I order takeout from here every now and then. I don't order Chinese food anywhere else but from you. It's not around the corner for us, but because we like your food, we drive there especially. 👌

Unfortunately, our visit was disappointing. The restaurant feels cold, bleak, and outdated. We were seated at a corner table where the staff said the heater would be, but it turned out not to be on at all. This made the whole experience uncomfortable. No prawn crackers or cassava to start, as is usually the case. An order was delivered incorrectly, and when we pointed this out, we were told we hadn't communicated it correctly. Furthermore, the prices in the restaurant are considerably higher than for takeout. We paid around €76 for three dishes, Chinese tea, and a cola—really expensive for what you get. The food was decent, but the atmosphere, service, and price will keep us from returning.

They're not friendly there, the food is mediocre, the spring roll only has bean sprouts in it, with a few pieces of ham. Very greasy too. You're better off going a bit further to the Golden Dragon.

We've been coming here for years and were always very satisfied with the quality of the food. The monthly menu for 3 to 4 people was a favorite for years: before 2021, it cost €34.95, with a large cup of peanut sauce for €3.55. After living in Deventer for three years, we naturally expected price increases due to inflation and higher energy prices. The monthly menu now costs €42.95 – an increase of about 22%, but still excellent value for money. The slightly less meat in the babi pangang is also understandable given the rising prices of pork. What really disappointed us, however, was the price of the large cup of peanut sauce. It seems to have doubled to around €7.00, without this being clearly stated on the menu. This makes it unclear. When we inquired about this, we unfortunately received a rather unfriendly response. The employee even indicated that we had "had a discussion about this before," which is incorrect – although this seems to suggest that more customers were surprised by this. For comparison: a cup of peanut sauce with four skewers of meat costs €7.50, while meat is considerably more expensive than sauce. The pricing is therefore difficult to understand. All in all, we find it a shame that not only the price, but especially the customer service and transparency have changed so much. Therefore, we regrettably choose not to return.

We ate the Cantonese rice table. Tasty and very different dishes than what we often eat at the Chinese. Portions were not very big, because everything was eaten clean, but it was sufficient. We were not asked in between whether everything was sufficient. It was a pity that it was very quiet in the restaurant and therefore not very atmospheric. But the food was good and that's what we came for!

After reading the reviews we thought this must be great. But unfortunately it was just not edible. Babi pangang no taste Ɓami clef Koe lou kei balls, wet, soft, sticky mess We won't be back as a waste of money

We are not from Deventer ourselves, but we are always happy to drive a little extra. We can't think of a better Chinese/Indian restaurant in the area. Always delicious food and good service, because if we indicate that we are coming from further away, it is always wrapped extra thickly so that the food stays nice and warm. Top!!!

we had a very good meal here. Every now and then we go for Chinese food, and then not "Dutch-Chinese".. what we ate here was actually the best in years at a Chinese restaurant! Compliments! If we are in the area we will definitely come back! Unfortunately we live 150 km away!

Even when it's really busy, there's no noticeable loss of quality. Even though I've moved a lot further away, when I eat Chinese it comes from here❤️

Went to China City because the regular restaurant I go to was closed for holiday. Was told on the phone it would take an hour - in reality it was more than 1.5 hour waiting for takeaway, like many other clients. The staff was incredibly busy. My guess is that more restaurants in the area were closed and they got all the customers and they did not quite anticipate the volume. They did the best they could, but they could have said it would take well over an hour. Worse was that several sauces were bland - probably diluted and added starch. My guess is that they might fear running out of ingredients? Anyway - this requires another visit to make a definite conclusion.

Went there at 4pm, had to wait 30 minutes. Taste was mediocre and I received the comment that they had made a mistake with the price, the product would be €1.40 more expensive next time Next time I'll get it elsewhere

I got takeout from here a while ago and it was delicious. I ordered Tjap Tjoy with noodles. The Tjap Tjoy was tasty, but in my opinion it did not contain enough salt and could therefore sometimes taste a bit too mild. The pieces of chicken fillet were delicious. The noodles were tasty, with enough pieces of egg and meat in it. Sometimes you see at restaurants that this is not done, but China City does. The employees were very friendly. I immediately felt welcome and it felt very homely. What's a shame is that unfortunately they don't offer delivery. Nevertheless, a good restaurant with quite tasty food and, above all, very friendly service. Highly recommended.

