Best Cantonese restaurant in NL that I am aware of. Very busy, walk in during busy hours not recommended.

This is not real Chinese food at all.

Simply SUPER. The atmosphere, the food, sometimes you think "am I in China?".

Food was really good, enjoyed it. Will definitely go back, staff are friendly.

The staff is not interested in it and you have to do your best to get their attention so that you can order something. In any case, they (in general) do not ask themselves if there is anything they can do for you. In terms of atmosphere it is, well, not very special? A large space with many tables. The food is 'ok' but not distinctive compared to other Chinese restaurants.

Food in generous proportion and very authentic. Something hard to find in Europe these days. Two workers were rather cold and not so responsive. One woman was alright.

Staff is very unfriendly, could not find the reservation that was made a week in advance and could not do anything for you!

We have been coming here for years, but the rat in the hallway and the uninterested reactions of the staff about the rat have really ruined our appetite. Apparently those rats are part of the contents. The food is great, the room is very noisy and without atmosphere.

One of the best Chinese restaurants for traditional and authentic dishes. Together with Kwong Chow, Tai Wu is the absolute winner for us. Also evidenced by the number of Chinese who come to eat here. In terms of dishes, the duck with pancakes is the winner. But many dumplings that are also insanely good (and some complex). Very good spring roll with shrimp. The water chestnut. Too many to mention.

You come here for the food! That's really worth it.

6/5. Wonderful restaurant, authentic Cantonese restaurant

This place really needs to be experienced. The food is great, but this operation is truly impressive! They have 60-80 tables that I could see, plus an upstairs with who knows how many tables. The main menu is 15 pages, then there’s a dim sum menu with 200 different kinds! All this, and my app was out less than 10 minutes after ordering. Warning to Americans: you won’t get asked how your meal is, or if you need anything… you’ll just get very efficient service and get what you ordered. I really enjoyed my experience, but plan to do more research before going back… the number of options can be overwhelming!

Authentic and super tasty yum Cha/dim sum in Rotjekenor aka Rdam

Very good canton food, especially the steamed dim sum. What we ordered, the tastes are almost same as they are in canton. Very happy and satisfied with the food.

The quality of the food here cannot be compared to that of the 'Chinese on the corner'. We have been coming here for years and always receive a friendly welcome.

I used to feel very comfortable with their service, but that is no longer the case. Especially the man at the door was very rude, which was a very unprofessional service. I heard from my Chinese friends that the food here is not authentic Chinese. So if you want to go to an authentic restaurant, I recommend you avoid it...😊😊

To be honest, the food is delicious. But don’t expect the taste to be better than other Cantonese dishes in the Netherlands. Friends who are demanding about taste can just ignore this restaurant. The service attitude of the man at the door is extremely poor, he also curses and is only aggressive towards Chinese people.

Good dim sum in an authentic restaurant. You don't have to go for service with a smile, but that's part of this type of restaurant. The restaurant is a bit noisy and despite making a reservation we had to wait about 10 minutes for a table - but once you are seated, you are comfortable with enough privacy.

One of the better authentic Chinese restaurants, just as good if not better than in China Town The Hague. Food was really delicious (Peking duck and suckling pig). At Chinese New Year there was even a lion dance

Who made the food? At least not the chef. As if the dishes had not been stir-fried with fire. Taste and ingredients were hard to find. There was no difference in level with the dishes I make at home, but much cheaper and better in taste! We paid €125 for four people and dishes. It is not worth repeating. Better drive to The Hague. So that's what I did the next day and it was super tasty.

Always good Chinese food for a reasonable price. Last few times, pepper sauce prawns and pepper sauce chicken were tasteless, hence 4 stars. The rest of the food was excellent

You don't go for the only ok food or the unfriendly and service (which alternates between neglect and panic), but because where else can you go for a meal after 10 or so - and because eating there has been a ritual for decades.

A Chinese restaurant with real Chinese dishes, not all of which are adapted to European tastes. As a result, the restaurant is also 80% full of guests of Chinese descent. If you want to taste real Chinese dishes, this is the place to be.

Too big and impersonal. Quality was less. Nasi not seasoned with large pieces of meat. Meat and other dishes were good.

Waitress was not customer friendly. Service was not good. Snow peas were not cooked. The rest of the food was good to eat. We were put in a corner because there was no room. For what you get, the price was quite high...

