Delicious food! This time we had dim sum; they have all sorts of different dishes.

They Said « kitchen closes at 9 » while restaurant closes at 10…why not closing kitchen at 8??

One of the best Chinese restaurant in Rotterdam with a big selection. The food is authentic and tasty but just don’t expect to be the service to be good. Every time I go here, I feel like I’m back in the old days of china, the staffs are unfriendly and rude. Since the food is good, it really would be better if they can improve the service as well. Peking duck, shrimp and asparagus spring roll and the shrimp with some crumbs(forgot the name of the dish) is recommended!

The food is delicious, but the service is poor. Wrong food and drinks aren't returned, but you still get charged for them. No one comes to ask if you'd like something to eat or drink.

Tai Wu is my favorite Chinese restaurant, serving the highest quality authentic Chinese food. It has a lovely atmosphere, is always cozy, and the rotating tables are super convenient! My favorite dish is the Peking duck pancakes—delicious! You have to try them. You have to try this place! The owner is super sweet and hardworking. 我爱你 ♥️

I got two delicious takeaway meals. One with honey chicken and the other with nasi goreng shrimp and pork. In a word, "Delicious." Definitely recommended.

Food is always very tasteful and the staf is helpful. Sometimes around noon it gets very crowded, but its all worth! Menu's are also in english.

I found the food average. The ho fan, unfortunately, wasn't comparable to Full Moon's. The chicken breast in stir-fried sauce with vegetables was disappointing and tasteless. The Peking duck with pancakes and the nasi goreng, on the other hand, were quite tasty, though the portions were on the small side. What was truly disappointing was the service. When we asked the waitress what the chef's specials were, she said she didn't have time and that we should choose something from the menu ourselves. Another employee didn't respond at all when we asked him anything—not in Mandarin, Cantonese, Dutch, or English. All in all, not a pleasant experience, mainly due to the poor service.

TAI WU is temporarily closed! We made a reservation for October 25th, but we were met with a closed door. Tai Wu didn't even call. So we ate at the neighbors', and luckily we could go to Chinatown. After inquiring, it turns out Tai Wu has been closed since Friday, October 24th. This note is stuck on the front door.

The dry fried beef noodles were delicious! The seafood was fresh and sweet. The price was cheaper than the Yue Man Lou in The Hague. I would definitely go there again.

Got passed an older soup, most likely from last night. Extremely disappointing as the restaurant I usually visit around here was closed that day. Staff are helpful but the restaurant is extremely busy so it can take a few attempts to order or quite a long time.

Took more than one hour for our take away to be ready. They did not informed anything when we order, when asked they just asked us to wait with no estimation when will it be ready. Definitely not worth to spend your time here!!

The menu is very confusing and the numbers on the menu don't match. The business is very good, but the service attitude is very poor and impatient. The food portions are very big! So I give it one star.

The food is like frozen food from China Eastern Airlines. This restaurant can survive only because Chinese food in the Netherlands is not competitive. The living environment is too good. Delicious food at a reasonable price. It's quite busy, but that's obviously because it's a popular restaurant. So, the wait for your food can be a bit long, but it's worth it.

Good authentic Chinese in Rotterdam with more than 40 years of experience

I come here regularly. Delicious Cantonese food. Unlike other Chinese restaurants, this one is the closest to the Chinese food I'm used to from my childhood in Suriname. Dim sum is still the best in Rotterdam.

Food is tasty but bit on the pricier side. The service obviously understaffed as they're always busy serving/cleaning, but ordering drinks take an awful long time. It's really noisy and dark inside, so I feel the place is more for a quick meal

They're crazy about money! I ordered a bottle of mineral water, but they brought me a bottle of tap water! Yes, they did! Tap water, and they're selling it for a ridiculously high price! This bottle of tap water costs €5.50! They use recycled glass bottles, fill them with tap water, and sell it as mineral water! Absolutely disgusting!

