Quiet tavern, great value for money

Eaten there again after years; we used to go there very often, but now it has been taken over. I must say they were very friendly and the service was quick. Hopefully I'll go there again sometime.

I had ordered a meal salad with smoked chicken. In the end, the smoked chicken turned out to be just chicken lettuce. A bit disappointing. They did offer me the option to choose another dish, which adds a point to the service. The salad didn't taste bad, but it was a bit greasy due to the chicken lettuce and the curry sauce on it.

A fantastic place to enjoy a delicious meal, friendly service, and the food was top-notch.

We were there a while ago. We’ve been coming for years. Not satisfied this time. Pancakes too thin compared to what we’re used to. Ice cream expensive for a tasteless frozen glass. Not served simultaneously. It took a long time, even though the rush was over. We are looking for another place for the time being. A shame after years of good experiences.

Tasty pancakes, cozy atmosphere, but a VERY long wait, even on weekdays. After our walk, we politely ask if we can have something to eat on the terrace. We quickly get a table, and then it’s a waiting game. And waiting... and waiting... After our first drink, we ordered water. We ended up having to ask two people for it, only to receive the water when our food was almost finished. In terms of food, we have absolutely no complaints; compliments to the chef and his kitchen team! There is a lot of choice, but regarding pancakes, they mainly serve standard savory pancakes. It is noticeable, however, that they use real, foldable pancakes, whereas in other pancake houses, they bake the pancakes very thick and use them like a pizza base. Surprising and very pleasant. Indonesian pancake: Chicken nicely cooked; a cool idea to fold the pancake in half and place the prawn crackers on top. That way, they don't get soggy from the sauce. Very generous amount of peanut sauce. Egyptian pancake: Surprising combination of shawarma on a pancake. Very nicely baked and well-balanced.

Very mixed experience. Upon entering, one of the waiters was standing by the front door smoking; gross. The first waiter was very friendly from start to finish. The second one grabbed a glass from above. I found that quite dirty, because there was no clean spot left to drink from. I commented on it and asked for a straw. Next, she handed out the placemats and cutlery, but not by walking politely around the table. She just handed it to us and we had to put it down ourselves. And that while there was no one sitting around us and there was plenty of room. Not professional. The satay was fine, the spareribs too. The beef stew wasn't made with stewing beef and was full of mushrooms. Not how it should be. The pancake was wafer-thin. Our child eats three of those at home and he really isn't a big eater. The syrup bottle and powdered sugar container were very sticky. I can imagine it's a cozy place when it's a bit busier. We were the only ones inside for a long time. The playground was okay. Unfortunately, you cannot look inside from the playground.

Prices - for me it was hy Ok if it wasn't for my current income.

You can also bring a dog to the cozy sunny terrace there.

A perfect opportunity to round off a successful walk or bike ride with a delicious snack. A wide assortment of very tasty pancakes or other delights. The concepts of Hospitality and Expertise can quite rightly be written in capital letters here. Top location!

We organized a birthday party for our two little children here. The food was delicious, and the children could play both inside and outside. The service was excellent; good arrangements were made in advance, and they always asked on time if everything was in order and if there were still drinks available. Very satisfied customers, thank you for giving our children a fun birthday.

Clear! It was indicated that the milk protein is an allergy! So they don't know the difference between lactose and milk proteins. So glad I didn't eat here!

Very dissatisfied... ordered spaghetti (and other dishes) in the summer of 2025... spaghetti with almost no sauce. When I asked if I could have sauce on it because the spaghetti looked white due to almost no sauce, I had to pay an extra €3 for the sauce. I went back today and gave it another try. Arrived at 1:50 PM, and after 2 minutes they asked what I wanted to eat and drink. I ordered drinks right away. The glass was dirty, filthy, and greasy, smelling of beer. Everything was fine, but we wanted to see if we could order food. After asking several times, we weren't able to order until 2:45 PM. Since I'd had a gastric bypass, this was way too late to eat, and I had to skip my meal because otherwise I wouldn't have been able to eat dinner. All this was due to the poor service. My partner and her sister ordered salad, and they didn't receive it until 3:20 PM. After tables that arrived later had already eaten and paid, this made me decide to NEVER eat here again, unfortunately. (The crowd had already left around 2:30 PM, so that wasn't an excuse.)

It might be difficult to rate it as a restaurant, since we were there for a funeral. It's not Michelin-starred, but it's pretty good, and the staff are friendly. It must be pleasant after a walk.

A fantastic location to enjoy a drink, a delicious lunch, dinner, or one of the many different types of pancakes. These are served by the friendly staff. In the summer, the terrace is a great place to relax, with a nice playground for the children. And in the winter, you can sit nice and cozy inside by the fireplace. From here, you can also take a beautiful walk or bike ride through the wooded surroundings. We love coming here.

The new kitchen isn't a success. A pancake with banana and raisins, for example, is now just a cold pancake with banana slices and a few raisins sprinkled on top. They're no longer cooked with the pancake. Too bad... I used to love coming there for a hot pancake.

Super cozy, homey atmosphere. The food is definitely tasty and the portions are large enough. You can enjoy yourself on the terrace while your child is playing. It's nice that dogs are allowed inside while you have a bite to eat. Cozy atmosphere at its finest.

On Sunday at 4 p.m., I requested a gluten-free pancake, which unfortunately couldn't be served because they were out of batter. A huge disappointment, as I'd been looking forward to it for days and had enjoyed delicious pancakes in the past! This shouldn't happen for a pancake restaurant that also serves gluten-free pancakes.

Before taking a walk through the Kalmthoutse Heide, we stopped for lunch at De Heusche Bollaert. It was a Thursday, so it wasn't busy, and the atmosphere was very calm. The welcome was friendly, the service was good, and we were regularly asked if everything was to our liking. We ordered pancakes, and they were delicious! I gave the food 4/5 stars, not because it wasn't good, but simply because the rest of the menu might also need to be reviewed on a future visit!

After a lovely walk in the woods, we asked if we could get something to eat. After waiting over 40 minutes for our food, we asked when it would arrive, and the waiter told us it would be another 20 minutes. A bit long for a pancake and an omelet, especially if you're really hungry.

Went to eat pancakes. Our dutch friends asked if the kitchen was still open and they said yes. Than we ordered our drinks only to get told a minute later that the kitchen was indeed not open anymore and we couldn't get any food. This whole interaction was absolutely ridiculous. Either the people working there are not all taught what happens when or they just decide on the spot what they want and don't want to do. All in all just based on customer service I wouldn't recommend to go to this restaurant.

The kitchen is very good for some dishes and less so for others, but it is a nice place in the middle of the forest. Dogs are welcome which is great. And all the staff are always very friendly and helpful.

We had dinner here this weekend. It is located next to a campsite in a beautiful wooded area where you can enjoy walking. Staff and owner are very friendly. Owner likes to chat with his guests and is very helpful. The food tastes good. Sanitary facilities are clean. Overall had a good experience. The restaurant is child-friendly and there is a playground for the little ones.

After a walk through the Brabant landscape, we settled here for a snack and a drink. A nice and relaxed atmosphere with nice and professional staff. What struck us in this picturesque restaurant is that there is also a takeaway option. There is plenty of parking, a lovely quiet area and nice to settle down.
