De Après Skihut in Rotterdam Centrum

We had two fantastic nights here. Service and security were top-notch. Always friendly. I have no idea how anyone could give a bad review. What do you expect? It's not the Ritz or Hilton, after all. Nor should it be. De Skihut is a great place to party. Every music request is played in real time, drinks are served promptly, and the other guests are friendly and having a great time. This review only covers the disco inside, not the food. Thanks! We're back after two years—this time with my wife—and it was awesome again—thanks! And back again after three years—and it was amazing again. See you next year!

It's a shame to have to pay for the toilet on top of a 10 euro entrance fee.

You can eat and drink here, both indoors and outdoors. Outside, there is a large, heated, cozy terrace. At 10:00 PM, it turns into a disco (small but cozy). Après-ski music is played, people dance, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. (Entrance after 10:00 PM is €10). The staff and security are friendly but strict. You must pass through a metal gate and show ID. 18+.

We were looking for a place to have a small lunch. This place was out of the ordinary offering Austrian food. So we took this restaurant. It had a very special atmosphere and a good Austrian type of food. The seating, while authentic, was a bit hard. A soft cushion would have made it more comfortable.

We had lunch here while shopping; we both had a fried egg sandwich. It looked good, with a tasty salad on the side. Otherwise, it was fine, only the bread was a bit on the dry side. Personally, I found the music a bit too loud, especially since we were sitting quite close to the speakers as there was no space anywhere else. The toilets were clean.

The XXL schnitzel is a slightly larger, dry, thin schnitzel with a lot of breading and no sides. They ask if you want sauce, then bring a mini portion for an extra €3.50! In my opinion, this place is a rip-off. There are many better options in Rotterdam.

It's always cozy in the ski hut. Colin is the hero of the Town Hall Square and chats with everyone. I always feel very welcome here!

We sat waiting for half an hour for someone to take our order, while two employees stood there chatting away. Other customers who arrived later were all served quite quickly by others, even before we were. When I pointed this out to the two "chilling" types, I received a curt reply saying... I'll be right there. After expressing my dissatisfaction, it took another half hour before we received two cups. The apple pie was missing. We asked about this as well, at which point the waiter went to check, after which we heard from the back: "What are they complaining about now?" After a brief conversation with "the boss," it turned out he was very thin and deflected our problem onto one of our own. He even became insulting, after which we walked away without paying. This place only causes problems with this team. So, don't go inside and don't sit on the terrace.

Nice place with hearty options available. Straightforward restaurant where the service is fast, the food is relatively simple but well prepared, and the value is reasonable for central Rotterdam. The food was tasty, and the only issue I had was that there was the tiniest portion of butter given with the bread basket.

Overall experience is okay but there is a weird rule. You pay for the toilet even if you eat and drink here.

We spontaneously decided to go there with 13 people on Wednesday evening for happy hour. They had a great selection of cocktails. The service was perfect. We were approached by a tipsy man, and immediately a waiter came over to ask if everything was alright. Very attentive.

Top café on Stadhuisplein. After a hot day of shopping, we love coming here to unwind with a bite and a drink. Friendly service and delicious food in a top location in Rotterdam. Not the first time, and certainly not the last, we’ve been here. There is a huge selection on Stadhuisplein, but the Skihut is always our preference. Why? No idea, maybe nostalgia from our younger years, hehe. Thanks again and until next time.

It is a weird place; you should never go there if you are not a white Dutch person, otherwise you wouldn't feel at ease.

I was here on Sunday night, so June 8th. I had a few drinks and was having a good time. Until the security guard, a dark-skinned young man, grabbed me and pushed me outside. He said that I was bothering others. That made no sense. I wasn't doing anything and didn't even speak to anyone. How could they be bothered by me then? That security guard is crazy. Another security guard, an older dark-skinned man, also walked along. I was escorted out like a criminal by two security guards. They ruined my evening. Another time, that young security guard and another white security guard said I was nervous, laughed at me, and let me in with great difficulty. He is a nasty man. Not someone you want to run into on a fun night out. I used to enjoy coming here, but I won't be coming back. You have lost a regular customer because of the security guard. It used to be much busier here; now there were very few people. That says enough, doesn't it? I also checked my statements and saw, to my surprise, that 3 extra amounts had been debited even though I hadn't paid them. It says that they were paid with my debit card. What a shady place this is. I would be careful and not go there!

