A nice menu with authentic Chinese dishes. We had a delicious meal; it was ready quickly and the portions were generous. The owner (I think) was friendly. A nice way to end a day in Giethoorn. Two minor points: they don't have a dessert menu, and the lady said, "If you want to eat with chopsticks, you can take them from the table." As a waiter, I would just put them on the table or ask for them. (A minor detail.)

The only Asian spot I could find in the area. Food was decent — beef noodles tasted a bit like instant noodles but the beef was tender and flavorful. Beef fried rice was standard, slightly bland, but the beef itself was a big plus.

This Chinese Restaurant Giethoorn A Niu in Giethoorn was founded by Hsu-Lai Yu from Wenzhou, China and opened in 2014. Mr. Yu moved to the Netherlands in his early years and ran a Chinese restaurant in Steenwijk for many years. He saw the tourism potential of Giethoorn and chose to open a store here. The dishes mainly feature common Chinese stir-fried dishes and noodles and rice dishes, such as Kung Pao Chicken, Sweet and Sour Spare Ribs and Beef Noodles. The taste of the beef noodles is not amazing; the soup is light and the beef is a little tough. It is a simple choice to fill your stomach. The restaurant owner's expansion of his business in the local area had caused concerns among local residents, who were worried that he would turn Giethoorn into Chinatown and was seen as a symbol of over-development of tourism.

Absolutely amazing service and delicious food! I came back to the restaurant because my noodles takeaway was a bit hard to eat, and the staff were incredibly kind — they not only helped me repackage it properly, but even gave me more food than before, with a big smile. Everyone was so warm, polite, and helpful. You rarely see this kind of hospitality. I waited no more than 5 minutes They don’t speak English at all, but that’s not a problem — you can communicate easily with a translation app. You can really feel it’s a warm, family-run place with a great atmosphere. Highly recommended — I’ll definitely come back again. Thank you so much!☺️

The service in this restaurant is okay. There were a lot of people here today during the holiday. Maybe because of this reason, they all had diarrhea after eating. They had diarrhea several times.

If there were a zero-star rating, I’d definitely give it! The service was poor, the food wasn’t fresh, and all of us got diarrhea after eating here. Don't come and eat! The ingredients were very stale and all of us had diarrhea after eating it!

Classy authentic Chinese food in a lovely location. Ate the duck with teriyaki sauce and it was lovely. In general everything ordered was great. Service was questionable but I can understand we weren't there at prime time. Can definitely recommend

The food was okay but everything went wrong and the service was not good. I asked for ice cubes and the waitress said they had no ice cubes. A few minutes later, another employee asked other customers if they wanted ice cubes with their drinks and that was what they got. In addition, we waited 20 minutes for just a cup of coffee and in the meantime other customers received all their dishes and we were still waiting for 2 cups of coffee. In addition, we were shown on our receipt that 5 portions of our food had been ordered while we had only ordered and eaten 4. I think it's really bad that so much has happened. There was no language barrier, because I am fluent in Dutch and Chinese. I would recommend other tents if you want to avoid the risk of such mistakes.

Het eten was oké maar alles ging fout en de service was niet goed. Ik vroeg voor ijsklontjes en de serveerster zei dat ze geen ijsklontjes hadden. Een paar minuten later ging een andere werkneemster aan andere klanten vragen of zij ijsklontjes bij hun drankjes willen en dat kregen zij ook. Daarnaast hebben wij 20 minuten voor gewoon een kopje koffie gewacht en in de tussentijd kregen andere klanten al hun gerechten en wij nog wachten voor 2 kopjes koffie. Daarnaast kregen wij op onze bon te zien dat 5 porties van ons eten werd aangetikt terwijl wij maar 4 hadden besteld en gegeten. Ik vind het echt slecht dat er zoveel is gebeurd. Er was geen sprake van taal barriere, omdat ik vloeiend Nederlands en Chinees kan. Ik zou beter andere tentjes adviseren als je de risico van zulke fouten wilt vermijden.

The soup was very bland and tasteless. Portions are minimal. The baby didn't have enough to eat. The noodles in my noodles were all broken, probably because the dregs in the bag were poured out for me to cook, but the child's bowl was full of noodles. Opened in a popular tourist attraction, it doesn’t matter how good the taste is, the noodles must be enough for everyone to eat. After all, a portion of noodles costs 15.95 euros, and a small 200ML bottle of water costs 3 euros.

The worst restaurant you can think of eating in.. Khais Restaurant Abu Kalb Chinese restaurant in Gotherin, Netherlands

This is probably the only Chinese restaurant in Giethoorn, so we were curious to try it during our visit. My partner and I ordered the fried rice with chicken and vegetables. The taste was decent, nothing extraordinary. However, we found the portion to be quite small for the price, which was on the higher side. We were attended by someone who didn’t speak English, so communication was a bit challenging, though they were polite and tried their best. Overall, it’s an okay option if you're specifically looking for Chinese food in the area, but there’s room for improvement in terms of value and service.

After saying something about this, we were given dry chicken skewers. They didn't even have prawn crackers. But charge the top prize. We were surprised that there was no one in the restaurant. Terrible experience. The inside of the restaurant smelled bad, so we had to eat on the terrace, with the bad luck that one of the employees went out to smoke at a table near ours. I ordered fried rice with beef and vegetables, the beef was half raw, I almost vomited from disgust. My partner ordered fried rice with chicken and vegetables, the chicken was also half raw, in the end we didn't eat either the chicken or the beef. Don’t expect to have a fork and knife or chopsticks, you have to eat with a spoon and you must search for napkins. No ice cubes with your drinks.. I give it one star because I can't give zero, the quality doesn't even come close to a star.

