I've been coming here for a few years now, and Wouter is the best restaurant owner EVER! I've celebrated my birthday here three times now, and it's always been incredibly sweet. Plus, the couscous is just so delicious :-)

What a lovely place! The food is great, the couscous poes is a schatje and the owner/staff is/are so welcoming Renting the back room for a birthday is the way to go!!

We were looking for something cozy before the cinema and were absolutely thrilled with the Couscous Club. We had one vegetarian dish and one merguez dish, and both were excellent. A very pleasant, family-friendly atmosphere. The tarte tatin with whipped cream for dessert was delicious.

Super nice and sweet young lady serving. You can taste the healthy, homemade food. It's a shame it was so empty on this Saturday night... you really wish them well!

Siamo entrati per caso, in cerca di una cena veloce. Subito il posto ci ha colpito per l’atmosfera suggestiva. Ha anche una serra esterna in cui ci si può accomodare. Abbiamo preso quattro piatti di cous cous tutti diversi e tutti buonissimi, curati negli ingredienti e nei sapori. Il personale molto cortese e disponibile. Consigliatissimo agli amanti del cous cous o comunque a chi cerca un locale molto piacevole dove mangiare di gusto questa pietanza.

Me encanta el cuscús y este cuscús, cocinado por Wouter es lo real. Es simple, perfectamente condimentado y la porción es justo lo que necesita ser, un poco más de lo que realmente necesita. Te irás feliz.

If you're seeking food that soothes the soul, look no further than this little gem in de pijp. The menu that has only three items and most of it is steam-cooked! The lentil sauce in place of broth is a worthy upgrade and do ask for the fourth item not listed on their menu: a slice of delicious apple pie fresh out of oven

Im sorry this is not couscous..

Vanaf de buitenkant verwachtte ik niet dat er een eerlijk heerlijk klaargemaakte couscous uit de keuken kwam. Bediening was erg vriendelijk en enthousiast over de couscous en het dessert. Je kunt kiezen tussen 3 versies van de couscous. Ik nam de veganistische couscous met linzen. Heel vers gemaakt met veel groenten kwam het op mijn bord en het was heerlijk. We boften, het dessert kwam net uit de oven en moest nog even 5 min rusten. Een tarte tatin met heerlijke appels zonder de gecarameliseerde suiker op een zeer dunne en krokante bodem. Verwacht geen luxe, wel een gezonde maaltijd voor een goede prijs en vriendelijke kok en bediening.

Accueil chaleureux, sans prétention. Couscous royal délicieux aux saveurs authentiques et saines! Un bon vin Sidi Brahim pour accompagner le tout! Allez-y sans hésiter!

Very friendly service and delicious food!

This is very special restaurant. Came here last week with my sister in law and toddler and the experience was so memorable. Simple menu that is very well executed, clean and nourishing. It is one of those meals you could eat every day. The service was phenomenal not being fussed that a toddler was at dinner, but rather making him feel so special with a cous cous meal that he loved. This restaurant is a total gem that I hope gets the continued recognition!

Truly the best couscous meal I have ever had. Vegetables fresh and steamed to perfection. Definitely get it with the lentil soup.

I'll start by saying that I really wanted to like this restaurant.. I love couscous in all its different types and know how to understand Moroccan Tunisian and Libyan couscous. For me, couscous is the ultimate comfort food and when it's made right it's amazingly thin and airy and served with a sauce rich in spices that has been cooked on low heat for hours. In short, good couscous is a great thing. This, on the other hand, was the worst couscous dish I've ever eaten. Poor quality instant couscous and microwaved vegetables (most were carrots) without spices and without love. This is a restaurant that has no right to exist, To call it by the name Couscous Club is a hate crime against North African food in general and against couscous in particular. Poor drinks menu, cheap white wine and undrinkable red wine. The enthusiastic waiter bothered to point out that today the food is less good than usual because they don't have the lentil sauce that comes with the dishes.. And I say if you lack a critical ingredient in the kitchen, close the restaurant! - Their entire menu is three options for the same dish?! Without meat with chicken and with chicken and lamb. The restaurant itself is a place without investment and crowded. And it is not clear how they have positive reviews. It's a disgrace. I'm sorry that some people eat it and think it's couscous.

Lived in the neighbourhood for years and noticed this restaurant while walking by but never actually tried it. What I can tell you, except, that I should have gonne sooner! It is all you can imagine it would be while peering into the window. It is quaint, sweet, and charming, with attentive service, and that is just talking about the atmosphere and the staff! The couscous is done perfectly. Not too dry or wet! And depending on a meat fish or vegeterian one, it is scrumptious! All they serve is couscous dishes, so, clearly they've got it down to perfection. And an absolute must it their pastry desert! It is light and tasty! A great finisher.

