De Groene Lantaarn in Wijk 03 Staphorst (buitengebied)

Kino! Dieses Restaurant wird in „Lekker 2025“ nicht ohne Grund an dritter Stelle von 500 Restaurants in den gesamten Niederlanden geführt. Wir genossen ein 5 Gang Menü mit empfohlenen Weinen auf der Terrasse mit freiem Blick auf die wunderschöne alte Mühle „De Leijen“! *Mehr* geht eigentlich nich‘!

Heerlijk gegeten, fijne bediening, mooie locatie. Echt een genot :) Het Florale menu, volledig vegetarisch, had uitgesproken smaken. Bij elke gang weer verrast, mooie combinaties met de wijn, ja, echt een feestje :)

Wat een prachtige avond hebben wij gehad dankzij het bevlogen team van De Groene Lantaarn. De ene na de andere smaakexplosie en dat in combinatie met een top witte Puligny en rode Gevrey Chambertin. Wow wow wow. Sprong er een gerecht tussenuit, nee alles was geweldig, dat komt eigenlijk nooit voor. Nogmaals dank en graag tot snel.

Heerlijk eten, met een verrassend aanbod. Ook was men redelijk flexibel met de mogelijkheden om combinaties te maken uit de vegetarische, vlees en vis keuzes bij een 4-gangen lunchmenu, zodat een ieder kon te kiezen wat hij/zij lekker vond. Het gezelschap was goed, helaas werd de sfeer wat bedorven door de licht-agressieve toon en daarmee onvriendelijke bediening als er gevraagd werd om een alternatief op de aanbevolen keuze van de drank. Aangezien er geen drankenkaart was, was het niet duidelijk wat het aanbod was (en ook niet wat de prijzen hiervan waren- dat was nog een behoorlijke afrekening aan het eind). Al met al kijk ik met een vervelend gevoel terug op de ambiance.

Ja, dit is de top! Staphorst? Ja, en ook nog op een zondag voor lunch, wat een feest. Helaas hebben we een paar keer moeten annuleren, maar dit maakte alles goed. Best of the best in overvloed. Prachtige ruim opgezette setting. 4 of 5 amuses, eigenlijk weet ik het niet meer zeker, 6 gangen om het complete culinaire spectrum te proeven, pre dessert, en nog wat andere zoete lekkernijen aan het eind. Top bediening, speciale vermelding voor de toekomstige arts, erg gezellig! Niet verrast dat dit inmiddels op 3 in NL staat.

We hadden geluk (29 december). 1, er was nog een tafeltje vrij voor ons en 2 het Kerstdiner stond nog op de kaart. Heerlijke gerechten, super wijnen en een prima bello sfeertje. Onze 5e kerstdag was geslaagd! Tot een volgende keer.

Compliments to the people in front and behind the scenes. This restaurant is more than worthy of its 2 stars. Highly recommended.

Accidentally ended up here for lunch. We weren't actually dressed for it, but that was no problem. Unfortunately we were the only guests, which didn't help the atmosphere. That was the only downside because the care, attention and delicious food made up for everything.

Nous nous sommes rendus dans ce restaurant qui fait patie des grandes tables du monde. Nous n'avons pas été déçus. Nous avons dîné à l'extérieur parce qu'il faisait beau et chaud. Nous étions installés face à la campagne hollandaise et un superbe moulin. La femme du chef m'a servi un cocktail sans alcool à tomber. Tous les plats, des mises en bouche aux predesserts puis aux desserts, étaient raffinés. Le choix des couverts donnés par l'ouverture de l'œuf Christofle devenu mythique est comme une jolie cerise sur le gâteau. Je vous ai dit bravo de vive voix, chef. Je le réitère par écrit. Je vais essayer de faire les petites crêpes hollandaises grâce à votre farine, donnée en petit cadeau

When we said goodbye we were given a magazine: Vision. Unfortunately, a magazine with texts that say sustainability is pointless and it is claimed that eating insects is carcinogenic and a government experiment. This leaves an unpleasant aftertaste, even though we had a delicious meal.

Food is tasty, but the overall experience was disappointing. A few outliers in terms of taste experience, but some dishes were average. The price-quality ratio is therefore skewed. We found the general atmosphere far too stiff, service also stiff. Nice experience, but a one-off for us.

De Groene Lantaarn in Staphorst is without a doubt one of the most beautiful dining experiences in the Netherlands. The terrace is truly breathtaking, with a picturesque view of their own mill. It is the perfect place to enjoy a culinary evening, surrounded by the peace and beauty of the Dutch countryside. The staff goes to great lengths to provide every guest with an unforgettable experience. The care and attention with which Cindy, Jarno and their team pamper their guests is impressive. From the warm welcome to the expert wine advice, everything has been taken care of down to the last detail. Every dish that came to the table was a work of art in itself, and the combination with the carefully selected wines was perfect. The balance between taste, presentation and wine pairing testifies to unprecedented passion and craftsmanship in the kitchen. In short, De Groene Lantaarn is highly recommended. Sublime restaurant where you can enjoy fantastic food in a beautiful, cozy atmosphere. This is one of the 10 best restaurants in the Netherlands, in our top 3. All courses were perfectly tasty and beautifully presented. In addition to the courses, you will be spoiled with many delicious appetizers beforehand and with dessert. The staff is exceptionally friendly and correct. This can not be missed.

