Best coffee in town! I love coming here; the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the coffee and food are excellent. My dog ​​Jasper is always taken care of with water and a snack!

Nice enough coffee. Well priced. Nice assortment of treats and other offerings. Cozy environment. Came across this place as a potential place to work and have coffee. Came was a bit too “cakey”. The idea was nice but missing some depth in the middle. Reminded me a bit of birthday cake. Nothing wrong with birthday cake but I had a massive end piece. Would love to try again but good that it’s open from 8 for a morning coffee.

This was just pure madness, hearing a location talk trash about other “competitors” or whomever you’d want to call it, but at the same time just having posted a bingo card as to where to visit… this gives such borderline vibes it was really unpleasant. If we’d known this before ordering, we would have left. This slanderous and fake behaviour shouldn’t be condoned by the other entrepreneurs in the; as dagger uses the terminology themselves “Utrecht coffee scene”. Also saw their personnel nearly declining a guests order which was clearly in their order options. Why would you want to change a guests opinion on their decisive and clearly ordered item? Utrecht has some of the best spots and some of the worst of which they themselves think they are everything, dagger befalls the last category and the personal executes it, I hope the owner has a good sit down if this isn’t the way they want to operate. And before the owner is going to hit defensive mode on the reply. The girls working didn’t look like they’d be willing to hear feedback, that was their vibe. All the best and I hope to see a pleasant change on the next visit. Edit to the owner: there are a magnitude of others stating the same issues about personnel, I might have elaborated more in depth. But the situation stays the same, I find the defensive behaviour seen now weird. Trying to put blame elsewhere when a there is a similar negative experience from over a dozen people. Do what you will with it but your reply only strengthens our experience and opinion. And just for your clarification, we have been to a few places on your bingo card and have never experienced at those locations as what happened here. We arguably had one of our best moments, in coffee in the Netherlands this Saturday at the flower market.

We highly recommend this place because it has a very friendly design, the service is also great, and the waitresses are very friendly! The food and drinks are always delivered quickly! They offer a wide range of products, including coffee ☕️ and lemonade (which we highly recommend). The shop has a very friendly and colorful design.

This cafe is super cute, with all the vegetarian and vegan options. It has both homemade desserts and brunch options. And the coffee is delicious!

Good coffee and a cozy little place. Unfortunately, the service is very inconsistent. A week ago, I was at the bar to order. I'm heavily pregnant and therefore can't stand for long. After a short wait, I was asked if I wanted to order to-go or sit down. I indicated I wanted to sit down, and then it was quiet. After another short wait, they suggested I order at a table, so I sat down. I'd preferred to order immediately, but apparently that wasn't possible. The staff were busy in the kitchen for about five minutes afterward. Then one of them brought an order to a table and, as she walked back, told me she was coming. A few more minutes passed, and in the meantime, three people came in. When the same woman finally started taking orders, she started with the person who came in last. Because I'd been waiting for almost 15 minutes to order, and I saw that drinks and lunches for three new people were being prepared first, I left. Frankly, I felt like a fool. I think it's a great place, and it's a real shame that the service is sometimes so poor. It makes me want to avoid going there again, at least during my pregnancy.

I ordered coffee from Dagger, and it was beautifully packaged with a personal message and coffee cards. Great company!

A very charming cafe in a quiet neighborhood with some interesting, experimental flavors on their menu. We had a really pleasant time here and will definitely be back to try more of their cakes. The cocos pandan cake is excellent!

Lovely spot, delicious pastries including many vegan options, and a very fine coffee. Also a great selection of beans for sale. I had a double espresso and a raspberry cake and it was marvelous. I suppose a slightly wider selection of beans available for sale would make it the perfect coffee shop, but I know I am just being picky. My favorite coffee shop in Ultrecht, very highly recommended.

Lovely place to get a coffee. I was here on a hot day (34°) and got a delicious affogato and a glass of water that was constantly refilled. Also a nice service! A place to be happy!

When I (39 weeks pregnant and quite immobile) recently wanted to have a coffee with friends on the terrace, it was quite busy so after about 10 minutes I walked inside to order. I was not aware of any wrongdoing and did not mind at all that I had to go inside myself. I ordered three drinks and asked if I could pay immediately so that I would not have to walk again later because I was not very good at that (because I was very pregnant and not very mobile). The answer I got was: 'no, we would really rather do that later. Just sit down, we will pay later.' When I indicated again that I was not very mobile and would like to pay immediately, I got 'no, we do not do that' as an answer - with the addition: 'Well, you probably have to pee later anyway so it will be fine, right?!'. I was so flabbergasted that I did not know what to say.. I am still surprised (and pissed off!) about this totally inappropriate and unkind reaction. I wonder how Dagger himself looks at this. I live nearby and would therefore like to come back but unfortunately I don't feel like it at the moment.

Cute place, but the coffee I ordered was really not good. :( I had an iced coffee and iced chai latte, but both had a weird taste, it wasn't iced but lukewarm and extremely watery.

Do not miss this lovely cafe in Utrecht! The baristas and atmosphere makes you feel right at home. Amazing coffee and the cinnamon buns and lemon poppy cake are must-haves. Rainy? Find the homey feeling inside, lots of windows and daylight. Sunny? Sit outside on one their benches overlooking the Vecht. In short: a must-visit!

Delicious coffee and the owner is great. But the last few times I've been I haven't been pleased with the friendliness and service of the staff. Hence the bad review.

Café bar in Utrecht, a few minutes walk from the historic centre. Colorful and cheerful open space, excellent view of the outside! The girls who run the bar are very tender and kind. Very good food, generous portions. Average prices for the city, 1 drink and dessert around €7.50. I will definitely be back!

