I had a good lunch there with 5 people. The staff is very friendly and, above all, not overly intrusive. The menu is very varied with enough choice for everyone. I had the Wrap with minced meat and chili sauce myself; it was served on a nice large cutting board as a plate. As always, everything is well taken care of. Fortunately, the staff doesn't come by unnecessarily to ask if you want another drink. The prices are very reasonable, and for that price, the quality is very good. In short, after all these years (16) that I have been coming here, they have not lost any quality or service. It has been good every time. In short, highly recommended as far as I am concerned.

We ate here late evening on arrival to our nearby accommodation. We were walk in & sat outside as it was a lovely evening. I’m GF & they had options. The waiter was lovely & spoke good English (we don’t speak Dutch unfortunately). Food was gorgeous & reasonably priced. They had a children’s menu & a small play area. Car park across the road. Highly recommend 👍🏼

We have been living in Waalwijk for almost 6 years now and regularly visit de Galgenwiel with friends and family for lunch or dinner: always a cozy atmosphere, friendly and efficient service, and good quality food and drinks: highly recommended!

Food is fantastic and the service is fairly ok but they need to take care of the atmosphere. There are many flies inside bothering people and they do nothing to get rid of them. There are vectors in the market to control the lever of flies, they should urgently check on this. Is annoying mostly now that they are serving mussels. Other customers doesn’t help as well, there was a table with a barking dog… so annoying

Come here more often for a cup of coffee after walking. Now having lunch with the whole family, 9 people. So cozy! Friendly and helpful staff and the food was delicious. Highly recommended!

Had a delicious lunch. Friendly and efficient service. The atmosphere is good, and there is a large terrace. From here, you can take beautiful walks towards the Loonse and Drunense Duinen. Parking is nearby.

Received a very warm welcome with a group of 16 people. Everything was arranged perfectly, the food was delicious and served neatly to everyone at the same time. We enjoyed sitting outside, where there is a fun climbing frame for children.

Had a delicious meal, fast service, and the beautiful weather helped too. We sat outside on the terrace. The only downside was that people were smoking at several tables. And that is not great when the smoke blows past.

We had a delicious meal (main course and dessert). The varied menu changes every few weeks. The staff is friendly and available. The new owners have done a great job renovating it. It's located on a hiking trail near the Loonse and Drunense Dunes. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful afternoon and evening with our whole family on May 5th. We had a drink first, and after the walk, we were able to take a seat at a large table. The service, food, and overall care were absolutely fine. There was also very clear communication beforehand regarding the reservation for a group of 14 people.

We had the Mother's Day lunch, which was very good and plentiful; definitely recommended.

On Sunday afternoon, Deluxe Lunch Buffet in the Het Wieltje hall with 25 people. Followed by happy hour. Friendly welcome by the waiter/young man who was at our disposal all afternoon. All buffet items as indicated on the website/quote were present in ample quantities and were replenished as needed. But: The "Farmer's Omelette with bacon and vegetables" was actually nowhere to be found. There was, however, a warming tray with chicken satay skewers and yellow square "cookies" (5x5 cm). It turned out those were supposed to be farmer's omelets. No one recognized them. An omelet really does look quite different. Otherwise: Beautiful and cozy room; not too big and not too small. No noise disturbance from the adjacent café area. Worth repeating.

We had a delicious high tea with 8 people. Both the savory and sweet dishes were very tasty. We enjoyed it. It was a bit of a shame that the savory and sweet dishes were placed on the table at the same time. I would have preferred it if there had been some time between them. Otherwise, it was great!!

We thoroughly enjoyed the brunch at Het Wieltje for my father's 90th birthday. The service was always prompt to take drink orders. The food was good and plentiful. We were even allowed to take home doggy bags, so we enjoyed it all over again later.

We didn't have a plan but happened to end up here and it couldn't have been any better than this. The servers were very friendly. The food was amazing! Even though it's more than an hour away from my home, I would definitely visit again. We were with 6 people and everyone had an appetiser, main course, 2-3 drinks and 4 of us had a desert. So together it was around €40-50. Absolutely worth visiting!

We had dinner at De Galgenwiel last night. For starters, my wife had a tasting platter of three small appetizers: lobster soup, fish tempura, and beef teriyaki. This was truly delicious. I had the carpaccio myself, which was good. For the main course, we had surf & turf and the Meaover burger; both were high quality and the portion size was just right. In short, De Galgenwiel is highly recommended!

