I ate here on September 21, 2026, with six people. We all found it mediocre. For example, I had lamb as a main course. This consisted of six tiny pieces, two of which were lumps of pure fat. The price-quality ratio (pricey dishes) has been completely lost sight of here.

Beautiful terrace/garden. But the food is nowhere near the quality the price suggests. Fine food, but anything but fine dining. Terribly understaffed when we were there. The staff (who were very friendly) were far too busy. Disappointing experience.

With 5 guests, a fine 4-course dinner with lovely wine. BUT - unfortunately - a gluten-free meal could not be guaranteed for the friend with Celiac disease due to potential cross-contamination. For such a renowned restaurant, that is really quite weak. So we took her to Van der Valk after all!! Great, never had any problems there...

I ate here with my father and sister-in-law, and the food was very tasty. Personally, given the prices, I had expected a bit more food, especially when compared to other restaurants I visit. Otherwise, the food was super tasty, and the service was also very friendly. I had the tuna Papadum as a starter, chicken and lobster as a main course, and a cheese platter for dessert. My father and sister-in-law both had the chef's 3-course menu. This restaurant is definitely highly recommended, and the food tasted very good. The only downside is the amount of food for the price you pay. The three of us spent €250 for the meal, including drinks.

Food was great, good wine selection, but unfortunately an uncomfortably long wait of nearly an hour between middle and main course due to some mix-up in the kitchen. No compensation in the form of for example a free drink, or even a simple (and free!) apology. A disappointment I didn't expect from a restaurant in this price range.

We absolutely loved our experience! The food was delicious, the service was outstanding, and we really appreciated how warmly they welcomed our dogs. It’s not always easy to find a place that’s both pet-friendly and offers such great food and hospitality. We’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic meal and a welcoming atmosphere.

One of the best restaurants in Amstelveen, situated in a beautifully restored building. You can sit inside, where you can fully observe what is happening in the kitchen. In good weather, you can enjoy sitting outside on a spacious and classically laid-out terrace (with cobblestones). There is ample shade provided by parasols and a large tree. It is primarily a seafood restaurant, although the meat selection is limited. You can order à la carte or a 2 or 3-course lunch menu. We always go for the set menu. Truly exquisite food. The prices are on the higher side of Amstelveen, but that is in line with the price-quality ratio. An extensive wine list aimed mainly at wine lovers. Wines by the bottle range between 40 and 100 euros. Above that, there are a few excellent choices such as Meursault or a Barolo. Limited parking is available in front of the door or in the parking lot (plenty of space) next to the restaurant.

Excellent - the portions are well-balanced, the exploration of flavors in the vegetables accompanying the fish is very rich - the champagne is superb (top-notch!) - I don't recommend the wine pairings (uninteresting and expensive): in short, order a glass of champagne and a classic three-course menu, and choose your favorite bottle! Very pleasant setting.

After travelling 14hr to get to the Netherlands it was so nice to sit down to a lovely upscale dinner. Reservations recommended, as they did get busy as the evening went on. We arrived before 6pm on a Friday. The hostess was lovely, getting us an English menu, and giving us a delightful amuse bouche. She was lovely in explaining the menu, and offering suggestions. We also had a kind waitress. It seemed the service was a little slower, but this may be common here, so I wasn't bothered except that we were so tired. I just flagged her down to ask for the cheque. It is nice to know that on another day maybe we could have lingered and taken more time. The food was EXCELLENT. Beautifully plated. The bread was amazing, if you are like me and have sensitivities to bread in North America, try the bread in Europe - it is from more established and ancient grains and gave me no trouble at all. Before going, convert the Euro to your own dollar to avoid being surprised, it is definitely upscale prices.

Delicious food, friendly service! Good wines. They use a lot of sauce with the fish dishes. We don't always find that necessary. Good fish has a good flavor on its own; a little lemon or something similar can often be enough. We also had to pay 16 euros for three bottles of (tap) water. On top of the drinks and the food, I thought that wasn't entirely reasonable.