Our meal culminated with a complimentary tarte tatin, a dessert so masterfully executed it whimsically suggested a rebranding of the establishment to "TarteTatin Club". With an average price of €28 per person, including wine (though I opted for the delightfully refreshing mint-infused water), the value proposition was evident. The decor of CousCous Club is charming in its simplicity, creating an inviting and cheerful atmosphere. The interior, while unassuming, complements the attentive and vivacious service, contributing to the restaurant's overall appeal. This setting offers a unique charm suitable for various dining scenarios, from solo visits to family or group outings. It exudes a casual romance, though it may not align with those seeking an overtly romantic ambiance. In conclusion, CousCous Club in Amsterdam is a gem, offering a delightful, straightforward cuisine in a setting that feels both welcoming and spirited. Really nice restaurant, where you feel at home. 3 options for the couscous and quite cheap compare to Amsterdam prices. I will come back

Bereid je voor op simpel. No nonsense. Er is 1 gerecht en daar heb je twee variaties op. Dat was gister zo en morgen ook. Gewoon lekker. Kom je met een groep dan mag je als er plek is in de kas zitten. Top ervaring.

Zeer lekker restaurant. Hebben wel geteld 3 gerechten. En meer is ook niet nodig want het was verrukkelijk. Daarnaast is het personeel ook zeer gastvrij. 5 dikke sterren.

My favourite restaurant in Amsterdam. It's as if the whole place came from a different space and time, and there's something deeply endearing about it. More to the point, the food is expertly prepared. There are only 3 types of couscous on the menu, and they are all done perfectly.

Fast service and very good food

Al jaren kom ik hier met wisselende tussenpozen, maar de kwaliteit, de vriendelijkheid en de ambiance is on-Amsterdams goed. Een aanrader als je een gezonde, eerlijke en smakelijke maaltijd wil zonder flauwekul. Prijs-kwaliteit verhouding is ook nog eens subliem te noemen. Het is dat ik niet in de buurt woon, want anders zou ik hier iedere week wel een keer gaan eten.

Excellent couscous, allez y les yeux fermés ! Le propriétaire parle français et il est absolument adorable. Sa tarte tatin est également à tomber.

Cadre ravissant, chaleureux; EXCELLENT couscous et délicieuse tarte tatin en dessert; Walter, le propriétaire est ADORABLE, aux petits soins. Prix on ne peut plus abordable ! Bref, tout était réuni pour passer une merveilleuse soirée, je recommande chaudement !

Food made with love. By far one of the best restaurant you will find in Amsterdam. Not expensive, but great food. Make sure to make a reservation, because it is really popular. Highly recommend!

Dato che con amici volevamo fare una maratona di cinema abbiamo deciso di mangiare prima in un ristorantino accanto. Un posto piccole e molto carino, un padrone di casa a dir poco adorabile, una carta minimal e i piatto di buona qualità. Prezzi modici.

If you like Couscous thats the place to be in Amsterdam. Been there a couple of time and enjoyed every time.

- Meal was average, I had the couscous with merguez sausage. Flavour was satisfactory, nothing really particularly struck me - Didn't really feel at home, waitress was either uninterested or unwelcoming - Eat here if you require sustenance for a decent price

Heerlijk eten voor een zeer vriendelijke prijs. Zeer gastvrij en zeer persoonlijk. Kleinschalig restaurant op loopafstand van het Concertgebouw.

Wenn ich nach Amsterdam fahre, ist ein Besuch im Couscous Club ein Muss. Frisches Essen, tolles Ambiente und ein klasse Service.

Fairly average meal in my opinion sadly. Waiter was fairly friendly but also a little pushy on us ordering drinks. There are nicer places in De Pijp in my opnion.

CousCous Club is een couscous restaurant, eentje zonder menukaart zelfs! De couscous wordt niet traditioneel bereid zoals dat in de Marokaanse/Algerijnse keuken normaal gesproken gedaan wordt. Deze bijzondere variatie hier op is namelijk ontzettend lekker...tip: neem de linzensaus! Past ontzettend goed bij de rest van het gerecht : ) Service is mij erg goed bevallen, ik werd snel geholpen en je voelt ook dat dit restaurant gerund wordt met passie en affiniteit voor dit type gerecht.

We hebben hier heerlijk gegeten in de kas van het restaurant. Goede service, sfeervol en een gastvrij ontvangst. Aanrader!

I love this place. Tried imitating their dish thousands of times but I can't get it right. This means I have to keep coming back here. Their couscous is truly amazing. The place is a bit quaint which I like. They also have an amazing greenhouse where you can eat with a group. Love it!

Erg fijne bediening, lekker eten, vooral de saus bij de couscous is erg goed. De taart op het eind is super. Leuke inrichting.
