Cafetaria-Snackbar Spek in Sluispolder

At least the fries here still taste like they used to. I'm not a fan of all those new "perfect" snack bars. I prefer the older, slightly tacky places, with snacks in the display case and those white and green things in between. Almost burnt fries with nicely cooked bitterballen (meatballs). I've been going to Spek since I was a teenager. I used to spend hours there, on the swivel chairs in the back that were fixed to the floor and are still there now. They have different upholstery, though. I still remember well when the current owners took over Spek. It's truly impressive, because somehow they've managed to preserve the identity and taste that Spek had. They're very sweet and friendly people. I hope Spek stays for a long time, especially now that I'm living in Maassluis again.

I order from here every Friday with colleagues, and it's always delicious, ready quickly, and the service is always friendly. Highly recommended for takeout lunch.

Tonight I picked up my order improperly and disappointingly. It often happens that it is busy and I am helped later than usual, but in this case my son told me that I was half an hour late, but I had already been waiting for half an hour and when I came to my senses after these words and said "if it is such a problem to place an order by telephone, I will go to competitor Van Ruijven next time", after all, they had forgotten my order. But sorry, whatever. No, the mother continued for a while in a high tone. This has closed the door for me on Cafeteria Spek, where I have been going for years since I was a child, when the shop was still Fam. Bacon was. I'm really disappointed!

The service is excellent! The food too! I have been coming there for years and the place could use more atmosphere, but little has changed over the years.

Order placed on site, eaten at home. On a Friday evening, approximately 5:30-6:00 PM. Took about 25 minutes, order: hamburger spec. sandwich, frikadel, 2x peanut fries. The food itself was fine, that's why you can go here! Friendly staff. Finally, we paid approximately 13.50 euros, which I don't think is excessive for what we got. So until next time.

Excellent cafeteria in the center of Maassluis. The products are fresh and fried in responsible frying oil. Staff are friendly. It is also possible to eat at the back of the restaurant or on the terrace.

Clean and tidy place. In the most beautiful spot in Maassluis. Outdated interior but very friendly service with a great eye for the quality delivered. Good portions too and reasonable prices. An eye for detail: Less attractive fries are fished out of the fryer one by one!

This is the best snack bar I’ve ever been to. The snacks were delicious and affordable. My friends and I had milkshakes here and they were all excellent. Also, the owners are super friendly and kind. They answered all our questions and gave us some fruits as well.

Food is good, people are friendly. Real old stuff inside. Renovation is recommended.

I get milkshakes at Cafetaria Bacon almost every day and they are very tasty! The staff is very nice and it is certainly nice to have a chat with them! :D Definitely worth 5 stars! -Luca

Service is a bit slow compared to the first generation staff. They do do their best. Quality is good.

Friendly owners. Quick bite prepared with care. Stew really great! But spending 250 euros for new furnishings at Jysk or Kwantum and some paint would be advisable.