Loved this place when it first opened, and overall it's still great, but when it's busy service is VERY slow, and the quality of the coffee suffers too.

Lovely breakfast, kind staff, great place to relax

The place is cute and the coffee was quite good actually. However, the people at the bar was surprisingly arrogant. We asked our coffees with certain beans that was rather seen “unusal” and they mocked behind the bar. Well I see no reason to serve different bean options if I can’t ask for variation. Don’t think will be back again.

Gorgeous little place to have coffee and snacks.

I've been coming to Dagger for years and when I get my coffee beans somewhere else it still feels like cheating. You always have regrets afterwards. Regardless of the origin of the beans, they are of top quality and the baristas make the tastiest coffees from them. The lunch menu is not extensive but always freshly made and super tasty!

Best espresso in Utrecht. They provide a card with information on where the coffee came from for that specific cup which I thought was amazing. Highly recommended!

What a marvelous coffee place. From the colorful interior to the carefully selected coffee beans, it took me a while to discover this place but I will certainly come back over and over again. Their La Perla filter is fruity, light and absolutely delicious. I also recommend their signature Çilbir if you want a flavorful Brunch/lunch. The staff is also very friendly and caring for customers. All in all, highly recommend.

The room is well decorated, which attracts attention. However, the service is poor, the staff has no service minded attitude and the red-haired lady won't let you finish without sending you outside to sit on a bench so they can take your order. This is unpleasant because there is terrible customer service, first you greet and then you ask what the customer needs and if he is going to pay or why he came to the bar. Frankly, this attitude seems racist to me on the part of the establishment's staff. It's also very frustrating that you have a good time and you have a bad time. In my case we ordered an espresso there to drink, but the taste was bad, very sour which does not correspond to a good espresso. They didn't offer me sugar, the cup arrived dirty so they didn't pay attention to the details and it also arrived lukewarm, an espresso cannot reach the customer warm because it loses its taste and smell quality. In short, I don't recommend this place because there is no point in taking care of the employees' income with high prices if they don't take care of the customers that keep the business alive.

I don't like being negative but the food and drinks were mediocre.. the toastie was exactly what could be made at home, and the smoothie was basically thick water. The setting and look of the cafe is very cozy though. And the people are friendly and helpful. Judging by the reviews I think the food offered changes occasionally so maybe it was just a bad time of year.

This is one of my favourite cafes in Utrecht and I've been here frequently since discovering it. The coffee is great, the baristas are always very friendly, the atmosphere and design are pleasant and welcoming and the unique vintage teaspoons are cool. I can also recommend their fresh cinnamon rolls and they even have quality espresso martinis for special occasions ;)

One of the sweetest places in Utrecht to drink specialty coffee and enjoy locally produced, delicious bakery goods and a range of tasty dishes for breakfast or lunch. Super quick and attentive service, baristi always with a smile on their face. A must go for top-shelf specialty coffee!

Had really tasty çılbır and an oat cappucino here this morning! The colours of the place really lighten up one’s day. It’s a charming place. Just the cinnamon knot we shared was a bit dry, but maybe it was our bad luck. They put cumin in çılbır, unusual for my taste but good for digestion ;)

We had some nice coffee and brunch with a friend. The place is colourful and pleasantly decorated. The waiters are very kind and offer a glass of water as soon as you sit down. The room was a little small, and because of the doors being open, it was at times drafty. However, it is a nice little cafe!

3.5 stars. The staff is very friendly and the cinnamon bun is delicious! The coffee they serve is specialty coffee which may not be your preference but it’s quite good if you do like it.

Hele fijne sfeer en super gezellig personeel!

Leuke, gezellige plek met vriendelijk en enthousiast personeel (zelf ‘s ochtends vroeg 😉) en heerlijke koffie en lekkers erbij. Mijn plek to-go-to na het wegbrengen van mijn dochter naar school. Fiets er dagelijks langs en moet echt een andere route nemen om de verleiding om te stoppen te weerstaan.

It has an inviting interior with doors thrown open on a nice day. The people who work seem happy to be here. The first sip of my coffee told me that these are not your run-of-the-mill beans—much funkier and more sour. It didn’t strike me as incorrectly brewed, but maybe it’s not for everyone. The Padang cake was in the oven when I came in, and the smell made me want to inhale the whole place. I had to wait a bit, but I got a piece, warm and very green. It has a bit of an odd texture, but it’s very tasty.

Superb coffee. The best I have had in my visit to the Netherlands and the best overall this year. Good brunch options too including a french toast with bita of cinnamon bun! Less keen on the smoothies. The service was so friendly. Really good value - 2 x smoothies 2 x coffees, 2 x brunch a d one french toast for 40 euros.

Dagger Coffee, de rots in de branding, de stip aan de horizon, het licht op de donkere dagen van het docentenbestaan! Met de zomervakantie voor de deur ga ik deze 30m2 aan koffieparadijs zes weken lang missen 💔 Ik heb genoten van de flat whites, funky cakes en filterkoffiebonen voor thuis. De experimentele cakes in de vitrine zijn hemels en er staan engelen achter de bar. Laatste pluspunt: ook onze fotografieleerlingen werden hier heel hartelijk welkom geheten toen ze een serie van de buurt moesten maken. Lieve Dagger, tot na de zomervakantie!

One of the best toasties in Utrecht! Definitely recommended. Lasagna was also delicious but it comes with a cold tomato sauce which is not my personal favorite.

Goede koffie, hip tentje nabij het centrum. Minpuntjes: de meerdere deuren die als ingang dienen zorgden voor wat tocht en het kaneelbroodje was vrij taai.

Heel vriendelijk, super lekker, mooie initiatieven, enige kleine minpuntje is dat de porties (chai latte en de verrukkelijke soep) wat aan de kleine kant zijn