Super superb restaurant recently I had ever visited. SLA (Service Level Agreement) is definitely matching Michelin 2-star restaurant level. As for food, you can always taste out chef's exqusite intention to keep the original flavor of food materials. Marvelous..!! If you were to visit Goat Horn area in Netherlands, you have to plan to visit this restaurant. It's definitely worth a lot while and won't disappoint you... In the end, Chef hand-made chocolate gift box to every guest is very sweet with awesome taste...

We eten regelmatig met vrienden bij de Groene lantaarn. We worden zeer gastvrij ontvangen. Ze weten wat we lekker vinden. We komen er graag.

Je wordt hier altijd (10 + 16 maart) zeer vriendelijk begroet in dit mooi ingerichte restaurant waar de tafels lekker uit elkaar staan zodat je met je tafelgenoten rustig kunt lunchen en dineren. We zijn binnen 1 week 2x geweest met verschillende gezelschappen. Dat kwam toevallig zo uit, maar dat was voor ons absoluut geen straf. Het menu en de bijpassende wijnen zijn magnifique. De chef en zijn keukenbrigade toveren de meest smaakvolle gerechten op tafel. Heerlijk culinair genieten dus. En de beschuit met muisjes als extra gerecht mag natuurlijk niet ontbreken. Bedankt voor de gastvrijheid en we hebben de groeten over gebracht aan "Zeeland". Dat was ook een mooi feestje.

Had a nice evening, I didn't think the first courses were very special, but at the end it got much better. Deserts, on the other hand, I thought were great, the coffee was also TOP. I think the price/quality ratio varies somewhat.

Great restaurant. The appetizers are so incredibly tasty. One was so delicious that we actually asked for another one as a joke. Before we knew it the same appetizer was in front of us again. Nice team. Northern mentality, just act normal. Which I can really appreciate in a restaurant like this. Service is excellent. Be sure to try the rusk with black mice and the foie gras with licorice and cherry. Mouth orgasm!! So tasteful. Bread and chocolates are also delicious. Wines are bold and very well matched. Service from the restaurant to take you back to the Havixhorst, if you are staying there.

wat een heerlijke avond hebben we gehad in De Groene Lantaarn. Het eten was zalig, heerlijk, verrassend. De wijnen pasten fantastisch en maakten het geheel compleet. De dames en heren in de bediening waren gastvrij, vrolijk, en heel deskundig. Het was een avond met zo'n fijne gouden rand.

When we are in the Netherlands we like to visit De Groene Lantaarn. This is really a (culinary) evening out for us. Good service, delicious food and a nice location to sit and enjoy. You feel very comfortable here and the decor is also very nice. We really enjoyed our evening out at the Green Lantern and will definitely come back in the winter!

I had an average experience at this restaurant. The food was fantastic, you could tell that a lot of attention and work had gone into everything, the wines also paired perfectly, but the service was stiff and sloppy. It was indicated that there was an allergy by someone at my table, and several times a dish was placed with the food to which the person was allergic. There were also some other mistakes regarding late pouring of the wine and the lack of cutlery. Ultimately received a small discount on the bill due to the carelessness, but this is not quite the service you expect at a restaurant with 2 stars. The location was beautiful, we were able to sit outside among the meadows and with a view of the mill.

Last night we had dinner at this great restaurant on the occasion of my husband's 80th birthday. It was truly a culinary experience, I opted for vegetarian dishes. That was always a wonderful surprise. The view outside is really great. The service is super relaxed and pleasant! I would say, highly recommended for a delicious meal in a great environment!

This time our Michelin tour through Europe took us to De Groene Lantaarn. Enjoyed it very much! The start was outside on a beautiful terrace with delicious appetizers and then inside the restaurant. The dishes were all very good to excellent, beautiful and surprising combinations and with fantastic house champagne. The atmosphere is nice and casual. We have 1 tip, the sale of chocolates at the table raised eyebrows in our party and therefore 1 point deduction in terms of service. The route to Staphorst certainly has our recommendation!

Last night we ate at the Groene Lantaarn for the second time. The first time was so special for us, my wife and I describe it as our best meal ever. So expectations were high. We started with delicious appetizers, all beautifully prepared and great in taste. This was followed by a 10-course dinner with a matching wine for each dish. Lobster, oyster, liver, sweetbreads, chocolate: these are the ingredients that passed by. But everything is cooked exactly as it should be. Truly incredible, what flavors and structures. The service is really good, always serves the wine on time, provides you with sandwiches (these are really tasty) and is very unobtrusive. If you order coffee or tea after dinner, you will also receive delicious homemade delicacies. We are really fans. Thank you for the beautiful evening.

