What a dump!! Tip: Nijmegen has many nicer and cozier cafes where you are actually welcome as a customer…

Nice pub! I see a lot of negative reviews about the security guard, but I absolutely do not agree with them! A very nice security guard at the door, who always ensures a safe environment and a pleasant atmosphere.

The new bald security guard needs to be replaced. I had a brutal experience with him. Unwelcoming and unfriendly. He has now tainted my opinion of the place. Security is meant to make you feel safe, I feel the opposite with this man and this place. He tried to grab my arm when I was leaving last thursday?? Like I was literally leaving. Maybe he was confusing me for someone else but nevertheless he tried to put a hand on me when I was past the threshold of the bar entrance. From reading these reviews he has clearly made a negative mark on the place. Don't bother coming here if you want a hassle-free night.

this used to be my favourite place to go and the music and drinks were amazing until the bald bouncer started working there. he completely ruined me and my friends experiences, he let my friends into the club but wouldn’t let me in even though i had a valid ID, he told me it was fake, took a picture and posted it in a groupchat and told me ‘goodluck getting into any other clubs…’ and laughed in my face about it even after i told him to check my ID to prove it was real and then threatened to call the police.

Last weekend I was horrified when the bald bouncer kicked my boyfriend out for “falling asleep at the bar” when he was obviously standing waiting for a drink?! Appalling behaviour from the bouncers ruining the experience for everyone else! He holds grudges from weeks prior and has no reason for them!

I had a horrible experience! In particular, this one guy at the entrance, I think he was the bouncer, was really rude to me. When I entered the club he just looked at me badly and everytime I would step outside, he would talk to me in a very rude manner to get me out of there. I do NOT recommend

Nice place, but the guards are awful, man, what they're doing makes no sense! I don't have names, but fire that security guard, what a jerk he is!

A cozy little cafe where you can catch up. The atmosphere was wonderfully peaceful, perfect for relaxing. And of course, the beer was excellent! I had a great time. Definitely recommended for a relaxing evening.

My son was turned away because he was carrying a bag. This is 2025!! Girls with bags are allowed in. It's the same, isn't it? This is pure discrimination!! Not really worthy of a star.

Unfair security, prejudiced, and pushing people to the ground without any warning. You should feel safe, but not here! DO NOT GO THERE IF YOU'RE GOING OUT!

This used to be a cozy little bar, until a new security guard showed up at the door. The man wouldn't let me in and didn't give me a good reason. This man is a special case.

wij kregen twee normale biertjes en een hele kleine. toen we een kleine kregen voor dezelfde prijs was er geen mogelijkheid gesprek maar gelijk agressiviteit vanuit het barpersoneel. erg balen…. geen aanrader!

Security guard was nice and had a lot of empathy yesterday. But sending the Sniffers out to the toilet. Many ladies come into the men's toilet to tackle that trade.

Een gezellige zaterdagavond gehad in Café van Rijn. Gevestigd in het centrum van Nijmegen, aangrenzend aan de Molenstraat (waar veel andere uitgaansgelegenheden gevestigd zijn). Gewoon een leuke plek om te zijn als je houdt van een biertje in een sfeervolle kroeg

A camera in the men's room is really not possible. This is an invasion of the privacy of the guests. Certainly not a nice feeling with regard to privacy and integrity. GDPR is violated.

Security only pays attention to women. Honesty doesn't win any prizes with this bald guard. Women count for 3, unfortunately! She leaves the club with the last person. Have a drink over her shirt. And in the end I can go home without a coat. I am very honest, this is 0% correct. (Pity about the 5 friends inside.)

Doesn't really excel at anything, but you can enjoy an evening of drinking beer and the atmosphere is always good.

Youth of today... Concerns the bar staff; Customer friendliness, service orientation and other social skills are hard to find among current employees. Shame!

Friend became unwell. I couldn't even get my jacket with my keys in it in the rain. Huge problem with security.

Begin juli aan het eind van de middag/begin van de avond bezocht. Het was op dat moment rustig. Ik begreep dat het later op de avond druk wordt met vooral studenten. Lekker Grolsch bier van de tap en vriendelijk personeel.

Had a nice first night out again on June 26! Staff worked very hard to make everyone happy.

In the ever younger nightlife of Nijmegen, the van Rijn is a breath of fresh air. Hits that touch the minds of the elderly and not the rubbish that is on the radio nowadays.

Busy and impractically furnished

My favorite pub/dance café in Nijmegen, mainly because of the music, atmosphere and opening hours. (I am a student.)

Great place to try a lot of different beers in a cool bar environment. I was very well served.

Too bad, trying to get in because our friends were in there. However, at the door we were told that the pub was closed. Our friends were standing in front of the door, but we were still not allowed in. It's a shame that they make a distinction between men and women apparently

Café van Rijn is het duidelijke type gezellige bruine kroeg. Aan het café zijn veel vaste gasten verbonden. Op zaterdagmiddag zitten er veel mensen uit de stad nog even te borrelen na hun inkopen. Je kunt er niet lunchen of dineren. Op zondag Is er met enige regelmaat een pubquiz. Bij Van Rijn zijn ze het beste in feesten. De kroeg heeft daarom ook enkele studentenverenigingen, sportverenigingen en disputen aan zich verbonden.

I had a party here for about 20 people (a Friday evening). The contact went smoothly, and they do a lot for you! We were offered a free bowl of snacks! They are also open to their own ideas, and you can actually plan everything the way you want it. The only disadvantage (or advantage, depending on your point of view) is that you don't have your own room or place, so as the evening progresses people just come into the pub for their own fun evening. The advantage of this is that the atmosphere automatically shifts from pleasant drinks to dancing.

Het was niet druk, want bijna iedereen zat in een andere kroeg of thuis naar de afgang van het Nederlands elftal te kijken. Druk of niet, een Belgisch biertje smaakt altijd. Vooral in een smaakvol ingericht café. Veel reclameschilden van bieren en natuurlijk de ‘Rembrandt-touch’ met een stuk Nachtwacht. De bediening was vriendelijk.