Women are not safe here and are not taken seriously by security! I was touched inappropriately by a man (he kept touching my butt, so technically speaking, it was sexual assault). I literally told this man multiple times to stay away from me, gave him angry looks, shook my head no, pushed him away, etc. When this man kept repeatedly coming after me and continued doing this, I went to security and explained what had happened. I clearly stated that I had already made it clear to this man multiple times that I did not want him touching me, yet he kept doing it anyway. Security spoke to the man and did NOT kick him out immediately. According to security, this man was unaware of any wrongdoing… Security had agreed with this man that he had to stay away from me, and if he came near me again, he would be kicked out… I indicated that I found that a very strange decision because I had already told this man to stop multiple times and he did not. I also said that, as a woman, I no longer felt truly safe because of that choice. After that, this man approached me twice more (the first time I managed to send him away myself when there was no security in sight), and eventually, when security saw it the second time, he was kicked out. This happened last weekend, the night from Saturday to Sunday (June 6-7).

The DJ is a disaster; turning off the sunbeams during the chorus is unforgivable. The rest of the experience was very good (except that the DJ made many more particularly bad choices). It's a shame the DJ had to ruin it like this.

I come here regularly with my boyfriend; we always have an amazing time. The staff is also always incredibly friendly.

We ate there with 3 people on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The spaghetti and salmon are fine. The chicken burger is really a lot lower in terms of quality, especially for the price of €18.95. I wouldn't recommend it. Fast service. Relatively many smokers on the terrace around you. Quite annoying as a non-smoker. Suggestion: Maybe plan a separate smoking area. Nice atmosphere though.

Guy at the guarding dumped my water bottle out and then (when not letting me through with a too heavy bag) pushed me away saying “leave, leave”

I always have a great time at the ski hut! From delicious food to dancing in the evening. Colin is the best!!! The familiar face and excellent service. Thanks to Colin, I feel just like a V.I.P.

The steak was perfectly cooked and deliciously tender! The peppercorn sauce is definitely recommended. The croquettes were golden brown and crispy! The ciabatta was tasty, but the chicken burger wasn't cooked through quite right :( Overall, good atmosphere and friendly service! But it was a real bummer that there was no schnitzel on the menu; we thought that was a real shame!

It started off well with friendly service and cold beer. The food was okay, nothing more, but what made us dislike the place was the Polish waiter who started talking politics with us. He was also quite pushy, even though we made it clear that we didn’t want to have that discussion with him. Extremely inappropriate.

A bit of a shame, ordered chicken satay. The chicken satay is tasty but a bit dry, and you get a meager drizzle of satay sauce on it. I wasn't asked if everything was to my liking either. From now on, I'll stick to drinks there and eat somewhere else. 😁

The security at the door tried to charge €10 per person for entry. We indicated that we didn't think it was worth it, and eventually, we were allowed in for free. It certainly wasn't worth the €10 entrance fee! It was very disappointing.

Expensive entrance fee for a pub with poor sound and mediocre music. Without earplugs, you are guaranteed to suffer hearing damage here.

Last night, I was threatened with my life in the ski lodge by a bartender. He had snorted drugs, and I commented on it. He said he would beat me to death outside. I already called the ski lodge this morning and they know that I am going to file a police report against the bartender tomorrow morning. I did not feel safe in the ski lodge all night. I know I should have called the police immediately, but I didn't feel safe doing so.

It was a pleasant evening. My friends were able to use the restroom for free more often after paying once, but I wasn't. I had to pay every time. I refused to accept this. The security guard, whose residence permit should be revoked immediately, kept arguing with me and created an unpleasant atmosphere. During my last visit to the restroom, he immediately called his colleague, and I was roughly thrown out while I was already on my way out! A blemish on a pleasant evening!

Loved the vibe. Sat outside under the covers and it absolutely chucked it down bit was dry and warm. Decent beers and the mixed grill was great although it took quite a while to come out I had to eat up quick because had to get train back to airport.

The cocktails were very good, with a 2000s feel. The food was also very good. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We had a great time.

I have been coming here regularly for 7 yrs, on the ferry from HULL. I've never been charged ONCE entry fee,or for the toilets.!

Definitely recommended. The sangria is very good. The mixed grill is also good. Friendly service, and the atmosphere is appropriate. One criticism is that you have to make a reservation for a specific dish, which is announced in advance. Hot stone plates or something similar. It's not on the menu, though; you're only told about it when you order.

The music is just classic pop music. The low rating is due to the €10 entrance fee. And paying for the restroom is a real disaster. You have to pay €0.50 each time, no matter how much you've eaten or drunk!

