Been once and already our favorite restaurant in The Hague. It's nice to sit at the bar, the service is nice, the chefs in the kitchen are enthusiastic and bring the most delicious plates of food to the table. And also nice wine. Go again soon.

Service that is REALLY nice. Really interested, not arrogant or know-it-all, but creating an atmosphere! Very unique experience, we also received the chef's table as a surprise. We received perfect wines for each dish, with explanations. The chef came to tell us per dish what we ate and how they came up with it. Very unique combinations and what professionals! Flavor explosion after flavor explosion. The next reservation is already planned. Recommended for anyone who wants a luxurious meal without any crazy fuss or having to sacrifice a rib.

What a wonderful evening we had here. The service was exactly as you would expect; sociable, knowledgeable and observant. The meal was a treat. Difficult to choose, yes, so good reason to come back again. The acoustics could use some improvement, but it may just be a matter of turning the music down a little.

Amsterdam atmosphere in The Hague at the Coterie. My colleague at The Hague Central Station, Daphne, was very enthusiastic about the Coterie last year. And rightly so. Super chill place I would say. There's a really good vibe there. Relaxed staff, nice conversations and good explanations with everything, asked and unsolicited. The bites and dishes that come along are all TOP. Take the pimentos de Pádron, those green chili peppers fried in olive oil with some sea salt. Really tasty. At the Coterie it only begins, because here it is served with an emulsion of lovage. Wow what a nice plus that is!! Or take the layered potato cubes with saffron mayonnaise. Stunning. We would really like to come back here. P.s. Cocktails and available wines are all correct too. Doing!

We had a really great evening with very surprising and delicious flavors! First of all, the staff is very hospitable, friendly, humorous. They complete the experience and there are few places where the service is as good as here. We had a cozy spot at the bar and from the amuse, to the snacks to the dishes: everything was tasty, tasty, innovative. A truly culinary evening for good price/quality. We would love to come back to the Coterie and recommend it to everyone. Ps. Great food with small plates easy to share and discover new things

Absolutely perfect restaurant, please go here. Supposedly, the chef visits Spain every so often and imports a variety ingredients fresh from there. You can definitely tell this in the pata negra (and the other dish that is similar to it), because that was just fantastic, you'd easily keep eating it and never get around to your main course. The bread also deserves a shout-out; it came with a lavender honey-butter sauce, which was quite delicious! If you put it on the crust of the bread, you tasted an 'ashy' honey-butter flavour, but if you put it on the white/middle of the bread, you tasted the lavender flavour. The cauliflower-chili combination was interesting and surprisingly nice, too! Unlike the other two, I wouldn't order this more than once, but I can always appreciate a unique combination of ingredients that positively surprises you. :) As for the main dishes, the fish was very, very good. It is easy to make a fine to good piece of meat, but the same skill/effort results in a poor to mediocre piece of fish (in my opinion) - but when a fish tastes >good<, it leaves more of an impression, and I tend to enjoy it more than an equally good piece of meat. So, I'm very happy with how the fish was! It also comes with a delicious gravy (which it doesn't need to taste good, let's be clear!). But there is a genuinely good fish, a genuinely good meat, and then... Then there is literally the perfect piece of meat. The meat is possibly the best meat I have ever eaten. Pure bliss, absolute heaven, an angel on your tongue, honestly. And, again, everything just works; the gravy is worth licking off your plate (which I did), and even the 'spitskool' on the side is not just a random addition because 'lol vegetables' but actually works really well both alone as well as with the meat. Absolutely superb, I don't have enough superlatives to describe this dish. The pasta was fine, but I didn't try much of it, so no further comment. The desserts were nice and interesting! The mascarpone was surprisingly nice, and the whole ensemble of strawberries with rhubarb and dragon was refreshingly unique - coming from someone who usually prefers sweet chocolaty desserts, this one was actually my favourite. Sadly, according to Google, the main picture of this dish violates its content policies... You can still see it in the picture with four desserts, but alas. The chocolaty dessert, of white chocolate, chamomile, bee pollen, and honeycombs (?), was nice too, mind! The triangular sticks on top were very nice, but I think the 'ice cream' to the side was a bit too cold to fit well with the whole dish. Not bad at all though - again, I always appreciate unique things, and the entirety of the menu of this restaurant is super unique (except for the bitterballen). Finally, shout-out to the staff; they are super friendly, they know their job, and they know their dishes, not only as a memorised list of ingredients but in the interplay and the art/science behind it. They also know their wines - the wines come mostly from Slovenia and Croatia, I believe, and they know which specific wine (not 'oh a red wine', no, a specific year and brand) goes well with which dish. I like wine only if it's a high quality wine - so I never really order it in restaurants - but I loved the wine here, so, that says enough. My compliments! Please do yourself a favour and visit this restaurant. Please. You can thank me later.

Good but not pushy service. Tasty wines and the food... Wow. Surprising & tasty ingredients and preparations, but above all: this chef can prepare vegetables so well! Even as a vegetarian you will have an absolute great evening!

Super nice addition to the Theresiastraat! Delicious food and good service from nice people. We also handle allergies very carefully. We went here for a bite to eat with our baby, but at some point he had had enough so unfortunately we went home a little faster. We'll be back soon once we've arranged a sitter to sample the rest of the menu!

TOP! Dishes are highly creative and simply delectable. The atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed, and the staff will make you feel welcome from minute 1 without creating a fuss. They are authentic and knowledgeable. We brought friends with us to this dinner experience, and everyone said they would definitely come back; it is to be repeated. From service to food with atmosphere in between, we loved it all. Best of all was conversing with the chef about his recipes - because he is that approachable, and I am an amateur cook. Until our next time, we will be back soon.

