We first visited this small, charming restaurant. Persian music played in the background. A passionate, generous, and hospitable chef, eager to share his knowledge of Persian cuisine, welcomed us and offered advice. Delicious herbal tea. What delicious and healthy food! All the flavors in every bite. You can taste and feel the passion. Any leftovers we had were neatly sealed and sent back. I'd love to have this restaurant in my hometown. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be back.

In a word, amazing. Persian food at its finest. Carefully prepared by an excellent host. The dishes were truly unique. Fragrant and mildly spiced. They ranged from spinach in yogurt with rose petals to chicken in walnut sauce.

Had a fantastic meal again with Chef Abbas, so much passion for food.

Last week I did a cooking workshop with Chef Abbas. To start with we were allowed to taste some small dishes and while eating we were allowed to discuss what we wanted to cook. Some were vegetarian, that was no problem, everything was taken into account. We received extensive tips on how to cut something and everyone was put to work, one person had to cut, the other had to bake and Chef Abbas kept an overview and provided a lot of information. When we were done we sat down at the table and were served delicious food and afterwards we were also given the dishes we had cooked to take home. It was incredibly tasty and fun. Chef Abbas cooks with so much passion and knows how to involve everyone. I will definitely come back again

Not delicious, the place is small and narrow, there is no oxygen in the restaurant, and on top of that, a small plate of chicken with a plate of rice for 29 euros is too much, and the food is not Iranian at all, it is not delicious, I do not recommend visiting it

After a pleasant introduction to Denice and Johan, we had a surprisingly educational and enjoyable evening with our volunteer team led by a very enthusiastic chef. He taught us how to make beautiful dishes from Persian cuisine. Of course we were also able to taste Chef's skills, he had already secretly cooked for us. Very nice. We were certainly able to enjoy the evening afterwards, because we got to take home what we had made ourselves. Delicious! Highly recommended to have a meeting/brainstorm here with your team and definitely enjoy a delicious meal. Chef Abbas is a unique experience in itself, a star in the kitchen and serves an amazingly composed dish every time. I have never had tears in my eyes before because of how delicious the food is. He already liked coming here in Gorinchem, but now in Arkel he has a kitchen that suits him well and does even more justice to his food. Persian food is fantastic in itself and Abbas takes it to a new level. All in all I am a fan, I come here with love as often as I can. And every time I look forward to the next time. Had a fantastic experience with Chef Abbas. The owner is a passionate chef who likes to share his secrets. He proudly offers a taste of his freshly prepared dishes. The cooked eggplant with garlic was heavenly, the khoresh Bademjan delicious as well as the chicken. The khoresh Fesanjan was the absolute highlight. A classic dish prepared in an excellent way. Chef Abbas' hospitality completes the experience. If you want to get acquainted with Persian cuisine, this is definitely recommended.

I'll make my point immediately: For a surprising and authentic culinary experience, Chef Abbas is the place for you. The service is super friendly, the food is delicious because it is prepared with love, dedication and justifiable pride. Chef Abbas has mastered slow cooking to perfection and uses very tasty ingredients, a feast for the taste buds. Chef Abbas does not run a glorified kabab restaurant. Eating with him is an authentic Persian culinary experience. It doesn't get more "real" than with Chef Abbas.

Ordered for collection on Saturday. Was ready on time, well packed. Had a delicious meal at home. Recommended.

Fantastic restaurant and certainly good value for money. The chef makes an effort to explain the dish at the table and chat with each guest. We had a very nice evening and had a fantastic meal! Recommended!

Good food, but it unintentionally cost a lot of money. Asked for main courses mix for 2, but they were still served to the table for 3 people. Too much food with the starters. Unfortunately, this is not considered. Had to pay €162.50 and had a lot of food left.

What a special experience! A completely different evening than all those 13 in a dozen restaurants of today. Chef Abbas conjures up the most fragrant dishes from his open kitchen. He enthusiastically explains how he came up with those dishes and which special ingredients he used. A building that you can easily pass by, but where a well-kept Persian secret can be found inside! Recommended!

Pearl in Gorinchem. Comfort food, but healthy and affordable! Go for an Abbas ghorak morgh sandwich, you will never regret it!

