged for mayonnaise that we had received, but had not ordered. That was strange and not right. Either the mayonnaise is included or you ask if it is necessary.

We had made a reservation at 7 p.m., but they closed at 9 p.m., which was a shame. At one point the lights went out in one part of the restaurant and we were the only table left. We were with colleagues and wanted to dine afterward, and that worked out. so not...

We ended up here by chance after a short walk in the area. The location is great - beautiful terrace in the sun with a playground for the kids. Spontaneously decided to stay for lunch. Unfortunately the deception came when we asked for tap water in addition to our bottle of Rose. This was not donated, but an (open) bottle of water was for 7.75 (!). What a shame because it really takes the edge off the experience. In addition, another 1.00 was added to the bill for mayonnaise with the fries (lunch dish, 17.50), which we had not explicitly requested. These kinds of details make the distinction between a real catering tent run with love or a factory focused on turnover and margin. We had a nice afternoon but won't come again. Shame.

After a wonderful day of walking with 6 people, we had a nice beer from the tap in the autumn sun on the terrace with a view over the mill and the wide fields. In the meantime, a cozy round table was prepared for us to have something delicious to eat. Unfortunately, one dish turned out not to be tasty. What do you do then? We simply mentioned it to the very friendly and helpful staff, and we were immediately allowed to choose another dish! That's how it should be...Great! An excellent price/quality ratio...highly recommended!!

After not having been here for years, our lunch (this time) was yet another disappointment. Price quality below par. Even our teenagers can make the dishes even better. Only one employee worked in the service and even though there were only a few tables occupied, it took a very long time before we could order a drink. And I'm not even talking about the grumpy approach. The price for our lunch dishes was also absolutely not worth it. We don't come here anymore

Delicious beer and bitterballen.

During a bike ride I used the terrace here and ordered a spa red that was served in an open bottle without any writing, so no spa bottle and very little spark. A comment has been made about this, because this is simply tap water to which a little carbon dioxide has been added. However, they continued to claim that this was spa red. Stop with the nonsense and say it's just sparkling water.

What a fantastic wedding we had here! Everything was arranged very well, everything was possible and the food was delicious! Nice contact with Michel and he thought along with us. Staff deserves a big 10... what friendly people! So enjoyed our most beautiful day at “aan de Meule” 💕

I was here on August 24th and the waitress didn't feel like it at all that day. She was busy with her hair dyed black. I ordered my sandwich and yet others who ordered later received their food earlier. The sandwich was not worth the price!

Received a lovely welcome with coffee and pie during an outing with the SAAB club. Everything arranged down to the last detail for the tour through Limburg. The end point was of course also at 'aan de Meule' where a delicious Italian buffet was waiting for the participants after the 'happy hour'! Well done, very tasty and for over 100 people!! You could pay for your drinks afterwards, the bill was kept on your own beer mat. Very handy! Very nice staff!

After a long time, we ate here again, sitting outside. With 2 people. 1x 3 course menu and 1x starter and main course. Asparagus soup and burata with tuna. Both starters tasty. Truffle Risotto with Parma ham and asparagus and tournedos with veal jus, both delicious. We got a second portion of fresh fries because it was apparently not enough the first time (surprise, we didn't even notice that). Dameblanche dessert. Very nice service and in the right place at the right time.

Food was okay, but stacking the used items on the side is less easy, and there was also quite a bit of rubbish on the floor, used napkins and beer coasters. Also the clothing of the staff I find the ladies in particular inappropriate...

We are very disappointed in the price-quality ratio and also the quantity on the plate for a main meal. Due to a lack of staff (service was very friendly and helpful), the order does not always arrive correctly at the tables. Conclusion: we do not recommend this opportunity!

Quality-price ratio seems to be deteriorating here, very sparingly with bread with reasonable starters, but the tomato soup was watery thin (from a powder packet?), fries contained many (too many) hard small pieces, hardly any vegetables, schnitzel and spare ribs reasonable , a little sauce (from the packet?) on schnitzels with an additional charge of €2 per person! little mayonnaise €1 per mini pot! Desserts reasonable, drinks also expensive (shrinkage?) The interior has become a lot more unpleasant, so all in all not worth the money (anymore), unfortunately...and we don't seem to be the only disappointed customers who read the reviews (too late).

Not enough staff, so you have to wait quite a long time to order and when you receive your order. Had the North Sea salad: it was ok...but not really great. I thought it was too expensive for the quality of food/drinks. Playground has been significantly reduced: children got bored quite quickly. I won't be back anytime soon.

