A great place to enjoy a pleasant and delicious meal and drinks. Extensive menu and a very large selection of beers. Friendly, professional, and hospitable staff. Parking is nearby and, moreover, free. Highly recommended. Suitable for many types of events and activities. Cyclists will find this a great spot for a stopover. Situated in truly stunning surroundings.

Ate two lunches. It certainly tasted good, but it was strange that the fish lunch was almost half the quantity compared to the meat lunch. The fish consisted of half a slice of bread, a small soup, and 2 shrimp croquettes, whereas the meat had a full slice of bread plus a sandwich with a meat croquette and a small soup.

The most terrible experience in what used to be a wonderful restaurant. First, the amuse-bouche was straight from the refrigerator, completely tasteless. Then came the appetizer, which should have been delicious prawns, but was served at 4 degrees Celsius. Plates were put aside to warm up. The regular waitress walked past four times without checking if anything was wrong. Unfortunately, a young woman apparently had to fix it when she came to ask if the dishes were good, even though they were untouched! I pointed out that it was far too cold, and she took the plates away without saying a word. Five minutes later, the plates were back, still cold, but with reheated prawns, including half of one, which my husband had tasted a piece of. No comment whatsoever. In short, we got up and explained that this wasn't what we were used to from this normally excellent restaurant. The comment: yes, it was from the refrigerator... no apology at all, no suggestion of how to fix it. Nothing. I indicated that I would like to pay for the drink. No response either. Then we just left. Unbelievable, what a worthless staff.

Dearest Gentle Review reader, a few weeks ago we had lunch here; a vegetarian lunch and a fish lunch. We're off to a positive start. The staff and kitchen adjusted the vegetarian lunch upon request. They were very thoughtful and offered a tasty alternative. Thank you for that. The quinoa salad was delicious, but the soup was very mediocre; we would describe it as stale. The fish lunch was very disappointing. The lobster soup was supposed to be Thai, but we didn't detect any Thai flavors. The shrimp croquettes weren't very seasoned; we even left one. The tuna melt lacked any love; a tuna salad sandwich topped with a slice of melted cheese and some garnish left our taste buds cold. The cups of fresh ginger and mint tea were very small (a Hague-style cup). We found the interior rather charming. Part of the restaurant is moderately chic, but the walls of the extension directly connected to this "chic" section are covered in tropical-print wallpaper. An old coat rack made of a goat's leg hangs on the wall with this tropical wallpaper. While we found it amusing, the logic behind the styling escapes us. The service is friendly. Would we go back for lunch? No, unfortunately not.

Disgusting place. Tables are sticky, I ordered a pancake, and this is what I received (see photo). It was super greasy. I had to wipe the pancake off first (removing excess grease) with a napkin. You get one pancake, but it counted as three. When clearing the table, they didn't even ask if you enjoyed it/was it good. Never again. Pancake, hot chocolate with whipped cream (which was delicious), and a beer = €19.50

It used to be better! Regarding my last visit, I'm saying: the allure is there, but the price exceeds the quality of the food, which is a shame because it was a really nice restaurant.

A lovely location, but it would be even nicer if it were designed more in line with the spirit of "hunters' rest." The food and drinks are also excellent and very tasty.

The food is incredibly delicious and surprising. The dishes are prepared just a little bit differently. Highly recommended.

We all had a three-course meal. The dishes were very good. The appetizers were of much lower quality, making them unnecessary. The service was very friendly but lackluster. When guests arrived a bit late, they didn't immediately provide extra glasses for water (a detail). Drink orders got mixed up, so we received the same thing twice. After dessert, our aperitif glasses were still on our table... Otherwise, it was definitely fine.

The restaurant is awesome, the menu courses or main dishes are really really good, the prices are higher, but the quality of the food and the service from the personnel were very good... yummy.

Nice restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. You can enjoy lunch or dinner here in both summer and winter. A pastry with coffee is also delicious.

Had a delicious meal at Jagersrust! It is a cozy restaurant on the Putseweg in Ossendrecht. They are closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Open the rest of the days from 12:00 noon to 10:00 pm. Very friendly staff who do their utmost to please the guest and provide them with delicious food and drinks. It is possible to have lunch, dinner, and the door is even open for high tea. Of course it is also possible to enjoy a cup of coffee, tea or something else in the brasserie. Parking is easy because they have their own parking lot in front of the door. Excellent restaurant that is worth a visit.

Nice, cozy restaurant. Food is delicious, portions are sufficient. High tea is highly recommended. We like to come there.

Gereserveerd als vegetariërs, 4 gangen menu waarvan voorgerecht en tussengerecht goed was. En toen de verbijsterende verrassing: als hoofdgerecht een Broodje hamburger! Aangegeven bij de bediening dat een broodje hamburger voor een menu van €62 wel erg mager was ondanks de goede kwaliteit van voor- en tussen gerecht. Naar de chef gevraagd, maar die had geen tijd. Samenvattend: zeer slechte prijs/kwaliteit verhouding en ver weg van de vroegere kwaliteit. Kritiek ontvangen blijft voor sommigen in de bediening een hele opgave. Wij haken bij Jagersrust af en als je een goed broodje hamburger wil, dan zijn er andere zeer goedkoper oplossingen.

