Coffee & Juices in Westindische Buurt

It's a bit of a chain - I think there's 3 of them now. I like the two leathery couches. I like the location and the regulars, who arrive with their pets, their toddlers, their laptops - it's quite entertaining. Coffee and food quality is average and expensive. Some suggestions - could you please up your croissant game a tad? (1) They are often non-existent, and (2) They are a bit deflated (or was that a fluke, a couple days ago?). How about some more vegan-y, protein-y options too? ** EDIT: You have got to get your damn front door under control. It's slamming shut every single time someone opens it. Dear Baristas - do you not notice that? Today it went on forever - I had to leave the cafe. People's nerves are bing frayed every time this happens, every 30 seconds. Look around, people are twitching when this happens. Fix it, open it or put a rag by the frame so this isn't an ongoing thing all day long. **. EDIT #2: You removed the chickpea salad sandwich which was the only vegan option on the menu. And you replaced it with the ole' generic hummus sandwich (probably sourced from the Jumbo next door). Yawn. Cheap move. Pathetic. To save a few pennies I guess?

Great breakfast. It's a bit like a student cafe. Very good price.

Great place with good coffee and a cozy, warm atmosphere. Minus one star for charging extra for plant-based milks. It's 2025, time to treat those with ethical choices and / or allergies equally :)

Very cozy, nice atmosphere, a pleasant balance of quiet yet cozy, people talking softly, etc. And comfortable sofas, friendly service. The food is good and delicious. It's a bit "for expats" (maybe in the old west), so the service is English-speaking and pricey.

I come here very often. I love the acai bowl and it never disappoints. I've noticed they've been using fewer berries lately. The staff is always friendly, the coffee is good. It's a great place to sit and relax overlooking the canal.

Their brunch buffet is full of variety.

On a corner near the canal a tucked away gem of a cafe. Relaxed atmosphere. Alot of parents meeting point but also a few workaholics on a Sunday. Great brew serviced with a smile.

Went a few times during a recent trip to Amsterdam. Lovely coffee and the croissants were amazing.

Great place to work and delicious coffee

A cozy coffee shop, convenient for the neighborhood. The menu isn't particularly special, but it's fine. The toasted sandwich was a bit sparse, but still tasty. The vegan options could be more extensive.

I got to try the salmon sandwich and a chicken and avocado sandwich (both on focaccia). Even though the bread was a little crunchier than I thought it would be, the filling was exceptional. Creamy avocado, fresh cucumbers, spicy rocket, and well salted meat. The food was lovely. It was also a nice, quiet spot to catch up on my book.

Friendly service, delicious sandwiches

Very nice cafe, lovely staff, pet friendly, comfortbale seating and good food and coffee. Bread not cooked so had to wait 20 mins for food to come which was a bit of a shame.

Just came here, waited 30 mins before not receiving my order (açai and a coffee), I asked where it was and there was no apology then I have waited an additional 10 minutes

Super nice atmosphere and delicious matcha

I was impressed with how quiet this cafe was… I mean it was nice 👍 I had a ginger tea so I can’t comment on the other items. The atmosphere is cute. I didn’t fall in love with it enough to come back but it was a good visit.

I have been coming to this coffee place every other day since the last 3 years, i couldn't spend my day without coming to sit here for a few hours and just enjoying the good choice of music list and excellent coffee but recently this place has become a total disaster. Too many servers who seem to be lost and unable to handle the crowd. They forgetting coffee orders, dark Or rather burnt croissants are being served everyday. The acai bowl has become a bare minimum bowl with a few tiny pieces of fruit, quarter of what we were used to last couple of years but a higher price now. I have seen the downfall of this place being a regular customer. Another place dies to commercialism.

Best coffee in all of Amsterdam, hands down! Good food and atmosphere, fair prices. Highly recommend!

Nice coffee but could have been better service

Great coffee and service. The Italian girl that has been working at this coffee for a long time is super friendly and kind.

In search for the smallest cappuccino in Amsterdam. It does taste good though but all coffee places have good tasting coffee these days. They serve it in an espresso cup. You can skip Madurodam this way. Takes 10 minutes to go. Orange juice you get mixed with beetroot because it came out from the machine that way. Funny place

They have some new staff and it takes ages to order or even get a coffee to take away. One has to wait even 10minutes to order a take away coffee.

Weet je wat jammer is, als je zulke lekkere koffie hebt, in een leuke sfeer en er staat maar één iemand achter de counter waardoor je 15 minuten moet wachten op een koffie. Gemiste kans! Laatste keer.

I went this time to have a takeaway coffee with a young girl with a ponytail and big ears (I only indicate this to differentiate her from the rest). The girl was totally rude, not leaving the card machine to swipe the card and making me have to know if it worked while she made a bad face. I have never had a complaint about this place but in this case, I don't understand how a person who works in front of the public can be so unfriendly and rude.

Typical big city prices. In return you get excellent coffee (large portion) and various snacks. The decor in and in front of the coffee shop is very inviting, especially when the sun is shining. Then it slams right in. The surroundings with the canal and the lively inner city hustle and bustle of Amsterdam are just as you would imagine.

