A super cozy, homey atmosphere. The food is definitely delicious and the portions are generous. You can relax on the patio while your child plays. It's great that dogs are allowed inside while you enjoy a meal. A truly cozy atmosphere.

On Sunday at 4 p.m., I requested a gluten-free pancake, which unfortunately couldn't be served because they were out of batter. A huge disappointment, as I'd been looking forward to it for days and had enjoyed delicious pancakes in the past! This shouldn't happen for a pancake restaurant that also serves gluten-free pancakes.

Before taking a walk through the Kalmthoutse Heide, we stopped for lunch at De Heusche Bollaert. It was a Thursday, so it wasn't busy, and the atmosphere was very calm. The welcome was friendly, the service was good, and we were regularly asked if everything was to our liking. We ordered pancakes, and they were delicious! I gave the food 4/5 stars, not because it wasn't good, but simply because the rest of the menu might also need to be reviewed on a future visit!

After a lovely walk in the woods, we asked if we could get something to eat. After waiting over 40 minutes for our food, we asked when it would arrive, and the waiter told us it would be another 20 minutes. A bit long for a pancake and an omelet, especially if you're really hungry.

Always good here. Spareribs were great.

Went to eat pancakes. Our dutch friends asked if the kitchen was still open and they said yes. Than we ordered our drinks only to get told a minute later that the kitchen was indeed not open anymore and we couldn't get any food. This whole interaction was absolutely ridiculous. Either the people working there are not all taught what happens when or they just decide on the spot what they want and don't want to do. All in all just based on customer service I wouldn't recommend to go to this restaurant.

The kitchen is very good for some dishes and less so for others, but it is a nice place in the middle of the forest. Dogs are welcome which is great. And all the staff are always very friendly and helpful.

The restaurant is child-friendly and there is a playground for the little ones.

What struck us in this picturesque restaurant is that there is also a takeaway option. There is plenty of parking, a lovely quiet area and nice to settle down.
