Raspatat is delicious! Unfortunately, chicken satay tastes like ready-made chicken satay. Very unfortunate, it would have been tastier if they had made it themselves

Supposedly this is the centre and birth place of the eierbal. We went there as a group of 8 mid-afternoon to try our first one. It's pretty good and has some similarities with Scottish egg. The balance of crispy crust, curry ragou and egg in the middle do work well together. The shop looks humble and unpretentious from the outside which adds to its character. Worth a visit!

Best snack bar in Groningen. A really nice family business. There are almost always good gluten-free options, so we always call just to be sure.

Too expensive for taking over decline. Service not like with Auke and Dinneke. Not recommended

Actually, the name should be changed to the eggball king, the business has a different owner. The products are still as usual.

A snack bar that has everything it takes to achieve cult status. The light brown tiles, the counter with bar stools, the snacks from our own kitchen, the family that runs the business, immortalized with hand-sketched portraits on the wall. Where else can you find such a truly authentic snack bar? It was my pleasure to taste one of the famous egg balls here. A local snack that is more than worthy of becoming popular outside Groningen in terms of taste. I will stop by again on my next visit to the city!

King was a household name in the city. With the emphasis on wax. Unfriendly staff and tasteless snacks. Fries mediocre. What must be said: The egg ball was excellent!

Very good in its genre, to taste Dutch curiosities in an authentic setting (bistro in a former bus station). Go for it !

Delicious meal at Cafeteria Koning, quality as before, my son shouted, it's like I'm 10 years old again, we were a few buildings away with a branch (bakery shop 1987)

Authentic atmosphere and excellent food. Known for the tastiest egg balls. Nice employees and owner. You always feel welcome. Various homemade snacks.

Fries were fine, egg ball had a good taste and was easy to digest. The frikandel, on the other hand, was substandard, there was not much flavor to it.

Tartar burger was also quite good. I loved the eierbal and croquette: super crisp and full of earthy warm seasoning, but I’m no expert so can’t say it’s the best :) This was my first one, but if I lived here this would be my spot. Great prices, food, and staff.

This cafetaria is really good, the food is good and the employees are really nice I definitely recommend is you are looking for a good cafetaria that isn't too expensive. Plus their egg ball is really the best I have had.

Here you can get your calories and cholesterol for a small thaler, also with all sorts of vegetarian options. Nice service and a classic interior make this snack bar a great place to go when it comes to fried foods!

What a bad Service really terrible. They do everything wrong, you order something and you just get something completely different. You can then get half of the money back and if you have complaints they will not listen and you will be hung up in no time. And they can't speak the language either.

Everything fine, tasty and good temperature

Been in Groningen for a long time now and felt like having a snack.........oh yes! a meatball from snack bar Koning, which was always great, delicious with slices of pickle mmmmm so off we go. Upon entering I thought oh, taken over, and yes, that's a nasty meatball, sorry, but it was nothing, a dime a dozen. And of course without pickle slices. Very disappointed.

Used to be the place for the best egg balls, but unfortunately that is no longer the case...

Koning heeft een nieuwe eigenaar, maar het eten is nog zoals vanouds: prima in orde! 👍🏻 De familie Koning is er nog steeds bij, ze hangen als foto collage aan de muur en houden een oogje in het zeil!

De familie koning is gezelig cafetaria waar jaar heb geloope met ouder ik kende de vader en moeder van dienen ouke goed goed band hadden alle tijd met familie het eten was heerlik de meliksche voor de lekker waar ben op gegroeid ik wens de familie koning het best en bedank voor Julie gezelligheid en lekker eten en sterk band me ouder 's ik ik ga Julie zekker missen maar geniet Julie vrije tijd en wie zien we elkaar nog keer weer groetje vanessa smit Julie ouder waar heel lieve mensen gezelig mensen dat zal noot vergeten

Kom er al langer als 50 jaar ,eerst bij meneer en mevrouw koning ,toen hun zonen Gerrit en Feico toen hun oudste zoon Henk met vrouw en kinderen , nu de dochter van Henk en haar man en zoon de cafetaria van binnen is nooit veel veranderd maar de kwaliteit van hun producten is steeds verbeterd hun eierbal is wereldberoemd en dat is echt zo.

Goed behandeld en vriendelijke bediening

Héérlijk ouderwetse snackbar met de lekkerste eierballen! We zijn er speciaal vanuit Rotterdam naartoe gekomen en alles was top. De salade, friet en super lekkere pindasaus zijn ook aan te raden. We komen zeker terug! 5 sterren.

Eindelijk eens de kans gehad om de beroemde eierballen hier uit te proberen. Nou, ze zijn echt verschrikkelijk lekker, erg knapperig, met een smaak van bouillon, aan de zoute kant maar ook een beetje pittig, héérlijk. Daarnaast een patat pindasaus (met héél veel pinda erin) besteld en een salade met ei en stukjes tonijn, die beiden ook uitmuntend waren, niet alleen in smaak maar ook in grote porties voor weinig geld. Je wordt snel en vriendelijk bediend en alles wordt netjes ingepakt. Inderdaad een legendarische zaak!

De eierbal gekocht en gegeten.... Man man wat een lekkernij...... Ook voor patat en andere snacks is koning De place to be in den stad!!!

De bekendste Groninger snackbar waar de eierbal nog zelf wordt gemaakt. Deze eierbal is de goedkoopste die ik heb aangetroffen in de stad, € 2,20. In de snackbar lijkt de tijd stil te hebben gestaan. Waarschijnlijk onder het motto dat vroeger alles beter was, nou de eierbal was super. Ietsjes pikant van smaak, maar goed warm van binnen en bijzonder krokant van buiten. Echt een top product.
