Callaloo Hoek in Van Lennepbuurt

Discovered this place on Google and the food did not disappoint. I was shocked to find Trinidadian food in Amsterdam and when I tell you the flavors were so authentic, I wish I could have ate more! Definitely try the gerra pork and carrot rice!

Not the best experience.. I ate here last week, coming from the US and I found the female host/owner of this restaurant not friendly at all. Extremely rude and very unorganized. Next to that the food was not that great. As a person with Caribbean roots myself I expected more. Wouldn't recommend it.

Very flavorful and tasty food. Full of taste and spices. The main dishes portion is small though, to keep that in mind while ordering.

Callaloo Hoek’s food gave me the opportunity to eat food from my home. The service was always joyful and the food tasteful ! If you come, try the accra or fried plantains with the stew bowl ! Those are my favorites !

The food there remind me of home, great food and experience. I will be back again.

Sooo friendly staff, very warm and welcoming service. Their chicken menues are a "must have" to try - unbelievably tasty. Very rich brunch und also reasonably priced.
