The atmosphere is very warm and inviting, with an excellent ambiance. The dishes are fantastic — the French oysters and the meat with black bean sauce are top quality. I heard they have new dishes on the menu, so I will definitely be back to try them!

The appetizer was terrible; the dumplings had no flavor. The chicken main course was just chicken nuggets with sauce, and the meatballs were too dry. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. The staff was very friendly, though.

I had seen that restaurant Feng had launched a new menu that looked very attractive. Therefore, I decided to get together with my friends to enjoy this offer. There were six of us, and we thought the atmosphere was great. It was very cozy, and the food was delicious.

Formerly the Molen de Dikkert. NU Feng Bistro is accessible, has a modern interior, the staff is friendly, and it is fusion cuisine. You can have lunch here, grab a quick bite in the afternoon, or have dinner. The bistro has its own parking lot at the back. We had a delicious meal and it is highly recommended.

Their food was surprisingly delicious! It’s not an authentic Chinese/Japanese cuisine as it is an ‘Asian bistro’. I think we had most of their menu, all of their food was really great. Their service was also good, and the owner (I think) was very welcoming and sweet! To be honest, I was a bit skeptical at first, because I’m Japanese and it’s very hard to find a decent Asian restaurant in this country, but I’m definitely coming back to this one. One thing: 4 pieces for a single portion of mochi ice cream was too much 😂

We went there because we used to go there before when it was a different restaurant, which we liked very much. It was on Sunday afternoon with my friends. Very disappointing experience. Half dishes on the menu are not available. Ordered duck, the meat is dry. Even lemon is dry. Doubt where are those 5 star reviews coming from. The quality of the foods are far below the standard.

Beautiful location, and the staff was very friendly but not very knowledgeable. Inside, the paper tablecloths resembled a Chinese takeaway, and the menus were torn and dirty, even though they'd only been open for five weeks. We had high expectations, and the limited menu featured dishes with promising, exotic names. It turned out to be a big disappointment: "Bang Bang Chicken," a poor, overly greasy imitation chicken nuggets, and the shrimp dish "Shrimp Dynamite," which were exactly the same shrimp nuggets, fried in stale grease. Six or seven pieces came with a small container of samba sauce for €22 and €18, respectively, without any garnish. Rice had to be ordered separately for €6 per small portion. My son also ordered the "Crispy Szechuan Beef," which was fried strips of poor-quality, tough beef with a lot of fat and without any garnish for €28. Upon returning home, he vomited up the "Crispy Szechuan Beef" within an hour! In short, a huge disappointment, and presumably all those good reviews are from acquaintances and family, because anyone in their right mind would never go there a second time.

Amazing atmosphere in a nice windmill with delicious food ! Sunny , the owner , went out of his way to give a very special and memorable evening for our family, on the occasion of our son in law’s birthday. We had a 13 course culinary dinner and every dish was very tasty and delicious! Thank you so much for the lovely evening. We will certainly come back.

It's a shame what's become of the building. The atmosphere doesn't suit the place. The service is friendly, but the food is very disappointing. The price-quality ratio is completely off. The dishes are bland and the flavors are nothing special. It's a shame, because we had high expectations.

We ate there tonight. We couldn't find the menu on the website beforehand. That's because they're new and want to try new things first. We had four different dishes as a starter. Every single one was delicious! The main course also had four different things. It was a taste sensation. We'll definitely be back! Tip: a little more rice for four people. Otherwise, fantastic!

This location used to be a great restaurant. Now it has turned into a Asian Bistro and it cannot keep up the promise. Ordered a selection of 4 entrees and a selection of 4 mains to share. Non-surprising dishes with medium quality, sauce to give them flavor and some were already cold before reaching the table. Wine selection limited and poor quality for the price offered. Tried two different ones, both not great. Disappointed to see what this place has become.

We had a wonderful meal; a charming, welcoming restaurant that serves Chinese classics in a wonderful bistro style. If you're looking to try Chinese food in a completely new way, give this place a try. You won't be disappointed. We didn't drink any wine, but a bottle of sparkling water and two colas; we shared a total of four (!) appetizers, plus edamame, and a main course, for €105. That's definitely not a lot for this level of quality. Moreover, the service was attentive and very friendly. Highly recommended.

