Fine but expensive for a Chinese

The soup was cold and it took a long time for the food to arrive. The food was fine, but the room was cold and the plates were cold, so the food was also cold, which was a shame. It wasn't well prepared and there was nothing ready, so it was a bit clumsy, while normally you can get take-away there very easily.

After eating, you can walk to the Deer Park for 12 minutes (ask the boss for the address). It takes 30 minutes to get to Giethoorn. The boss lady and the boss are very nice. Traditional Dutch chinese restaurant. Started with the dimsum mix which were ok. As a main I tried the babi pangang combi which had a few Cantonese parts and it tasted as expected: Mediocre. No surprises here. Reliable food for a fair price. Staff was very kind.

I visited Giethoorn today and came here to dine specifically after reading the online reviews. I ordered three dishes: fried chicken, three kinds of meat, and family meal. All three portions were large and delicious, satisfying our lack of meat in the past ten days. The proprietress is very pretty and the business is very good with a constant stream of customers. Fortunately we arrived early, otherwise we would have to wait for a long time.

I always order by phone and have been a regular customer there for a long time. The new owner is friendly until something goes wrong. In this case the issue was that I could no longer see the menu on the website. So I called and reported that, to which he indicated that that was correct, he was renewing it regarding a price increase. I then placed my order, but after hanging up I realized that this time he had forgotten to ask if I wanted a small or large bowl of nasi and I had forgotten to ask, so I immediately called again to make sure that I wanted a large bowl of nasi with it. Once there, he asked for an amount of 27.50, which I could not accept for that dish that normally costs 19.50. So I asked him how that was possible. He said you ordered an extra large bowl of nasi, I said no, I ordered a large bowl of nasi, we forgot to communicate that so that's why I called you back about it. Then he started to become very unfriendly, raised his voice and started yelling at me and I ended up being a liar too. I didn't know what was happening to me for a moment. And then said, you know, you may be right about me, because I was so freaked out by his behavior and since I had already paid, I grabbed the food and left and mumbled that I wasn't coming here again. Het eten was echt zeer lekker, De bediening was uitstekend en de wachttijd was ook erg snel. Ik raad je aan het zelf ook een keer te proberen!

Het was supergoed en zeer vriendelijke bediening. Heerlijke loempias en de babi pangang ouderwets lekker. Chines rijsttafel nog nooit zo lekker gegeten.

Ondanks de 3 sterren hebben we hier gegeten. We hebben heerlijk gegeten!!! Het was niet vet en niet zout zoals bij vele chinese restaurants. De bediening is goed. Het is een jong stel die 3 jaar het bedrijf runt. Ze staan open voor tips, we hebben wat tips gegeven voor wat meer sfeer maar daar wordt al aan gewerkt. Wij gaan hier vaker eten.

The comprehensive stir-fried vegetables are highly recommended, they are so delicious! I also recommend the fried rice, which is a one-bowl kind! I think the soup is a bit ordinary.

What we ate was fine, we just missed the spice in the dishes. Adding salt and some sambal lifted it well. So no it wasn't great, but just tasty, fine for the price. Very tasty and the owners are also exceptionally friendly and welcoming. We stayed in Steenwijk for 3 weeks and had countless meals there. They have been accommodating all our requests. A must-go for Chinese cuisine lovers!

On the way to Giethoorn, we stopped for lunch in the small town of Steenwijk. The restaurant is as clean as the town, giving those of us who have been in prison for a long time an unnatural sense of returning to our true nature. The portion is large, I ordered a fried three-piece dish and a vegetable dish. The waitress welcomed me warmly and treated me to local fried shrimp chips. Help me explain how to use the bus card. Food was fine but not special. Fairly neutral in taste. Little atmosphere in the restaurant. It looked more like some tables they had added next to takeaway dishes. The round table is nice. The service was mediocre. Very friendly and charming service. However, waiting an hour for the main meal is not normal for a Chinese restaurant. Based on the owner's response, I have raised my rating for the service to 3 stars, as well as the atmosphere.

I ordered chicken breast with rice some pieces were not cooked well and i even had some skin with a string that looked like an achilles heal of a human and was raw. My eggroll had so much oil that you could realy see dripping inside if you picked it up. I love chinees food but this was really bad after 3 bites me and partner payed the bill and left. The service was good and the people are very friendly. The money you need to pay is to much for the food that was delivered.

Wat een geweldige avond hadden wij met de familie in jullie restaurant. Er was zoveel keuze uit heerlijke chinese en indische gerechten. Het eten werd prachtig opgediend, een feestje! En het smaakte allemaal super lekker. De bediening was ook top! Zo genoten.

Waren in de buurt op vakantie en hebben een 2 persoons Indische rijstafel gehaald. Was keurig op tijd klaar en het was lekker. Positief dat men voldoende leverde voor een nette prijs. Hier zouden momenteel veel restaurants een voorbeeld aan kunnen nemen.

30 jaar geleden was dit het beste Chinese restaurant in Steenwijk en wijde omgeving. Wat er nu van over is, mag naar mijn menig de naam Chinees niet dragen. Flauwe en kleffe nasi goreng, taaie en/of droge saté ajam, vreemd smakende rode saus, dunne satésaus, de koe lu yuk is droog ongekruid vlees in een taai deegjasje, enz. enz. De foto die ze hier laten zien, is van het sfeervolle restaurant dat het destijds was. Nu ligt er grijs laminaat en is het een kille en kale boel om te zien. Erg jammer

Lekker eten, snel klaar. En er zit ook in de verpakking wat je besteld hebt.

Vier Gäste, vier verschiedene Menüs, vier Mal sehr zufrieden. Das Essen war lecker, gute Menge, heiß und schön angerichtet. Das Personal war freundlich und aufmerksam.

We had dinner there late on Friday evening and the restaurant was quiet. We ordered the Indonesian “rijsttafel” for two and were pleased with the amount of food and the variety of dishes. Perhaps not the best “rijsttafel” ever, but for a small town it was good and the service was great. It’s too bad that we were the last diners to leave at 8:30, this restaurant should be a lot busier!
