Cafetaria Dwars in Wijk 02 Nijmegen-Oost

The staff touched my heart. I was on a date with my girlfriend, and they gave me free fries because they'd gotten an order wrong. But this review isn't bribery because of the free fries, but because they didn't throw the food away, preferring to give it to the next customer.

Cafetaria Dwars is a charming spot nestled in a small, dead-end street lined with other eateries. Besides the usual snacks, they also serve pizza and many other dishes. The coffee is good, and the staff is friendly. Paid parking is available, with plenty of parking meters. There's plenty of seating. Great location!

A delicious laugh. Due to a miscommunication, it accidentally had feta on it, but when I mentioned it, he immediately made me a new one at no extra cost. 4/5 ^^

You can sit outside. Sun and shade. Unfortunately, the meatballs were gone (2:00 PM). "Colleague didn't do it." So, as someone who knows, I chime in! How? The fries were perfectly cooked. The satay sauce was standard; nothing special. The employee was friendly, but we had to pick up our order at the counter. No service.

Food is pretty good although sometimes it is downright bad. Ordered as usual only this time for the umpteenth time asked for the sauce separately, where I was first asked why. (None of your business) And then got an arrogant yes that he finds it annoying. Because of course it is much more important what you find easy than the paying customer. For context this happens more often, and something was said about it. After paying, the staff had to be told in a derogatory way that it had to be without sauce, half looking back. I suspect it is the owner although I have no idea, there are other staff walking around who can muster basic decency.

Been going there since they reopened, at first they were very friendly and the food was fine. In the meantime they are very unfriendly, unmotivated and if you ask for a simple adjustment like no onion they simply don't do it and they get angry when you point it out to them. I also once had something different than I ordered, like I recently ordered a durum döner without onion and I got a durum chicken with onion. The quality of the food is fine but the staff (especially the owners) makes sure I never go there again.

Snacks from the microwave, then soaked in frying fat. Satay sauce cold.. there was almost nothing to do. (So no lame excuses) Understand the reason. EVEN febo is still better, and that is all your temu quality snack bar..

You can eat delicious pizzas there, even better than at the pizzeria! Very nice staff and the owner also works hard and the service is excellent!!

Very friendly staff! I had a kapsalon falafel and there was accidentally a little bit of döner meat in cases from another kapsalon. They came specifically to ask if I minded or if I wanted a new one. Very neat!!

Taner and his wife are sweet and friendly owners. Instructions for fries to be cooked extra well, sauce on the side and even my strangest habits are always followed carefully and I have not had to mention them when ordering for years. They recently reopened after being closed for almost a year due to a fire. Until July 2023 I lived within walking distance of Dwars for years, I often came there just for a coffee ☕️ but also sometimes to withdraw my chip credit. And then I always ordered the same thing, a Turkish pizza made my way (cheese, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, red onion, garlic sauce and a little sambal) or a cheese soufflé sandwich with a list of exactly what I wanted on it. Taner and his wife quickly knew it by heart, but it was described on the whiteboard for the (new) staff. Good; long story short. The sandwich in question is now on the menu and on the plate. A delicious sandwich, ideal also for vegetarians because it is a little more than just a snack. For non-vegetarians: exchange the cheese soufflé on the bun for a chicken burger or a chicken corner, also delicious. Now living an hour away by car from Dwars. But worth driving to after opening. In addition to both a Trudy sandwich, we ordered the aforementioned Turkish pizza and both fries. And to conclude, not only has the interior been upgraded, but so has the coffee machine because it is good! So stick around for an ice cream and a coffee.

Best cafeteria around! Unlike many other cafeterias, they have tasty thicker fries here and, unlike the others in the area, they are not that expensive! I hope the prices stay the same and I will come regularly!

I used to get fries here sometimes, but today I was very dissatisfied. Unfriendly owner, very unkind, especially to his staff who he openly insulted. The fries were also very dirty, I had ordered a “war” but they had forgotten the onions. Furthermore, the peanut sauce on some pieces was probably cooked too long. And the fries were chewy and hard. Next time somewhere else...
