CIRO 1939 in Scheldebuurt

This review wasn't intended for Ciro 1939. I haven't tried this place yet. I do intend to try it out.

I had a really delicious pizza and tiramisu at this place. It's beautifully located near the Dappermarkt in Amsterdam. Highly recommended.

I stumbled upon it by chance; we had very good first courses, appetizers, and pizza. Considering that Amsterdam is quite expensive everywhere, we spent about the same amount as other restaurants.

We stumbled across Ciro following our arrival in Amsterdam. Lucky us! Our experience was fantastic from start to finish. Top quality food and the best possible service. We had their pizza and we might as well have been in a 5 star restaurant in Italy. I would recommend this to locals and travellers alike, without reservation. Enjoy!

What a wonderful restaurant! The food is excellent, the service very enthusiastic. Today we ate at Ciro for the third time, it was again incredibly delicious, lovely terrace on perhaps the last day of summer, so we were extra pampered. An absolute must!!!

Wow!!! The food is super fresh and truly delicious. We were with six friends and had a shared dinner. Every dish was amazing. What a wonderful addition to this restaurant.

We had a fantastic meal at Gio's! Everything was Italian, it was so delicious and so cozy. We had both pizza and pasta, and everything was equally delicious. Gio and his team have only been open for eight weeks, so I'd recommend going there soon before it gets too busy, because it will! A very varied menu and wonderful wines.

After visiting the Dappermarkt in Amsterdam in the rain and escaping to the Italian cafe-restaurant CIRO, you enjoyed an excellent, homemade tiramisu here.

Finally, an Italian restaurant that serves Italian food and coffee. And not at exorbitant prices, but simply good value for money.

Fine and original Italian cuisine. Real chefs work here, creating delicious and beautiful dishes. From oven-baked potatoes to perfect pasta with a delicious filling or sauce. The service is warm and responsive. I'll definitely be back.

If you love authentic Italian food, you have to go to Ciro 1939 at the Dappermarkt in Amsterdam. Giovanni, the owner, told me he wrote down all his mother's recipes and now recreates them exactly in his restaurant. I'm telling you: this is the best melanzane I've ever had in the Netherlands. Go quickly and try it for yourself: you'll truly feel like you're in Italy!

Wonderful place that hit on all cylinders. We showed up with a large group without a reservation and they really took care of us. Great food and atmosphere and the most friendly, efficient service that we’ve had in a while. Highly, highly recommended

Claimed to deliver to my address, then cancelled the order with no communication other than the Thuisbezorgd standard email. No idea about the food, but these people suck.

We used to come to the old Ciro regularly from Groningen. We went there the day before yesterday and yesterday and are huge fans of the new place and the atmosphere. I can't wait to be back in Amsterdam.

Best pizza in Amsterdam! We used to have it delivered often, but now Ciro has opened a charming restaurant with a large terrace. Even better! We had a wonderful time yesterday; we'll be back soon!

Very good, we needed a real Italian restaurant in the area, we ate a delicious appetizer, the pasta with clams was very good and the cannelloni were also fantastic, the tiramisu was also excellent.... Compliments ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had a lovely evening here. Get a bite of the tiramisu and you can dip into layers of years spent in making if these recipes. Very exciting use of ingredients in there. Sweet people, lovely service.

Amazing food, amazing service! They have lots of outside terrace space, but also very cozy indoor tables. Amazing quality both aesthetically and ingredient wise. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend and will be coming back soon!!

We often went to the old location to pick up pizzas, which were always great. Now they are even in a very atmospheric building where you can enjoy the super tasty pizzas and other dishes inside. Definitely recommended if you are in the area and want to enjoy yourself.

Prices increased by 25%!!! Just wanted to get it for the four of us, but decided against it, seems a bit excessive to me!!

Holy..., what great pizzas! The tartufo, among other things, is highly recommended. Don't be put off by the fact that it is takeaway only, because it is more than restaurant quality.

We've been eating Ciro's pizzas for years. Simply the best in this part of town. The crust is just right and crispy. The tomato sauce is delicious, and if you order through their website and pick it up, you can easily customize your pizza to your liking, for example, by asking for extra olives or no bell pepper.

NEVER AGAIN! Be careful when giving criticism, as the staff may not be able to handle it well. I have been called back threateningly four times because my tone was apparently not appreciated. Ciro 1939 has always been known for its quality, with a traditional Italian chef, the use of fresh ingredients and high-quality staff, but this… La Polpetta is served with supermarket pasta instead of homemade pasta. The sauce was bland and not prepared according to the traditional recipe. CIRO 1939 is a thing of the past; the current owners have ruined the name. For authentic Italian food, you are better off going to Rafi in the Jordaan.

Ik zal dit bedrijf zeker 5 sterren geven als hun eigen bezorgdienst hebben .want gisteren heb ik hier een pizza besteld echt goed qua smaak en ingrediënten. Maar hij was koud die pizza. Dit heeft te maken met thuisbezorgd omdat deze bezorgers geen seconden denken over de gevolgen voor de leverancier als de bezorgers te lui zijn om door te werken .ze vragen 3.6 euro voor bezorgen .pure oplichterij.ik ga nog 1 keer langs bij deze zaak om een pizza afte halen.mocht hij dan weer koud zijn .dan was het de allerlaatste keer dat ik hier ben geweest.

