De Leuf: we're happy to drive a bit further. Ultimately, a star is all about the food. And it was beautiful, fusion, surprising, and very well executed. The wine pairing did have one misstep, with a too-young, unrefined new wine. The mocktails were truly creative and fantastic. The interior of the building could really use some attention (oh yeah, we had to ring the doorbell twice 🤷‍♂️). The black entrance still doesn't appeal to us. Especially not for those who are a bit claustrophobic. And the courtyard is half storage space; that's not acceptable with a star rating.

Eigenlijk onverwacht kwamen we terecht bij restaurant de Leuf, en wat een aangename verrassing!! Fantastische en bijzondere gerechten, hele fijne bediening, kortom een hele mooie ervaring en zeker een om weer eens speciaal voor terug te gaan naar Limburg! Tot de volgende keer!

Een mooie restaurant met vriendelijk personeel. Werden ontvangen in de tuin. Eten is heel lekker, zeker ook zou vader zou zoon bestellen. Wijnarrangement zal ik de volgende keer overslaan.

Amuses en gerechten zijn top. Steeds verrassend van smaak door de Japanse twist. Vooral Like father, like son is een aanrader. De bediening is erg vriendelijk en zeer attent. Enige minpuntje was de drank bij het kaasarrangement Wij hadden gekozen voor een wijn arrangement en het bleek dat men bij de kaas een IPA schonk. Deze combinatie vonden wij iets minder.

Het was weer geweldig . De gerechten en het grote aantal amuses die het team op tafel tovert zijn perfect. Allemaal met een originele Japanse twist en zeer bijzondere ingrediënten en combinaties . Wij zijn gegaan voor de alcoholvrije drankjes ter begeleiding. Ook dat zijn eigen creaties, super origineel en bijzondere smaken. Wij kunnen alleen maar aanbevelen daarvoor te gaan. De bediening kan niet beter! Als extra compliment: Waarom geen 2 sterren? Ik heb hier vorig jaar een niet zo positieve review geschreven over een Frans 2 sterren restaurant en dat kwam nauwelijks in de buurt van de smaakervaringen bij De Leuf. M.a.w. wordt er in Frankrijk beetje te chauvinistisch beoordeeld? De Leuf verdient die tweede ster absoluut.

Beautiful restaurant with next level experience and flavours. For all special occasion, this is the best place in the Limburg area. The staff is exceptionally trained but still friendly and not stiff. The food is unique, delicious, beautifully presented, with ingredients and combinations you’ve likely never tried. Great experience from beginning to end.

