Delicious food with slightly different flavors. Think, for example, of an Asian carpaccio with fried onions and soy beans instead of the Italian dish. The sushi is fresh and flavorful. Sometimes it took a while for the staff to take orders, but they were very friendly.

Last Saturday, for our friend's bachelorette party, we had a delicious meal at Carmel by Catch. We had a budget, and they accommodated perfectly. The chef even came to our table to inquire about allergies, as a few of the ladies had allergies. The food, the atmosphere, the ambiance, the company, the service... everything contributed to a fantastic evening with incredibly delicious and varied food. Fantastic!

We ate there for the first time yesterday and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The service is friendly, and the chef even comes by every now and then to check on everything. We had a wonderful meal and drinks. The restaurant is also nicely decorated and furnished. In short, a wonderful evening. They called me today because we had left our children's toys there. Fantastic, right? Compliments!

We ordered a ham and cheese panini and a carpaccio sandwich without Parmesan. We received a panini with just cheese and a carpaccio sandwich with Parmesan. We had clearly stated this, and it certainly wasn't busy. When we pointed this out, we didn't even get an apology, just a "I'll check with the chef." Now, two of the four people at the table were left waiting extra long for their food, which had already been taking ages.

I suggest double-checking the bill. I’ve been there twice and on both occasions I was charged more than expected. It might have been a mistake, but it didn’t feel like a coincidence....

It was our first time there, and we really enjoyed it. The portions are larger than at other sushi restaurants. The staff was very welcoming, and the sushi was fantastic. We'll definitely be back. Personally, I thought it was a shame that people were smoking on the terrace, but that didn't detract from the rest.

What a fantastic lunch experience! The restaurant looks beautiful and atmospheric, a place where you immediately feel welcome. The service was incredibly friendly and hospitable, which made the whole experience extra pleasant. The menu is surprisingly extensive and consists of modern, creative dishes that each invite you to try them. I chose the BBQ chicken, and it was truly delicious. Perfectly seasoned and a great portion size. I will definitely come back here, because I definitely want to discover the dinner menu as well. Highly recommended for those who love contemporary flavors and a nice atmosphere!

Top tent!! Delicious fresh food and super friendly service. They indicate that it can take a little longer, because the sushi is freshly made. They regularly come by the table to ask if everything is to your liking. The food is finger licking good, super taste sensation! Definitely recommended!

Delicious food and lovely interior!

The sushi is of excellent quality, and so are the side dishes. We had the ebi fry, gyoza, parmesan truffle fries and chicken karaage as side dishes. The chicken karaage is especially recommended! The service is also great, our carafe of water was refilled without having to ask.

Went for lunch today, had dinner a few weeks ago. Quality of the food is great. Service also very good. Employees do their best and have a nice chat. Chef makes his rounds, asks how the food is and is open to feedback. Serving the food does take a little longer. Atmosphere is cozy and nice decor. After dinner you can get a foody bag and even order a poke bowl for lunch to take with you for dinner. Conclusion: highly recommended!

Since By Catch took over the kitchen, it has become my favorite restaurant!

We stayed in Carmel as a family. My wife cannot tolerate gluten. I don't like spicy foods. The crew from Carmel impressed us positively. We both had a bowl (salmon and vegan). The bowls were very tasty. But what was really great was that the chef had left out ingredients especially for us and then came to us personally from the kitchen while we were eating to make sure everything was delicious. The kids also thought their fries and schnitzel were great. Homemade cake was served with coffee.

The food was delicious, but on the cold side and that's a shame. The fries with truffle mayo were unfortunately one of the poorest ones I personally had the pleasure of eating. Rustic fries (lamb weston?) which are meh in themselves, with far too large flakes of parmesan cheese and then only everything on the top. My tip, put thin fries, or regular fries and drizzle both the truffle mayo and parmesan cheese (grated, not flakes) over it. Looks better, and you get a little explosion of flavor with every bite. And of course hot chicken 😉

I really had a great time, everything the chef touches turns to gold, I have never eaten such delicious sushi, highly recommended!

Good welcome. Visited on 16-3-2025 Service was good and the atmosphere . But cleaning can be better. If all goes well, clean your own house once a week, which is what you should do in your own restaurant, as well as all the corners and seams and behind the sofa where there is lighting, laring dust.🕵🕵‍♀️

I had the hamburger with lunch. The bread of the burger was old and the burger itself was completely dried out and cold. The service was very slow. My food was only on the table after 20 minutes.

Had lunch here for the first time, the menu online looked promising… However, it was a big disappointment, the “matchy match”: you pay 13 euros for two extremely sparse sandwiches. The avocado spread was spread so thinly that I couldn't even taste it. The boiled egg was ice cold. The burrata was tasty, but it contained exactly 3 half cherry tomatoes. The cappuccino was also not tasty. And then about the bread: so incredibly thinly sliced, at Albert Heijn you even get a thicker slice. Service was fine, nice and fast service, but the food was just shameful. In short: once and never again

