Cozy place to have a nice time having some drinks with friends.

A tiny but tidy little place to drink some fantastic rums. What a superb choice. There are some tables outside on the street so if your into serious rums then this is the place. Watch out for the cat, looks cute and friendly looking but apparently it isn't and has it's own seat.

We wondered in as I heard this place is a golden oldie of Dutch brown bars and we were gobsmacked by the amount of Quality liquor 🥃 available. Literally I have never seen (and admittedly have been to some bars before ;) this many tasty, speciality whisky, rum and all else really. The Service was spot on too! The cheerful, knowledgeable, helpful, informative host was looking after us like it was a masterclass of savouring the cultural nuances of each drink. Will be back and defo highly recommending it to the taste-conscious explorers!

Staffs are a bit weird. Not friendly, not smiling. I felt myself that I am at the parent home and that parents always warning me. Also, You are lucky to see any waitress around. For sure, they wanna stay inside, don’t want to come outside. That’s weird, anyway!

Where are we? What an unexpected, eclectic cozy bar, packed with Sinatra memorabilia. The playlist ranged from Frank Sinatra to Toby Kieth. Totally just ran into this by serendipity. A truly special night to end a week in Amsterdam.

We decided to stop here for a quick drink. I tried to move one of the chairs slightly and noticed it was stuck. With good reason, the owner indicated. Otherwise, the entire terrace would end up on the street. Understood, no problem. I completely understand. What I do not understand is being informed in a very aggressive and threatening tone that a fine of €2,000 would simply be added to my tab. Such arrogance. Consequently, I will never, ever set foot in this pub again. The frustration, aggression, and arrogance were dripping from it! I have worked in the hospitality industry for quite a few years and really do have some idea of ​​the consequences of moving chairs, but the owner is clearly ready for a new chapter in his life!

Especially if you're French, don't stop there. The waiter is incredibly unpleasant. He clearly doesn't like the French, even though we spent over €150 for 6 people on 10 drinks. And that's without even being extravagant! The waiter practically refused to serve us, not a single smile when we asked for another drink, just a sigh. Whatever you do, don't go there. It's a complete disgrace for a city that welcomes tourists. They also refuse to split the bill when we ask; they just tell us to get lost. Avoid this place at all costs!

What a lovely place , the bartender (Sophie I think) is wonderful she helped us out while being lost in amsterdam. They have a great selection of open wines and liquors. The kind of place you should visit more than once. Can’t wait to go back❤️ big kisses

Watch your money they steal from you by putting more on the card reader than you have spent. Gave them the opportunity to rectify the situation but instead they like to keep 90 euros for 2 glasses of house wine. Disgusting

Bloody Mary is just kakalkalych Piña colada and Mai Tai are also not very good.

Cozy, old-fashioned brown pub in the heart of the Capital. The owner is a fan of "Ol' Blue Eyes," and you simply can't miss it here. A must-do stop when visiting Amsterdam.

The whole atmosphere (including outside) is simply fantastic! Sophie and Frankie the cat were an absolute highlight. A perfectly cool and relaxed pub. We've been there several times already. It's simply a must-visit when you're in Amsterdam! Keep it up :)

We ordered two beers and a mixed snack plate, and I asked for a small glass for my child’s drink. They refused to provide one. When I asked why, they said that outside food and drinks are not allowed — even for children. Considering we had ordered several things and were planning to order more, I found this attitude unnecessarily rude and unwelcoming.

The waiter was extremely unpleasant from beginning to end, for no apparent reason. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

The most unfriendly pub in Amsterdam. We thought the waiter was being unfriendly, but then the owner came along. We were genuinely respectful and friendly. But what we received was nothing short of a disrespectful, verbal ejection. A really nice location, but absolutely no friendliness. We unfortunately cannot recommend it! Don't go unless you want to be treated disrespectfully.

A bar with incredible decor, they literally have everything! A very cozy place, typical bar style, with great service and an excellent atmosphere! Plus, they have a cat that wanders around the bar like it owns the place, with a spectacular aura!

We were regularly offered food without having to pay. Also very customer-friendly.

Frank was the star of the show, honestly. Such a cute, grumpy guy. But the whole vibe was lovely. The waitress named Sophie was a sweetheart, attentive, sociable and down to earth! She recommended some other great places which we also loved. Mulled wine was a bit small in portions but the decor and the atmosphere made up for it. Definitely coming back!

They served me a completely sweet caipirinha. And they charged me for it!!! Even though I had to order another drink.

This is the perfect New York City dive bar with so many tchotchkes and flair stapled to the wall ceiling and even the floor. Probably fits 30 people tops and has some amazing decorations. Super cold beer and a bunch of cocktails and special shots. If you’d like to drink in a semi dark, choke laden establishment this is the place. Will be back.