This is one of the best cafes in Amsterdam! The staff is kind and friendly. Unlike 95% of other cafes in Amsterdam, this cafe allows using laptops always and anytime, without the stupid limitations imposed by other cafes in Amsterdam. While other owners are cheap and try make more money, this cafe also contributes to the well being of local people

Very nice place with good Matcha and coffees. Returned here after a few years, when I used to like the oat cappuccino in this place very much, and I can see they kept their quality. The salmon sandwich is absolutely delicious The downside for me is how you often cannot really find a spot to sit here.

Disappointing staff. Maybe the waitress had a bad day but she came across unfriendly and she articulated in a low voice.

Ambiente muy cálido y chill, las chicas son muy atentas y simpáticas así como su clientela. El café muy bueno y el bocadillo de pesto, burrata y jamón increíble. Volveré cada vez que visite Amsterdam!

Café très agréable où l’ont peut se poser pour parler ou travailler en dégustant un café et/ou une pâtisserie. L’accueil est top. On s’y sent vraiment bien. Les rapports qualité/prix sont très corrects.

Mijn vrouw en ik liepen om stip 17:00 naar binnen om een take away koffietje te halen, terwijl er een andere klant nog binnen wacht op haar bestelling zei het meisje die aan het werk was dat ze gesloten zijn. Stipt 5 uur, je bent nog bezig met een koffie zetten voor andere klant, is toch geen moeite om er 2 extra te maken. Met zo een mentaliteit zou je baas niet blij zijn

Ik kom hier al tijden trouw mijn Chai Latté halen. De koffies zijn hier heerlijk. Echter valt het personeel de afgelopen maanden erg tegen. Vandaag sta ik in de rij te wachten. Het moment dat ik aan de beurt ben, liggen er vier bonnetjes en zijn er drie personeelsleden. Ik sta aan de kassa, maar word compleet genegeerd. Het kan natuurlijk even druk zijn, geen probleem. Maar er wordt ruim 3 minuten lang niets tegen mij gezegd. Een ‘ogenblikje alsjeblieft, ik kom zo bij je’ had volstaan. Ik ben uiteindelijk weg gelopen zonder geholpen te zijn. Dit is niet de eerste keer dat dit me is overkomen, vandaar nu een post met feedback.

Udoban ambijent i inspirativni detalji. Pored toga, izbor zdravih napitaka i svježe pripremljenih grickalica čini posao još ugodnijim. Osoblje je diskretno, a glazba u pozadini dodaje ton opuštanju.

Navratila sam u ovaj kafić da malo odmorim. Vidim da imaju veliki izbor pića, posebno kava i kapučina. Kava koju sam popila bila je fina, kremasta. Osoblje je ljubazno. Doći ću opet.

This is a very cosy and comforting place near my house. The atmosphere is soo calm and perfect to hang out or work from here. They are really good coffee and sandwiches. This is my very frequent spot to work from.

Eerder vond ik het altijd heerlijk om hier te komen maar tegenwoordig met een wisseling in het personeel is het niet zo’n feestje meer. Zo niet gastvrij en vriendelijk.. ook de croissants zijn tegenwoordig als ik er kom verbrand wat ook niet heel lekker is. Wel is de koffie nog even lekker😊

Handy neighbourhood place with pretty good coffee. Sandwiches are ok, nothing too amazing and unfortunately they run out of brown bread quite fast. Staff in general are kind but can be a bit on the surly side if busy around lunch time. Fresh juices are available but pretty pricey. Not great, not terrible.

I will start with the negative: I was very shocked to see mice running where the Chai containers are and the kitchen tools.. this is already a red flag, since also food is next to this parts.. it really makes me doubt about the hygiene of the place The positive: it is a super nice caffe inside, very good variations of food. If they will take care more of the hygiene I will consider in coming back.. Thank you

Wundervolles kleines Café. Sehr leckere Sandwiches, sehr zu empfehlen. Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis gut. Man kann drinnen und draußen sitzen.

Great sandwiches and a great atmosphere with friendly service. We had a mozzarella sandwich (lovely brown bread, mozzarella, tomato, pesto and rocket) and a chicken avocado sandwich (my wife: "really succulent chicken, cucumber, avocado and a delicious honey dressing"). The orange juice was excellent too.

Hele fijne sfeer! De matcha latte was met mint smaak, wat ik niet lust en ik kreeg gelijk een oplossing zonder enkel probleem! Nog nooit zo vriendelijk geholpen!

Discovered by accident, but happily surprised! Great coffee local spot

Este es mi ir definitivamente - a la cafetería de la zona. Jugos deliciosos, café, deliciosos batidos y pan de plátano. El personal también es muy agradable :)

Llegamos primero, ya que era el cierre de nuestro hotel, y lo convertimos en nuestro ritual matutino. Buen servicio de smiley y excelente café. Debes probar el sándwich de jamón Mozzarella, el segundo. La lista de reproducción de los 80 'lo hizo perfecto . comienzo tranquilo que recordarás todo el día.

Fijne plek voor goede koffie en smoothie. Buiten in de zon op een bankje voor het tentje kan je heerlijk genieten. Zeker aan te raden!