My wife and I visited the gourmet restaurant "de Leuf" in May 2025. This was our fifth visit there since Oct 2019. Service (very good - 4.8/5): The team was very friendly and very obliging. I really liked the atmosphere, which I would describe as professional and attentive. Food (outstanding - 4.9/5): The menu was very carefully planned and arranged. The kitchen continues to place a strong emphasis on fish and seafood. The style is still characterized by Asian components and interpretations. Everything tasted very good and I would rate the flavours as very good (4.8/5) overall. As regards the standard of the food, I would describe the overall level as outstanding (4.9/5). The kitchen exceeded my expectations in this respect in many cases. I would particularly like to highlight the excellent amuses and the equally excellent main course with lamb. Wine and other drinks (outstanding - 4.9/5): In my opinion, the wine pairing (including a sake) was very good (4.8/5). All the wines were from different, mostly European, wine-growing regions. I would describe the style as modern and varied. All the wines were very well matched to the dishes. My wife had a pairing of non-alcoholic beverages, which the restaurant also offers. These drinks turned out to be excellent (5.0/5), elaborately homemade mocktails - which tasted excellent. Impressive. Presentation: In my opinion, the presentation of the food was outstanding (4.9/5): Colors and decorations were appealing in some cases (4.3/5). Textures and differences in temperatures were always remarkable (4.9/5). I thought that the “special effects” were excellent (5.0/5): I noticed a simple surprise, some positionings and one or two simple sculptural elements. A simple fake effect and two effects with smoke overflowing the table were shown. Two of those otherwise rare olfactory effects were included. Last but not least, an optical effect was included, which was a first for me. This was achieved with a ball of ice in which the light refracted, causing the ball to glow. I thought that the timing and sequencing as well as sizes of portions were outstanding (4.9/5). The same goes for the tableside procedures (4.9/5). The service intensity remains remarkably high with many changing occupations, in one or two cases including the kitchen's team. In some cases, components were added to the dishes at the table. I liked the attunements to the dishes and, if necessary, the explanations of the aromatic composition. I would rate the presentation of the beverages as outstanding (4.9/5). The presentation of the wines remains very good: Often informative and with nice attunements in a modern style. The presentation of the mocktails was excellent: All were elaborately arranged at the table with excellent explanations and nice attunements. Price (very good - 4.8/5) In my opinion, the price-performance ratio was very good. The same goes for the price transparency. In summary, I would say that the restaurant met my very high expectations with seemingly playful ease and exceeded them in many cases. I was quite impressed by the overall performance. Zes weken geleden zijn we ook al bij De Leuf wezen eten en dit was zo goed bevallen dat we nu al weer terug zijn. Deze keer samen met de kinderen om de 21e verjaardag van onze dochter te vieren. We worden weer superhartelijk ontvangen en krijgen deze keer een plekje achter in de zaak. Een tikje donker maar daardoor juist weer lekker knus. Ook deze keer bewijzen ze weer hun slogan: "No Taste, No Glory". Alle gerechten zijn stuk voor stuk smaakexplosies. Waar je soms bij andere restaurants een paar smaakexplosies als amuse krijgt en daarna het gas wordt teruggenomen blijven we hier in volle vaart verder genieten. Elke smaakpapil krijgt de aandacht die het verdient als je hier eet. Verder had mijn vrouw de vorige keer het mocktail arrangement genomen welke zo goed beviel dat ik deze zelf ook genomen heb deze keer. Bij De Leuf hebben ze dit echt naar een ander niveau getild waarbij er ook veel aandacht is geschonken aan de presentatie. Echt een groot compliment voor Michelle. Mijn enige (kleine) puntje van kritiek de vorige keer waren de begeleiders bij het kaasplankje en dat heb ik geweten: Men had mijn recensie gelezen en hier wat mee gedaan. Wat heet: Er verscheen een kaas extravaganza op tafel. Wauw... En de chutney die daar bij zat! Potje er om heen en verkopen die hap: Goud! We hebben weer genoten van het geweldige eten en drinken. Tel hierbij de warme bediening bij op, het geweldige pand... De Leuf staat hoog op ons favorietenlijstje. Een klein stukje paradijs in het zuidelijkste puntje van Limburg.

An indescribably good meal at De Leuf. Many unknown and delicious Asian flavors that are unknown to us. At first this put me off, but there's really no reason for that, it's delicious. I also especially recommend the non-alcoholic arrangement, perhaps of higher quality and expertise than the 'normal' wine arrangement. Also a nice place to sit and quite calm.

Fantastic meal! We were with our family and friends and had our 10-year-old daughter with us, who is not an easy eater. The owner was extremely friendly and flexible with this. She asked what she likes to eat and what she likes. We ate a delicious menu and our little one was spoiled with culinary delights with the things she likes. We will definitely come back!

Second visit after 15 years or so ago. Liked it this time even more. Place looked very modern and welcoming, service was good and smooth. Food was full of flavour and refined including excellent amuses, scallop, oysters classic and one modern asian style, sea bass with thai spices. Wines by the glass were very good and friendly priced. Better than expected and that is always a good thing. Would love to come back for more.

Eigenlijk zijn we hier verzeild geraakt daar wij een serie Diner Cadeaus hadden en op zoek waren naar een restaurant met Michelin ster welke deze accepteert. De Leuf zit in een schitterende carréboederij en is van binnen sfeervol ingericht. We besluiten voor de volledige ervaring te gaan deze lunch: 6 gangen, incl. het signatuurgerecht "like father, like son". De huidige chef heeft zo'n 10 jaar geleden zijn vader verloren welke dit restaurant bestierde. De ene oester is de klassieke variant welke zijn vader indertijd altijd als laatste amuse op tafel zette, deze wordt vergezeld door een "moderne" met Aziatische smaken. Dat is gelijk ook de rode draad in alle gerechten die op tafel verschijnen. Japans, Chinees, Thais... het komt allemaal voorbij, en niet zo zuinig ook. Hun slogan: "No Taste, No Glory" maken ze 100% waar. Dit begint al met de amuses welke krachtige smaakexplosies zijn en dit zet zich de hele middag door in alle gerechten. Zuur, fris & hartig worden keer op keer perfect gecombineerd en door het vele fris, doet geen enkel gerecht zwaar aan. De wijnen zijn hier gelukkig op goed op uitgekozen. Ook moeten we een groot compliment geven mbt tot de alcoholvrije cocktails: Deze waren echt uitstekend. De mocktails zijn niet goedkoop, maar een absolute aanrader. Je zit hier echt niet 2e rang als je alcoholvrij gaat: Integendeel... Een volgende keer ga ik waarschijnlijk ook aan de mocktails ipv de wijnen! Is er dan echt niets te mopperen? Nou, een heel klein beetje dan: De begeleiders bij het kaasplankje (brood, noten, etc.. ) waren wat flauw en vielen weg tegen de kazen. Hier had echt wel iets van honing/compote/oid bij gemogen. De kaasjes zelf daarentegen waren dan weer uitstekend. En het prijsniveau... Deze is niet misselijk en net iets te hoog om daar ook een 10 voor te kunnen geven. Maar, het is zeker geen dealbreaker. Sterker nog: We hebben de volgende lunch al geboekt! Verder wil ik ook nog even complimenten geven aan de zwarte brigade en dan met name aan de dame verantwoordelijk voor de mocktails. We hebben ons uitermate thuis gevoeld bij jullie. Tot binnenkort!

