Chinees-Indisch Restaurant Peking in Wijk 01 Nijmegen-Centrum

We used to come here so often, and the previous owners were so friendly. They always stopped to chat with you. The food was always good. Back then, you still got noodles/rice with vegetables, an egg, and ham. Now it's just rice and boring noodles. The food was bland. You get less now, too. It's such a shame that this restaurant isn't destined for a long life this way. Does anyone know of a good Chinese restaurant in Nijmegen, because we're never coming here anymore.

We sometimes come here to get Chinese food. The food is getting worse and less tasty. The nasi is basically just white rice; there are hardly any vegetables in it anymore (let alone meat).

I went here with a group of 5 people. It started with the cutlery not being properly clean, the table was sticky, and the food was lukewarm. Afterwards, the entire group was sick for at least 3 days. This was the first and last time we have been here!

I’ve been coming here for years, but that is over now. Upon entering, I saw two portable air conditioners that were nowhere near providing the desired cooling. The cotton tablecloth and cotton napkins have been replaced by paper ones. The whole thing (read: ambiance) looks very cheap. Two people in our party had eaten exactly the same main course, and both suffered from food poisoning for the days that followed. Finally, the banana split was served without chocolate sauce... they could have just given us the choice of whether we wanted a different dessert. I have always enjoyed eating here for the past roughly 15 years. I fear that this restaurant has seen its best days and won't last much longer. It is a shame that yet another icon of the Nijmegen hospitality scene will disappear...

I always used to get the monthly set here, but today the tomato soup had absolutely no substance, yet they charge almost 5 euros. The Tjap Joy was dry and very salty, and the nasi and babipagang weren't good either; the sauce was very thin. It's a shame, I'll get it somewhere else from now on.

We were the first customers in the restaurant at 2:30 PM. The chicken and pork were clearly from the previous day. Plus, they were very dry. I don't recommend it!

We have been regular customers since their inception and eat there very frequently. Last Sunday was no exception. I had brought my parents (80 years old) and friends (70 years old) along. This time, the service was incredibly bad, so bad that we left after the first drink. After waiting an hour for the food and trying to get the staff's attention multiple times to point this out, we had had enough. We were completely ignored. The other tables that arrived after us all received their food earlier. Eventually, my mother even walked over to the bar; first, there were flimsy excuses, one cook, etc. In the end, it turned out the order had simply been forgotten. After that, it became an argument and an ugly one; the staff started speaking Chinese amongst themselves and insulting each other. We left. It's a shame, such an ending after so many years.

Dramatic, really no words for it… We have been waiting for our food for 2 hours, after having already asked 3 times where it is. I am really a bit shocked by this. I find this not only scandalous, but also a bit disrespectful.

The three of us ate here. We were the only ones in the restaurant at the time. The food was placed on the table cold and lukewarm. At first, they tried to make amends, but after our dissatisfaction, it was served new and warm. Not new, but reheated. Hopeless, really. A shadow of its former glory, and for us, the first and last time we will eat here.

It is nice that an 'old-fashioned' Chinese-Indonesian restaurant still exists in the center of Nijmegen. The spring roll is pleasantly crispy and well-filled. The chicken satay is a bit bland and, unfortunately, not very hot. The interior is also just as it has been for many decades: nostalgic. A small suggestion: please remove those two neglected aquariums from the 'waiting area'. The green soup they contain is an assault on the appetite.

Cozy, good, and delicious food. Don't expect a Michelin-starred menu, but traditional Chinese. The seats are a bit worn, but comfortable.

Excellent restaurant, primarily used for takeout. The food is good, and the service is relaxed, making it easy to discuss the extensive and interesting menu. The ambiance is a bit dated; a more modern, open design would improve the atmosphere.

A very cozy restaurant. Friendly service. Excellent rijsttafel (rice table), and the tipan was also excellent. Absolutely nothing to complain about, the food was delicious. We spent over three hours at the table.

Gon Bao Kai (Filletted chicken and vegetables in a slightly spicy sauce) We order this dish every week. In a word, it's amazing!!

I get spring rolls here every week and have to beg for sambal with it. Today I forgot to ask, and there's nothing!!! I'M NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN.

After Michelle and Johnny left, it was terrible! I tried a few times and gave feedback. Tonight, I returned spoiled nasi (I think I'm eating E. coli, judging by the smell), threw the rest in the bin, so I'll stick with Febo for now. Too bad for Nijmegen city center; the old Peking restaurant was fantastic.

The food was delicious. The price-quality ratio is excellent. The staff were friendly.

“Half price and still full price – what a joke!”