What a fantastic experience this was! We opted for lunch after visiting the beautiful Jan Museum, which is two streets from the restaurant. And it was a great success. We received a warm welcome and were guided by two excellent hostesses. The open kitchen also created a familiar atmosphere. But the best was yet to come. We enjoyed a delicious lunch, served elegantly and without too much fuss. The accompanying wine made it a perfect pairing. We also thank the staff for their warm support. In short: we had a wonderful lunch and hope you enjoy it too.

Just lovely, what a lovely place and an awesome menu. Please let them service and inspire you. They have a great wine assortment combine with the menu. This historical place was first a military police station, later a police station. You can see the details on the outside of the building. Inside it is very cozy and warm with, as mentioned, a lovely service. We will visit them for sure and we are looking forward for the summer to make use of the terrace.

What can you wake me up for? Eating at The WineKitchen at Sea. I've been several times and it's always excellent in every way!

We received a tremendous welcome. At another restaurant, we were kicked out after a two-hour time slot. We enjoyed a delicious dessert and drinks there. Next time, we'll have the whole dinner at The Wine Kitchen! :-)

What a beautiful afternoon in this café. The sun streamed in through the large windows, creating a relaxed atmosphere. The coffee was sublime, rich in flavor, and carefully prepared. I had a sandwich made with fresh ingredients, which was absolutely delicious. The service was prompt and smiling. The decor was bright and modern, with plenty of plants. Relaxing music played in the background, making it even more pleasant. It felt like time had stood still. A perfect place to unwind and enjoy good coffee.

A very enjoyable establishment that suits my taste

We had a wonderful dinner last week. That's why we wanted to come for lunch yesterday (Sunday afternoon). We walked in at 2:45 PM. Then, very quickly, they said, "Lunch's over. Well, just 10 more minutes, but I don't have anyone in the kitchen right now..." They were very inquisitive about what we were actually doing. Then we saw the three chefs standing in front of the entrance. Very strange and certainly not a warm welcome. We immediately turned around, which was really strange and a shame.

Fantastic service! We arrived in the pouring rain to pick up our handbikes, and someone immediately came out with an umbrella. The service was incredibly friendly and personal! We've been back again since then and had another wonderful evening! We'll definitely be back. Thanks for the wonderful evenings.

If you have something to celebrate and want to enjoy a top-notch dinner at a reasonable price, this is the place to be. Choose the 4-course chef's menu—it's magnificent. The menu changes regularly thanks to the creative kitchen table.

Beautiful outdoor terrace with an old tree. Good food with fresh products, you can see and taste it. Our starter was perfect to share, enough for 2. The menu said that the sea bass had summer vegetables, but I couldn't find them. No problem, we had a lovely meal on a lovely terrace in the heart of Amstelveen...

Had a wonderful dinner here! It’s a beautiful building with a light but cozy interior— the women working front of house were all warm and welcoming— and the seafood was outstanding! I sought this place out, taking an uber from the Hilton at the airport— WELL worth the effort!

Nice spot in Aalsmeer. Parking is easy and free. I don’t really understand the name of the restaurant (only maybe that they offer a lot of seafood); they are not located “at sea”. The food taste nice, service was attentive! Only downside was that the noice level was a bit much and made it harder to have an easy conversation. Maybe this is better at dinner, we had a lunch and there was a group of people lunching as well. All in all 4,5 stars would do. I have to pick 4 of 5 so decided to go for 4.

Our favorite place for fine dining and also aperitive in Amstelveen!

We stopped there, on the way to the airport. After a week of slashing through the lowlands and Flanders, we were surprised by the treatment, the good quality-price, the treatment and the atmosphere of the place. We ordered two fish dishes made from local fish, well served with their accompaniment and delicious chips with sauce. It cost us 78E for the couple. After paying the same in Bruges for a fart burger and a sandwich with ham and cold cheese, it tasted great to us.

One of the best in Amstelveen. Nice and cozy atmosphere, great food, welcoming service. We had sea bass and risotto with wine pairing. All were delicious and the apple dessert was also very good. Highly recommended!

The food itself was delicious, but the acoustics are very poor. Everyone has to shout at each other and the music is also on. Is a reason not to go there. Advice: do something about the acoustics, there are resources for that!

Delicious lunch with oysters, glass of viognier and tuna pappadum.