Returned after almost five years. I can say that time has not stood still here. The interior has become a lot sleeker and more modern. Dishes have been given their own clear signature, very tasty and creative with Japanese influences. Accompanying drinks were carefully selected and included some surprises. Partner was impressed by the non-alcoholic cocktails. Service was excellent.

Phenomenal experience at De Leuf! The food is refined and perfectly balanced, with surprising flavor combinations and a beautiful presentation. The atmosphere is warm and stylish, and the service exceptionally attentive. No wonder this restaurant scores 17/20 in Gault&Millau – definitely recommended for lovers of top gastronomy!

Na bijna vijf jaar retour. Ik kan wel stellen dat de tijd heeft hier niet heeft stil gestaan. Het interieur is een stuk strakker en moderner geworden. Gerechten hebben een duidelijke eigen signature gekregen, zeer smaakvol en creatief met Japanse invloeden. Begeleidende dranken zijn zorgvuldig geselecteerd en er zaten enkele verrassingen bij. Partner was onder de indruk van de alcoholvrije cocktails. Bediening was uitstekend verzorgd. Een dikke pluim verdiend.

The quality and presentation of the dishes is fantastic. Service is warm, genuinely interested, personal and knowledgeable. The combination of old elements and modern touches in the interior make it complete.

Sublime! New at De Leuf is the alcohol-free package. Highly recommended. Each drink adapted to the dish was prepared at the table. We tasted fresh notes, umami, wasabi... and a surprising aftertaste. The food is fantastic; really beautiful flavors! We like to go to a star restaurant for the total experience and that was missed here. Clumsy service: for example, table that was not cleaned between courses, glass was moved by reaching for the drinking area with fingers, chair not moved when you got up. And I have never been to a star restaurant where the chef does not come to the table. Here the chef was apparently picky because he went to some tables. We found both ladies, mother and daughter, extremely arrogant and even unfriendly. We also found it cold; not a pleasant temperature to stay in. Too bad the overall picture wasn't right. Fortunately, there are plenty of other beautiful star establishments in Limburg.

Today, January 18, 2025, we had lunch with 4 people. The food, atmosphere and service were again top notch, truly worthy of a star. Would love to come back, Chapeau

We hebben tweede kerstdag, zoals verwacht, weer erg mogen genieten. Een uitstekende lunch begeleid door mooie wijnen. Vanzelfsprekend was de bediening subliem. Restaurant De Leuf is een absolute aanrader.

What a wonderful evening we had here last week. A warm and correct welcome, beautiful property, stylish and warmly decorated with friendly service. And the food (chef's menu with signature dish and matching wine arrangement) was a culinary journey full of surprises and highlights. Cheers!

Fantastic vibe, minimalist interior and the #asian touch is in everything. Enter into a dark room and receive a very personal welcome. When you go to the next room, you enter a very nice atmosphere, beautiful light, stylish furniture, nice music and very smooth and personal service. Then the Chef himself #Robin presents the first of the 4 amuse-bouches and at the first bites I thought wow, if this is his palette, then it will be a beautiful evening. The evening was full of beautiful flavors, wines and a nice IPA with the cheese, until the herbal infusion at the end. You see chefs preparing amuses and desserts partly live, it feels like you are a real guest. If you, like me, are a fan of Asian Flavors, then this is the place to be. Add to this the great hospitality, personal attention and the qualities of these fantastic professionals, I am sure you will have a great evening.