The pizza is amazing! You really can taste the quality of the ingredients. Me and my girlfriend ordered the nduja and the truffle pizza. I actually was super suprised as i think these pizza's were one of the best (if not the best) i had in Amsterdam. Comparing it to: buurman en buurman, wilde westen, pizza project, mangia, de pizzabakkers, dope pizza etc... And this is even after thuisbezorgd made me wait for an hour, and i had to pick them up myself. By the time I arrived they just got out of the oven (i called to pick it up myself). Still warm when i got home and the feast began!!

Used to be very good (ordered many times before). Something changed - recently ordered - pizza dough was completely burnt, Pasta was over cooked with barely any flavour (no even cheese topping supplied). Not sure what happened but sadly probably won't order again.

We ordered Circo 1939 for a dinner with friends. We started with the antipasti of grilled vegetables and buffalo mozzarella with tomatoes. Then we had the best parmigiana I ever tasted. I can’t eten gluten, so they made the gluten-free version. Also, all dishes came on a very pretty take-away tray which you can put right on the table. No dishes afterwards. :) Definitely ordering here again!

Wauw! Ik zocht al langer naar een Italiaanse speciaalzaak in Amsterdam die mij in gedachten terug kon brengen naar het zuiden van Italië. Ciro heeft al mijn verwachtingen overtroffen! Top kwaliteit producten; de antipasti, melanzane en tiramisù zijn allemaal aan te raden! Dankjewel en tot snel!!

Good pizza even though it was quite pricey. The focaccia was great as well. The Nutella tiramisu was amazing and can be recommended. The pistachio tiramisu wasn’t that great though.

Altijd vers, beste italiaanse afhaal in rivierenbuurt. Zalm lasagna is een aanrader

Super lekker eten, alles is aan te raden tevens is de bereiding ook super vers. Bestellen hier al jaren, nu we verhuisd zijn rijden we nog graag om voor het lekker eten.

Mijn 2e keer vandaag. En weer zeer tevreden!!! Ze zijn echt goed de pizza's!!! Overheerlijk!!!!

この地域を散歩しているときに見かけたのでフラっと入って、パニーニを注文。 受付の女性は丁寧で「パニーニのメニューを説明してあげようか？」と声をかけてもらいました。自分の期待値が低かったのもありますが、十分おいしいレベル。軽食目的であれば、ぜひおすすめしたいお店。 ７ユーロだと1000円なので、日本円ベースでは驚く価格ですが、アムスでは普通であり、「価格以上のおいしさ」と感じた。

Bestel altijd dezelfde pasta + broodje en het is altijd lekker en snel bezorgd!

Vlak voor de WK afgelopen zondag hier een pizza besteld. Deze werd bezorgd door Uber eats. Vegetarische pizza met aubergine en courgette. Opzich zou die lekker geweest zijn. als ie nog warm geweest zou zijn. Helaas was ie koud. En dat voor 18 euro vind ik een minpunt.

Heerlijke en verse pizza's, plus een superfijne service van Giovanni en Marleen! Voor een zakelijke lunch hadden wij een groot aantal pizza's nodig, en niets was te gek voor hen. Alles warm op kantoor gekregen en iedereen heeft zitten smullen van de pizza's en de verrukkelijke desserts (inclusief de Italiaanse collega!). Een absolute aanrader!

If you are heading here, try their salmon lasagna. Tasty, the right amount of savory flavors and they even asked if i want it served hot. Amazing

Very good pizza, great ingredients and good delivery. The only downside I would see is not being able to personalise your pizza with extra ingredients (at least not on Deliveroo). But the taste, texture and flavour is amazing. Highly recommend!

Wat hebben ze hier heerlijke producten! Als je een fan bent van Italiaanse producten, dan moet je hier langs gaan in de winkel of bestellen. Geweldige carpaccio, vitello tonato, anti pasti, toetjes, pizza’s enz enz.

Koud eten en onbeschofte medewerkers bij ciro oost! Voor dik €60 eten besteld, het is koud, een mini bakje salade en dingen ontbraken. Als je belt zeggen ze stug: we hebben het in de tas gestuurd dus klaag maar bij uber eats:-( Nooit meer!

Al een aantal keer pizza hier besteld en die is over het algemeen prima. Alleen de laatste twee keer duurde het bezorgen veel te lang en kwam de pizza beide keren steenkoud aan, en dan is deze niet te eten. Ik hoop maar dat dit twee toevallige opeenvolgende incidenten waren en dat hier geen sprake is van een dalende trend.

This is a delicious pizza! What a dough! We had it in a friends house and decided to order again (we ordered 4 today, moving day!) Suvian was super nice taking care of my order this afternoon. Super recommended.

Afgelopen week even naar binnen gewandeld en toen werden we zo warm ontvangen door eigenaren Giovanni & Marleen, precies wat je kan verwachten van Italiaanse gastvrijheid. Lekkere rode wijn erbij en voor mij een salade met gegrilde groente en mijn vriend nam de Grande Parma pizza. Giovanni vertelde met passie over zijn liefde voor authentieke Italiaanse recepten, die al generaties worden doorgegeven, en dat is zeker te proeven! Oh en voordat ik het vergeet, de panna cotta...🤤🤤🤤
