Cafeteria "The Seagull" in Oud-Zuid

A great, old-fashioned, cozy cafeteria with a friendly owner.

We were there on a Tuesday afternoon; it was wonderfully quiet (which I prefer), so no waiting time. I had a hamburger menu; the bun was deliciously fresh. The fries were too much for me, but they tasted good too, and I got a tasty little bread roll with salad on the side. My boyfriend had the steak menu, which he finished completely; he said it was delicious. For dessert, we got a tasty soft serve ice cream. Now to relax and digest.

I just ordered a large portion of plain Flemish fries. It's listed at €4.80 on the receipt, but I thought it was too expensive for a small bag with fewer than 15 fries in it. Friends just order plain fries, which cost €2.80, and they get twice as many fries. Now I still have to go get a sandwich from Jumbo. Apparently, they want to get rich quick. Very bad.

We have been coming here for over 10 years. We’ve seen it from the takeover to a minor renovation, but the snacks and atmosphere haven't changed at all!! Always well taken care of and prepared, just as you would expect from a cafeteria.

We had a delicious meal at Cafetaria De Meeuw. We sat outside in a pleasant atmosphere. Definitely recommended. They have a wide selection of snacks.

We sat down on the sunny terrace. The friendly staff helped us and then thoroughly enjoyed some "patatje oorlog" (war fries), a croquette sandwich, and a bamischijf (a Dutch noodle dish). In short, worth a visit!

Delicious! Really enjoyed it. We stumbled upon it while out for a walk. They presented the plates beautifully, and the salad was delicious with fried onions... Just a casual cafeteria where you don't pay much for good food.

Really surprisingly good cafeteria, like you used to have. Employee who understands her profession. Here you get a real big meat croquette and not that inferior cheap junk that you are bombarded with nowadays. And decent prices, you don't often see me in a cafeteria anymore, but here you really get value for money and the owner doesn't skimp on the quality or size of his snacks. Really great, my compliments!

We had a delicious meal...I had fries and steak, well in 2 words "super tasty"...! My friend had the satay, nice and tender and the satay sauce was very good. We waited for a while at the bar while enjoying a drink. The staff is very friendly and it is a nice place to sit. We would love to come back here.

Relive old times. The special hamburger sandwich (Hamburger De Meeuw) according to the recipe of the Amsterdam Broodjeshuis is delicious. We called him the Submarine in the office. Cultural heritage is continued.

On a drizzly Wednesday evening we decided to join Cafetaria De Meeuw. Upon arrival we were kindly greeted by the lady behind the counter. After thinking for a while, our eyes fell on the “piri piri” fries with the nostalgic “Zeedijk” sauce. This immediately brought us back to the carefree time when our grandfather still had a candy shop on the Zeedijk in Amsterdam. After our order we decided to station ourselves on the terrace under the clear purple sky. The birds sang to us after which we happily consumed our cans. Soon the friendly employee arrived with the “salad”. However, this was a kartoffelsalat where only the title was missing. The rest of the order soon followed, which tasted excellent. In short, gentleman and lady of the establishment, thank you for the good service and the delicious food. And for anyone who has not yet set foot here: come by and experience it for yourself!

The pet balls here have healing powers. Last night I felt really good, so I thought I'd score an egg ball. I'm in great shape again today

Tasty food and good service for a cheap price

We had lunch with a group at this cafeteria and it was extremely delicious. The food was not too cheap and the sauces were not lacking either. This cafeteria is at least twice as good as “Fries from Piet”.

Ate egg ball and peanut fries, these were more than tasty. Nice man who helped us and a nice atmosphere. In short, the best in Groningen. (Better than Piet's fries)

Mooie nette zaak. Heel vriendelijk geholpen door de eigenaar en een leuk gesprek gehad. En heerlijk gegeten. De broodjes zijn werkelijk heerlijk en alles is supervers en heel royaal belegd voor een hele schappelijke prijs. Een mooie en uitgebreide kaart. Als ik in Groningen ben kom ik hier zeker weer.

De zaak ziet er schoon en gezellig uit. Het bestaat uit een restaurant en een aparte gedeelte is er om snacks te halen.Broodje tartaar was TOP!!! Veel verschillende belegde broodjes. Keuze genoeg. De gehaktbal is ook heerlijk!!! .Gezellige gastheer en lekker betaalbaar. Een aanrader als je in Groningen bent!!!

Kwaliteit prima en hebben geen standaard assortiment

Goeie snackbar. We halen hier regelmatig wat af. Het eten is wat je verwacht: gewoon lekkere patat en snacks voor een normale prijs. Het personeel is vriendelijk. De zaak is verder netjes en schoon. Valt niks vervelends over te zeggen.

Broodje ossenworst speciaal en een broodje bal pinda. Het ziet er niet uit maar donders lekker. Kakelverse broodjes, veel mayo en ei dat je denkt 'teveel' maar dan qua smaak spot on. Heerlijk. Zelfgemaakte bal, hoog op smaak, super lekker. Top broodjes.

Twee patat en een eierbal gehaald.Beide voortreffelijk. De eierbal is zeker de moeite waard. Zelf gemaakt door de chef kok van de Meeuw. 👍👍

Bijzonder lekkere eierballen gegeten! Je kunt er prima binnen en buiten zitten

Goed eten vriendelijk personeel

Patatje en snacks gehaald met mijn dochter, eet vrijwel nooit vaak patat, maar dit was lekker! Goed gebakken en smaakt goed, geen kleine doorgebakken stukjes enz, ook kroket was lekker. Gewoon goed!!

Net een top hamburger gehad bij koeno….. de hamburger had nog geen naam maar wat een fijne burger …. Ik kom snel weer Rolf de jonge

Het lekkerste broodje hamburger dat ik in jaren heb gegeten.Daarnaast erg vriendelijk bediend.

Service is ok. Prijzen en eten zijn goed.

Goede snackbar. Geen poespas en goed bereide snacks. Patat iets aan de zoute kant. Misschien een keertje uitgeschoten. 😉

Goed eten en vriendelijke bediening

Mooie nette en schone zaak, goed eten voor een normale prijs. Bij binnenkomst valt gelijk op dat dit meer is dan een normale cafetaria. Mooi zitgedeelte met een barretje. Veel gerechten met een knipoog naar het verleden en geïnspireerd door het voormalig Amsterdams Broodjeshuis. Zeker de moeite waard!