Wat een heerlijke ervaring bij Restaurant De Leuf! Het is lang geleden dat ik op dit niveau nog zo heerlijk en verrassend heb gegeten. Voor mij steekt De Leuf veruit boven de rest uit, niet alleen door de verfijning van de gerechten, maar ook door de perfecte balans tussen smaak, presentatie, bediening en sfeer. Van begin tot einde was elk gerecht een smaakexplosie, volledig in harmonie en tot in de puntjes verfijnd. Geen kopieën, maar een volledig eigen stijl. De bediening was warm, professioneel en met oog voor elk detail, waardoor je je als gast volledig in de watten gelegd voelt. De sfeer in het restaurant straalt een bijzondere rust en klasse uit. Absoluut een aanrader.

On the 10th anniversary of our wedding, which we celebrated at De Leuf, nothing has been lost of what made it so unique back then. We will also have a unique memory of this evening.

Highly recommended, fantastic food. Downsides: no rosé in the house and cheap, uncomfortable chairs on the terrace.

Our experience in restaurant De Leuf started with a warm welcome. The location is beautiful, with a beautiful courtyard and a stylishly decorated restaurant. Not only do all the Asian flavors of the dishes stimulate your senses, but also their beautiful presentation. The dishes and accompanying wines are presented in a friendly manner. There is room for personal attention. I was impressed with the mocktail package. Never had the opportunity to drink such a surprising combination of flavors before. My compliments! Actually, this experience cannot be expressed in words. These young people, full of inspiration, deserve a visit from anyone who can appreciate these special cooking skills.

This restaurant is fantastic. Robin van de Bunt is a fantastic cook and Michelle van der Bunt is a really great hostess. We have been there several times with our children during lunch and they are always warmly welcomed. The food is of course really great, the level is far above 1 star and could easily go to 2 stars.

Wow, what an experience dining at De Leuf is! They have an elegant corporate identity with an Asian touch that is reflected in everything. You are immersed in it. From the wonderful smell of their towels upon arrival, their elegant service, the beautiful interior, the music, the great mocktails, to the magnificent taste and presentation of their dishes. Again: Wow! De Leuf takes you on a culinary world trip. It's impressive how they can bring together the essence of different Asian countries in just a few bites. Their dishes are works of art with strong flavors, where everything is perfectly balanced. I also highly recommended the mocktail menu, which made the experience even better. These mocktails were actually almost dishes in themselves. Delicious flavors and they went perfectly with the accompanying dish. It is a bit unclear on the site, but some of these mocktails can also be made as cocktails (at an additional cost). Definitely a tip to ask. De Leuf is truly a wonderful experience and I highly recommend them. Good for saving ;)

Service was great. This restaurant managed to leave me speechless. 3 years before Eleven Madison became number 1, I predicted this to the owner. For me, De Leuf is completely equal to Eleven Madison. Fantastic lunch with the 6 of us at De Leuf in Voerendaal (read in the middle of nowhere) what a surprise this restaurant is. Atmospheric when you enter, extremely friendly staff and you can clearly tell that this is a family business. Mother & daughter in the restaurant and son in the kitchen. It is an experience from the moment you enter. The partially open kitchen immediately makes you enthusiastic and curious about the flavors that will soon be on your plate. Every dish was a painting full of flavor explosions that were perfectly matched. Father and son emphasizes the family character and spirit. Highly recommended and even though we are on the other side of the country, we will definitely come back.

Uitstekend restaurant ! De gerechten zijn wekelijk subliem ! Smaaksensaties met een Aziatische inslag. Heerlijke wijnen. Sake past weliswaar bij de gerechten maar vind ik persoonlijk wat minder. Een absolute aanrader !! De prijs is er wel naar.

Gisteren weer hier gedineerd. Helaas vind ik de gerechten niet allemaal meer zo lekker. De Aziatische sauzjes die in bijna elk gerecht weer terug komen overheersen veels te veel. Mijn drie tafelgasten vonden dit ook. De keuken wordt nu al een aantal jaren beïnvloed door de Oosterse keuken. Ik zou gewoon weer eens iets anders willen eten. Ben hier wel klaar mee. De wijnen in het bijpassend wijnarrangenent zijn ook al een tijdje niet meer zo verrassend als vroeger. De sommelier destijds was echt top en had altijd wel een aantal "waauw" wijnen waarmee hij ons verraste. Dat is de laatste jaren gewoon minder geworden. Jammer. De amuzes en het nagerecht waren wel verrassend lekker.

