Extremely long wait for food. This is just not fun anymore. An hour and a half between the starter and the main course.

We had a wonderful meal; every dish (3-course menu via Social Deal) was prepared exceptionally well and tasted delicious. The ambiance, the portions, the presentation, the flavors, and the service. I ate there on May 26th, my birthday. It took 20 minutes before someone came out onto the terrace to order. Then I ordered two portions of asparagus: one green and one white with salmon. That took at least another 30 minutes, and then it turned out they weren't peeled, weren't cooked through, and there were two per person. I mentioned it, and they said there was a large group inside. Went inside, and there were approximately 3 tables of 12 people? I asked for the chef; she indicated she had reported it earlier (so we have to wait another 20 minutes). Drinks were free. What a disaster that place is.

First we sat on the terrace, went inside, and after 15 minutes asked if they were still taking our order. We had reserved a table for 5:30 PM. Then we heard there was a quiz at 8:00 PM, so we had to get ready. That went fine, but before they took our dinner order, we had to wait another 30 minutes. First we had bread, then the main course; it was 7:15 PM and the meat was broken down too much.

To start on a positive note: the restaurant is beautifully decorated and the waitresses are friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is pleasant and everything looks well-maintained. Unfortunately, the food was a major letdown and even an unpleasant experience. There were four of us, and we are certainly not picky eaters, yet none of us were able to truly enjoy the dinner. The tartare as a starter was served in a small bowl, which made eating it awkward. Apart from that, the taste was not particularly special either. For the main course, we ordered tuna twice and chateaubriand twice. Although the ingredients looked like fine products, the preparation was downright disappointing. The meat was actually just enough for one person while it was meant for two; it was tough and extremely salty. The tuna had a strange color and was also far too salty. The bok choy and tomatoes were barely edible due to the salt, and even the fries were limp and excessively salty. The pace also left much to be desired: waiting almost an hour between the starter and the main course is simply too long. During the meal, we hardly saw any wait staff to share our experience. In the end, we left a large portion of the food untouched and provided our feedback when settling the bill. Unfortunately, little understanding was shown for this, and we were forced to pay the full amount, which only made the disappointment greater. All in all, a nice establishment with friendly service, but the quality of the food and the handling of feedback really leave much to be desired. It is a shame, because with such fine products and a pleasant atmosphere, this restaurant could perform much better.

We had lunch here on King's Day. It was busy, but we still managed to get a table for two. We had a rosé and a beer. Delicious rosé. We ordered a snack platter and a "nachtopvang" (night reception) with three sauces. The platter included a brown roll with a rose dip, a basket of bitterballen (bitterballs), chicken nuggets, a spring roll with spicy sauce, and a basket of fries with grated cheese. It was very tasty. The service was very friendly. Because we had to wait a bit longer due to the crowd, we were given a drink on the house. Thank you for that.

Had a great meal on a weeknight. Pleasant atmosphere. The food was good. The bread was delicious! The satay was just fine. The Eton Mess was disappointing. It looked nice, but the foam should be in it, and now it was a strange foam cookie. The strawberries weren't fresh either. Too bad. The coffee afterward was good.

We had high tea. The quality was certainly good (and so extensive! Unlimited coffee was also available!), and yet the staff was even more pleasant. You see that so rarely these days, that it's especially noticeable. So friendly, thoughtful, and attentive. You could just tell they enjoyed their work. A true asset to Bodegraven.

Yesterday, Christmas Day, 10 of us enjoyed the Christmas brunch! The menu was perfectly arranged, with a variety of food options, and everything was available in abundance. 👌Thank you for the delicious and cozy Christmas brunch, and compliments to the staff. 👍 See you next time!

I live in Bodegraven and have eaten here several times for dinner and lunch. Each time, there's something I don't like about the food. Last weekend, it happened again: we were served burnt food (see photos). I had two tournedos, which were fine, but I sent back the short rib. We also returned the two plates of satay. The waitress returned with the message that the chef says the meat should be cooked this way because it's grilled. That really rubbed us the wrong way. If you have a complaint like that as a customer, there's only one sensible thing to do: properly cook a new piece of meat and serve it. Surely you don't argue about it? And look at the photos and judge for yourself. Fifteen minutes later, the two chicken satays returned to the table, perfectly cooked, not a single black spot to be found. So apparently, it can be cooked properly? My short rib, unfortunately, never returned, and my appetite had also vanished. In the end, 5 euros were deducted from the dish, which cost 35 euros... oh well.

Friendly service, delicious cake, delicious hot meal. Delicious satay. The spring roll wasn't necessary, but I'd recommend an extra satay stick or some more fries.

I ordered steak strips and they were very tough. Unfortunately, I didn't return them. The croquettes weren't tasty either; they were overcooked.

Went for lunch with a friend. It's near the center of Bodegraven. The service was quick, friendly, and helpful. The food was good, and the price-performance ratio was excellent.

The high tea is nice, but it's a bit small for me and I'm not full yet. But we ordered more and it was super delicious and plenty too.

Today we had a delicious high tea, the service was helpful and friendly, alert to signals. 1 of the 4 guests would not participate in the high tea due to vegan allergies and order from the menu, but the chef was happy to think along and created a vegan tasting. This was very popular and so we all four ate from a tiered stand. Also a surprise that you can order delicious coffee with the high tea in addition to tea! Really enjoyed the lunch and the tea! Nice experience.

A (business) Dinner in Bodegraven. Then Roos food and drinks is a nice restaurant to be. Wide choice of dishes. Urban atmosphere and cheerful service. Wines are tasty and so are the desserts. Quinty and Rafael, serving that evening, did everything to give the guests a good experience. So are you in the vicinity of Bodegraven? Pluck that Roos.

