It was absolutely fantastic again! The pizza base was nice and thin, just the way it should be.

Yesterday, I dined with a friend. I'd made a reservation a month ago. We were seated at a table for six, and the gentleman said, "That's a problem for later tonight." We debated whether to order an appetizer, but it's a good thing we didn't. We sat there for an hour and 20 minutes, and then we were told to leave because another reservation was arriving. They'd accidentally double-booked the table. The other reservation was arriving in 10 minutes. We even had some of our dessert left on our plates! We reported it to the cashier again, as we felt this was unacceptable. No compensation, just an apology. No more Da Meloni for us!

The pizzas we had were delicious. The staff is efficient and friendly. The atmosphere is great. The tiramisu is generous and delicious for a dessert.

We had a delicious meal, I had the entrecote, it was beautifully cooked and had plenty of it. My wife and kids also had delicious pizza. Great service and friendly staff!! 👌

Large yet cozy and delicious food

We don't like the pizzas here. The crust is rock-hard and not airy. The toppings are a bit undercooked, and be warned: "spicante" is taste-bud-numbingly spicy. Such a shame, especially considering the hefty price. The wine is good, though, and the atmosphere is cozy. The open kitchen is also a great sight.

The food was delicious. Sometimes I made a small mistake, and I received a latte instead of a flat white. But it was resolved quickly. Thank you for the delicious food and drinks.

Friendly service and the food was good too! One small criticism: the fried potatoes were a bit large, making them a bit floury, and the fried vegetables were so-so.

I'm gluten-free, and there was a wide selection, with all sorts of toppings available on the pizza. The staff were friendly and helpful.

I have been coming to this pizzeria for years with pleasure, but my experience today was really disturbing. The young lady behind the counter showed such abnormal behavior (skating jaw movements, no eye contact, inability to look up a simple name) that it strongly gave the impression that she was under the influence. As a former catering employee, I unfortunately recognize these kinds of signals immediately. The food was otherwise fine.

Exceptionally delicious food. The pizzas look authentic and the taste has transcended expectations. As if they have a hatch in the back with a portal to Italy.

For starters we had Bruschetta, which we didn't think really tasted like Bruschetta, just pizza dough with tomato. Didn't have much flavor. The salmon was delicious, the vegetables were old not fresh and the penned carbonara was also watery after taste. Everything was tasteless except the salmon.

We have been here before but this time it was really mediocre, pizzas were not cooked properly and the pork tenderloin was dry. When the staff asked if it was satisfactory, we gave honest, unvarnished feedback, but nothing was done with it and that is a shame. So after many times this is the last time for us.

Good food, good atmosphere, friendly service. However, I was surprised that there are only 2 toilets available. So you regularly see people waiting at the toilet. That really shouldn't be necessary in a restaurant.

Very tasty food and also for a good price. The staff is very friendly and the chefs all greet you kindly as well. Italian was also sometimes spoken, which I still liked, even though it was very busy. I really liked that you could look into the kitchen and see how everything was prepared. We made a reservation on time and were able to be seated immediately when we arrived. It was also nice to think that we could take food with us because of a stomach reduction. Overall, I would go here again anyway.

I've been looking forward to my tagliate di manzo with potatoes all week. Reserved at 7:00 PM, no table available and we were able to go to the table at 7:15 PM. The steak di manzo was out of potatoes so unfortunately it was a disappointment. Also added a lot of tables since the last time the staff seemed too busy.

Halve of the beer menu wasn't available. The beer that was available was sweet and flat. My pre course wasn't available, the one I had to choose in a minute before the server was impatiently staring was Bruschetta. The Bruschetta had nothing else than bread, tomatoes and rucola, no pesto, garlic, olive oil, salt, pepper, you know, like a Bruschetta is supposed to have, bread wasn't toasted either. My table mate her mushroom with garlic was a watery mess. Photo is my pizza, where they lobbed on a precut carpaccio that was too small to cover a not even big pizza. Chucked some pine nuts over it, rucola was somewhere, pregrated cheese was added haphazardly, nothing more. The hope for an Italian experience went out the door just after the pre course arrived so I tried not to be any more disappointed. No dessert was needed. There's 2 toilets for the whole dinery, wondering how long the que will be when the terras is open. 2 just ain't enough. Tl;dr Nothing Italian here, won't advise.