The manager was very nice and served a generous portion of beef noodle. He tried to help a lady charging the phone. As we are from the UK, we found the price is reasonable for having Chinese food in scenic areas.

Eigentlich wollten wir hier gerne essen, aber daraus wurde nichts. Die Karte wurde uns zwar zügig gebracht, aber dann war Funkstille. Wir waren neben einem anderen Pärchen die einzigen Gäste. Dies hätte uns zu denken geben sollen. Nach 15 Minuten hat immer noch niemand nach Getränken gefragt, obwohl wir versucht haben auf uns aufmerksam machen. Stattdessen haben wir mitbekommen, dass dem Pärchen am Nachbartisch von den 3 bestellten Speisen die natürlich gleichzeitig verspeist werden sollen, nur eine bislang gebracht worden war und dann 20 Minuten niemand mehr zu sehen war. Auf Nachfrage des Herren wurden dann schließlich die Speisen an unseren Tisch gebracht (wir hatten wir gesagt noch keine Bedienung zu Gesicht bekommen, nachdem man uns die Karten brachte). Der Hinweis auf Englisch, dass hier ein Irrtum vorliegt wurde zunächst ignoriert bis eine andere Bedienung von hinten angerannt kam und die Teller auf den richtigen Tisch stellte. Wir haben darauf das Restaurant verlassen und das arme Pärchen, dass nun mittlerweile alle Speisen hatte, bedeutete uns, am liebsten hätten sie es uns gleich getan. Übrigens standen während der Zeit, die wir dort waren 5 Personen vom Personal hinten rum…

Unfortunately, this is for sure the worst Chinese restaurant I have ever tried in NL. Terrible. The waitress is kind but that cant compensate the plain taste the food had. As attached you may find the photos of a dirty glass and the sweet sour chicken that had way too much starch on the chicken. The beef in the noodle soup is not supposed to still be on shelf. Disgusting.

Wij hadden een zeer positieve ervaring bij A Niu Chinese Restaurant in Giethoorn. Mijn ouders namen mijn man en mij mee uit eten bij A Niu om onze hereniging na 6 jaar te vieren. Toen we niet zo goed konden kiezen - het menu klonk allemaal zo lekker - vroeg de eigenaar of we het leuk vonden om een verrassings menu te kriijgen dat hij zelf voor ons zou samenstellen. Wij werden zeer aangenaam verrast! De tomaten soep was de lekkerste die ik ooit heb gehad, vol van smaak met een hele mooie balans van zoet en zuur. Het hoofdgerecht was een zeer royale selectie van kip en vlees gerechten met rijst en met noodles. Alles was vers gekookt, heerlijk van smaak. goed gekruid en met liefde gekookt, dat proefde je echt. Als je echt lekker chinees eten wilt ipv de gewoonlijke chinees/indische mix die je in de meeste restaurants krijgt, dan kan je niet mis gaan met A Niu. Heerlijk authentiek eten en een zeer gastvrije ontvangst.

Worst beef noodle I’ve ever tried in my life

On the advice of the very nice owner, we had a surprise menu that was really delicious. Very cozy sitting in the conservatory. A little background music perhaps as a tip.

Came here at 8:15pm and it was the time for last orders as they close at 9pm. Lady was still happy to serve us and the food was cooked to good chinese standards. I’m surprised with the quality because the fire that came through the frying in the wok could be tasted and they got chinese chefs so you can be sure this is as authentic as it gets. The restaurant was empty since I was the last customer that came through at the end of the day. Prices are not cheap as you will want because this is Europe and all chinese food are expensive anyways. A simple dish like a protein with rice is €14.50 and up. Beef is more expensive at €18-€20 and they also serve alcohol here. Restaurant is pretty clean but I can’t really tell much since it was an eclectic theme and the dark interior makes it less obvious to notice. But the utensils are clean and have no watermarks. They serve good chinese food and you can get a good meal here to ease your food cravings if you are visiting Giethoorn village. Lots of chinese people around.

The prices at A Niu Noodle House are open and transparent. A friend said that the original price of two bowls of beef noodles was 28 euros, but the boss charged 35 euros. This is pure nonsense.

It's raining and the weather is six o'clock. It's great to have a bowl of hot beef noodles and there's chili sauce on the table. The noodles have a strange texture, the beef is very poor, and a bowl costs 16 euros. None of these shortcomings can erase my obsession with drinking hot soup. Under various objective conditions, the basic score is 80 points.

An Asian restaurant in the middle of Giethoorn center. It feels like the only Asian restaurant in the area. Otherwise it is surrounded by cafes. The restaurant is relatively small. Really Chinese, not too Western

This restaurant is located at begining of hithorn attractions and was not crowded. The price is affordable. Staffs are very kind. We enjoy the table at the terrace because we have a dog. Yes. Dogs are allowed like most of restaurants in Holland. You can start your journey after lunch here.

The fried noodles are large enough for 3-4 people. The noodles are delicious and have a Chinese taste. The owner operates restaurants, hotels, and boat rentals. He is very enthusiastic. After the meal, you can rent a boat for fun and fully exchange relevant tourism information.

The meals are very affordable for the Netherlands because the portions are very large (add 2 euros for a larger portion) and are very filling. The taste is pretty good, and the boss is Chinese and very Chinese-style. The best thing is that the owner has a boat and is very friendly to rent it to us for self-driving.