I used to give Taiwu more stars, but today was the last time. Upon entering, the strong toilet smell immediately ruined my appetite. Everything seemed dirty and old. The staff was arrogant and unhelpful. They don't even pay attention to the little things in the food: the cucumbers and leeks with the duck weren't fresh, the cilantro in the other dish was already yellow, and the beef hofeng was pretty bland this time. A real shame.

Very disappointing this time! Since the coronavirus pandemic, this has been one of the best Cantonese restaurants in the area. But today was truly the worst experience ever. Upon entering, you immediately noticed a sewer leak. The staff was very unfriendly and unhelpful. The menu was completely worn out; you practically didn't want to hold it. The food was tasteless. The parsley, cucumber, and spring onions were far too old and dry for restaurant quality. It seems the chef isn't present, but only regular staff who don't perform any quality control. I could write a whole page about hygiene, but I wouldn't have the time. Unfortunately, this was our last visit.

Authentic Chinese food, very large portions, which you have to take into account when ordering. The decor is very authentic and has a retro feel. The place is very spacious, not very intimate, so I thought I was in a Kill Bill movie. The prices are very affordable and in line with what we ordered.

The restaurant smelled like pee when you first entered, however if you are capable of withstanding the smell until the food arrives, it is worth it. The food is really good, especially the stir-fry beef rice noodles. We did get a dirty cup, however it was replaced once asked for it. All in all, I would say hygiene not so good- but food could make it worth it.

All the tipan dishes were downright disappointing, if you've seen a picture of the tenderloin, you only get tough large pieces of tenderloin stir-fried with only onion for 25 euros...... Or lamb chop with Chinese sauce also stir-fried with only onion.

The dim-sum appetizers were quite nice, the sie tjoi (which they initially forgot to bring) and fried noodles with char siu (hardly any meat) were so so. Bad service and quite expensive. The big Chinese groups seemed to get the VIP treatment today. Not a great experience …

Great dim sum places. Lots choose with fair price. We booked our table at 12 noon. Entire restaurant was full by 12:20.

Today went for lunch. A Male tall staff with glasses was not friendly and honestly rude! He came to the table and picked up the order, I pointed with my finger ON the menu what i want as I couldn't see and read the small numbers on the menu. He got irritated and started being loud with his voice as he want me to say the number of the menu i keep showing him what i want, BUT he was getting angry! still, honestly, i don't know why. I keep myself cool and polite I was disappointed and felt embarrassed as all around was customer looking....I dont no what was his issue...anyway I order my food and the other staff famele was nice and polite....I finish and I left.... The food was ok One dish the Rijs Rolls was not nice very, very starchy The roast pork was good. The veggies and other dishes was ok..... I'm still disappointed with the behaviour of these male staff....

The food isn't always delicious. A few of the older men serving can speak Dutch well, but most (especially the women) don't speak or understand Dutch very well, which often leads to errors with orders. We also occasionally order takeout, but that's not recommended. The containers are often underfilled and there's often not enough chicken.

We had a very disappointing experience at Taiwu. Our group used separate order sheets for convenience, and a waitress came over with a very rude and sarcastic attitude, saying we used “too much paper.” When we offered to consolidate the orders, she told us to stop writing because we’d “already used enough.” However, we have never been told :one table can only use one order sheet. Later, when we asked for more water, she didn’t say a word—just walked over and took the jug from our table. Every staff member we interacted with looked annoyed and unwelcoming. Interestingly, we noticed they treated Dutch male customers much more politely, even with smiles—definitely double standards. Btw, they charged for takeaway boxes and bags but never informed us in advance. It’s not about the small extra cost—it’s about lack of transparency and basic respect for customers. This wasn’t a one-time issue; the poor attitude seemed consistent across the staff, like it’s part of the culture there. Honestly, it made us wonder how a restaurant can operate like this for so long. I don’t recommend this place to anyone who values fair treatment and decent service.

Excellent, classic flavors tailored to the Dutch. After many relocations, they remain the tastiest in Rotterdam and the surrounding area. They still make their own spring rolls. You can tell by the ingredients, but also by the prices, which are from before the inflationary surge. Fantastic.