Ate a 3 course meal, strange carpaccio, lots of oil and sunflower seeds, but that was still possible. I should have sent the tournedos back straight away, but I still tried to get through it with the fork, lots of tendons, I don't know what it was supposed to mean, but no tournedos. After the main meal we waited for 45 minutes, no one came to clear the plates, but in the end we asked so that we could get dessert. Apple strudel was tasty, ice cream from the supermarket seemed to me. Pay extra for carpaccio, also for the tournedos, but also for the pepper sauce, which was not home-made. The service was friendly, very young, little experience I think. The concept of parents eating and children playing next to it is well thought out. Place to get married also looked very nice. I think more of a place to have a drink and a small bite to eat and prefer to eat out at a real restaurant.

Today for a small snack (toasted sandwich and pancake) with a drink. Order was taken quickly and served just as quickly.... it was not super busy. It's just a nice place to have something to eat or drink.

They should be deeply ashamed and I'm glad I wasn't there because this makes no sense and I will personally never go there again. Almost 10 euros for fries with frikandel and mayonnaise for a child of just 1.5 years old. Whether you should have this with a menu for 3 adults.

Heerlijk eten, vlotte en vriendelijke bediening. Locatie iets minder aantrekkelijk maar kwaliteit maakt alles goed.

'Not my cup of tea', the level of service and quality of the food could be much better. With loaded nachos, I don't expect half of them to consist of fries that you then also get to eat with the main course. Spare ribs were fine.

Eten was lauw. Schalen bijna leeg. Tiramisu smaakte naar water. En dan ook nog 220 euro betalen? 1x maar nooit meer. Verschrikkelijke brunch en dat voor vaderdag. Gewoon een ramp.

Het is altijd jammer als de kinderen het laatst de gerechten geserveerd krijgen, wij hadden de gerechten al geruime tijd voordat de grechten van de kinderen gebracht werden. Het is echter extra jammer als het dan blijkt dat ze een fout gemaakt hebben en volwassenen gerechten ervan gemaakt hebben welke niet overeenkomen met het bestelde gerecht en de kinderen niet lusten. Nadat we dit kenbaar gemaakt hebben zijn er met spoed twee nieuwe gerechten gebracht... waarbij wij helaas moesten constateren dat het vlees koud was dat werd geserveerd. Al met al heeft het 45 minuten extra geduurd voordat de kinderen aan hun eten konden beginnen, ondertussen hadden ze onze frite al opgegeten en was het humeur er niet beter op geworden. Het menu was nog niet conform menu kaart, maar naar het lange wachten hebben we dit maar voor lief genomen. Zelfs een kleine compensatie werd ons niet aangeboden bij het afrekenen. Ons zien ze de komende jaren niet meer terug.

It seemed like the soup came from a package and not even baguette. Schnitzel and fries were not tasty. Fries were hard and it looked like the mushroom sauce came from a package. When the fries arrived there were 2 containers of mayonnaise, which we had not asked for. When paying, it turned out that we had to pay €1.00 per container for the mayonnaise.

I didn't like the food, it wasn't tasty. The hot dishes were not good. There were 3 dishes missing. The fries were cold and hard as if they had been freshly fried...It was not worth the money, way too expensive for what you get...I won't go there again, not recommended

Well, during the week they operate with 3 staff members. We were told that we should have made a reservation. We just fancied a drink. Then another interruption, asking if we still wanted coffee, because of cleaning the coffee maker, well, we asked for the bill, the message was clear......

There was salad dressing on my carpaccio sandwich, it was supposed to have pine nuts on it (I always ask first what they put on it) but they were sunflower seeds? Mark ordered asparagus and got soup. Afterwards they did take the soup off the bill. The glass that my dark beer was in was broken at the bottom, which was a shame today.

We just had an inspiration: "Let's go to MEULE for dinner. We thought it was strange that there was almost nothing to do on a Friday evening. Once inside, there is a cozy atmosphere with a wood-burning stove that burns well and warmly. However, once we got the food the fun was over. I like salmon on a curry. . . it smells very strange. . . and candied onions on salmon? My wife had a schnitzel with pepper sauce. . . . clearly from a package and far too concentrated. Long story short: the food, and that's what it's all about, is very mediocre in taste and quality. In other words price-quality ratio (90 euros for 2 people) severely below par!