For our small family, this has become an annual lunchtime get-together. We always make reservations well in advance; while not strictly necessary, it is recommended unless you have any special requests. The owner is clearly very experienced, which significantly enhances his hospitality. He always offers excellent suggestions when discussing options, and he also demonstrates flexibility and thoughtfulness when it comes to food allergies or other dietary requirements. De Galgenwiel offers a charming, albeit somewhat noisy, atmosphere, but they certainly try to accommodate this when making reservations. This year, we opted for high tea, which included dietary adjustments for myself. Initially, there was a near miss because the soup contained allergens, which I fortunately discovered in time. I reported this, and it was promptly resolved. After the amuse-bouche and soup, the platters of savory and sweet dishes arrived, including a special plate for me containing everything that didn't contain the allergens. A very pleasant solution, and not only I, but all the family members present enjoyed it once again. The service was smooth, efficient, friendly, hospitable, and attentive. Thank you very much, and we look forward to returning next year.

Yesterday, my wife and I went there for dinner for the first time. My wife was initially hesitant about choosing a soup as a starter. But after being given a chance to try it out, she decided to go with the soup. After the starters, we enjoyed a delicious meal. The service was good, fast, and very friendly. And all in a beautifully decorated restaurant.

We had lunch at "De Galgenwiel" during our family day. The service was friendly and efficient. Despite the size of the group (15 people) and the beautiful weather (making it quite busy), the food was served quickly. The price-performance ratio for lunch is very reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the food. Highly recommended!

I just had high tea with my sister, who I gave her for her birthday, at restaurant De Galgewiel. I can only say it was excellent: delicious dishes and unlimited tea or coffee, pleasant service that wasn't too pushy, and everything was perfect. I can only say: this is highly recommended.

We had a wonderful meal, and the tasting menu is highly recommended. The spareribs fell off the bone and were super tender. The chicken satay, well, what can I say? Super tender, and the satay sauce is absolutely delicious.

We recently had an Easter brunch at the Galgenwiel and the hospitality and food were amazing, highly recommended to everyone.

They certainly made an effort at the high tea; the savory dishes were delicious, and allergens were well-considered. The sweet treat was a bit disappointing in terms of taste; it looked lovely, but that might just be a personal preference. All hot drinks were included. The cupcakes were in the oven too long because they were a bit dry. Everything should be served all at once instead of in batches. We had a lovely afternoon.

Fantastic restaurant with very alert staff

We ordered fresh mint tea, and the person taking our order asked if we wanted honey with it, which gave us the impression we'd have to pay extra for the honey. Anyway. When we paid, we saw on the receipt that the fresh mint sprig had also been charged separately. Tea €3.10. Fresh mint €0.60. Honey €0.30. First of all, without the sprig, it's just a glass of hot water, not tea (after all, there's no teabag next to it, and besides, the sprig is already in it). €3.10 for hot water is ridiculously expensive. I've come to terms with paying for honey separately. But it feels the same as whipped cream, which is logically an extra. Honey, however, is a sweetener and should therefore be considered a sugar sachet. I wouldn't pay extra for syrup at a pancake restaurant either. I'm perfectly willing to spend €4 for a nice glass of fresh mint tea, but it's mainly about the feeling I get. If the service is friendly, if there's a decent bunch of mint and honey is always included. Not one of those accounting-grade cups of tea that's placed on the table as a mandatory extra. The service has been better on other occasions, but because the weather was nice and the terrace was packed, they were a bit stressed. The food is fine, but unimaginative. Next time, leave out that boring, wilted lettuce.

Last week we made a reservation for high tea at Het Galgenwiel. It was truly excellent, with plenty of treats for the taste buds, a lovely selection of refined tea flavors, and oh, you save the best for last! The caramel sea salt cheesecake!!! Simply delicious! So, do you have a good reason to celebrate, or just for the fun of it? We highly recommend the high tea at Het Galgenwiel!

Before heading to Langstraat 80, I ate here with 10 friends. It laid a good foundation for a long run. It was very pleasant, the food was good, and the service was excellent. I forgot my raincoat in the shop, which was a real shame. Especially since I live on the other side of the country. They were kind enough to send it to me. Fantastic!
