De Nar in Wijk 00 Lekkerkerk

Sunday evening, July 7th. The restaurant was completely full. We sat outside on the terrace. When the drinks we had ordered were brought to us, I asked the waiter if they were serving sole. He confirmed this with a broad smile. After the reasonable starter, it took 75 minutes before the main course was served. Upon inquiry, it turned out that due to staff holidays, only one cook was available. We waited patiently. The 3 soles were very small, thin, and cold, and there was so little fish on the bone that I had difficulty getting it off. Moreover, they had been fried for too long, making the fish tough. My partner's pasta salad was the size of a small starter. When I mentioned this to the waiter when paying the bill, his only response was "Oh! Would you like to pay by card or in cash?" and he offered me the card reader for payment. In hindsight, I naturally made the mistake of not immediately refusing the dish upon serving. Being busy should not be a reason for the quality of the food to deteriorate. I would have greatly appreciated a somewhat more empathetic response from the staff.

On February 6th, we had a delicious meal at Eetcafé de Nar. The service was excellent, the food was good, and the atmosphere was very cozy! I recommend everyone to eat there if you're in the area! And the coffee afterward was truly the icing on the cake. We'll definitely be back!

On our only evening in this little Dutch village, we decided to dine at this restaurant. The atmosphere is simple and welcoming. The service isn't particularly fast, but it's attentive and friendly. The food is truly excellent, from the appetizer to the truly delicious meat main course, to the homemade apple dessert, which they make themselves, like all the desserts. Highly recommended.

No matter how ordinary it may seem sometimes, dining out is always a treat for us. After our less-than-pleasant experience last time – when we had to wait so long – we were especially happy that everything was perfect again this time. Except for the cold heating, which thankfully was turned on quickly, everything was exactly as we like it: a warm welcome, swift service, and excellent food, with excellent consideration for our personal preferences. It's a place we'll happily visit again in the new year.

We had a wonderful meal with our family on Sunday evening, December 14th. There was some hilarity early in the evening due to the unexpected power outage. A creative solution was found with an extra light on the table. But it's a cozy restaurant with friendly service and an excellent menu of delicious dishes.

We had lunch at De Nar tonight. It was very peaceful and the food was delicious. Unfortunately, my mother became unwell before we left, so the owner offered to take us home. Since we were traveling by public transport, we were naturally very happy about this, as we would have had to order a taxi from Rotterdam. What a fantastic hostess! Thank you so much, Sofia.

We had a bite to eat here before we went to Ahoy. They have a great menu and we had a wonderful meal. They were also very helpful and had a pleasant atmosphere. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely be back.

The steak was supposed to be medium but it was completely rare. We had to wait a very long time for our food.

As a foreigner from Rochester, NY, this place absolutely blew me away. Our wonderful Air Bnb host called and set us up a reservation. The staff was lovely and the food was fantastic, especially the lamb. I fully intend to come back to this restaurant again next time I come back to The Netherlands. We stumbled upon Lekkerkerk. We had a truly delicious meal here, and the menu offers a wide variety of choices. The plates were beautifully presented and of good quality. The service was very friendly and welcoming. We'd love to come back again, and we were pleasantly surprised.

Just a dime a dozen, a 12-hour snack with 2 slices, a croquette, a slice of ham, cheese, a fried egg, and a salad bowl with soup. 13.50!!, factory-made toasted sandwich 6.50!!. Why are all coffee cups only half full these days for full price?

I just happened to pop in, having dinner with my wife yesterday. It had a really cozy, homey atmosphere and was incredibly good! Just another fantastic, cozy little restaurant, just the way it should be. We'll definitely be back!

Nice place in Lekkerkerk. Cosy, authentic, atmospheric. Host Patrick knows how to put you at ease and knows how to give that little bit extra. Always enjoy going there.

Since we started eating here by chance a year ago, we have been coming back regularly. And we rarely do that at the same restaurant. But here we feel at home because of the hospitality, the conviviality and the delicious food prepared with local products and love.

After a short drive through the polder, you arrive at the village of Lekkerkerk where this café is located. It is small but nice. It is probably a family "restaurant" There are many dishes on the dinner menu, which were very tasty. However, spare ribs are not their specialty. Very tough and very dry. Not prepared properly. For the rest, this eatery really gets the benefit of the doubt, because the rest of the dishes are fantastic and the starters are also delicious. Hopefully there will be a plus change for the spare ribs. We will definitely come back again.

We had a delicious meal with a large group (20 people), everything was to your liking and very tasty! The small children also lacked nothing. Top eatery!

A building with a long tradition and on the Lek, that is gold in the bucket for me, we only had a drink there, but there is something about those clumsy trees in front of it, worth repeating, I think.

Very tasty food. Better than at hotels or other restaurants in Lekkerkerk. The Irish Coffee also doesn't come with whipped cream, but just whipped cream, so they just know how it should be done here. Really great and highly recommended!

What nice owners and staff at De Nar! We were a group of 14 for an anniversary, had a delicious meal, the atmosphere was fantastic and they took great care to ensure that we had a very nice party. The menu had an Irish Coffee lobster soup, I couldn't resist ordering it and ooh it was so delicious!!

Based on the good reviews and not disappointed. We had a really delicious meal. Friendly atmosphere, informal, but there is a great chef in the kitchen. Fresh bread with spreads, trio of game, Spanish shrimps as a starter and pepper steak and guinea fowl as a main course. Nice crispy skin on the guinea fowl!

Had a fantastic meal at De Nar cafe. What a taste experience, wonderful. My partner went for the slip sole. Old-fashioned tasty, 3 good soles. I myself ate venison steak with red cabbage stew. Fantastic !! Highly recommended. The hostess and the young man served us very friendly.

Leuk kleinschalig restaurant. De hertenbiefstuk die wij hadden, smaakte overheerlijk.

Vanavond hier voor de eerste keer gegeten, het was heerlijk en eten was ruim voldoende, we komen zeker nog een keer terug. eigenaar en personeel waren zeer vriendelijk, zeker een aanrader.

Gezellig ingericht met spontane en vriendelijke bediening. Eten was precies goed klaar gemaakt en je krijgt volle borden. Voor een leuk prijsje kan je heerlijk eten. Wij waren er kerstavond 2022, al vroeg in de avond. Zeer aan te bevelen!!!

Mijn slibtongetjes waren helaas te hard gebakken. Drooggebakken en dan bakvet erbij serveren.. De eendenborst was taai. Al met al was het te eten maar niet dat je zegt wow...wat een aanrader.