Tasty food, friendly service. Often busy and can therefore take a little longer. But I think it says enough that it's busy 😅 Well maintained aquarium for entertainment while waiting.

Food was okay (just Chinese). Took a very long time, bad NL, the staff could be a lot friendlier and it is really expensive! I will order from someone else next time (not possible here either)

Het eten hier is eigenlijk altijd top. Supervriendelijke mensen en een topservice. Deze mensen denken altijd oplossingsgericht.

Precies wat je kunt verwachten van een afhaalchinees / Chinees restaurant. Uitgebreid menu. Handig om snel iets te halen of te eten. Goede service, altijd het juiste geleverd. Blijft mijn vaste adresje.

we lieten ons door de kok een keuze maken . en dat heeft zeer lekker gesmaakt variërend van krab garnalen tot vlees gerechten. iedereen ging met een goede induk van tafel . we waren met 8 man . niet groot maar knus gezellig en goed eten . echt een aanrader

Helemaal vanuit Brabant gekomen om hier te gaan eten. Supergoed chinees restaurant! Alles is vers, goed verzorgd en we konden er zelfs 2 dagen van eten! Zeer goede prijs en kwaliteitsverhouding!

De restaurant is enigszins gedateerd, maar het eten is goed en de bediening is vriendelijk en gastvrij.

Vanuit Amsterdam naar regio Epse/Gorssel verhuist. Helaas geen goede Chinees in de buurt. Na lang zoeken en veel testen echt de allerbeste van heel de regio Deventer gevonden. Geweldig, ook Indische rijsttafel echt top. Fijn dat jullie er zijn, authentieke Chinees met perfecte prijs-kwaliteit verhouding.

Vanmiddag heerlijk geluncht in restaurant China City in Deventer. Superleuke serveerster Ting raadde de bami Rames aan en die was echt heel erg lekker! Ik kom er zeker nog een keertje eten als ik weer op bezoek ben bij mijn tante!

Heerlijk gegeten. Echt een Leuke ervaring! En een mooi restaurant.

Ik heb door de jaren heen meerdere chinese restaurants geprobeerd. China city is dan toch wel de beste moet ik zeggen.

Heerlijk gegeten en ruime porties. Vriendelijke medewerkers.

Dag van te voren catering incl. bestek en borden besteld voor 20 personen. Werd ivm corona voor de deur neergezet. We haalden het zelf naar binnen. Het bleef een paar uur warm. Het was heerlijk. Top, aanrader

Er zaten botten in de kip-ketjap. En niet alleen hele botjes als normaal in kippenpootjes, maar ook afgebroken botjes in de kip en losse stukjes bot in de saus.

In 2003 ben ik in Deventer komen wonen. Sindsdien altijd al hetzelfde maandmenu (afhaal)☺️ maar nog altijd even goed!

Op tijd bezorgd en de bakjes zijn goed gevuld vooral hun geroosterde spek is heerlijk

Woensdagavond d.d. 09-06-2021 een hoofdgerecht "Nasi goreng Yeung Chow met kleine garnalen en chasiu" besteld. Het gerecht valt vies tegen. Het geheel ziet er bleekjes uit net alsof je een hoofdgerecht cap cay besteld hebt met witte rijst of nasi goreng of bami goreng erbij. Als iemand met een Aziatische roots (Hokkien) mis ik de smaak van soy sauce (kecap asin), vis sauce, kecap manis en oyster sauce. Bovendien mis ik ook de smaak van knoflook, uien en lente-uitjes of prei. Kraak noch smaak!

Voor het eerst hier eten afgehaald We hadden het maand menu voor 3 a 4 personen. Wij waren met 4(grote eters) en hadden nog over. Smaakte erg goed!! Vooral de Chinese tomatensoep en het vlees van de babi pangang vond ik super!!

1 van de betere restaurants van DEVENTER onder de categorie Chinees. Goed eten en ook niet abnormaal duur. Niet zo vet als bij de meeste Chinezen in deventer

Nasi ramas speciaal en bami ramas gewoon. De rook komt uit je oren🤯 Ik wet dit vaker hoor maar deze is TE scherp. We zitten met een loopneus en tranende ogen🤤

Haal hier eten af als ik zin heb in chinees. Erg lekker en snelle service. Had een punt meer gekregen als de prijzen iets lager zouden zijn.