The Coterie is the place that has conquered the culinary heart of The Hague. Located in the bustling Theresiastraat, a stone's throw from the impressive Palace of Justice, De Coterie has established itself as a true culinary treasure in the lively catering area. Upon entering this location you are immediately greeted by the enchanting sight of an open kitchen. On the left side extends a cozy bar with high tables and stools, while on the right side a long wall with attractive tables and a mezzanine with additional seats unfolds. The attentive staff is ready upon arrival and explains the concept of shared dining. In addition to a number of bites, the menu also has many attractive vegetarian dishes on the menu. From a high table we enjoyed the view of the busy open kitchen, where the chef showed off his culinary skills. Our choice fell on a series of dishes that reflect the diversity and refinement of De Coterie. Cold dishes with yellow beetroot, spinach, celeriac, almond and vadouvan, followed by the delicious pickled red gurnard with anchovies, roasted carrot and a carrot and mandarin sauce. The warm salsify with macadamia caramelized honey sauce was sublime in simplicity and taste. Followed by the incomparable Wellington of pumpkin, green cabbage, blue cheese and whey. The halibut with beurre noisette, sprouts, lardo and brioche, crowned with a light hollandaise sauce, was delicious on our plate. Finally, the dessert with pear, green tea and star anise. Fortunately, the extensive wine selection, also by the glass, offered a lot of choice from the MariusWijn range Every dish at De Coterie demonstrated refinement, excellent flavors and an impeccable level of craftsmanship. This eatery is highly recommended for those looking for an unforgettable experience of delicious and refined food. The enthusiasm of the waiting staff and the kitchen brigade contribute to the overall ambiance. The only minor downside was that the dishes, although of top quality, were sometimes a bit difficult to share. However, this comment does not detract from the overall extraordinary experience that De Coterie has to offer with excellent price/quality! 😃

Only praise for this case! On Tuesday we spontaneously decided that we wanted to have a fun evening in the neighborhood, so we walked into the Coterie. We were lucky because the Chef's Table (a spot at the bar that looks into the kitchen) was free. We asked for a Chef's choice, everything vegetarian. One dish was even more amazing than the other, really delicious. Each dish was explained by the chef himself, which made it complete. In addition, he really comes across as someone who is actually friendly, enthusiastic and service-oriented, instead of a typical smooth catering boy who squats at your table, so that was an extra plus. Every three months they have a new menu tailored to the season and all products come from Europe. I will 100% definitely come back here! The bill was about €130 for 2 people, 6 courses including prosecco, wine, espresso martini and a bottle of water, so that is also in good proportion.

Service top, wijnen perfect maar eten echt veel te weinig. Je mist goede bijgerechten om genoeg te hebben voor avondeten.

Echt een hele leuke en lekkere avond gehad! Wij zaten aan de chefs table (aanrader!), waarbij de kok een menu voor ons heeft samengesteld. Gevarieerd, bijzonder en lekker. Je proeft dat het eten met liefde wordt bereidt. Verder een fijne en gezellige zaak om in te zitten en top bediening! Wij komen zeker terug ;)

Heerlijke speciale gerechten. De mannen bieden een perfecte, vriendelijke en persoonlijke service. Hier kan je echt een avondje uit.

Sterren niveau voor een betaalbare prijs. Mooie gerechtjes die je met zn tweeën deelt waardoor je lekker veel kan proeven. Alles super lekker bereid en opgemaakt zonder te vervallen in onzin bereidingen. Bediening bijzonder aardig en gastvrij, vriendelijke ongedwongen sfeer.

Heerlijke seizoens gerechten op het menu. Precies voldoende voor shared dining. Aan de bar leuk contact met de barmannen, hele enthousiaste bediening en extra bevlogen dat de chef-kok de gerechten aan de bar kwam uitleggen!!

Hele fijne avond gehad bij De Coterie. Goede bediening die alles goed uitlegt en precies vertelt wat ze uitserveren. Er is zoveel tijd en liefde gestoken in de gerechtjes, dit proef je echt terug. De filet de coterie (soort steak tartare, maar nog lekkerder) en corvina waren onze favorieten, maar eigenlijk was alles zó onwijs lekker! 10/10, favoriet van Den Haag!

Gastronomisch, gastvrij en gezellig restaurant met Europese keuken waarbij de Spaans-Nederlandse chefkok ware kunstwerkjes presenteert, die vakkundig (en) met liefde bereid zijn! In 1 woord: ver-ruk-ke-lijk! Inspirerend ook. Bijpassende wijnen ook top en betaalbaar. Wij komen zéker terug!

Een vrij nieuw restaurant met een team dat een passie heeft voor goed eten. Zeer interessante, lekkere gerechten o.b.v. Europees shared concept. Alles goed uitgelegd aan de tafel. Hartelijk en oprechte medewerkers die de tijd voor je nemen. De combinatie van dit alles maakte het voor ons een mooie avond.

Waanzinnig gegeten. Bijzondere combinaties van ingrediënten en echt een keer iets anders. Aanrader voor iedereen. Personeel is vriendelijk en Gabriel de chef komt aan tafel uitleggen hoe de gerechten zijn opgebouwd. Thanks voor de mooie avond!

What an experience … it’s been a long time I haven’t had such a great pleasant and tasteful moment at a restaurant … felt like a Michelin star experience (very reasonable prices) and with a chef passionated about his menu (please ask him the stories behind every dishes…amazing) and a veryyyyy welcoming staff. What to say…. From the minute I walked in I felt a unique vibe with this place. The staff members were so welcoming and warm and the menu presented was clear, concise and creative. I’ve been to many restaurants in this city and was intimated by the amount of ingredients and recipes on a menu. This was really something truly different and is a cut above the rest. Everything from the cocktails to the dishes to the wines, this is a great experience where you’d never want to end!
