The food is good, only the cake has changed; it's not as tasty anymore. I miss that specific flavor, which is a shame.

We have enjoyed coming here for lunch for years whenever we are out on the boat, and the food has actually always been delicious. Unfortunately, this time we were left disappointed. We arrived around 3:00 PM, sat down, and were subsequently told that they were closing because they felt it was too quiet. Very strange when you simply arrive during the stated opening hours. When we indicated that we didn't think this was very polite, we were also given a rude response by the staff. Very disappointing, especially since we have enjoyed coming here for years. Good food is important, but as far as we are concerned, customer friendliness and sticking to your opening hours are just as important. For us, in any case, this was a major letdown.

Delicious food for a reasonable price, on an overcrowded and packed terrace, which puts a lot of pressure on the staff. Who, by the way, remain very friendly.

Terrible service, people behavior like you are bothering, they simply ignore you if you want pay the bill or order something. Don’t recommend, we tried twice both times I was surprised how bad it was.

One waitress is sort of friendly. The other is too incapable to tell if there are any tables left and to carry a tray. The third looks like she ate a lemon tree for breakfast.

If you're spending a day out in Brielle, you really must have lunch here. What a lovely terrace, where friendly staff serve you a super delicious lunch. Extensive menu, large terrace by the water. Definitely go for it!

We had a super fun baby shower high tea. Everything was arranged down to the last detail, the food was delicious and plentiful, and the service was top-notch too! Highly recommended :)

Waittress ran away without taking our order, ice coffee was only half full. Got the ice coffee with hazelnut which was 50% nutella and a tiny bit of cream and coffee. They might be nice to regulars.

Very busy, but nice on the terrace

Yesterday I went for a meal at Chez Andre again. However, it is going downhill fast. It takes a very long time to get in touch with the staff. And when you finally get your food, little to no attention has been paid to it. We had a 12 o'clock soup that was poured over the cup, the bread wasn't toasted, there was a streak of butter on the bread under the croquette, and the egg I had asked to be double-fried was cooked on one side and burnt on the bottom. When we reported it, nothing was done about it. I also find it annoying that when you want to take your first bite, someone lights a cigarette next to you, because smoking is allowed on the terrace. I couldn't find out if there was a smoke-free zone? SO that was a one-time thing, never again. You won't see me here again.

On Saturday, May 30th, we were supposed to go for high tea with 4 people. We arrived, and their calendar stated there were no reservations. We were originally going to go in June, but we called to say it would be on May 30th. In their calendar, it said in June that it had been moved with an arrow, but they didn't reschedule it to May 30th. And they couldn't do anything for us; we were snapped at. No more Chez Andre for us. You can get sunburned with your high tea as far as I'm concerned.

Despite being understaffed and having a full terrace, the service was great and we had a delicious meal together. Dogs are also welcome and are provided with water.

It was spontaneous and I really enjoyed it. I even ordered an extra carpaccio roll/sandwich because it was so delicious.

Great place, but make the terrace smoke-free!!

At Chez André, you could easily get overwhelmed by the choices! An endless menu and something for everyone. The goat cheese toastie and carpaccio club sandwich were delicious, and with the coffee came not a small cookie but a large piece of cake. Friendly staff, highly recommended!

Delicious local food, beautifully presented. The service was incredibly friendly, and English was spoken. The location was also fantastic, right on the canal – there was always something to look at – and they even provided a water bowl for dogs.

We have been regulars at Chez André for at least 8 years, and yesterday was a real letdown. The terrace by the water was closed—which is understandable—but the terrace that was open was dirty, resulting in a lot of birds. People were also smoking, which quickly ruined our appetite. When I brought this up with the staff, the response was defensive and anything but understanding. It's a real shame, because my 5-star review has now become a 1-star… 😔

Truly amazing, we always go out for a nice meal with our little dog on Sundays. It's not too expensive and you get so much; it really is a paradise for big eaters.