Just had dinner at Chinese Cabtonees on Westersingel. I was craving some good, authentic Cantonese food, especially after those four days of top-quality food in Sydney earlier this year. This restaurant had 4.1 stars, so I thought: that's all right. But no, I was quite disappointed. The Peking duck with rice and vegetables was very salty, lacking in flavor, and nothing special. The vegetables were bland, and the duck wasn't crispy or special. The service was fast, and there were Chinese guests, so I had high hopes—but alas. Not a second time for me. More of a cheap eatery than a place for truly good food. If you just want a quick and cheap, inauthentic "Chinese" meal, fine. But don't expect top-notch quality.

Yesterday we had dinner again here, the service is terrible. We waited very long time before we finally can order. The two ladies were very rude and unfriendly. It’s not the Tai Hu Ju which we used to know, much worse now. I don’t think we’ll come back again. — below the experience from last time Dishes are okay, but far from the level several years ago. I ordered the dish (bi feng tang chao xie) which I like the most. But they told me that they don’t even have it now. Then I ordered “bi feng tang zhong Xia “, it is tasteless. We ordered “hei Jiao niu liu”, but we got onion-beef. Luckily the taste is ok. The 4 dim sums are delicious. The restaurant is a bit over- crowded, the service is bad. They even forget one of our ordered dishes. And We asked for “ju Hua cha “, but what we got is “ mo li Hua cha “. The total experience is not as we expected.

Great Cantonese food, service could be better. A smile or friendly face and not like Chinese people come across to Westerners "blunt and tight face". It is always busy, so reservations are necessary. You don't have to speak Cantonese, but I do understand although I speak a different dialect or Mandarin.

A very authentic Cantonese restaurant in the Netherlands. If it is not the best, I personally think it is at least in the top three. The menu system in the restaurant is very complicated - there is a traditional à la carte menu, a dim sum menu, and a chef's recommendation menu written in black and white. There are several dishes on the chef's recommendation menu that cannot be found on the other two menus. The restaurant is very large, with a very traditional Chinese decoration style, and it looks a certain age. The service level of the restaurant is singled out, and there is still room for improvement. But compared with the Cantonese restaurants next to Rotterdam, it is still better. It may be a general deficiency of traditional Cantonese/Hong Kong restaurants. As for the food, there is nothing to say. It may be a little different from the Cantonese restaurants in Guangdong, but compared with the Cantonese cuisine in other provinces and cities, which is mainly pre-prepared, Rotterdam's Taihuju seems much more delicious. Authentic Chinese cuisine in a lively setting Tai Wu is a large Cantonese-style Chinese restaurant with an extensive menu that makes you want to try everything. We tried the crispy pork and the beef, two very well-executed dishes. The flavors are there, the service is quite fast, and although the prices are a little high, the quality is there. A good option for a generous and authentic Chinese meal.

Tasty dishes with fast service in the center of Rotterdam within walking distance of central station. Spacious inside, enough seats. The food is tasty and quickly on the table. Enjoyed the nasi and shrimps. Great place to eat well. Worth repeating. However, I do not find the restaurant very atmospheric, perhaps because it is massive.

One of the busiest dimsum 🥟🥠🥡 in town, always busy with mostly Asians dining with few locals as honoured guests 🙏🏿 affordable with fast service 🏎, in fact if they forgot your order they make it quicker, go figure...if you want to take a photo ask the friendly elderly gentleman, not the super busy ladies...a must visit, again and again..

What a crap dim sum restaurant, very poor service, disinterested staff, tasteless food, very substandard, a real shame for your wallet. Often eaten dimsum in The Hague or Amsterdam, but this Chinese thinks guests will come anyway and don't believe other reviews, because it is really worthless. Find another one nearby.

The staff is not interested in it and you have to do your best to get their attention so that you can order something. In any case, they (in general) do not ask themselves if there is anything they can do for you. In terms of atmosphere it is, well, not very special? A large space with many tables. The food is 'ok' but not distinctive compared to other Chinese restaurants.

Food in generous proportion and very authentic. Something hard to find in Europe these days. Two workers were rather cold and not so responsive. One woman was alright.