What a fantastic experience! Explanation below. Reserved online at 4:45 PM. And at 4:52 we went in. And there was a table next to the children's corner with a dining chair. (8 month old baby included) When ordering drinks, she was immediately asked whether she should warm the pot for the little one. So we wanted to put it in the bowl, but she said: we'll do that! The food was delicious! We were taken care of quickly and well. The service was very sweet to our son. We got our main course and the lady asked if she could rinse the bowl and spoon for us, how sweet!? When we were eating the main course, our little one became very wimpy. Decided to eat our food quickly and stretch it with corn stalks in the meantime. Then I thought... I'll just ask. Maybe we can take the food home with us... the little one is very tired. That really wasn't a problem. The food was neatly packed in different containers and I took our son for a walk past the open kitchen (with a gigantic pizza oven!!). The real Italian gentlemen were preparing pizzas and our son almost wanted to jump into their arms over the counter! And they liked it! “What's his name?” (Name). Aah ciao (name)!!! So much fun. Then on to the other kitchen staff. Another gentleman; what a handsome guy! Just act crazy and our handsome little boy stuck out his arms. (Normally he doesn't really like men, but the openness and warm smiles must have done it!) I was even offered a kind of breadstick. Then we packed all our things. Back to the kitchen: ciao (son's name)!!! And everyone waves. At the cash register we received our bag with food and they received a tip. We will definitely go there again. What a fantastic experience...

The restaurant looks nice, but unfortunately they also have a few tables where you are placed on top of each other in an attractive corner at the back (while we just had a reservation). When we asked, we were assigned a different place. When we sat at the new place and wanted to order, we would have to go back to the previous table in the back corner, because the newly designated table would not be available anyway. In addition, they come to take orders at the table even though the table is not complete, which is all very inconvenient. Reason for us to eat somewhere else (but pleasant).

The Italian restaurant certainly has potential with a beautiful interior and delicious food, but the service was really disappointing. No one comes by to ask if it tastes good or if you want something to drink. Ultimately we spoke to someone ourselves, and after waiting another long time without drinks, we asked where the drinks were stayed. They forgot the drinks and they brought them right away, but these were not the drinks we ordered. After we had finished eating we wanted to order dessert. After another half hour of waiting, someone finally came for the desserts, but when we heard that the tiramisu and panna cotta were gone, we got up and left. This was a really annoying experience, never again for us. If you want to be annoyed for an evening, you have come to the right place.

After a nice day of shopping in Groningen, my girlfriend and I decided to have a nice meal at Da Meloni in Hoogezand. Upon entering I see a beautifully decorated restaurant. Once at the table it took quite a while before someone came to offer us something to drink. After a waitress came to take our drinks, my friend was told that she could not order sauvignon blanc by the glass, but only by the bottle. Foreign…. By the way, the table was still very dirty, the waitress said she would come and clean the table. This didn't happen. We eventually got the menu and we had to wait a long time before someone came to take our order. The pizzas arrived quickly after ordering and they were great. Really, we have nothing to complain about in terms of food. During dinner we ran out of drinks and no one, absolutely no one, came by our table to offer us something extra to drink. In the end I just approached a waitress to ask for something to drink. You guessed it, pizzas and no drinks. When the table was cleared, we were only asked if we wanted something to drink and when we indicated that we had already ordered, we were told that they had forgotten the drinks. All in all we got the drinks on the house because we had gone without them for so long. In the end we wanted a dessert menu. The card was so dirty that I had to walk to the toilet to wash my hands. The card was so dirty that it was completely stuck together. After we had made our choice, we wanted to order two tiramisu, but a waitress only came 20 minutes later. The umpteenth time we had to wait a long time. You guessed it, tiramisu. What a mockery. Just picked up pizzas, I ordered 2 pizzas with extra garlic and received without garlic, no taste and pizza has become smaller again it was always good very disappointed

Get and eat a pizza here more often. Always very good. But this time it was disappointing. Ordered sandwiches with herb butter. The herb butter was tasteless and had hard pieces in it. I also told the waiter. The pizza (carbonara special) tasted different. Not what I was used to. And difficult to cut. The potatoes that a friend received were very salty (very salty) and also reported. Nothing was done with them. Still having an ice cream after all. Some ice cream looked like yogurt. Melted ice cream. Maybe the containers are too warm. Too bad we are used to better.

Not only do they have a delicious spaghetti alio, olio and pepperoncini, but also an excellent spaghetti vongole. And excellent wine, even today despite the crowds!

