De Gele Kanarie Cafe - Binnenrotte in Rotterdam Centrum

Nice and cozy place to spend a pleasant time with your partner or friends. They have many board games so you can have fun, I really liked the coffee. The waiters are nice. And the bathroom was also very nice (clean and well equipped). The prices are according to what you generally find in the city. I didn't have to try the food but they offer many things.

After a bite to eat we walked in for a drink. Cozy atmosphere and wide range of different beers, but also cocktails are available. No absurdly high prices for a place in the middle of the city. The tasting is highly recommended for beer lovers.

What struck us upon entering was the loud music, which was fortunately turned down at our request. The girl who helped us was extremely polite and friendly. The apple pie that we ordered with coffee was delicious. But I think it's a shame to ultimately have to pay almost €20. That's why unfortunately there won't be a second time for me.

From minus 4 below the Markthal to plus four ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ above at the Yellow Canary. This on the last almost summer Saturday of 2024. It's stupid to want to visit the Markthal on the first day of the autumn holidays. One crowd that was impossible to get through. Fortunately, rescue was near on the other side. A beautiful spot on the terrace of the Yellow Canary. Pleasant staff who recommended their own brand of blond beer. A bull's eye! I didn't hear my wife complain about the wine served to her, and it turned out to be a great afternoon in Rotterdam. And that market hall with its Greek restaurant with top squid rings, that will probably come again. Leo Ritmeester Rockanje

De Gele Kanarie near Blaak Markt is a really great place to relax and enjoy a drink. What makes this cafe special for me is the incredibly friendly service. The staff is always attentive and hospitable, and they really do their best to give you a pleasant experience. The range of drinks is impressive, with a nice selection of specialty beers and refreshing cocktails. The atmosphere is relaxed and cozy, making it a perfect place to relax after a visit to the market or to simply spend a nice evening with friends. The location is great, right in the bustling heart of Rotterdam, and yet it feels like a cozy place where you can really relax. If you are in the area, I definitely recommend that you drop by De Gele Kanarie. You won't be disappointed!

Was very quiet. But sweet and good service from staff

The starters were delicious and sufficient. The main course was disappointing in quantity. Only some pieces of chicken, but no potatoes, fries and/or vegetables. That was a bit disappointing. Furthermore, a very cozy tent!

I really liked the original non-alcoholic cocktails, a good place to sit with friends and enjoy the setting sun.

Mostly had good experiences in this tent. But also 1 very bad one. There were acquaintances of the so-called owner at the bar. When we received a coke with something white bubbling in it, which does not belong in a coke, we complained. After this we were looked at very strangely by this acquaintance of the so-called owner. A very strange event that made us feel very unsafe and uncomfortable. The so-called owner ignored me as a man but did have an eye for my girlfriend at the table. After our order had been taken, this guy came to ask my girlfriend if she wanted something to drink. All very strange. We have already recovered from this tent...

A wide variety of beers. There are so many that I don't know what to choose. The staff are kind. The difference between a burger and a biscuit is a mystery.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience today! We are 3 adults, a 4.5 year old child and a baby. We ordered various drinks on the outside terrace. The child had taken a piece of donats from the box and was eating with the apple juice he ordered. Without respect, an employee came up to us and told the child that he was not allowed to eat! We thought it was very ridiculous, as did the people at the tables around us. The father also did not dare to feed his baby to get comments. We got out of here quickly. Child-unfriendly tent!

Nice and cozy atmosphere. Staff is very friendly and service-oriented. Unfortunately the bitters garnish is of really poor quality! Just cheap and tacky. This doesn't suit your case. Try out 'Management of the Yellow Canary' for deep-fried snacks at other catering establishments in the area. Buy some better quality. Otherwise fine

Nice staff. Delicious croquettes. Just a shame that it was served boringly. Two plain sandwiches without butter, with a croquette on each sandwich. For decoration, I would at least expect a leaf of lettuce/piece of cucumber/tomato or the like from a catering establishment with so much experience.

Service was excellent: a guy was very nice suggesting beers based on our taste preferences. Seems like they know what they produce. Food portions are pretty good and it was tasty and substantial.

I've been to DGK twice and have to say that I like both the location and the atmosphere. Good vibes so to speak. The audience is nice and diverse, which only makes it better!

We waren al bekend met de andere locatie van De Gele Kanarie op de goudsesingel dus leek het ons leuk om neer te strijken in DGK cafe. Met de sfeer is niks mis, relaxte setting en wat kleiner dan het origineel, dat is lekker knus. Ook het personeel was attent, maar zodra het eten werd uitgeserveerd begon de teleurstelling. De dips (alioli, standaard hummus en olie met een héél klein beetje balsamico?) bij de pide brood zijn erg veilig (en eigenlijk gewoon saai), Waarom zit er hummus bij een salada burrata? En ik denk dat ik nog nooit zulke kleine stukjes kip aan een sate spiesje heb gezien. Taai en smakeloos. Erg jammer. We denken ook wel dat we misschien de verkeerde keuzes hebben gemaakt en gewoon veilig voor de bitterballen en frietjes hadden moeten gaan wellicht, maar ik ben beter gewend van de keuken van DGK!

Hele gezellige avond gehad. Mooie zaak. Prima gegeten. Bediening attent en gezellig. Kortom, een aanrader.

Wat een verschrikkelijke inrichting. Afgezien van de muren leek het wel een vergaderruimte voor ambtenaren. Die stoelen vooral.

Leuk kroegje, niet te druk. Je kunt spelletjes spelen, helaas zijn ze niet allemaal meer compleet of zijn de invulblaadjes niet meer beschikbaar.

Kleine porties die prijzig zijn. Onervaren personeel dat har best deed maar de meest eenvoudige vraag moest checken. Eten werd wel heel rapido opgediend.

Een heerlijke blauwe kaas tosti gegeten, met uienchutney en vijgenjam. De bediening was weer uiterst attent. Een heerlijke plek om te zijn!

Ik ben hier geweest om te lunchen. Leuke bediening gezellige zaak. En lekker eten. We hebben de tosti met chorizo en de sandwich caprese genomen.

I come here for the beer and the opportunity to spend a nice time looking at all the buzz near Markthal. The service is always friendly and their beers are quite good. Their snacks are also a good pairing.

Geweldig leuke tent. Met super vriendelijk personeel. Super gezellig en heerlijk bier en bitterballen.

Some greats snacks and beers on the menu here. Good variety of foods that go great with some beers and a nice variety of beers as well, mostly local. Do try the squid, iberico ribs and Korean chicken! Also like the fun decor of birds pained on the wall. Also a fun place to play games with your friends as they have quite a big selection of board- and cardgames.

Lang wachten voor je kan bestellen, Koffie was al op, toen werd gebak pas gebracht, taart van Dudok was vanbinnen bevroren en van buiten warm, slagroom was gesmolten, dure prijs voor opgewarmd stukje appelgebak a 5,50€
