Enjoyed the mushroom Wellington. The filling was delicious, as were the parsnip puree, red wine sauce, and carrots, but... the Wellington had either been in the oven for far too short a time or had been microwaved, because it was definitely not en croute (crispy puff pastry). The crème brûlée was delicious, with a lovely burnt sugar coating, a scoop of orange ice cream, and good whipped cream with crispy toppings.

We had a delicious pancake dinner in a very cozy restaurant. Nice atmosphere, open kitchen, and friendly service.

I had trouble finding the entrance in the evening. Otherwise, it's a charming restaurant. We were seated with a group in the former farmhouse.

I was here with some neighbors for a meeting and a cup of coffee. I'd called ahead to ask if we could sit a bit away from the crowd so we wouldn't disturb the other guests. They were very accommodating, and the staff was very friendly. The dishes we saw on the table looked inviting, so I'll definitely be back.

This review is based solely on the fact that the website, Google, and Facebook say it's open. However, when we drove here today, there was a sign outside the door saying "Closed today due to wedding." Please, then add that online as well. Congratulations to the newlyweds.

Update: I unfortunately have to drop one star due to the current state of the children's play area inside. There are fewer toys these days, especially a lot of stuffed animals that could use a wash. The floor also doesn't feel clean, and several storage bags and a rug were curled up on the floor. There is a fun play element for little ones on the wall, but it's mounted too high (more suitable for 6-year-olds than 2-year-olds). A great place to eat with the family. There's a large, free parking lot right outside.

Delicious pancakes, lots of choice.

Of course, it can happen, but we had to wait an hour for our food. After 45 minutes, the waitress came to confirm what we had ordered instead of simply saying they'd forgotten to pass it on to the kitchen. When the pancakes finally arrived, the children's pancake was covered in all sorts of children's goodies (toys) that my child still had to eat. We didn't think this was very hygienic. The adults had a bacon, cheese, and onion pancake, but there was almost no cheese on it, only three shreds of it, and the bacon was so salty that I had enough salt for the rest of the week. The waitresses were very kind and understanding. They even offered to take a little off the price, but that wasn't necessary. This could be a coincidence, of course, but unfortunately, due to the combination of circumstances, it wasn't a great experience for us.

We were at Rotterdam Zoo and were looking for a restaurant on our way back. The restaurant was a hit. There was a play area for our two small children. Outside, there's a small slide with a tunnel for the kids and even some goats to feed and pet. There was even a bouncy castle, although it wasn't in use due to the cold weather. There's a large, free parking lot next door. The food from the open kitchen also pleasantly surprised us. Great pancakes, tasty burgers, and a very good grilled plate with tender pink beef. The salads were also top-notch! The location is very tasteful and cozy. 5 stars here too! The kids even got a little toy airplane. We're thrilled!! The restaurant menu is only available in Dutch, but there's an English menu available as a PDF on the website.

Another great place I regularly drive past and this time I stopped in for dinner. It's clearly geared towards children, but it's also very suitable for adults and groups. The staff is young and enthusiastic. The food (pancakes and surf and turf) is excellent. The location is beautiful, but the upstairs area is warm, and the air conditioning doesn't work. Sit downstairs or in the garden and enjoy.

Cozy and stylish place, good variety of pancake flavors and quite taste. They have also other dishes, which is convenient if you go there with weird people that do not appreciate pancakes. The tea is a bit more expensive but overall good experience. The place is quite big and they have very stylish rooms and outdoor area. The parking entrance is not well indicated when you follow good maps, the real entrance is via the main street.

Wonderful to see this team at work. They really seem to enjoy themselves there. Staff was super friendly and the food was great! I always love to have specials and they had many yummy pancakes. We all enjoyed our food and there service.

The food is absolutely delicious, and you can truly enjoy it. The service, however, is unfortunately much worse if you're seated upstairs. I wonder why you walk past nine times and see the table empty, and don't even ask if you need anything else or if we're waiting for the bill. We finally asked for it ourselves. Such a shame!

We had a delicious meal there, with all kinds of pancakes, but there's also plenty for those who prefer something different. It can sometimes take a while for your food to be ready, but the enthusiastic service makes up for it.

