Good fries with chicken nuggets

My favorite snack bar for years. The hamburger is butcher-quality and the fries are just right. The milkshakes aren't great, and that's my only criticism.

The best fries in Dordrecht! :) We've been coming here for years and they're still the best. Always a satisfying feeling, that's how fries should be fried.

I've been coming here since I was in school, but honestly, when Gerard and his wife were there, it was always great. Now that his son is there, it's a shadow of its former self. The fries are old, and you practically have to beg for sauce. The staff are young and don't really know what to do, and that's definitely due to a lack of training. If you complain, they treat you like a fool (they can't handle criticism), yet they charge top dollar for subpar food. Unfortunately for us, and I know you won't feel a thing, but we haven't been coming here again after 46 years. Another tip: if you work in the hospitality industry and rely on the revenue from customers, greet them with a smile and don't be dismissive or dismissive. You'll lose several customers this way.

The gray-haired lady with glasses could use a little more friendliness. We walked in and were stared at strangely because we were here at 9:50 PM. If the place was open, I could decide what to order. You could smile a little brighter and not immediately say, "Are you here for ice cream?" She wanted me to skip dinner because it was almost closing time. I hope you'll do something about this. I've heard this so many times from people around me!

Terribly bad, fries that were already fried 4 times, meatball black and as tough as leather. I had to throw everything away. 1 star is still too much.

Delicious homemade fresh fries, and the special hamburger bun is also highly recommended. They also offer a wide selection of snacks, drinks, milkshakes, and ice cream. The only downside is that parking is paid, but that's the responsibility of the municipality of Dordrecht. In short, highly recommended.

Good, fast and lots of choice. We almost forgot a frikandel but the employee quickly brought it outside to us.

Unfortunately, the large fries are less and less, had 3 times in a row and now it is a medium fries, expensive. It is not like it used to be, very unfortunate. I take a small fries, from now on they can't cheat me.

It's really busy there on weekends, the food is tasty

A bit grumpy staff, then we come home and the fries are soaked in mayonnaise. Cheese soufle without cheese and a milkshake that could have been water. Understand that it is busy on Friday evenings. But still a bit of a shame. (no forks or napkins)

Tonight we popped into the tasty corner for the first time for a fries war with onions and fries, peanut mayo. Delicious fresh fries and a good peanut sauce. Not too spicy, not too sweet, but a real everyone's friend. Simply delicious peanut sauce! Good service even though it was almost closing time

The best fries in Dordrecht can be found here! Bram Ladage can't compete with this and Oudelandse Hoek with their fresh fries doesn't come close either. Mayo/french fries sauce is also delicious. Satay sauce could use a little more flavor. The people behind the counter? Oh well, it's Dordt, you just have to think... don't expect too much from it. Dordt and stiff people really go hand in hand. You won't get a smile from the staff here, but you will get a smile from the food and let's say that's the most important thing!

I have sometimes felt nauseous after having fries from the Smulhoek, but this time it went too far. Became extremely ill. Judging by the fries, it seems like they don't change the frying fat and that really showed. Come on people. I recommend everyone to cycle a little further to, for example, the Bram Ladage. This will save your stomach a lot of trouble.

After passing by for a number of years, Gnome came by with his bicycle 🚲 and saw that the entrance door was open. When we arrived, a number of customers were present and were welcomed by a number of friendly ladies behind the counter. Choosing so much for one snack was difficult. Gnome once had a small fries special and was curious. The "hot thunder" was tempting but not included tonight. The fries came in a (plastic) container, which Kabouter rarely sees these days. Fortunately, the special version was placed on top of the fries. Better than next to them in a separate container. That was great with onion curry and mayo😋😋. The fries were hot, crispy and just👌👍🏆 good. Once again we visited a good address. These fries were enough for Kabouter and he got on again🚲 and cycled back to Rotterdam and Waterbus.⛴

I love the fresh fries from Smulhoek. I've been coming here since I was little, as I used to live nearby. The fries have a delicious bite and are nice and soft on the inside. Prices have gone up a lot recently, but of course that's everywhere.

Soggy fries. Didn't say hello even though the place was empty and we were the only guests. Antisocial joke “everything is fine as long as you pay” does not contribute to their customer friendliness.

Anyone can operate a chip shop?! No, if only that were true... here you will find one of the few good chip shops in Dordt, where in addition to fries and snacks, you also get a number of delicious other dishes.

Always busy especially around dinner time

De smulhoek, al mijn hele leven bekend bij mij. Gerard en zijn familie zijn een bekende verschijning in dordt. Overal bekend door de lekkerste friet en snacks die ze verkopen. Trouwens de friet wordt vers gesneden in de winkel. Niets uit dozen. Dat maakt het verschil van een goed frietje.

Ik kom er al sinds kinds af aan en ineens is de kwaliteit sterk gedaald, oliespons aan friet en slechte onbeleefde service

Voor een friteszaak gewoon een hele goeie. Patat van verse aardappelen. Verders word er altijd flink doorgewerkt, waardoor je nooit lang op je bestelling hoeft te wachten. 👍👍👍

Vandaag een broodje bal met satesaus gegeten bij de smulhoek. Het was ronduit een belevenis, een mooie sappig gegaarde bal gesneden in plakjes had een plek gevonden op een knapperig broodje. Wat garnituur en een volle pittige sate maakten het af. Genoten, aanrader....meer dan geweldig!