I went there with my partner on Saturday afternoon. We were helped immediately after being seated, but the service deteriorated rapidly. After our meal, the waitresses gave us a wide berth. Other guests were able to order drinks, but no one made eye contact with us. I even had to call for staff after waiting 20 minutes each time (the terrace wasn't busy and the staff were chatting among themselves). During our last round, I approached the staff again and was told they'd be right over. After 30 minutes, I still hadn't seen anyone, and even after clearly placing our empty glasses, we weren't helped. The tables next to us were served the entire time. I've never felt so unwelcome as a guest on a terrace. When it came to paying, we simply stood up with our debit cards in hand to make it clear we were going to pay. Then, within seconds, staff came and said, "Sorry for the long wait." They'd serve us when we wanted to leave, but not when we wanted to order food and drinks? Shameful, I'll never come back here.

We recently spent several hours partying here on a Saturday evening. It was a fantastic evening. Great atmosphere, fantastic guests, and highly motivated staff. The staff continually created a great atmosphere with their dancing, fountains, and great humor. It wasn't a problem that we didn't speak Dutch. Most of the melodies and songs were familiar from German pop songs, so we were still able to sing along almost every time. If we're ever in Rotterdam again, we'll definitely come back to "De Apres Skihut."

Super fun place, great atmosphere, and fantastic music for a night out. People are dancing on the tables, and the bartenders are dancing along just as hard on the bar. Highly recommended for a night out!

The XXL schnitzel and the cordon bleu were unfortunately not good. The cordon bleu was very tough, and half of the schnitzel had no breadcrumbs left. It was a nice, cozy place to sit, though, and the staff was friendly and helpful!

Atmospheric location with very friendly staff

My girlfriend and I were approached by a staff member on the terrace with tickets for two free drinks if we wanted to sit there. We were initially hesitant, but decided to sit down anyway. We were given a ticket that clearly stated we were getting two free cocktails. When we gave the ticket to the waitress while ordering our cocktails, she told us to simply hand it in when we paid for our drinks. We then enjoyed our drinks on the terrace, after which we were suddenly told at the cash register that we had to pay for the cocktails because the ticket was only valid "indoors" and not on the terrace. This was never communicated, neither verbally nor on the ticket. We then asked for the manager, who said he simply didn't believe us. Even when we pointed out to the waitress, who said we could hand in the tickets when we paid, his response was, "She's been working here so long, I don't think she'd say something like that." In short: we were dismissed as liars, given no apology, and misled. Judging by the manager's attitude and reaction, I'm guessing this is simply their strategy to trick people. He wasn't surprised or sympathetic at all. We would absolutely not recommend this place. Only come here if you're happy to be wrongly charged, mistreated, and sent away without an apology. Very disappointing.

Beyond the exquisite cuisine and the warm, inviting atmosphere, one thing stood out above all: the cocktail without a doubt, the best I’ve had in Rotterdam. Every detail, from presentation to flavor balance, was simply outstanding. It’s clear this place takes pride in delivering an elevated dining and drinking experience. I’ll most certainly be returning. A true hidden gem that deserves recognition.

Great food and REALLY great service! I have been here a few times now and can definitely recommend it - good selection of drinks and food.

We sat here on the terrace. The staff was friendly, but in my opinion it took a bit long before the order was brought. The drinks themselves tasted very good. I don't think this place is suitable for everyone, by which I mean: very loud music, staff dancing on the street with fireworks, dressed in flügel dresses and a live singer. It is a completely different experience than a standard terrace and you have to like it, so to speak. For us it was nice to have seen it once, but I wouldn't sit here again quickly. However, I also know that I am simply not the right audience for this, but there will undoubtedly be people who do think it is fantastic.

The atmosphere was very pleasant. Drink prices were the same as everywhere else. Unfortunately, the food wasn't exactly great. The schnitzel was very dry and, except for its size, didn't justify the price at all. The fries and sauce were okay.

Thr whole vibe is off. There is a metal detector at the door and the creepy guy standing, watching everyone who wants to go to the bathroom. We ordered Coca Cola, it came in a glass, obviously poured from a big bottle and watered down. I would avoid it, if you wanna actually enjoy your drinks

Unfortunately, I can't comment on the food. I was only there for the party 😉 And there was absolutely nothing wrong with that. I haven't danced so much in a long time. A great atmosphere, games, live music, entertainment, and fast service. After 10 p.m., you have to pay an entrance fee, and the toilet is €0.50. No problem with a card. I'm happy to pay for what's on offer. If we ever find ourselves in Rotterdam again, we'll be back.

The atmosphere was okay, but you pay €10 to enter and then have to pay an additional 0.50 cents for the restroom, which is very poorly equipped. There's one proper restroom and three urinals. So, it's no surprise that conflicts can arise there and people bang aggressively on the restroom door. Not recommended!