I found the price-quality ratio of the High Tea to be very poor; how everything worked was not explained at all. Furthermore, no one asked if anyone preferred coffee, and the empty plates and dishes were not taken away after a new round and remained on the table for the entire High Tea. It did not look inviting. I did NOT think it was worth €30. I had lunch there years ago and that was very good.

I booked high tea but didn't think it was worth the price. €30.00 per person The snacks were on a shelf. There was also soup in the first rounds 🤔 The third rounds included scones, but they were freezing cold (like they came straight from the freezer). There was no cream, but whipped cream? There was also a waitress stomping up and down the stairs. I left with a headache. It was also very noisy. Next time I'll just sit on the terrace and have lunch because it's relatively cheaper for what you get. It's not the staff's fault; they really try their best. Except for that one lady with her stomping. But you don't have to worry about that on the terrace. 😀

We reserved a table and had a delicious meal on a sunny spring day. Highly recommended. It's quite busy. There's seating inside, but with a patio right outside and another one by the water, it's a lovely place to relax.

It's always busy here, and for good reason! The selection is enormous, the quality is top-notch, the prices are remarkably low, and the quantity is more than sufficient! And the service is also excellent (friendly and fast)!

The food is delicious there, but it's a shame there's so much cobweb dangling above your table. The lights, in particular, are outrageous and a fire hazard. I mentioned this a week or two ago, but unfortunately, nothing was done about it.

Lovely terrace and reasonably fast service. I just don't understand why one person only serves, another takes orders, and yet another settles the bill. Often, you want to order drinks right away when lunch is served, and that's simply not possible. Large portions, excellent quality, served quickly, and, especially by today's standards, very reasonable prices. Definitely recommended.

Very mediocre experience (read bad). The service is unprofessional; if you point this out, you get a rude response. Also, the food is cold during busy periods and the presentation is no longer neat, unfortunately. It is also quite pricey and there are long waits; unfortunately, it is not what it used to be here.

Good atmosphere, cozy terrace. We ordered the 12 o'clock snack. The bottom of the fried egg sandwich was hard, almost burnt. The staff were accommodating but still had to pay almost 40 euros for an iced tea, a coffee, and two 12 o'clock snacks. Such a shame.

After sitting outside for fifteen minutes, we asked if we could order something, but unfortunately, she wasn't authorized to take orders. I asked for the lunch menu, which she was happy to give us. After half an hour, no one had come to take our order. We just left; it was a hopeless endeavor.

Mensen die alleen wat wilde drinken moesten 2x van plaats wisselen te gek voor woorden. Zonde van deze zaak vroeger goed maar nu niet meer.

Our favorite lunch restaurant. Lots of choices. Good portions. Service was good today, unlike anything I've had in a long time. Reasonable prices. Lovely in the sun.

I emailed the following to Chez André. No response, so I'm posting it here: We always enjoyed coming here for lunch with the family, but our recent visit to Chez André in Brielle was utterly disappointing. The atmosphere among the staff was awkward and chaotic. A woman—presumably the manager—was gossiping loudly with a few young employees, right in the middle of the restaurant, audible to all the guests. Meanwhile, little attention was paid to the service. When a waitress asked for help, she was completely ignored. We were given red wine instead of red port, and even when it was corrected, we received the port in wine glasses. After that, no one bothered us, and we had to repeatedly ask for attention ourselves. The checkout was the absolute worst: my 83-year-old father had to wait a long time at the cash register while the staff were doing other things. When I raised my voice, I was treated unfriendly. Only after I raised my voice did someone reluctantly come to help. All in all, this visit was far from hospitable. We suspect we weren't the only ones who felt this way. It's a shame, because it was always a great place. Hopefully, something will be done with this feedback – but for now, we won't be coming back.

If, after a bike ride, you think we'll just stop by the Chez...and everything outside is taken, you think we'll just sit inside...but alas...the sign saying inside is closed today!

