We had dinner there tonight with my sisters and cousins, and we had a delicious meal. It was cozy, and the service was friendly.

To start with, the restaurant looked really great, beautifully decorated, and had a nice atmosphere!!! We had a delicious meal there yesterday; there was a lot of choice on the menu, the food was hot and well prepared, and the staff was very friendly—really top-notch. We've added another favorite spot to our list! And we will definitely be going again soon!

It was very busy there, but also super cozy. The food was also very tasty. And it's fun to keep ordering something new, which is then served in small portions. Definitely worth it. And for a fixed price, you can stay as long as you want.

This was our first time visiting this restaurant. We booked through Social Deals. It has a great atmosphere and the staff is very friendly. It features an all-you-can-eat concept with small dishes. There are many choices: fried dishes, fresh dishes, and pre-prepared bites. We found some of the bites delicious, others less so. Ordering is done via a QR code on a phone. Each person at the table can scan the code on their own phone. The choices are automatically combined into one order. Desserts must be paid for separately, as must the drinks. Parking is available right outside or in the surrounding area. Overall impression: more than sufficient for what we paid.

A waste of money! Not tasty, cold meat smothered in sauce. Even the baguette with herb butter wasn't really good; how do you manage that? Just like the Hertog Jan beer, it had a weird taste. We are never going here again; we walked out after round 2 because you just eat with great reluctance.

From the moment we stepped inside, it felt like we were briefly transported back to my grandma's cozy living room. That warm, snug atmosphere makes you feel immediately welcome and at ease; truly a place you love to enter and love to stay. The food was delicious and prepared with care. To be honest, it would sometimes have been just a little nicer if the dishes had been served to each table at the same time, but that absolutely did not detract from the quality and taste of the dishes. What makes this place truly special is the friendly, helpful staff. They ensure you feel seen and contribute to the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. We therefore highly recommend De Rode Kater in Beilen! What a lovely place, with delicious food and a great ambiance. We will definitely be back here again. And thanks for the salmiak lollies, a delicious and surprising ending 😉

We really didn't like it; after the second round, we left the restaurant. We ordered meat twice, both cold, tasteless, and overloaded with sauce. We won't be coming back; you're better off spending your money at Lacubanita.

It was our first time. From the outside, it looks a bit like a football canteen, but once inside, you feel like you've stepped back in time. The decor is very atmospheric. The explanation of the system (it works with a QR code; you order using your own phone) was friendly and clear. The food was excellent, and there was a wide selection of meat, fish, and vegetarian options. You order small portions each time, so you can sample many different dishes. The service was friendly and efficient. We will definitely be back.

We had delicious tapas in a cozy restaurant. The entrance on the side street doesn't look inviting, but behind the door, it is warmly and comfortably furnished. We had a fun and surprising evening.

Nice concept in a unique setting. An atmospheric interior doesn't have to be slick or contrived. The food was fine, though some tapas could use a bit more attention regarding flavor. To keep guests coming back, it is important to keep adding different tapas. My gut feeling tells me that isn't happening, because everything is listed on a placemat. There is little you can do to change that. Once again, the evening was a great success, partly due to the friendly service.

Great tapas restaurant. Prompt service, even when busy

Enjoyed a delicious meal in this warm and atmospheric restaurant. "Burgundian enjoyment" is on the menu, and that's exactly what it is.

First impression was oh dear, where have we ended up, but once inside, we were amazed by the great service and delicious food.

Good food, but unfortunately, it took a very long time between courses. At least 30/40 minutes for two dishes. We left after 2.5 hours. Not because we were done eating, but because it took far too long for us. Such a shame.

The service was excellent and friendly, but it was very busy, so we had to wait a long time between rounds of tapas. The food was cold. The kitchen could use some more organization and collaboration so everyone could eat at the same table.

A cozy restaurant with a huge selection. Everything was nice and hot and delicious. However, the wait was sometimes a bit long, so we ordered a second round, and it arrived simultaneously. We also sat in the middle of the aisle, near the cash register, which wasn't ideal, but the food definitely made up for it.

The food tastes great. Some dishes would be even better with a warmer temperature. The sauces aren't always right for the dishes I ordered, but they were still delicious. Good portions. It's interesting that the pork belly (ordered twice) looked very different both times and also varied considerably in temperature. If you're early in the evening, the soup is definitely not hot yet (just lukewarm). Very nice staff 👍🏼 And also very friendly and knowledgeable. Despite the crowd, we always saw a smile and heard a friendly tone. Perfect.

It took ages to get our food each round, which I found really annoying. It took way too long, and you could only choose two dishes per round. (Most were so small that I finished them in one bite.) The food wasn't good at all. For example, the German steak was a dry little hamburger with overly strong spices and way too much salt! All in all, we give it a 4.

We've been vacationing in the Beilen area for years, but through chatgpt, we stumbled upon De Rooie Kater, having never been before. We made a reservation for Valentine's Day and had a delicious meal with the four of us (two adults and two children). It's a charming place, and the staff are very friendly. The food was excellent, and the pace between courses was just right (an achievement considering the place was practically full). We'll definitely be back!

I've been here several times, and every time the food is delicious and the decor is very cozy! We got a lovely spot by the window over Christmas, and everything was in a beautiful Christmas spirit then too! I've made another reservation so I can proudly show my children what a delicious menu you have!