Nadat de bestellingen waren geplaatst moesten we ruim 3 kwartier op eten wachten (personeelsgebrek?) Vier verschillende maaltijden, dus probleem keuken: Spareribs, oordeel tafelgenoot heel redelijk, lekkere patat Krokante kipburger, patat, oordeel prefab kip (zoals je in de supermarkt koopt), redelijk/ Grote salade carpaccio, slecht, een beetje vlees, een forse hoeveelheid voorgewassen sla, zo uit het zakje, een dot saus, wat pijnboompitten. Liefdeloos klaargemaakt. Een appel/spek pannenkoek: dramatisch, deels zwart geblakerd (te heet gebakken), deels ongaar (tekort gebakken). Desserts, redelijk (dame-blanche leek niet op echte dame-blanche) Maar laten zitten, bij vervanging zouden we weer veel te lang moeten wachten. En zou het dan beter zijn? Thuis gekomen de reviews gechecked. Op de eigen website van de Soete Suikerbol stonden aangegeven: 632 reviews met gemiddelde van 4,5, niet terug te vinden. 700 positieve reviews op Google, niet terug te vinden. Toiletvoorzieningen niet restaurant waardig.

The spare ribs were very good, as were the chicken burger and carpaccio salad, but unfortunately, the bacon on the pancake was burnt, as was the edge. The pancake also seemed to have been overcooked. The carrot cake had tough bits that were dried out, but the sorbet was delicious. The quality was very variable, which is a shame.

Heerlijk gegeten, goed gevuld met goede en variatie in ingrediënten! (ik had goed gevulde pannekoek met zalm en zeekraal: heerlijk ) Erg fijn dat er ook andere items op de kaart stonden!! Lief meisje vd bediening. Er stond veel wind ... tip: plaats een rieten schutting langs de weg bij de ene hooiberg ( bij de witte duiven?schuur) of een bamboestokken of wilgetenen schutting en dan komen we a.s. jaar weer terug: Nu tochtte het daar erg. (er is wel genoeg plaats 2 terrassen zeg maar voor én achter) tip 2: nog 4 ( grotere en kleine )schommels erbij is erg leuk voor de ook wat oudere kids

A beautiful location. A real oasis of peace and greenery in a busy city like Vlaardingen. The old farm with outbuildings has been beautifully renovated into a catering and event location. You can also go here for a pancake or something else, but check whether the location has not been rented because then normal visit is not possible. Service is top. Food is of a good level in terms of price/quality. Absolute recommendation.

Great place to have lunch with a larger group. We were lucky that we could sit outside. For the little children there is a bouncy castle and a playground. The service was a bit stiff, it was also very busy. Orders were delivered incorrectly or not at all, but this was neatly resolved after asking. All in all, a nice afternoon with the family.

We have been here a few times for different events. Any occasion can be held here. It has beautiful rooms for groups. We held a birthday party and a baby shower. But just a lunch for two is also very enjoyable.

Good pancakes 🥞 and also normal dishes of good quality. The big white barn/house 🤔; I don't exactly understand why it's still there. Can be renovated 🔨 or demolished. Has much more potential. For the rest nothing to complain about; the service is fine.

Wij hadden wel de pech dat er op het moment van ons bezoek tegelijkertijd een huwelijk (Of ander feest) aan de gang was wat duidelijk meer tijd van het personeel (met name in de keuken) opeisde dan wenselijk was. Daardoor hebben wij (met een klein kind) ongeveer 45 minuten moeten wachten op ons voorgerecht. Dat was gezien de spanningsboog van de kleine niet ideaal.

You don't have to come here for pancakes. Very big but so thin that you could see through them. The bacon/apple/raisin pancake contained two pieces of fried bacon, three slices of apple and finally five raisins. A pale tasteless whole. All other menus by our group were good by the way.

Celebrated my 75th birthday with a High Tea with 33 ladies. Had such a nice afternoon and the High Tea was great.

Good food, good service and a beautiful and cozy location. You notice that they still have to practice a bit with table numbers and taking the correct order, but the friendly service makes you take this completely for granted. It is not easy to suddenly have a full terrace after months of being closed. Also great fun with children.

Made reservations to eat here. Table outside in full sun. Request for a shady spot or parasol due to medication and grandmother's age. According to the lady, this is not possible. I didn't put it in the reservation and reserved too late?! Very special that it is all up to the customer. There were still plenty of options outside with a parasol at the front. If you book without children, it is a good idea to indicate that you want to sit a little further away from the bouncy castle, or you don't mind children running around.