The food was fine, but ordering dessert was not possible. After hearing 'I'll be with you shortly, ma'am' three times, we were fed up. After all, they have coffee and apple pie everywhere. The kitchen can be as good as it can be, it's the service that makes the picture. Really a shame.

The food is certainly good and plentiful, but the service is a bit chaotic and the atmosphere could use some improvement. We'll definitely come back for the food.

A nice restaurant to have a nice meal. The food is fine. It is extremely dirty when you are eating on the terrace and someone next to you has to smoke. Why?

We sat here last Saturday. We were helped by a friendly young lady. What was unfortunately very disturbing was the way in which this young lady was taught by her manager. This was done in a disrespectful and conspicuous manner. I have often noticed that the atmosphere between the staff is not so pleasant. As a guest you are not sitting there eating in a relaxed way.

Bad service, kitchen closes at 4 p.m. but they don't close until 6 p.m

Worst place in all of Brielle and surrounding areas. Waiting 40 (!!!) minutes for 3 sandwiches, one piece off your plate, no one asking if you would like something to drink or whether it tastes good and ultimately an incorrect bill. No apologies or anything. (Service completely uninterested, but it also appears that they are paid ridiculously in terms of salary and even have to regularly go after their own money... not even an allowance for holidays.) Once but never again!!

Went to beautiful Brielle on May 5. Tried to have lunch at chez Andre on this busy day.. Unfortunately it didn't work... partly because we waited more than an hour for our order. These days are very busy. I took this into account to some extent, but ultimately decided to leave... Tip for the future... with days and festivities like this... use a customized menu... this will relieve the pressure on the staff... and the guests will also understand this... unfortunately not a good experience...

Had a late lunch today, the weather was great, the terrace was fairly full. There were more than enough girls serving, which was a pity that we were ignored for more than 15 minutes. And then we had to speak to 2 girls from the service to ask if we could finally order something. Both ladies were not authorized to take an order, after some time the lady who was allowed to do so came. Fortunately, after that we had a drink in 5 minutes, and lunch again 10 minutes later. While we were having lunch, the staff complained a lot among themselves, and they also made these expressions right next to our table. I understand that the season is starting and that it can be busy. But don't complain to a customer, first consider whether you want to work in the hospitality industry... I have been coming to André for years, but you notice that the feeling is gone from your staff. Shame man! I would prefer to give you 5 stars. Because the food, price and quality are top!

Today we had lunch on the terrace of Chez Andre... Everything was right at this restaurant (lunchroom) They still exist 🙂!! Good "relaxed" service. Very good and diverse menu (and quite large) sandwiches, salads, etc. And very well maintained, maintained by the kitchen, so very fresh! Highly recommended to have lunch there when you are in Brielle!

After a dip, Andre is almost completely back to his old excellent quality. The vulgar staff has been replaced by friendly staff. The food is tasty and well prepared. Nice that we can enjoy ourselves at Chez Andre again.

We have been coming to Chez Andre every week for years, but lately we have been annoyed by the service. We even walked away from the terrace for the first time because we were completely ignored. We know that there is a staff shortage, but if there are 5 tables occupied on the terrace, of which we are one, and there are 2 girls walking around, you don't want to wait fifteen minutes without someone coming to you to take your order or at least someone letting you know that she has seen you and will come to you. André, your employees really need to do this better! This has been happening for a long time now. It's a shame because the food and the fresh pastries and cake with the coffee are fantastic. (3 stars for the atmosphere, because inside it is cozy but very dated)

What a cozy place to have a cup of coffee and of course with cake I had the apple pie with it and that was a great pleasure just like my mother used to make them. Staff is also super friendly and hospitable and the place itself I love these kind of tents cozy old-fashioned atmosphere with a modern touch and super nice sitting.

The food arrives blackened, and then you have to ask what is wrong with it... The lady behind the cash register thinks it is normal to shake her head no at her customers when you indicate that something is not edible. All in all, not worth repeating.