Reception good. Waiting too long to order. Paella was quite disappointing, portion too small, especially for lunch. Not the authentic taste you expect. Brioche was okay and tasty. My mother's tuna was quite salty. Addressed as je/you, a bit unusual. Price/quality ratio really not good yet. Probably won't come back, or wouldn't order this again.

Enjoyed the fruits de mer. Excellent wine. Enough attention. We celebrated our wedding anniversary. If I had to give one point for improvement, perhaps making the way to the toilet a bit more welcome and, secondly, a possible upgrade of the fruits de mer with lobster. None of this detracted from a perfect evening.

Great location, very leafy neighbourhood. Plentiful parking next to the restaurant. We sat outside in a lovely pebbled garden with loads of space between tables. Service was excellent, friendly, professional, not intrusive at all, well balanced. Food was delicious, fresh, well prepared, lovely flavour combinations, very subtle tastes. Menu was reflective of the quality of the food, ambiance, service, but still very reasonable. I am sure we will go back again.

Don't miss it. Wow, what a treat to bring guests here. An attractive location and the dinner was sublime. And that beautiful summer evening made us feel like we were on holiday. Mooi restaurant in een oude gevangenis. Mooie kaart met lekkere gerechten. Bediening was nog niet helemaal op de kaart ingewerkt wat een beetje jammer was. Maar lekker gegeten en gedronken.

Very friendly and correct service, and excellent ambiance. The starter (tuna on pappadam) was of good quality, but terribly salty. And the main course (also tuna) was quite dried out and tough and, again, unbelievably salty. A few potatoes or some couscous, rice or pasta were apparently not included in the rather hefty price.

Goede vibe, fijne bediening, lekker ontspannen vis eten. We waren met een vriendin die we al een tijdje niet meer hadden gezien dus we wilden ook graag elkaar spreken. Dat kon gelukkig prima hier, terwijl er toch ook muziek was.

The Oysters are great. Seafood is fresh. The service can be very long so you need to be patient. But the service is very friendly. Fisherman platter is different from the picture posted online, the prawns are smaller 😅

Baked plaice sent back, it wasn't fully cooked yet... apple crumble dessert was fantastic! Beautiful terrace for the summer!

A room had been reserved in the brasserie of Wine kitchen at sea for our D66 somewhat late New Year's drinks. We were served delicious shrimp croquettes and the drinks flowed freely. The service was great. We had a beautiful evening with our members of D66 Amstelveen. Recommended if you have something to celebrate. The fireplace burns nicely and the atmosphere in this room is particularly good.

Just had dinner here. And what a party! Everything (well, almost everything) was right! What a pleasure. I had the menu. I don't normally do that often. But it sounded so good… and everything was more than delivered. Starter: (not part of the menu) an oyster platter. Six oysters (3pp). Creuses, Zeeuws plat and Gillardeau (I may be spelling it wrong). The Creuses were the tastiest. The menu: a mackerel sashimi. I would have liked a little more cooking in the pickle and perhaps a little more flavor. But that may be personal. It was a beautiful dish. Between: a shrimp rendang. Good Lord. The chef who prepared this deserves a deep bow. Real. So high in flavour. Every bite was a highlight. Main: Haddock with a delicious beurre blanc. Nothing more, nothing less. Some carrot cooked in the oven and I may have forgotten something. The haddock was the star of the dish. Sublime. But: for me the Rendang was the one Topper. And I don't mean that the rest was less. The Rendang was simply delicious! That being said. The wine was also above average! Beautiful, complementary flavors. The only thing we missed? Paula. She runs the restaurant. We come for her. Paula is the most wonderful person you can meet. (For those who don't know her; she is a hostess through and through)

I had made a reservation for the wrong date, but despite the crowds, a table was arranged for us. We got a quiet place, had a delicious meal and were able to celebrate my mother's birthday, it was absolutely great!