We regularly visit Roos in Boskoop and therefore confidently go to Bodegraven. That was once and never again. 1) Because the restaurant is celebrating its 1st anniversary this week, everyone would get a glass of bubbles, handy to offer that when everyone has just received their drink… 2) everyone got grilled aubergine as a garnish; it was completely rotten. We reported it to the staff, but the chef thought it was not that bad and without an apology we were offered a dessert. Nice and easy and no excuse, as if it wasn't true 3) the menu includes a carrot burger with beetroot bun; you get a sticky beetroot burger with a regular bun and a boiled carrot. Not being able to make a tasty vegan dish in this day and age is a huge weakness 4) we wanted coffee with our dessert; it turned out that the coffee machine had "exploded" according to the ignorant and inexperienced waitress 5) service: well, what can you say

The location is beautiful, but unfortunately the food was very disappointing. For €24 we got "loaded fries" which mainly consisted of a kilo of potato with only a few partners had ordered a burger, but this too disappointed; it was dry and tasteless. We had to wait a long time when asking for the bill, and eventually we went to the counter ourselves. We were offered a 10% discount on fries, which amounts to €22 for a kilo of potato. Unfortunately, this experience really ruined our evening. This restaurant definitely has potential, but the value for money and service currently leave a lot to be desired.

Bad service, drinks were very difficult to get. If you weren't quick enough to get something other than the tea, the lady was gone again. We weren't really asked if we needed anything to drink. If you had ordered, you would have to wait a while until it was actually delivered. Food is good and there was plenty of it. A pleasant atmosphere.

Today we had lunch at De Roos with some friends. Nice window table and friendly service. But....I had a satay tenderloin which looked delicious, but the meat really had nothing to do with tenderloin. It was even tough to cut, let alone tender to eat. I even left a piece behind. Anyway; I quickly reported it, but they indicated that it was really tenderloin and then the discussion ends with me; we are having a nice meal. So dear people; quality is really important.

We ordered the salmon bombe with Dutch shrimps in advance, we got crayfish, also quite tasty. After a comment about this, nothing was done, with the second comment there was an answer that they were just shrimp! Pf we do not see or taste the difference (pink and gray) Main course swordfish, well fried with crispy vegetables, only a much too salty sauce, nothing was done with this either, a pity.

Had a beer with bitterballen on the terrace and then dinner. 3 types of satay to choose from… It's not necessarily cheap.

Super nice staff, very friendly! The staff knew how to explain the menu well, what the food entailed and which wine would go well with it. There was also a delicious mocktail! The food was delicious, and the service was great! We will definitely come back more often to enjoy the delicious food! :) The interior was beautiful and there was a warm atmosphere!

Rose is a keeper. The place exudes a lot of atmosphere and was packed with lunch on Thursday. Service is friendly and attentive. Food is fresh and beautifully prepared. I would like to come back, because being able to eat out for business in Bodegraven is not a given. It's great that it is always well occupied in the first weeks after opening. Keep it up! Small tip: when fully occupied, the sound insulation can still be improved slightly.

What struck me first was the noise, we had to lean over the table to hear each other. Super service, nothing to complain about, but I thought the food was very substandard. I had tenderloin steak with 1 pen with a few pieces of meat and it was very dry, not good value for money unfortunately. So not worth repeating.

Eten was voortreffelijk. Ambiance buiten vonden wij ets minder. Tafel niet helemaal stabiel en de stoelen waren niet schoon/fris.

Heerlijk gegeten. Je krijgt veel eten, ik had een bord ravioli maar ik kreeg aanvullend ern schaaltje patat, salade en 3 soorten mayonaise. Veel waar voor je geld.

Although the service was nice and friendly the food was not good at all. We had the Christmas menu. Let's begin with the appetizer. The one from the "kindermenu" was only a plate of chips. Horrible. The one we got was acceptable. Some bief with a salad. Then the champignon soup was also ok. The tomato soep for the children was a simple bouillon with I guess tomato puree or something, It was waterig. The "risotto" was de worst. A simple precooked rice (not risotto). I think it was cooked in water cause it has no flavor at all.The fish that came with it was ok. The spaghetti for the children was supposed to be "bolognese". It has no meat in it. The souce was just the same tomato soup mixed with the pasta. Main course was overcooked . For dessert they bought a bunch of pies, cut them in little pieces and then to a plate. In general, nothing was fresh , I guess they only cooked the meat and for the rest it was frozen food or precooked or from a bag. I will not recommend this place.

Mooie kaart, lunch plank is een echte aanrader. Mooi ingericht al mogen de tafels van mij wel iets groter zijn. De ruimte is er wel. In juli 2022 in een week 2x geweest. Op donderdag uiterst vriendelijk behandeld, de maandag erna ronduit chagrijnig personeel. Jammer. Verder prima zaak.

Sehr freundliches Personal und schmackhaftes Essen. Wir hatten als Gerichte, zwei mal die Hamburger und zwei mal die Sparerips. Toll, dass hier zu den Pommes, drei verschiedenen Mayonnaisen gereicht werden. Das Preis / Leistungsverhältnis ist etwas gehoben, jedoch gut im Rahmen! Was wünscht man sich mehr zum Start in den Urlaub!

La bebida tardó 8 minutos aproximadamente. El cheesecake tenía al inicio un sabor extraño como que estaba con otro producto en la refrigeradora, las fresas les faltaba una lavada. El cocktail me gustó!