I know that we as Flemish people are spoiled in terms of service... but if you have to wait 20 minutes for your drinks in a shop where 3 (yes THREE) tables are occupied... and then they turn out to be wrong... then something is wrong. There were more staff than customers and things are still not running smoothly...I assume that this was a one-off problem and that it will run completely flawlessly again the next time. ;)

I thought the food was relatively expensive for what was offered

If a restaurant is called "Jagersrust" you get certain expectations from it. For example, I was very disappointed that my hunting dog was not welcome inside and that there was no game on the menu. Even the duck breast is from farmed duck. - the service was very good by the way.

Lovely garden, where we enjoyed lunch. Nice location, friendly staff and good service. The goat cheese sandwich was highly recommended for those who enjoy it.

Michelin Star Quality for half the price! We visited 2x and were consistently impressed by the high food quality which was creatively well prepared. The amuse bouche were frequent and unique. We chose the 4 course which ended with a Kas platter selection that you could only dream about, complete w detailed descriptions. We were duly impressed and spent 3 hours having dinner while enjoying every delicious moment.

Stopped by here on the way through and had a delicious meal here. The staff was friendly and attentive. We sat in the garden. Because of the beautiful, large tree there, the high temperatures didn't bother us at all and it was very pleasant. Price/performance is okay.

Matige ontvangst.Hierna ruim 30 minuten moeten wachten op onze lunch.Werden als laatste bediend.Terwijl we er eerder waren.Serveerster die valse informatie geeft.Ook erg onbeshoft was.Er zat een Cateringbeheerster aan tafel die het totaal anders had aangepakt.Het begint met goede service. Die is daar totaal niet aanwezig.Eens maar nooit meer.

We had originally made reservations for a group of 11 people. They could then make various menu suggestions for this. Due to circumstances, a couple dropped out. This was not a problem, we were able to keep the menu options. Later, another couple dropped out. People remained flexible and I was able to keep my choice for the remaining company. What was also particularly cool: the fact that they had drawn up a menu for each invitee without mentioning the price. Thanks for this. The price/quality is 5/5 for me. We will definitely come back.

Not what it used to be. Other brigade? At least I didn't see a single familiar face. The fries, which used to be pretty much their trademark, were not tasty. The shrimp croquettes contained pieces of crayfish instead of gray shrimp. Shame.

Het was een tijd geleden dat we bij de Jagersrust gegeten hebben; We kwamen er vroeger heel vaak. De kwaliteit was niet meer zoals voorheen. De lekkere frietjes, wat zo'n beetje hun handelsmerk was, die waren helemaal niet meer lekker. In de garnalenkroketjes zaten stukjes rivierkreeft in plaats van grijze garnalen. Ik kreeg de indruk dat ook de volledige 'oude' brigade weg is. Geen enkel bekend gezicht gezien. Andere eigenaars/uitbaters?

Erg teleurstellend. Hadden het 4-gangen menu waarvan je toch mag verwachten dat er iets leuks geserveerd wordt. In verschillende gangen waren asperges verwerkt (stond niet in de beschrijving), de Vitello tonato met sucade vonden wij een weinig succesvolle combinatie, de “zeewolf met spinazie” was zout en dreef in spinazie a la crème. Zeer beperkte keuze in wijn per glas, alcoholvrije opties alleen per fles. Bediening van 1 was uiterst vriendelijk, de andere ongeïnteresseerd. De locatie is leuk maar de prijs/kwaliteit echt niet op orde. Voor ons 1x maar nooit weer.

HIGH TEA verjaardag 18 personen. Wat een fantastische middag; sfeervol ingerichte serre, mooi gedekte tafels en heerlijke high tea. Personeel zette zich volledig en enthousiast in, mooie vlotte uitleg over de zeer gevarieerde lekkernijen en ook goed rekening gehouden met vegan. Perfecte bediening bij de bestelling van drankjes. Met High tea in deze voortreffelijke ambiance en door de gecreëerde gemoedelijkheid geeft dit alle gelegenheid om volledig te onthaasten en ontspannen een feestje te vieren met een mooie herinnering als resultaat.

The foods are cooked beautifully and the place is great, but the menus lack description, when ordering black angus beef for a high price I would expect more than the two small slices that I received. Would be much better if the amounts were on the menu so there can be no disappointments

Upon entering, the restaurant makes a somewhat simple impression. This was at odds with the delicious dishes and excellent service. Dishes were original (and prepared with the best asparagus in the Netherlands) and beautifully presented. Service, a mix between classic and personal. They were very attentive to the different needs at the table and the timing of the food was good. We worked hard and with a blush and smile for the guests. Special thanks to Calista for taking good care of the table! I visit restaurants every week and it has been a long time since I was served so pleasantly.

They want to deviate from their traditional preparation method and classic recipe with good ingredients. That can produce surprising dishes, but unfortunately it is just off the mark here. Expensive for what it ultimately is.