Wij waren ooit op de vorige locatie geweest en toen heerlijk gegeten. De huidige locatie is mooi maar niet overdreven ingericht, we herkennen nog de zilveren ‘eieren’ waar het bestek in zit. We kunnen kiezen uit een 4 of 7 gangen menu. Blij dat we voor de 4 gangen kiezen, want er zijn zoveel amuses en extra’s dat we na 7 gangen vast geen ruimte meer hadden gehad voor de geweldige friandises. Allemaal heerlijke gerechten met bijpassende wijnen en daar horen uiteraard bijpassende prijzen bij. Het voelde wel vrij commercieel om en passant te vragen of we nog extra wilde beginnen met beschuit met zwarte muisjes of dat je een doosje friandises wilde kopen. Maar afgezien hiervan ontzettend genoten!

What a great restaurant in a beautiful location. When the weather is nice you can sit on the terrace with a view of the beautiful mill and farmlands. A ten for the food, the wines, and the staff. Nothing is too much and everything runs smoothly. This is really three star level! We hope to enjoy it here many more times.

What a fantastic location, we were lucky enough to dine outside with views over the beautiful countryside including the mill. This is in use and delicious rolls are baked from the flour. Very professional and friendly service and the dishes are truly beautiful and the wines have also been chosen very refined. You feel like you are in 'culinary heaven'. Don't let them hear that in Staphorst ;)

Wow, wow, wow, beautiful farm with a mill in the backyard. When the weather is nice, sit outside on the terrace at a round table with wonderfully comfortable chairs! Hospitable, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Soon the delicious appetizers are on the table and Jarno, owner and chef, stops by for a personal greeting. The food is excellent. This time I went for the desserts a la card hahaha, in a word, fantastic. Sorrel and string beans, sounds quite strange but is highly recommended. Very special flavor combination and really tasty! Crepe soufflé mmmmmm also delicious and that ginger ice cream on top. Chocolate hazelnut soufflé ew… also bizarrely delicious, plus vanilla ice cream with caramel. We are certain that we will return here.

Whit Monday will never be the same again because in the coming years we will always remember the delicious lunch on this day at this attractive restaurant near the mill in Staphorst. One after another series of surprising dishes, with the rusk as the top dish for us.

Had dinner at the Green Lantern for the first time last Friday. One of my best dining experiences ever. The service was smooth and the food was excellent. You really have to look for the negatives (pace a bit high and sherry-like wine with oyster dish was too intense) and they are insignificant in comparison to the whole. It's definitely worth the price!

Quality dining experience, super friendly staff and a serene ambience. Decor is simplistic and spacious, with subtle high end tones. Wine pairing was excellent, quite German focused but still diverse enough.

This two-star restaurant has been located on its own location with a mill in Staphorst for three years. Not exactly the place where you would expect the crème de la crème of culinary Netherlands, but appearances can be deceiving. But just above Zwolle the detour is not too bad and is definitely worth it. There is nothing to complain about the food. In terms of style, it is somewhat reminiscent of Cees Helder's Parkheuvel. The main ingredients are really central, perfect preparation is the art, without unnecessary fuss appearing on your plate; everything there reinforces the core message. This is also enhanced by the excellent wine arrangement with some original discoveries, such as a rosé at 18 degrees with the sweetbreads. Nothing to improve? Anyway. The controls are a bit messy and look a bit overpowered here and there. And whether you find the fact that you have to decide for yourself which cutlery you want to use for each course nice or inconvenient will probably differ from person to person.

Disappointing for the very high price you pay...7 course dinner with a wine arrangement which I thought did not match the dishes at all. Of course it's personal...but we didn't think it was all that great...shame.

Great restaurant!! We drove from Amsterdam especially for this. The beetroot risotto with caramelized pumpkin seeds is my favorite. Always a pleasure to eat there. Worth a detour, a culinary destination. Insanely good vegetarian menu. Complete wine list with very good selection of Burgundy. Not cheap, but that's part of this high level. Rightly so ** and we make it **(*).

Good reception! We were put at a smaller table than all the other (larger) dining tables. Also right next to a table where the glasses and drinks bottles were for the service. It felt a bit like it was a spare table and place for a transfer. While there was still a normal table in a normal place available all evening. Food had no “wow” factor. Also lacked a bit of passion in the explanation of how to present the dishes. 2 stars for this 2 star restaurant.

Fantastic meal in a beautiful atmosphere. Just very disappointed that we were not informed in advance that all staff wore a medical face mask while we sat on the terrace. The entire evening was a reminder of Corona for us. If we had known, we would definitely have postponed our dinner.

From the moment you enter, you will not be left to your own devices for a second. The appetizers follow each other and glasses are filled with beautiful wines and, if desired, very special non-alcoholic drinks that also fit in well with the endless stream of beautiful dishes that continue to follow each other throughout the long evening. Had a great evening there yesterday. The food is sublime, the location great, the service superb. You will really be pampered for an evening. We took a 4-course menu and that was more than enough for us (we are not big eaters), especially considering all the small appetizers that you get before and in between. The chef's tour of the mill was the icing on the cake. What hospitality! Definitely recommended.

Why the two Michelin stars? Only for the wait staff maybe. Kitchen was not impressive. Get away from all your fancy stuff and cook straightforward quality food. Wine pairing was just not spectacular. We dont need paintings on our plate. Therefore we go to a museum. Just cook tasty food. Look at how Italians do this.