A wonderful experience at Feng Bistro! You enter a warm and peaceful oasis. We received a warm welcome from the two owners and were able to settle in wonderfully. We were then escorted to our table and served a series of courses at perfect timing. Amstelveen has a wonderful new restaurant. Go there and treat yourself!

We'd driven past the bistro a few times and were both very curious. This week we called to ask if they were open yet: not officially, but they invited us to try it out! It was fantastic! Once there, we received a very warm welcome. The bistro has been renovated and looks beautiful: neatly set tables, lovely color schemes, and a gorgeous new bar with a lounge area. We love Asian food, and this restaurant is definitely in our top 10. The dumplings were surprisingly flavorful, and the dang dang chicken was incredibly delicious. The noodles: perfectly seasoned with an original twist. We will definitely be back. Dessert tip: the cookie with ice cream—soooo delicious!

OK, I'm one of the lucky ones. Today, 1st August 2025, I was invited, along with a small group of Amstelveen neighbours to attend a low-key and personal tasting menu at Feng. This was a sample of what's to come, and boy, did it deliver! From flavourful starters, to delicious main courses to delectable desserts, every dish was beautifully prepared and served. We we treated to shredded chicken in a paper-thin tempura flower followed by a light spiced chicken salad. We were then served a jumbo surprise prawns, cod marinated in miso, succulent steak with broccolini and a lightly-spiced glazed reduction. A wonderful wine assortment pair with what we were tasting, which was fabulous. To finish we had a melted chocolate chip cookie with ice-cream plus some utterly delactable flovours or mochi. We will 100% go back when Feng Bistro officially opens. The food, atmosphere and service is top notch. Thank you to Yen for inviting us and our neighbours plus Sunny and his team for taking care of us in such a welcoming environment and hospitable fashion.

Hulde aan de kok die toch wel een kreatieve geest heeft vanwege de samenstelling van de ingredienten en de uitvoering. Great meal. We chose the 7-course menu. Each dish was beautifully presented and the taste of each dish very special. I admire the kitchen that can create so much flavor and special combinations in small details, every dish was a surprise and full of flavor. Service was very professional and pleasant. You think all those small dishes won't fill your stomach, but we went home satisfied. It's not cheap but definitely worth the money!

Would love to dine there again, it's only a 20 min Uber from Schipol, so if you have an overnight (or a layover even) go. You will not be disappointed

Had a delicious dinner here last Friday. The 6-course all-in menu was excellent. What a taste sensation and delicious matching wines. The service was also very sharp and we were well served all evening. It's nice that parking is available behind the location. Furthermore, all dishes were beautiful.

Had dinner in early April 2024 - nothing so casual about this restaurant but was cosy despite it’s hush atmosphere. We ordered the typical starters, main & dessert - but what we had was more than we ordered. Each dish/ course was explained by the head server, presentation was beautiful and the texture & tastes were an explosion of colours. The beef was cooked perfectly, the seafood were done delicately and the desserts were too artistic to eat! Best sourdough bread with house-made butter, served creatively. Our servers were so professional and kept the pace of the dinner flowing. Only bug-bear, they do not have Moscato on the list, so had to settle for a Chardonnay which was not bad 😊

For me the best restaurant in the Netherland, so far. Characteristic location, very polite, skilled and friendly staff, good mise en place, excellent food and quiet atmosphere. Super easy and gratis parking. Highly reccomended!

Great restaurant with incredibly delicious food. The staff were also excellent and Noah in particular, who came to our table the most, spoke beautifully about the food. The 6-course menu was certainly Michelin worthy, so as far as we are concerned, that Michelin star can be regained.

The food was unbelievably delicious with so many different tastes in one! I ordered chief’s choice of 7 dishes and everything was tasty, made from fresh fish, meat and vegetables. The waiter was polite and nice: he announced every dish, was curios about our impressions. Though in total this dinner lasted around 2.5 hours, it was all in one experience which worth its money. P.s. 7 dishes are a lot of food, because there were 3 appetisers + 1 pre dessert additionally to our order.