Delicious food! The chef is a bit stressed, he does a lot alone. If you have special dietary requirements, he sometimes cooks especially for you, everything fresh. And very tasty.

Erg leuk, Abbas is erg gepassioneerd en kookt ook zo. Heerlijk vers, origineel en smaakvol. We hebben erg veel gegeten , een variatie aan voorgerechten en ook een mix van hoofdgerechten. We gaan nog een keer terug.

Zoveel vrienden en familie hebben dit restaurant als favoriet,heel bijzonder....

Heerlijk eten, aardig chef! We hebben zeer uitgebreid gegeten, met verschillende voorgerechten, en verschillende hoofdgerechten. We hebben meer dan genoeg gegeten, het eten was uitstekend. Een echte aanrader voor de Perzische keuken.

Super lekker gegeten! Je krijgt zeker waar voor je geld. De chef is erg aardig en vertelt leuk over zijn eten, merkt echt dat hij daar passie voor heeft. Hij serveert zijn eten ook zelf aan tafel. Je krijgt zoveel dat je lekker nog eten mee naar huis kan nemen, dit doet hij dan netjes in bakjes en geeft daar nog extra’s bij. Als je houd van sfeer, lekker eten, en een gezellig praatje moet hier heen gaan!

Ben je hier eenmaal geweest dan kom je zeker weer terug. Chef Abbas doet je versteld staan met de smaken van de Perzische keuken. Als je uiteten wilt, dan is het erg leuk om bij hem aan te schuiven. Er is een beperkt aantal plekken en het voelt alsof je in zijn keuken zit. Afhalen/bezorgen van maaltijden kan hier eveneens. Je kan ook bij hem terecht voor de catering van jouw (verjaardags)feest of bedrijfsevent. De volgende keer dat wij iets te vieren hebben staat Abbas op onze shortlist!

Dit is zo’n plek die je hoopt te vinden, maar eigenlijk nooit vindt. Een klein zaakje met waanzinnig goed eten waar je je eigenlijk afvraagt hoe het kan dat er nog een tafeltje beschikbaar is. Als je kan, ga erheen! (Ook als je niet kan of denkt niet van Perzisch eten te houden)

Gezellig restaurantje, heerlijk gegeten en goed bediend. Voor herhaling vatbaar!

Wat een smaaksensatie!!! Echt heel goed. Ga zeker vaker eten bestellen! Alles is super vers en echt perfect bereid. Aanrader!!!!!

Chef Abbas is een pareltje! De chef is duidelijk gepassioneerd over het eten uit zijn geboorte streek. Verteld er graag over en kan goede aanbevelingen doen. De chef kwam nog aan tafel een kleine workshop geven aan tafel over de kruiden die hij gebruikte. Voor de liefhebber bied hij ook kookworkshops aan. Wij hadden brood met 2 soorten yoghurt sausen erbij als vooraf. Daarna een tussen gerecht van olijven met een "tapenade" (hier deed de structuur mij aan denken) van walnoot en granaatappel, aangeboden door de chef. Als hoofdgerecht proeverij met diverse hoofdgerechten. Alles is erg goed van smaak. De prijs is ronduit goed voor de kwaliteit en hoeveelheid. En de restjes worden netjes in een bakje gedaan en geseald voor thuis. Let op! Er zijn slechts 12 plaatsen in het restaurant. Maar afhalen of bezorgen is ook een optie.

Het eten is echt fantastisch! Super gebalanceerde smaken. Alles kakelvers en authentiek bereid. Chef Abbas is erg gepassioneerd en vertelt graag over de herkomst en bereiding. Hij heeft de gerechten voor ons ook aangepast vanwege een allergie voor melkproducten. We konden de left-overs meenemen en dat was zelfs nog genoeg om de volgende dag van te eten. Zeker een aanrader dus!

In dit kleine zaakje met 12 stoeltjes heb je ook nog eens zijn gastvrije aandacht. En de jonge jongens in de keuken zijn al even gastvrij en enthousiast. Het is de rit naar Gorinchem meer dan waard. Wij gaan die toch heel regelmatig maken. Wat een ontdekking.