What an absolute disaster. I had higher expectations for a restaurant positioned in the center of Beilen, but this was truly subpar. First of all, the service: a collection of children who were clearly just out of high school and had never held a tray in their lives. The "waitress" who served us could barely have been 16, constantly looked scared, forgot half the order, brought the wrong dishes, and spilled drinks on the table twice (without an apology, just walked on as if nothing had happened). Answering questions? No way. "Do you know if today's fish is fresh?" – shrug and "Uh, I think so." That level. The rest of the staff wasn't much older; boys and girls who weren't dry behind the ears yet, constantly getting in the way, whispering and laughing with each other while the tables remained covered in dirty plates. It felt like I'd ended up in a school cafeteria instead of a restaurant. The food wasn't much better: a dry steak that had clearly been sitting out too long, cold fries, limp vegetables, and a "homemade" sauce that came straight from an Albert Heijn jar. For those prices, you'd expect at least decent food, but this was canteen-level fare at Michelin-star prices. The atmosphere? Loud, messy, and uninviting. Tables weren't cleaned, glassware was greasy, and the restroom... let's just say I wouldn't dare go in there again. In short: stay far away. If you're looking for an evening of frustration, inexperienced teenagers pretending to work in a restaurant, and mediocre food for way too much money, then by all means go. Otherwise: drive on, there's absolutely nothing to be had at De Rooie Kater.

The atmosphere is pleasant, not too crowded, and you can truly enjoy dining out. Ordering is smooth and you can control the speed of the appetizers via your mobile phone. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, especially now that it's December. The only downside is that some dishes, when labeled spicy, are a bit spicy. It's not really noticeable. Otherwise, the three of us really enjoyed ourselves, and the service was excellent all evening.

Nicely decorated restaurant, friendly and helpful service, but the food is actually quite unremarkable. The kitchen staff seems incredibly afraid of spices. The tomato sauce on the meatballs tasted like cheap canned tomato soup, everything that's supposed to be spicy came with sweet chili sauce (even on the salad, oddly enough), and the caprese was carefully omitted from everything that might actually make it tasty (basil, olive oil, salt). The corn was bland, the shrimp, almost everything, really. The fries and desserts were good, but all in all, I thought it was very expensive for what you got. For that price, you expect them to put a little effort into adding some flavor.

Tonight I had dinner here with a friend. The waitress was a nice lady. In addition, the food was very tasty and nicely presented! The young boy who works in the kitchen also brought the food and almost dropped the container of mayonnaise, but that can happen to the best of us. Furthermore, the atmosphere was great and the food was there very quickly. We enjoyed it and will definitely come back again!

Had tapas here yesterday. The service was very young and inexperienced. The food was not tasty and dry. Also, almost everything we ordered came with a thick layer of Chili or flame sauce. Because some tapas were drowned in the sauce and therefore could not be eaten, we were charged 2 euros per leftover piece. Furthermore, the restaurant is very nicely decorated. And the atmosphere was good. We had to pay almost 100,- for 2 people and with 1x drink and dessert. Unfortunately, for what we got, a general disappointment.

The food is just like the red tomcat enjoying his plate of food. Rolling and satisfied we went home. 🐈. The food was very tasty and the service was good. We enjoyed it and will come back soon (in June😉)

Surprisingly good. Small (tapas) dishes, and of excellent quality.

The tapas concept used is new and they still have a lot to learn. Chicken dishes and pork tenderloin were overcooked and therefore dry. Many non-fresh/non-perishable products, sauces often the same. 1 round of orders never came and it takes a long time before you notice that. I don't think the price/quality ratio is good at almost 50 euros per person.

Last time it was still a bit chaotic because the concept had just changed, but now we had a delicious meal, and we were not stingy with the salmon... the mustard soup was also delicious.

The restaurant is really nice and cozy. You literally step into grandmother's time. Really great. The service was friendly. The food was tasty, but too simple for us. I'll call it Dutch-style tapas. Some dishes could have been a little warmer.

Ate here with my husband and we really enjoyed it. The tapas tasted excellent and the service was good. The tapas was delivered quickly during the dinner. Normally you would like to see the time between servings increase, but that is certainly not the case here. We recommend eating here.

To be honest, I was disappointed last time. Many dishes were lukewarm when we received them, even though it was very quiet. I also thought it was a small cocktail for what it costs. It's certainly not bad but honestly found this restaurant better in the past. Hopefully the weather improves.

A new concept and new dishes for about 6 months. In the meantime (already been twice) I have tasted almost all the dishes on the menu and I like the new concept. Unlimited tapas with good products, served quickly and the staff is also enthusiastic and cheerful.

Maybe it was because of Valentine's Day... but it really took too long between orders. A number of times one person received an order... while the other received an order 10 to 25 minutes later. Ordered twice and not received at all. This is not the intention of eating delicious tapas together. There was approximately 10 to 15 minutes between each order. Not for us again

Nowadays they have a tapas menu. Very varied and very tasty.

Wij wonen nu al 9 jaar in buurt van de Rooie Kater in Beilen, maar hadden hier nog nooit gegeten. Wat een positieve verrassing! De buitenkant nodigt niet uit, maar binnen is het zo sfeervol en het is ook heel fijn dat je niet bij elkaar op de tafel zit te kijken. De tafels staan ruim opgesteld. We hebben hier de bourgondische tapas gegeten. Verrassende gerechten, vriendelijke bediening en heerlijk gegeten. De oude website is nog in de lucht en dat is verwarrend want deze geeft het oude menu nog weer. Pas als je bewust de url derooiekaterbeilen.nl intypt kom je op de nieuwe site waarop het tapas menu staat. Dit moet nog even worden aangepast, want de oude site is heel rommelig en geeft een vertekend beeld door oude menu-kaart. Tip; zo snel mogelijk laten aanpassen en leuke recente foto's van interieur en exterieur plaatsen. Maar voor het eten en de sfeer een dikke tien!

A restaurant in a museum, very quaint and cozy. We really liked the concept with the many small “tapas”. Four of us were there on a busy Saturday evening and had a great time. All dishes were very tasty! The service staff are very friendly. Gladly again!