Unfortunately we had to wait an hour for pizzas, but they were good to eat. In terms of design, it was quite modern and neat, but unfortunately it was open, high and spacious, which made all the chatter of people very noisy and disturbing. A tip to install partition walls to dampen the voice somewhat. For such a large restaurant, I think the sanitary facilities are on the small side, 1 toilet for men and 1 toilet for ladies/gentlemen. Could be a bit cleaner. Mini play corner for children. The pizzas are tasty, baked in a real pizza oven. Next time we'll try the pastas. Unfortunately no cocktails, only beer and champagne types, all 3 NOT my favorite All in all, it's doing fine for now, but improvements are desirable

There is a gem of a restaurant near an ugly shopping center in Hoogezand. The furnishings are modern, but somewhat standard. The service is friendly and the chefs greet you cheerfully from the open kitchen. The menu is extensive in terms of choice. The portions are large and with the meat dishes you get a very large amount of salad, vegetables, potatoes and bread (a tip would be to also mention this on the menu) The black pasta with mixed seafood was tasty and ample in portion. The scoops of ice cream are certainly not economical either. The prices are just right for the quality, in short, a very good experience at Da Meloni

The food at this Italian restaurant is fantastic! Tip? Book in time because they are already packed from Thursday. Only good of course 👌 The patas are fresh and home-made. The service was friendly and attentive and the waiters were well informed about the menu. The moscato is also highly recommended. Delicious wine. The decoration is fine, the chairs are comfortable, but then the music is terrible! And in my opinion it detracts from the atmosphere. They have some kind of top 40 playlist? Which is way too loud. Nothing wrong with that, but not in an Italian restaurant, that's what you expect at a gas station where you can quickly eat a ball of minced meat. We come more often and we will of course continue to do so. Recommended!

My KKK group (kool kids job) went here to eat and we have no words, the atmosphere was fantastic, the service was fantastic and the food is beyond words. My Italian friend found the pizza really tasty. My Italian friend also said that the salami on the pizza is also very delicious. I thought the food was absolutely incredible too. Large restaurant in a great location in Hoogezand, free parking in front of the door, where can you find that? There were five of us and we had a delicious meal, the pizzas were fine but a bit difficult to cut. The service was friendly and the order was taken quickly, unfortunately it took exactly an hour before the food was brought to the table. The waiter regularly came by to ask if we wanted something to drink, under the motto they feed us poor but they drink us rich. 0.2cc The ice cream ordered started to melt before it arrived on the table, perhaps left too long or in containers that had just come out of the dishwasher. But the conviviality did not suffer. Perhaps a point of attention.

This place was lovely to have a fine dining. I ate here with my family last week and the people here was kind. The pasta and pizzas was exceptionally good. The tiramisu was szuper tasty. I also tried the citrom ice cream and I really like it.

Despite previously written reviews from others, we wanted to see for ourselves whether they had gained momentum at the new location after the start-up period. And it shows. Delicious food, both pizzas and pasta, good service, sufficient contact moments, beautiful decoration. Nice to see that they are working hard to maintain/bring back their name and quality of the former location. Top!

Had a family dinner here tonight (9 people). For the first time at the new location. The food, a variety of pizza and pasta, was tasty, well prepared and everyone could eat at the same time. The staff regularly came to check whether everything was as expected. The new accommodation is nicely decorated, quite large for a pizzeria, but not disturbing. Everything together was great and we would love to come back!

Went to eat with a group of people for the first time at the new location. We ordered Pizzas and Pasta. Our experience: the ambiance of the new accommodation (former ABN office) is not pleasant and cozy. It is an XXL building and very high, but unfortunately the atmosphere is not there. The restaurant was half full with guests, so this cannot be the reason that the waitress did not come once during the meal to ask if we wanted something to drink. No employee was at the table during the meal? The pasta was doused with far too much olive oil (see also the criticism of other reviews on this subject), which resulted in diarrhea at home. Very salty food overall, we all had very dry mouths all evening and the next morning. In summary: unfortunately we no longer go to Da Meloni for a pleasant evening of dining in an Italian restaurant.

We have been eating pizza here for 40 years when they were still on Rembrandtplein and later Kerkstraat. Always delicious pizzas. Now at the new location we ate pizza yesterday but unfortunately it was a huge disappointment, flat bottom without crust and burnt, second pizza offered with slightly more crust but undercooked and very greasy! We didn't eat it either and won't be back! Huge disappointment!!!

Pizzas recently ordered in advance and collected. Always on time and nothing wrong with it. After a ten minute drive we arrived at our destination and went to eat the pizzas. I noticed that the bottom was very difficult to cut, just over done... the meat on it was also not easy to cut. Had the feeling (based on taste and cutting) that the meat products on the pizza were not the greatest top products either. Furthermore, the pizza was delicious to eat and tasted, but I think I should go back again to eat and experience it on the spot!