De verwachtingen waren gezien de lovende verhalen en het mooie familieverhaal hoog, maar zeker waargemaakt! Het was een prachtige ervaring. Dit restaurant weet hoe een totaalbeleving neergezet moet worden, waarbij alles op ontzettend hoog niveau is: van de binnenkomst en de muziek, tot de vriendelijke, zeer professionele bediening en het waanzinnig mooie interieur, waarvan de foto’s geen recht doen aan de werkelijkheid. Het eten is krachtig, mooi gepresenteerd en onwijs lekker!

Een ware belevenis. Wat een top restaurant. Nooit eerder meegemaakt . Sfeer, bediening en dan dat eten. Geweldig. Zo genoten.

Schitterende asiafusion. Elk gerecht was uitstekend bereid en gecompleteerd met de nodige info. Ik had een alcoholvrij arrangement en moet zeggen dat heel gevarieerd was.

Onze avond was geweldig! Het eten is in één woord fantastisch maar ook de bediening verdient een dikke 10. Wat een geweldige ervaring

Vorig jaar Pasen hebben wij een paar dagen gelogeerd bij Chateau Wittem. Toen ongelofelijk goed gegeten in het restaurant. Wij hebben toen gezegd dat het eten makkelijk 1 en misschien wel 2 sterren waardig was. Dat meenden wij toen 100%. Tot onze blijde verrassing kreeg dit restaurant een aantal weken later als 1 van de 2 restaurants in Nederland 2 sterren, van 0 naar 2 sterren. Geweldig. Het zelfde hebben wij afgelopen dinsdag ervaren bij restaurant De Leuf. Dit restaurant heeft 1 ster. Heel fijn ontvangen, fantastisch gegeten, heel prettig geholpen, alles klopte. Ook dit restaurant zou naar onze beleving ook zeker 2 sterren waardig zijn. Het niveau was echt heel hoog, top. Een 2 sterren beleving!! Hier moet u echt gaan eten, menu prijs nu nog aan de lage kant.

schitterend restaurant ( mooi design ) met uitermate vriendelijke en attente eigenaren en medewerkers , zeer smaakvolle oosterse gerechtjes, mooie wijnkaart , kortom: een topadres voor de echte liefhebber.

fantastische smaakbeleving maar tempo mag hoger. mooie wijnen en Sommelier Frank maakt echt contact in een prima setting. het was druk en dan is 1,5uur voordat het 2de gerechtje komt een uitdaging, prijs/kwaliteit zonder meer goed

Subliem restaurant met heerlijk buitenterras in de patio. Alle gerechten waren prachtig gepresenteerd en heerlijk vol van smaak. De bediening was uitstekend en persoonlijk. Kan haast niet beter. Let wel op de prijzen van de drankjes. Dikke aanrader!

Heerlijke avond gehad met vrienden. Prachtige zaak met fantastisch eten en super service/bediening. Alles klopt! Chapeau!!

Emotionele ervaring, kippenvel van alle mooie lekkere gerechten. Het alcoholvrij arrangement is uit de kunst. Trotse mama met 2 lieve kundige kinderen. Ook het team waauw. Dikke dank u wel. Tot binnenkort. Teejoo Wijnen

Echt fantastisch! Ieder gerecht een ware smaaksensatie, gecombineerd met heerlijke wijnen, echt top! Wij hebben ons meer dan welkom gevoeld!

Juste fantastique ! L’un des tout grand restaurant que j’ai eu l’occasion de tester. Clairement sous-évalué, car il mériterait une deuxième étoile Michelin et un 18 au G&M. Quelle attention au niveau de l’accueil, puis du service. Quelle qualité et originalité dans les plats avec des inspirations asiatiques : que du bonheur ! Décoration parfaite, tout pour que l’on s’y sente bien. On a déguster les blancs locaux et ce fut une très belle surprise. Je recommande vivement cet adresse. Mille mercis ! 👌🏻👍🏼🤩

Superavond gehad. Heerlijk eten, verrassende wijnen en hele aardige persoonlijke service. Vlakvoor de tweede ster werd toegekend. Terecht!!

Hier moet je gewoon geweest zijn, wijn en spijs zijn fenomenaal en de bediening idem!! Top ervaring!!