It is a relic from another time. That's for sure. Huge menu with a lot of choice, where the classic separate menu for Chinese or Dutch is gone. The ordering method has been adopted from the dim sum restaurants, fill in the form. The result was that we received our main course, an excellent tenderloin, first, the side dishes only 10 meters later and the things we had ordered as a starter last, food was good. You certainly don't go there for the quiet surroundings.

Today we started our day trip to Rotterdam as usual with lunch at Tai Wu. Previously, the staff was friendly, warm, hospitable and efficient, but unfortunately that is no longer the case. From the start we felt like we were being ignored. Perhaps because of the crowds, we fully understand this. However, after being ignored for a long time, we still had to ask for service by raising a hand and saying please. You then got the most irritated response in return. Even when the crowds dwindled, you were treated the same way. Very sad to experience this. The food was average, but with this bad aftertaste, I will skip Tai Wu from now on. They wouldn't miss one more or less customer, but I wouldn't drive an hour for this again. As a customer I don't have to be supported on two hands, but there must be mutual respect.

In Christmas day, it was completely full of customers and the queue reached to the entrance. In the boxing day, there was vacancy and I was a walk-in customer(better have them called before you went to this restaurant). I ordered stir-fry beef rice noodle and salt pepper chicken meat balls. They both taste like Hong Kong food and are delicious. Service is satisfactory and like all other Chinese restaurants. Atmosphere is that all customers are talking around. If you want to taste Hong Kong restaurant, this is the one.

Actually just a really nice, authentic experience. Enjoyed it immensely!

The familiar environment and language made me feel friendly. The food quality was also good and the portions were full. The two of us ordered five dim sum including barbecued pork sausage, chicken buns, Teochew vermicelli, chicken feet and pork ribs rice and steamed pork ribs. Finally, we ordered As for the packed rice and chicken buns.

Disappointing experience and poor service. My second visit to this restaurant was super disappointing. I ordered Chinese noodles with Peking duck, but the server decided that I meant something else. I ended up getting a dish I never ordered. When I asked where my Peking duck was, I was told that I had not ordered it - even though I am sure I had stated so. Things got even stranger during dessert. While I was still eating, salt, pepper and other items were suddenly placed on my table, probably intended for the next guests. This felt disrespectful and uncomfortable, like I was already being chased away.

Best Chinese restaurant in the Netherlands. The tastiest food in this area.

Food: we ordered mixed meat and honey chicken with nasi. Upon arrival the food was cold and had to ask to heat it back up.. it was still not as warm as I would have hoped. The taste was okay but I could get the same quality for a much lower price. I could also tell that the food was not very fresh. Service: staff was friendly and engaging. The food was brought within 10 minutes. I did enjoy the jasmine tea. All in all I wouldn’t suggest this restaurant to anyone that I know because the quality/taste for that price is quite insane.

Delicious real Chinese cuisine. It's just okay. Make sure you reserve in advance, it's always full.

Today when we were eating, we saw a big rat running nearby us. Other customers also witnessed this and got shocked. After my husband and I got home, our stomach also got wired and feel unfortunate. And when customers and us saw the big rat, the staff just acted normally like nothing happened.

20€ for a fried rice that tastes like an old used oil is not worth it price could have been lower because it wasn't that good. Just so so....

Tasty food but hygiene needs to be improved Today we visited the Tai Wu restaurant in Rotterdam. The food was delicious as always, and no wonder it's always packed. Today we were the first customers when the restaurant opened. Unfortunately, we discovered that the toilets weren't clean at all - right at the beginning of the day! My son was the first guest to use the toilet and it was already in a state that was really disappointing. This raises the question: Why isn't there a thorough cleaning here, especially before opening?

Always tasty, good service and affordable. Eat on site or pick up and enjoy at home!

Tai Wu is a very authentic Chinese restaurant in Rotterdam. It is a little piece of Shanghai in Rotterdam. My favourite. Excellent food, but the service is basic.

I didn't like the food. We received something that we didn't order. Was told that what I ordered is now made differently. There were six of us. The food was brought one by one over 25 minutes. The staff is very unfriendly and that is putting it mildly. Inside it was dark, extremely noisy, extremely echoing. All in all not a nice experience.

The best Chinese restaurants in Rotterdam. We came back after a couple of years. The fish was still very tasty. Shrimp Dumplings, so good! we had no reservation in a busy evening,Nnengming Wang helped us to be seated when saw my child. Very kind and respectful! Atmosphere is casual and it is very good value for the money.