Een fijne ambiance in het oude centrum van Amstelveen. Sfeervol, ruim en niet te groot. Dat maakt het wat intiemer. En de bediening is beleefd en attent, maar ook warm. Fijn! De kaart beperkt zich niet alleen tot vis, maar de vissen en de schaal- en schelpdieren voeren wel de boventoon. Het is geen goedkoop restaurant maar de prijs/kwaliteitverhouding is heel goed. En ook de minder dure wijnen zijn van uitstekende kwaliteit. We kiezen voor een droge witte Touraine. Voor het eten valt onze keuze op een driegangenmenu van voor-, tussen- en hoofd gerecht. Na een heerlijke amuse met een creme van paling krijgen we een voorgerecht van rauwe coquilles met een avocado-creme. Een veelbelovende start. Het tussengerecht is gebakken Heek met noten en een verrukkelijke saus. Het hoofdgerecht is rode poon met aardappel (voor mij te rauw) en opnieuw een heerlijke saus. Let wel: ze noemen het Salsa Verde en het is inderdaad een groene saus, maar verwacht geen Mexicaanse Salsa Verde. We hebben een fijne avond gehad: heerlijk eten, fijne ambiance en prettige bediening. Een aanrader dus!

Service from entrance to table excellent. More than enough on the plates for a multi-course lunch, neatly prepared and excellent taste and aromas. Nice wines and everything for a fair price. Friendly and courteous service. In short, we will come here more often!

De lokatie en inrichting is fantastisch, akoestiek kan beter. Bediening was erg goed. We vonden het veel te duur voor wat er geboden werd. Oesters waren vers. Voorgerecht met “ gebakken garnalen” klopte niet echt. Garnaal was echt rauw, terug gestuurd, daarna was het iets beter. Het hoofd gerecht van het menu, Zeewolf, klein stukje vis waarvan de helft bij 3 personen rauw was. 1 plakje biet, klein roosje bloemkool en een klein beetje saus. Frietjes waren te vet, misschien al 2 keer in de frituur geweest ( glazig). Wijn veel te duur, kopen we zelf voor 10,00 euro in de winkel, staat daar voor 40,00 euro op de kaart. Brownie bij het nagerecht was zo hard dat je het niet met je vork kon snijden. Voor 380,00 euro met 4 personen echt teleurstellend. Alhoewel groot fan vanaf het begin gaan we nu niet meer zo snel terug

Delicious food. Nice location with parking spaces (3) the rest is paid for €1.50 per hour. Lots of choice in wines and the kitchen is flexible in adjusting things for the dishes.

Visited for lunch I had the house wine rosé. It's refreshing and not too sweet, so it's perfect for seafood. It was a wonderful lunch time under the big tree.

Upon arrival we were kindly received. Service was able to explain the dishes and options outside the menu well. Furthermore, plenty of choice of really good wines. When ordering the main courses, indicate that you would like bread in advance. After saying this again while waiting, it only came with the main course. The taste of the Salad Riche was good and it was richly filled. The only thing missing was a sufficient amount of lettuce. While eating I came across two hairs in my food. After indicating this to the waiter, I was offered 3 options after consultation with colleagues: I could eat the same plate and they would remove the hair (?), I could choose a dessert, or they would take it off the bill. In my opinion, the first option should not even be an option given the quality you want to guarantee as a restaurant. After proposing to make a smaller portion of the salad, this became the final solution. The dish was also taken off the bill. At checkout we were not asked about our experience in the restaurant. We were only presented with a receipt and asked if we wanted to pay by card. Shame. Unfortunately I won't be back for dinner or lunch anytime soon. However, the beautiful terrace is certainly suitable for a good glass of wine in the sun.

Only salty kisses are better than Lobster!

A wonderful place for a nice lunch during our bike ride. We found a spot in the shade on the cozy terrace and enjoyed Holtkamp's shrimp croquettes and a beautiful Niçoise salad (see photo). It was served with delicious bread with salted butter. The Pinot Grigio tasted excellent. Nice atmosphere. Stylish and friendly service. We just thought the menu was a bit too limited. We missed a few “common” dishes such as something with smoked salmon. It quickly became something with a foam of this or that. Nevertheless, it was a very pleasant lunch experience!

Had an excellent meal again last night on the terrace at The Winekitchen. The kitchen is great, the service very attentive and the atmosphere very pleasant. It remains one of the best restaurants in Amstelveen under the watchful eye of Remco and Jessica. Highly recommended!

Really fantastic spot in Old Amstelveen, with a lovely patio area to relax in. Good selection of wines, though the bottles are much cheaper in their shop - a difference of maybe €20… but if you call it a terrace tax and enjoy the atmosphere, well worth it.