In accordance with the statutes of the Dutch-German Spring Roll Association (NDLA), we introduced ourselves as treasurer and secretary of the NDLA and indicated that we were there to test the spring rolls. The Chinese host happily showed us to a table. The restaurant is beautifully and authentically furnished, with private glass windows surrounding the central tables, allowing us to consume our planned spring roll independently of others—in our case, the spring roll. The table was neatly laid with "paper damask" featuring the familiar sambal set and, next to it, a small ketjap bottle with a soft plastic cap and spout. The sambal jar appeared full, but was actually almost empty. This shortcoming was immediately remedied with a new, full jar after we reported it. We then ordered the two spring rolls and two glasses of beer to accompany them. The beer was served quickly and perfectly poured. After 10 minutes, the owner arrived at our table with the spring rolls, which had been placed on the buffet through the sliding door. They were beautifully fried and the size far exceeded our expectations. Cutting them open crispy, they were well-filled with vegetables, bean sprouts, omelet, and excellent chicken pieces. Naturally, we generously drizzled sambal and ketjap over the spring roll. It was a perfect spring roll! Also, and not unimportant, a clean, ironed, and starched cloth napkin! (A plus!). Other aspects of the inspection: the restroom was spotlessly clean, and there was no oily smell in the restaurant, which is also quite common. The musical classical piano accompaniment was as expected and at an appropriate volume. All in all, a very good spring roll experience for a reasonable price! This will be featured in our quarterly magazine!

We always take the specials! Really tasty. Nice people and everything nice and clean. We keep coming back.

The quality of the food is very poor, they brought duck with rotten canned pineapples. The soup portions are very small and not tasty.

It's a pity, but we were not understood, keep in mind that when ordering food on the spot you may not be fully understood... or they may forget to bring something. The food unfortunately did not live up to expectations, I ordered chicken in sauce and canned pineapple which was spoiled, we were told that it was ok. It should be like that, but the smell and taste say otherwise.

Good quality meals, easily accessible in the center of Nijmegen, reasonable prices

It was clearly indicated that I wanted a single dish from the Koe Loe Yuk website with the accompanying option of satay or mini spring rolls and a soup on the side. After checkout, it appears to be a much larger amount than on the website. It is also a completely different order and no service or option is offered by the staff to fix this. Scam!!!

Great to see and eat in an old fashioned Chinese restaurant again. It's a shame that you also get meat with a tipan fish dish. Shark fin soup contains both chicken and pork. Furthermore, the food was delicious.

After work on Sunday at 9 p.m., we ordered 2 spring rolls on site, it turned out that the gentleman had understood one of them, so we had to wait another 10 minutes when asked if we could eat this. we said no, just eat it in the car because we are already closed... it is open on the site until 9:30 PM, follow the gentleman, this was not true... then he came with a story, yes inside Eating it costs €9 extra, seriously what a service, it was the first time we had a spring roll and the last time. Apparently the Chinese laugh everything away, because that was what he did, no, thinking along was not his strong suit. So we stood outside the door at 9.20 pm to eat our evening meal. (spring roll was tasty)

Saw this restaurant and felt like having a spring roll. Spring roll with glass of soft drink €12.50. Next time I'll pick it up because that saves half the price.

Lots of sharing dishes with something for everyone.

We have been coming to Beijing for at least more than 40 years. Always delicious food in a nice atmosphere. Today we picked up food for once. Crispy suckling pig with ginger/tomato sauce, trap-tjoi with nasi goreng. In a word, delicious and large portions. Our order is enough to last us at least 2 days. Cheerful and friendly owner.

I indicated three times that I did not want any sauce with the Beijing duck and then I received a container full of nasty sauce, I now don't feel like eating it at all, I also thought they were acting strange at the counter and the amount of meat I was very disappointing, at iwan I got twice as much meat for €4 less. Ridiculous restaurant..

De tipan géén uitgesproken goede smaak maar gewoontjes zoals je bv ook bij afhaal proeft. Teveel uien bij de tipan met vis. Allen de ossenhaas mals, de kip en varkenshaas wat taai.

When they know we are Singaporean and are yearning for good chilli, the lady Boss fished out her Singaporean hubby's private chilli collection - Hay Bee Sambal. I feel so homely here, The food here suit our taste bud - original & heavy! The restaurant sells Indonesian Food too. If we come Nijmegen again, we will visit!

Ik was hier al lang niet meer geweest. Nog steeds prima als je voor die traditioneel Hollandsche Chinees gaat. Leuk om te zien dat na tientallen jaren dezelfde gezichten er nog steeds zijn.

Wij hadden een zeer vriendelijke gastvrouw, een wat oudere dame. Het eten was lekker. Persoonlijk denk ik is dat het restaurant wat prijzig is.

Altijd tijd voor een praatje. Voor ons een heerlijke plek om lekker te smullen. Vooral de gerechten op de hete stalen plaat zijn sissend lekker. De geur, de smaak. Een genot voor je smaakpapillen. Ook lekker als afhaal.

Toffe en gastvrij restaurant de vrouwelijke kok komt gezellig bij je tafel een praatje maken en als je vol zit mag het mee nemen. Ik raad deze Chinees aan is voor herhaling vatbaar.