Had dinner here for the first time last week with my family and we were very pleasantly surprised! The facade immediately looks neat with the large luminous logo, when you enter there is someone ready to greet you warmly and guide you to your table, even the coats were accepted! Then we immediately thought: we are in the right place here! The candles were lit at the table, and the music was really nice, wonderful old classics while eating. The menu is compact, but there is something for everyone, including vegetarian, meat and fish. Beforehand, a bread board with a nice warm roll that the staff politely warns you about. We also had the camembert from the oven, which was very runny with toast. As a main course the surf and turf with a delicious gravy on top and fries. The staff kindly asks in between if everything is to your liking and they immediately see when your glass is empty, which makes you really feel seen. Staff is very friendly and really makes you feel at home. For dessert I had the warm brownie which was delicious and moist! My friend had the warm waffle with cherries, which we thought was a very original dessert, and it was delicious too! After dinner we had a coffee and then we were politely said hello and waved by the staff. Everywhere, at Carmel you immediately feel at home, from arrival to departure the staff takes care of you and thinks about you. I would definitely recommend this to anyone in Den Helder! A delicious and enjoyable meal with my wife and kids. Bouncer was delicious and just right (egg white, dry, egg yolk, still slightly runny) The snacks and finger food platter were delicious. Really enjoyed this afternoon. Everyone had time for a chat and really made you feel welcome. Even the cook took a quick tour of the restaurant. Highly recommended

After many positive stories about Carmel from friends and family, I now tried it myself! The decoration of the company is really beautiful, you don't see this often in Den Helder. We were a bit early so we took our time, which was no problem. The finger food platter is highly recommended, especially with a nice glass of wine. I have also not seen this anywhere else in Den Helder, something different from a standard appetizer. Later in the evening I had a nice dinner, my girlfriend had the satay which was really super tender! I myself had the “marry me chicken”. It came in a delicious creamy light sauce with mushrooms and bacon, highly recommended. The service was also super sweet and attentive. Upon arrival, our coats were taken from us, we were well taken care of and despite the crowds, the drinks were always refilled. All in all we had a great evening and we will definitely come back!

Last Saturday I went out to dinner at Carmel. I took a board with all kinds of tasty dishes that tasted delicious. Delicious cheese croquettes. And the cheese was melted very well. The tacos were exuberant. The tacos contained many pieces of chicken which made them extra tasty. The chicken pieces had a very creamy taste. I really liked the service. It took fifteen minutes and then the shelf was already there. The service was paying close attention to whether there were any drinks left and that was very nice. This way we didn't have to ask for it ourselves. The atmosphere was very pleasant. Cozy with a candle and lots of lights. The service was very friendly and showed real interest. My friend had to think for a long time about her choice of dish, but the service waited politely. That felt very nice because sometimes it still seems rushed, but now that was really not the case. I definitely recommend it if you want to eat there or just have a drink. This is something I will return to often.

Wat een heerlijk eten. Er zit namelijk veel smaak aan en alle hoeveelheden van het gerecht zijn helemaal goed. Echt genieten zeg. Ik kom hier zeker vaak terug.

De bediening was met de drankjes prima . Aardig personeel en de zaak ziet er netjes uit. Het eten liet lang op zich wachten en na een uur kwam er een flauw smakende mini kabeljauw op een bordje met amper wat groente uit de keuken met koude patat uiteindelijk op tafel . De biefstuk was ok. Er is niet gevraagd of alles naar wens was , Genoeg reden gezien de prijs kwaliteit die elders een stuk beter tot zijn waarde komt ons daar voorlopig niet meer terug te zien.

We had dinner here as a surprise for our friends and had a very nice evening. First we ordered cocktails, which were very tasty. As a starter we had the Carmel Plank to share with the 4 of us, highly recommended!! I had the surf & turf as a main course, and both the shrimp and the steak were very tasty. The staff was incredibly friendly. Price/quality ratio was also very good. All in all, we had a very nice evening. We will definitely come back here!!

The lunches were disappointing. I had smoked salmon. It was supposed to have cream cheese on it, but I couldn't find it. It wasn't dirty, but it wasn't very special. Girlfriend had the match matchy. Looked great on the map. It didn't look like much on the plate. Too bad, because it otherwise looks very nice. Staff were very friendly.

I thought the ham sandwich was a bit disappointing, while my husband's BBQ chicken was very good. It looked like a few slices of ham had been warmed up in the pan and placed over the bread underneath and drizzled with honey-mustard sauce, with a very small tuft of lettuce and half a cherry tomato... I found it very disappointing, too bad! !!

You can sit outside in the sun. We had cake and drinks, everything was delicious. Unfortunately the cake is very small for the price. Service is always friendly. Toilet very clean.

I have now eaten at Carmel twice and this is one of my new favorites in Den Helder. The atmosphere is luxurious but also cozy and cozy. The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is also great. And I have to admit, they make my favorite espresso martinis to date!!

Our first experience did not go completely smoothly and well, nevertheless the owner took responsibility to resolve this by reaching out and once again creating a better experience for us. We received a small compensation for this, which I also found very hospitable, that Caramel takes actual complaints or setbacks very seriously. The cocktails were very tasty, the mojito was very well made in my opinion. The waitress that evening was very competent and friendly to us, so we were able to make quite a few jokes with each other. It was cozy. The food "the devilish Gambas" and the "Burrata" were very well composed and tasted delicious. This in combination with a shared 1300g "Tomahawk steak" was great. The side dishes such as the vegetable quiche were also super tasty. We had a very delicious meal and enjoyed the evening and would love to come back again to try the other dishes and drinks! Super cozy and beautiful atmosphere. Compliments that it was possible this way! Thank you for the nice evening and see you next reservation.