We went for Dim Sum and loved it. The lotus leaf wrapped rice, chicken and chinese sausages were my favorite. Will definitely go back.

Very tasty Chinese food of good quality. The Chinese fried noodles with BBQ pork and side dish #5 were outstanding. If we are in Rotterdam again we will eat here again. We were there in the afternoon around 4 p.m. and there was free choice of table.

Let's see, as a Spaniard, for me this is Chinese, expensive Chinese, I associate Chinese with cheap. The service was average, the rude guy making faces at me because I didn't understand what I was asking. The food is delicious, seriously, delicious. Why is it worth it? Why is it full of them and why is it super delicious. I insist. Expensive but delicious. I go alone and of course, it shows. For two you can eat cheaper than me who goes alone. I paid €44 for some noodles, some spring rolls, two beers, coffee and Chinese bread. Don't order coffee

The staff was unfriendly from the moment we walked in. You couldn't get tap water, only Spa blue, which is understandable, but if you get tap water in a strange bottle, you are being fooled. We were asked in advance whether we wanted both dishes 'together', which we thought was a strange question because we assumed portions for 1 person. So we said 'yes' to this. Then the Peking duck was served (it was just lukewarm) and the other dish (koe loe kou) almost 10 minutes later. In between I asked 3 times if the 2nd dish was also coming and each time the response was impatient. The second dish tasted good but some of the meat was very hard. During the meal, a lady with a trolley with crates full of dirty dishes came by several times to clear the various tables. No drama, but uncharming. Overall a disappointing experience, especially as we had heard good things about this restaurant.

Lots of choice, but in general I think it looks very similar. Meat is tasty. Service is quite impersonal. Ambiance is quite old-fashioned, as if they last did something 20 years ago. The toilets were old and dirty, entrance was dirty, furniture old.

This is by far my favourite chinese restaurant. I try to eat here or get a take out each time I am in Rotterdam. The sweet and sour pork is so delicious, I am sometimes dream about it. Don’t forget to reserve a table because they are busy every day of the week

The food tastes good, with authentic Cantonese flavor

I wish I had read the reviews before coming here. With such poor service and environment, the food doesn’t taste good no matter how good it is, not to mention the taste is mediocre. What a surprise! ! The waiter acted like he owed them money. The xiaolongbao had no taste. The fried noodles only tasted salty. The chicken feet were average. I don’t know where the good reviews came from.

Food was good. Although we couldn't order many dishes because we were only two, we saw a large number on the table next to us. English descriptions in addition to Dutch on menu. Quite crowded. Today I went to Taihu with my friend who just came back from a business trip. Since I haven’t met him for quite a while, we decided to meet at Taihu to enjoy the Chinese food there. We ordered a few dim sums and Kung Pao Chicken at around 19:00. Then by 19:30, we have all dishes placed on the table. Until now, it was all fine. The dimsums are quite nice but Kung Pao chicken was really below the expectations to be honest. But it is ok overall, we were fine with the food since for us to meet for a catch up is more important than food itself. However, we were shocked by their impolite or better call offending service since while we were still chatting after eating, the waitress just brought the bill to us and asked to pay( knowing that, the two white customers sitting one table further next to us, were doing the same thing like we did but were not asked to pay to leave at all) … We were really shocked. How possible such a service still existing in the NL? And how should the waitress expect us to understand her different way of treating people? Was it because we both are Asian customers, so they could expect us to keep accepting such way of serving? We pointed it out to the waitress since it is really not a proper way of serving but we didn’t feel she really admitted this is WRONG way of serving but she kept saying that we were here already two hours and there are people waiting for a table. ( but it is not really the case and it was already around 21:00). Later on, I shared this story with my dutch friends. They all are also shocked and even said this is really a SHAME for a restaurant, which has been existing in Rdam for so many years and asked me to better report it.. After serious thinking, I decided to share this story here and hopefully the owner could see it and take it as lesson-learned for future improvements. Thank you and it was really not a pleasant dining experience!!!

What a disappointment. My parents used to come here when they lived in Rotterdam but their memory is completely different from the restaurant we found today. Leaving aside the extreme rudeness of the staff who practically throws the dish on the table, what we ate was: badly cooked, fried in oil that was last changed months ago (the rolls were literally leaking), excessively generous portions (without having been be warned) and too expensive (a plate of vegetables €18). We are really very disappointed and cannot explain how the restaurant can be full with such low quality and such high prices.

The restaurant is loud and crowded so just a but chaotic but the sichuan eggplant dish was great!