A restaurant that appears on the Michelin Guide. We had the 7-courses menu, with matching wine pairing, and we enjoyed every single thing. I can't eat cocoa so they were very nice and replaced the chocolate mousse of the dessert with a pineapple one, and it was delicious!

The worst restaurant experience of 2023 was at De Jonge Dikkert. Arrogant, spoiled fish and too many misses. On December 22, I took a customer to this restaurant for lunch. It started well with a good amuse-bouche, but from that moment on it went down the well-known drain. The waiters paid little attention to us. We asked for a Bob package at lunch. But there wasn't. What was our surprise? Half a glass was served with the 1st course?! My customer wanted the two starters from the lunch menu, starting with warm and then the cold fish. But the waiter thought that was not possible and first served the fish and then the hot dish. When my main course from the lunch menu arrived, I immediately smelled that this fish was not good. It was also cold. I tasted it and immediately felt a bit nauseous. Oh yes, they forgot the wine again. When I indicated that it was cold and not good in my opinion, the waiter said 'I'll check with the kitchen'. He came back and said that the kitchen had checked it and that the dish was completely fine. That's how it was supposed to be. Not something like 'oh how annoying'. But basically the message was that I was crazy. I asked for the cold fish dish that my customer had, instead of the main course. But the waiter thought I should have another hot fish dish. I really wanted the cold halibut, but nothing came of it. I ate it, we had a coffee (oh yes, a cappucino is NOT a latte) and left. They have no regard for customers in this business. Are arrogant. I haven't seen the chef with an excuse. I haven't heard any excuses. Oh yes, the invoice also showed my customer's starter twice, instead of the lunch menu. And that was 5 euros more expensive too. When I got home I got really sick, even though I had only had 1 bite. I called the restaurant later that afternoon to report this because I didn't want any more people to get sick. I got the same arrogant waiter on the phone, who only said that the dish was good. Again no excuses, no empathy for my side of the story. He offered a bottle of wine 'to make up for something'. But that wasn't my point at all. This felt like a bandage on a wound that needed stitches. I turned this down and will NEVER come back here again. Arrogant, little empathy and too many mistakes. I'm ashamed that I took my client there.

Only down side would be the service; we sat down at 18.30 and left at 00.30. The service was very slow, having the table empty more often than full. Been wondering this place for a while. I found the atmosphere great given you eat in a historical windmill. Service were also pretty good. But place were crowded inside a bit and time between courses were too much. We were there around 7pm and left around 11:30pm. Felt like table was empty large amount of time. We tried 6 course chef menu, 3 of them was mainly seafood based either fish or octopus. I am not a fan of seafood based courses but this doesn’t mean those are bad or anything. Overall we left happy but compared to our other michelin rest. experiences in other countries, there are improvement areas on service and food. Thanks for having us.

Been coming here 15+ years but moved away and only returned recently. What I love about this place, the great food, wine, service and ambiance aside, is that the tasting menus always inspire me to eat and enjoy things I’d never normally choose to order: eel, mackerel, game etc. Never had a single plate here that was not delicious.

Dinner was exceptionally good, supported by knowledgeable staff and a relaxed informal atmosphere. The seven-course menu was without a doubt at Michelin star level. From mackerel and king bass to octopus and duck liver, every dish was a culinary tour de force. The lamb and lamb stew exceeded all expectations, and the homemade nougat, bonbon, madeleine and ice cream were the perfect ending. The cost for this exceptional experience was surprisingly reasonable. An experience we definitely want to repeat.

We had a 5/6 course dinner. Which until the main course was really delicious. However, with the main course we received a piece of veal that had too wide a border of fat on it. I indicated this when overtaking the signs. They offered to bring me a new piece. But this was the main course, two pieces would really be too much. Unfortunately, they did not make any other gesture to compensate for this. And you would expect that from such a good restaurant. A missed opportunity for me and I will not be returning to this restaurant anytime soon.