We were absolutely delighted with the creative approach and the flavour of the 4-course menu dishes. Highest level of professionalism for an acceptable price. Excellent service. Unfortunately I am not from this area. Otherwise, I would visit Jagersrust every week. Waldemar

Enjoyed a delicious, original and well-presented high tea

Having a bite to eat with my mother-in-law. Dishes were delicious, sometimes we had to wait a little too long between dishes. Also waiting for the bill.

Great service, waitresses paid attention us and especially to our little kids. Food was great as well, all freshly made and tasty. We ordered 12 uur and it was definitely a recommend!

There is a really nice atmosphere and excellent service. Our food came fast (2x Brussel Wafels and 1x an uitsmijter) and it was delicious. Sadly there isn't a lot of parking space, so there were some difficulties with that. For the rest it was perfect!

Met 2 personen genoten van het keuzemenu. Veelal wild gegeten met bijpassende wijnen. De bediening was vriendelijk en vlot en gaf bij elk gerecht en elke wijn een korte uitleg en konden al onze vragen beantwoorden. De gerechten zagen er mooi uit, daarnaast paste de smaken van alles enorm lekker bij elkaar. Ook de wijnen waren een goede toevoeging. Prijs kwaliteit was prima, peroneel vriendelijk en vlot. Daarnaast kregen we nog een amuse en 2 kleine tussengerechtjes van het huis tussendoor. Kortom enorm lekker gegeten en zeker een aanrader.

Het was erg druk gisteravond, dus we zagen zeker wel door de vingers dat het aperitief iets later dan verwacht kwam. Maar eens dat geserveerd werd met bijhorende amuse en broodjes en gezouten boter, was alles in 1 woord AF. Ons wachten werd meer dan ruimschoots beloond! Het was heel fijn om na het aannemen van de jassen naar een perfect gedekte tafel geleid te worden. De setting, het tafellinnen, de wijn- en waterglazen, het bestek, het rustige hoekje aan het raam, het gaf ons meteen een heel goed gevoel. Alles klopte. Wij hadden gekozen voor het 4-gangen menu en dat heeft ons zeker niet teleurgesteld. Het eten was top, bij elk gerecht kregen we aangepaste wijnen en zowel over het eten als over de drank de nodige informatie. Tussen de gangen door kregen we amuses en ook de tijd om rustig onze wijn te drinken, was voorzien. Het personeel was heel voorkomend en maakte een ontspannen indruk, wat altijd fijn is in een setting als deze. We werden op onze wenken bediend en alles verliep vlot en met het nodige respect voor ons, de klant. Het dessert was gewoon hemels en een prima afsluiter van een avond waar we met ons vijven al een hele tijd naar uitkeken. Zeker een aanrader,

Drei Runden durch den Kreisverkehr und dann ein spontane Entscheidung hier einzukehren und es ist zu empfehlen, guter Service, freundliche Menschen, bestes Essen in hoher Qualität, liebevoll serviert, anspruchsvoll im Preis. Und immer dabei, Fritjes ... Wir haben den Garten der Jagersrust genossen.

Snel ff koffie gedaan en heerlijke appeltaart erbij

Normaal heel goed, vandaag een enorme teleurstelling. Taaie biefstuk en slechte service. 1drankje niemand vraagt of we nog iets willen. Vragen om de rekening duurt bijna een uur. Heel jammer, we hadden iets te vieren.

Had gehoopt op smaak impuls en verast te worden door de gerechten. Helaas viel dit tegen. Misschien lagen mijn verwachtingen te hoog. Prima bediening.

Sfeervolle locatie, vriendelijk personeel en goed eten. Portie was wat aan de kleine kant. Redelijk prijzig.

Goed lunch adres, prettige bediening. Het Vlaams 12 uurtje is heerlijk en worst leuk opgediend. Prima voorzieningen voor het opladen van de fietsen is goed geregeld.

Bijzonder lekker gegeten voor de lunch! Goede prijs-kwaliteit met veel oog voor detail. De bediening was attent en het zicht op de tuin zeer aangenaam. We komen hier zeker terug.

Konden om 15.30 u nog lunch bestellen. Was heel lekker en vriendelijke bediening. Hier komen we nog eens terug als we asperges komen kopen bij De Weert.

De bediening was onder de maat, de asperges waren niet gelijkmatig gegaard. Het gepocheerde ei was hard.

Wij zijn zeer aangenaam verrast door fijne keuken,het was zeer lekker en heel verfijnd en mooi gedresseerde borden de amuse die we telkens kregen tussen de gerechten door waren ook zeer lekker. Dit is zeker een aanrader voor wie van een verfijnde keuken houdt. Zeker nog eens voor herhaling vatbaar.

Erg lekker geluncht. Lekkere gerechten, anders dan wat je meestal op de kaart ziet staan. Wij hadden de BLOEDWORST met desem brood | bloedworst van Slager Ron Tak | gerookt LIVAR spek | koolsalade | rode uiencompôte Zeker aan te bevelen 👍