What a wonderful place to stop and have a drink. John the owner, Nick and Sophie couldn't do enough for you. They have cards behind the bar so we enjoyed a few games. The beer menu is fabulous and they even do gluten free lager. Can't wait to come back x

We loved this place so much we came back multiple times on our five day stay. Out bartender Sofie was fantastic and accommodating. Very patient with my sleep-deprived self haha. The bar snacks were delicious and the atmosphere was very cozy. This is a great place to stop in and hang out for a while to drink and snack. Thank you!

Good beer and atmosphere(especially from cats), must visit

ordered a couple beers, served warm beer when I raised the problem, gave me a cup of ice cubes to cool the beer down with, diluting it in the process. Overall staff felt like they don't really want to work there.

Loved the classic Frank Sinatra vibe at this bar, smooth, timeless, and full of charm. Perfect spot for a laid-back drink with cozy seating and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Not the place for fancy cocktails, but perfect if you’re after something straightforward and chill.

The two of us happened to be in this bar yesterday. We ordered four Negronis and paid €52 for them. According to the menu, prices for cocktails start *from €11.50*, which we unfortunately overlooked! The Negroni comes first, but it cost €13.50 each. Overall, the price list seems unclear and not very transparent. In addition, we were initially given two fake Negronis that had lemon juice mixed in incorrectly - a real Negroni is not made of that. The preparation was also not very appetizing! The ice was put into the glass by hand and when pouring the alcohol dripped from the dispenser over the bar staff's hands directly into the drink! That's not hygienic. Otherwise the impression was rather mixed! The staff wasn't particularly friendly. The house cat is so cute!

We didn’t eat here only had a few drinks. It was the first place we went to on our stay and it was my favourite place the whole visit! It was so cosy, lovely atmosphere, lovely plum beer & cool chilled music. Absolutely loved it!

We spent an truly memorable New Year's Eve at Café 't Spui-tje. Originally, we planned to just pop in for pre-dinner drinks, but we were absolutely delighted by the complimentary bar snacks offered—canapés, smoked salmon, eel, beef bourguignon—they were all delicious and filling. We ended up staying for five hours, enjoying three bottles of prosecco and several beers. The atmosphere was so inviting, we didn't want to leave! Our only wish was that they stayed open until midnight to ring in the New Year, as we were having the best time. John, the owner, and his staff were truly delightful and made our night special. We will definitely be returning next time we're in Amsterdam. Highly recommended!

You almost pass it by, but fortunately, as the bartender said, there was a large reindeer in front of the door. Very cozy and pleasantly decorated pub with a nice choice of beer. The blond beer in honor of 750 years of Amsterdam is recommended.

The owner is a very arrogant man. Saw other reviews that could also confirm this. I fear that he is simply a bit frustrated at that age, quite sad actually... He also didn't know where to find a night shop, it could be his memory, but we found one 30 meters further :)) Oh well, we enjoyed it somewhere else our evening 🤩

We stopped here because it looked fun inside. The owner (I assume) does not make you feel welcome as others have mentioned. He was almost insulted that we asked him about a picture in the wall. Seems like a guy who only cares about his closest friends or just Frank Sinatra. Nice place to hang but we will pass next time.

After a day in Amsterdam it is always nice to end the day with John van 't Spui-tje. Nice wines, tasty cocktails and good music. That John Sinatra is a fan can be found in this café down to the smallest detail!❤️🎵 You can enjoy people watching on the small, but nicely heated terrace. My favorite cafe in Amsterdam!

Probably my favourite bar I visited in Amsterdam. Very cozy, good selection of beers and they do a great Dutch cheese platter! Also great to catch an Ajax game on the TV if you’re a football fan! The guy who runs the place is obviously very proud of his presentation so make sure you’re always using your coaster!

I happened totally by chance in this little shrine to Frank Sinatra and rum. Loved it so much I started seriously considering moving to Amsterdam.

I was sitting with my gf and the old man just came out and screamed at us in Dutch for no reason. Shouting at us in Dutch with racist slurs even though we were so gentle king and respectful. He gave me a very very bad image of Amsterdam even though most locals are very kind to descent Arabs like us. It was unacceptable and I highly recommend no tourist to visit this filthy tint claustrophobic ugly place. The beers are also trash. Kindly don’t go there

Super warm place where we were able to drink (a few) traditional beers. Perfect with a small plate of mini fricadelles! The service is simple, fast and efficient.

It's called a café, but I would call it a rustic pub. Since there is no outside seating in November, we found space inside. In the evening it is certainly really crowded and that certainly makes it even more charming.
