We had a fantastic meal at De Hommel. The staff is very (child) friendly, and the chef is passionate about his craft. For the Muslims among us: don't be put off by the alcohol that's still available. The kitchen is 100% halal, and the food is truly excellent. Made with love, passion, and expertise. We'll definitely be back!

Don't go here just for food; you go here for the culinary experience. Prepare to be amazed by the flavors of the various dishes. You can tell the kitchen pays close attention to the composition of each dish. We also enjoyed chatting with the chef, his passion, and the development of the menu. Besides the excellent dishes, the service is also fantastic! Highly recommended.

With another couple, so there were four of us, we dined here on Saturday night. The chef came by several times to explain what we were eating. Fabio, a really great chef. The service was also excellent. We had a starter, main course, and dessert. We definitely recommend the veal tenderloin. And of course, the mushroom soup was delicious. We also highly recommend the Hommel tapas. For dessert, we had the panna cotta, which was served in a real orange. Highly recommended if you're looking for a relaxing and delicious dinner.

Starting in December 2024, new owner Amir will be hosting De Hommel, located on the waterfront near Beek en Donk. We had a fantastic meal and the seating was very pleasant. You really need to forget about the old Hommel. This place is so good and welcoming, with beautiful dishes and excellent wine. You'd be happy to fill the restaurant with these people! I highly recommend giving it a try.

Yesterday, the two of us thoroughly enjoyed our 43rd wedding anniversary with a delicious appetizer, followed by a wonderful cucumber soup. Today I went to eat with my two sisters and mother, and I can only say one thing: wow. Upon arrival, there was ample parking space. Inside, it was immediately noticeable how much attention had been paid to the aesthetics of the interior. Even before we had eaten anything, I felt spoiled. The furniture was in excellent condition and exuded not only luxury, but also cleanliness. The service (and the chef!) understand that people don't just come to eat - it's about the whole experience. And that was great! Warm plates, spacious tables, comfortable seats... everything had been thought of. The menu is easy to read and - certainly not unimportant - clear and concise. The prices we paid were also very normal, which made the experience even more pleasant. What also struck me was how well the service keeps an overview - in a positive way. You never have to wait long, but they are not pushy either. You have the feeling that everything goes automatically. It's great to see that such a young team understands so well that hospitality goes beyond just the plate of food. My compliments! Until next time!

My sister and I have lunch here regularly and are always very satisfied. We are both vegetarian and choose a delicious fresh sandwich with top hummus and a large mountain of roasted vegetables with nuts and dates. The wine list is fantastic. The price/quality ratio is excellent. The service and the owner are very friendly and attentive. Chapeau!

Mother's Day 2025 enjoyed a 3-course surprise menu on the terrace with matching liqueur per course. Beautiful fish dishes with surprising flavor combinations. We will definitely come back here again.

We had been planning to visit this restaurant for a long time, especially since it has been under new ownership for several months. Very pleasantly surprised, not only by the delicious cuisine and how the dishes are served (they are just paintings, I was apparently so impressed by them that I forgot to take a photo 🤣), but certainly also by the personal attention of the owner himself. A very endearing personality who more than deserves it, we have already planned the next visit!

Update 2025: Things are very bad after the takeover. Prices for something tasty with coffee are ridiculous. Went on Saturday April 12, 2025 around 11:30 am. No one to be seen. Sat on the terrace for 10 minutes, no one comes to help. Went in, called 4 times. Called into the kitchen and knocked twice loudly and walked to the back and called there. Everything was open but there was no one to be seen. The next bankruptcy is on its way. 2019: Great restaurant. Very nice point near the canal on the edge of Beek en Donk. Lunch menu varies with good prices. Definitely recommended to visit. TIP: Great stopover if you are cycling.

It was early in the day, on our way to Limburg (weekend away) with the family and we were hungry so we thought we'd go to DE HOMMEL (we had been here years ago!! But I think it is a new owner because it was very attractive and tidy (not at the time:)) we were the only ones so we got our food quickly!! Friendly service, delicious food!! Recently taken over by new owner. Today was Valentine's Day. My partner and I opted for the 4-course surprise menu. What a wonderful experience. The food was 12/10 points. The chef comes to your table and explains what you are being served. You notice that the chef likes to experiment with food. The service was perfect, I recommend everyone to eat here. Keep it up, a great concept can arise here. In my opinion the price is on the low side for what you get. If I had had to pay 20 - 40 euros more, this would certainly not have been a problem. I can see another Michelin star coming here.

After an afternoon of shopping, we stopped at De Hommel. A beautiful, atmospheric restaurant with quiet background music, beautifully decorated for the time of year. The staff is incredibly friendly and hospitable. The menu has something for everyone; meat, fish, vegetarian and also a children's menu is available. There are also snacks and nachos on the menu, so this location is also suitable for a good drink. We had tomato soup, stuffed zucchini, vegan pasta and sea bass. Delicious dishes, tastefully served, also a feast for the eyes. The dishes were explained by the chef. The passion for catering is palpable. We had no room left for dessert. We wish Amir and his team every success.

My girlfriend and I went to this restaurant for the first time. The atmosphere is peaceful and beautiful, and the food has excellent taste. We also had a warm conversation with the new owner of the restaurant, Mr. Amir.

Yesterday we had a delicious meal at the bumblebee. Quite coincidentally, a few days after the reopening. We received a friendly welcome and were given a nice central table. What immediately stood out was the quiet atmosphere and that the other guests were nicely distributed throughout the restaurant so that you were still sitting quite privately. We opted for the 4-course surprise menu and what a surprise that was. Beautiful explanations for each dish from the chef himself and he did this with the same passion as he cooks. As a starter, stuffed zucchini with rice and vegetarian minced meat. Then a chickpea soup. As a main course, fried sea bass with warm vegetables. Then a delicious dessert that I can only describe as heavenly. We ate things that we would never have chosen ourselves, but we enjoyed them. It may seem a bit over-enthusiastic as I describe it, but this is also how we experienced it. Normally I rarely give 5 stars for everything, but if it had been possible to give more stars I would have done so. Thank you Amir and his team for this great experience, good luck and keep it up.

Delicious food at De Nieuwe Hommel! I recently had the pleasure of dining at De Nieuwe Hommel and it was a very positive experience. The main course, a large piece of spare ribs, was excellently prepared. The spareribs were wonderfully tender, well seasoned and the portion was generous, making it a real feast. For dessert I chose the Mix Hommel, an assortment of different cakes. Each cake was a taste sensation in itself and the variety made the dessert particularly attractive. It was clear that a lot of care and attention had gone into the preparation of the desserts. The atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant and the service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The ambiance was cozy and contributed to a pleasant dining experience. All in all, De Nieuwe Hommel offers a tasty and enjoyable experience. It's an excellent choice for dinner and I can definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal in a pleasant setting.
